I must admit, I'm a farm 210,000 gold on disc 1 sort of guy who runs 7 armor of legend 7 legend casque and 6 ultimate war gods and 1 phantom shield for Shana. If you're supposed to be legendary dragoons, you'll feel legendary alright...
Honestly I did it the hard way because I have the PS1 discs and saved and then tried that section over and over and over and over and over agin until I finally got the ultimate wargod sometimes rng was nice and got it in less than 5 reloads other times it was mean and took me over 20 reloads

Currently playing a dart solo game, about to fight sea dragon. Its been interesting as dart is well over leveled making some bosses easy, but the fun part is some normally easy bosses are tricky. The theif in shurlys temple was really challenging, along with anything that can confuse you if you dont have an accessory to prevent it

I was just starting to get an itch to go back to playing Legend of Dragoon, and this video was SUPER helpful and informative for helping me decide what to give to my characters. Funnily enough, I had been planning to make Meru a hybrid fighter before you listed gear builds for her, with the strat being to keep her SP low so I can transform, pop off a spell (or status cleansing heal), then go right back to bonking with Perky Step (this would've been especially helpful in those fights where being a Dragoon is detrimental). Meru and Shana would be sharing MP Boosting items and Dancer equips, with Shana taking the Dragon Helm for better survivability, and Meru the Magical Hat. Dart, meanwhile, would be wishing to be a more useful character lol (it's sad when the moment he was most useful for me was when I fought Lloyd for the last time, and I had him transform with the Talisman on to bait Lloyd into trying to instakill him in vain, over and over again while Meru and Rose pummeled the crap out of that twink!)
If you run inbetween the mountain leading to Hellena prison from the town where dabitz has his shop, right at the mouth of the mountain is a very high encounter rate of those robots and yellow bird special monsters. Give shana as much accuracy gear as you can, and you can farm 3 ultimate wargod callings in about an hr or so.
I run a full speed + Bonk Power Meru in almost every playthrough. My third slot rotates between Shana or Haschel depending on if I want more healing/magic or just more raw Bonk Power.
There's actually an enemy called "Puck" that drops Dancer's Rings in the Forbidden Lands. It's a 2% drop rate, but since we have a rewind feature for Legend of Dragon on the PS4/5 that let's us scum drop rates, it's something that's easier to farm now.
wait that actually works? I was trying that in the Phantom Ship on the first lumpy creature to try getting a Magical Hat but it felt like the item drops weren't changing at all so I eventually gave up.
@@VampirePrinceKRS Yes. The rewind feature allows you to reroll RNG, but you have to do a different action. Let's say you attack and kill the enemy, but dont get the drop, do the rewind feature and then do another action like defend or throw an attack item. This rerolls the RNG and it resets every time a new character's turn comes up.

I remember one time at the very end of the game pre-Moon, I went and killed Faust, then farmed up allllll the gold. Having 3 characters with Legend Casques, Armors of Legend, and Phantom Shields.. with that, even Kongol laughs at the final boss' magic, and Meru laughs at enemy physical attacks. xD
Attack Badge and Giganto Ring are an alternative accessory on Meru and Hachel, their huge addition multipliers benefit greatly from the extra attack and they dont need the speed, also destroyer mace damage get bigger.

I actually figured out a way to make the phantom ship mini game easier. It involves using the rewind and save anywhere features. First time I actually got the ultimate wargod without buying it.👍
Yeah, i've done it on PS1 LoD before, but the rewind function pretty much removed most of the headache of that minigame. Almost always had to wait until you had at least 2 of the same number before even hoping to get the UW.

A few things, 1 I would double subscribe to you if I could, 2 I am very interested in anything LoD based and absolutely love everything you've put out so far. Onto other items, any unique builds you can think of would be awesome, not necessarily just this build is better then others (which you did great in this video), I am more interested in mechanics, builds, capitalizing on character strengths then I am just "this is how you get this item" tutorials. So Rose basically plays Yugioh 5D's for her equipment setup. Also one accessory I'd add that i didn't notice mentioned are the two Talismans. They won't really be needed for most of the base game, but can come in handy for one or two of the later fights in the game.
Something I needed to remember was to NOT sell ALL of my extra equipment too soon because you can’t remove equipment unless you have something to replace it with. Got stuck with the wrong people wearing the bandit shoes and couldn’t change it 😵💫
Till this game was released again I hadn't played it in many years but remembered everything about it. Sadly meant there was little challenge in the game. I purposefully set Lenus into berserk mode for more challenge. I know you mostly cover game mechanics but I would like to see someone go more in depth with some of the story. I got into a debate with a friend about how much Shana (SPOILER) being the Moon Child effected those around her. You see MANY random people compliment her or call her cute or sweet and people just gravitate to her. Something a Moon Child is known for.

I'm near the end of the game and I had the dancer's shoes and ring on Rose for a while but I found her better with a therapy ring instead. She's kinda fragile but with all that speed she ends up getting a lot of turns for free healing so you don't have to guard very often with her, unless of course you're fighting Lloyd and he decides to attack her almost every single time.
I'm not sure how the rewind feature works in the remaster, but I've used save states on emulator to get the stupid chests on the ghost ship to work for me. I hate pure rng mechanics like that so if I can bypass them, I do!
Playing LoD on the original PS, no rewind features for me, so that farming build is gonna help loads. Curious about the PS5 version; has the translation been updated at all? Are all of the original animations intact (I heard Rose had some edits to her dragoon magic attacks)? I'm replaying through the US version now so I'm familiar for the JP version, since I cannot read JP yet.
For the ultimate gear, I really I only get 2 Legendary Casques and that's it. I stick them on Albert & Kongol and mostly leave them there unless I really want one of the other characters to fight a heavy hitting magic boss. Never bother with Legendary Armour as physical damage is pretty survivable with whatever the best armour is for each character at any point in the game.
I really prefer to use a Mage Ring over Amulet. More MP is nice, yes, but regenerating MP is more my style. My go to for it is Meru. Using Perky Step and the Lv1 dragoon tactic, she can regen every turn, meaning she can regen enough MP to spam Rainbow Breath every two turns. If no healing is needed, just use a Freezing Ring, or attack if you need to regen more. Yes, I do play far too conservatively with my resources in my RPGs. I just don't like the idea of an option being gone (using items, or MP) until you get back to civilization, especially when I like to save my money for those sweet legend helmets and armors. The base MP availability in this game just doesn't work for me, so I have to cheese it.
Amulet is great for Shana/Miranda along with the Magical Hat. The hat doubles her base Magic Points. Amulet gives her an extra 50 (250 MP in total!). That means she can pull off 3 White-Silver Dragon spells in a row if she needs to, plus have a little left over.
I find it funny how many people use the ff9 soundtrack for background noise. Are you be planning to go in-depth with any other series? Cause you do good explaining the things lol
A great video! Just one think: 26:00 Against Faust it´s not so effective to use Speed Rings, cuz almost all attacks of Faust are magic-counters, so is attack badge or Giganto Ring a better alternative to hit Faust harder or use something to avade or reduce magical attacks.
Is there a video on which items to keep on hand? That's the most frustrating part to me. I'm always wrestling over whether I should have mana items or healing or damage and I'm especially leary with the reusable items -- I have a ton of them in the late game, but many I rarely use (except speed up and power up which I use all the time with my Shana team as Shana).
What I would do for "Lavitz" I give magical hat and mage ring and the bandit Boots. Mostly to spam rose storm and still hit hard. For a quick play. For Rose, she can be immortal. Rose headband and Holy Ankh. She won't die
I've maxed everyone's additions except Dart's and Meru's with all Dragoon levels maxed out, except Meru ( level 4) and I'm still on disk 2, lol. My OCD runs my life in this game lol.
I can't say I agree with much of anything in this video as a long time player tbh but to each their own. The girls never need speed they're fast enough as is. The boys are absolute power houses but, their MDF is awful and Albert/Kongol especially tend to be quite slow. My end game team is usually Dart, Meru, Haschel. I always go after faust so by disc 4 is when I start the biggest grind to max all additions, dlvl and get the legend casque for all 3 party members and the phantom shield for 2/3. I had soul eater on dart plus the therapy ring to counter it and since a majority of end game enemies are heavy magic users I rarely ever bother with the armor of legend. As for faust himself the Dragon Armor is a great alternative since he counters you each time you attack with the element of the character that's attacking. Even with the best armor in game he still hits like a truck and gets multiple turns in a row. The ultimate wargod is a total waste of money so nobody should ever buy them but if you manage to get it from the Ghost Ship chest I highly recommend selling it for the 10k. Until you get the expensive armor though giganto ring is very good for Meru if you use her and dragon helm is a good backup as well. I've heard a lot mention the Rainbow Dress but the issue with it is only the Rainbow Bird drops it and you cannot kill it unless you manage to keep it confused since it can only hurt itself (it's immune to all physical and magical dmg from the party.) A big thing that irks me is everyone saying Shana's name wrong. If you've seen the end of the game you'll hear Dart say it out loud. It's pronounced like Shawn-a. There are also several repeatable/missable items that can really be of use later on.
wheres the MAGE RING? this accessory is super useful on meru and shana (especially on Shana). if you just wanna have a safe, easy and stress-free journey. i dont bring any MP items because of this accessory, not to mention, i barely use any healing item, because of the heal spams
@@tantacles oh right lloyd too. but uh the divine dragon fight kills offense too so you basically just don't use dragoon in this fight. so 2 fights lol
Nah, meru’s heal is quite useful and quick. AND I think you still do an excellent amount of damage with her spells because grand dragon’s defense also is reduced. But like… watch the meru solo run. She doesn’t need dragoon AT ALL to be completely broken.
@@tantacles ok merus dragoon magic does like negative damage even with max matk gear, i guess her healing spell is useful but i literally didn't even need to heal since the battle is a joke with magic items

For money and exp I used to grind Ghosts on the ghost ship... On a PS1 14 hours max lv maxed out money ..... Twas depressing....and after that I really just wanted to end the game😅

i dont bring any MP items because of this accessory, not to mention, i barely use any healing item, because of the heal spams

@@tantacles oh right lloyd too. but uh the divine dragon fight kills offense too so you basically just don't use dragoon in this fight. so 2 fights lol
Nah, meru’s heal is quite useful and quick.
AND I think you still do an excellent amount of damage with her spells because grand dragon’s defense also is reduced.
But like… watch the meru solo run. She doesn’t need dragoon AT ALL to be completely broken.

@@tantacles ok merus dragoon magic does like negative damage even with max matk gear, i guess her healing spell is useful but i literally didn't even need to heal since the battle is a joke with magic items
