Love these build guides. However, I'm not sure I agree with using "quick" mobility when using heavy weapon. Blocking is so strong with heavy weapons, I guess I'm not seeing the point? It honestly makes some bosses laughably easy when you realize you can just block most of their attacks instead of dodging. Even if you lose stamina, you now have enough ichor to use skills or spells that don't cost stamina along with a high focus guage. You can reach 100% block with practically all heavy weapons with either Prismatic Veil for elemental attacks (Demeter) and/or Steady Bulwark for physical attacks (Hermes). "Normal" mobility on heavy weapons, on the other hand, I can kind of get behind as it is actually very useful for getting backstabs, since being slow makes it hard to position yourself, while light weapons have poor blocking. Most enemy attacks still hit you even when you're behind them so being able to block once you roll behind them is still fantastic for getting those backstabs without losing any health or getting staggered out of position. The only benefit I see to quick mobility is chasing after enemies that move halfway across the room to attack your partner in a flash. I've usually spent Ichor on Shifting Hollow for that, though,
@@dadekker1848 Yes, he mentions it in the video. You just need to use a passive that increases strength. There's a number of them. I can't check right now, but I think Atlas has a passive that increase Strength and Vitality.
Is there another blood vail you would recommend that would be good to use or is the one u mention the only one? I kinda like the stinger blood vails cuz of the Tokyo Ghoul look which is why I ask but this one looks pretty cool too and the build looks awesome too.
@@Soltanus yeah havent found 1 map in first blind playthrough but still in floods of impurity i havent found the barrage stuff, neither on the floor nor in enemys with around 10 runs.

Another thing to note is that "Cleansing Light" (Queenslayer) restores a portion of damage inflicted by "Blood Sacrifice" (Hunter), so there's a little more sustainability for longer runs.
One thing to note about Iceblood (and any other weapon that has scaling in mind/will): That scaling ONLY affects the gift triggered strong attack abilities that cost 1+ ichor to use. The physical swing of iceblood uses str/dex, but the icicle stalagmites damage use the mind/will scaling and not the str/dex
This build is perfect for me since I main a spellblade build in pretty much every game that has build creation! Thanks whoever made it work in code vein ^^

Definitely a build I’m gonna aim for. Quick mobility is nearly a necessity for me since I focus on avoiding attacks. Adding an ass-ton of damage capabilities on top of that almost seems unfair for the enemies.
One thing I have to thank you guys for is showing how bloody strong swift destruction is. I use it even on my caster builds because holy hell it makes spell damage even better. When using quick weapon I'm hitting for about 10k damage in massive aoe when using sands of depravity. Managed to pull off a spell combo that dealt over 59k burst damage to target dummy with just the basic 30 ichor thanks to that passive. I'm sure you can do A lot more with the spells you get from queen blood code but I don't have that.
I'm busy putting together a "Master Swordsman" build that revolves around 1-handed Katana-type weapons (I think they have the most entertaining heavy attacks), stinger-type blood veils (for the defenses) and all-out sword skills with some useful buffs in between. Passives included Accelerated Charge, 1-handed Sword Mastery, Dexterity up OR Strength up passives (weapon and blood code dependant), and the improved drain on attacks passive. Unsure which BCs to focus on at the moment but I'm working on it! 😁
"Absolutely shitting all over them" That's probably the most accurate scientific term to use when I play this kind of build. Zooming all over the place and running up to shotgun spells into mobs and bosses. XD
It is great the constructions that show the bad thing is that since there are passive skills from almost the end the game is only recommended to use them when doing NG +
I want a sequel so bad, just so there can be more blood codes, blood veils and gifts to switch between lmao. So much fun, and so much customizing. Would love for a sequel to add a pvp arena or something similar. Cause inhibit seems useless against anyone other than a player 😩 Love your build guides though. Helps a lot with either a build I’m making or giving me ideas for one

Hey Cas, great guides as always! I remember finding Fex for DOS2 and that really helped me get started. This build is definitely one of the most potent/fun. In general it makes me think Mind is just OP, since you can get these strong burst spells (and also with the option to swap in the blood and flame barrages for good coverage) in addition to melee DPS with Bridge to Glory. It's too bad Dark doesn't have its own version of Bridge to Glory. For a variation of what you have, I like the Ishtar code. With only 2 higher weight limit, it allows for Quick while using alleviated Enduring Crimson, which is awesome. Also, this allows for use of Deliverance when farming for the multiplayer achievement :)
Guys make sure you get ALL of the vestiges in a map and restore them before you fight the bosses starting with the Sacred Cathedral boss in order to get the required blood codes.
@@wickedarctiinae4132 you can get the vestiges but if you want specific blood codes from the bosses, YOU HAVE TO restore the vestiges BEFORE defeating the boss. If you don't restore the vestiges BEFORE defeating the boss, you'll be locked out of the better blood code until NG+.

Here's my spellbinding build Passive Mind/willpower Swift destruction Health stimulate One handed mastery Blood code Queenslayer Gifts Violate storm Bridge to glory Ice or fire weapon buff Final Journey Elemental wall Blood sacrifice Blazing roar Cleansing light Blood Veil. Ivory grace Weapon blazing claw or iceblood alt durmarang for iron will buff w/ charge heavy attack This build is really good at lvl120 your melee attack with buffs do 2k the charge heavy from ice Blood dose 3.5k Violate storm dose 4.6k blazing roar dose 4.7k both are at range rather than upclose with a barage . Note with final journal active your melee dose 5k and spells do 7 to 8k plus its insane how effective this build is and its very sustainable
Little problem, the last 2 bosses in the game are basically immune to elemental damage. That's why everybody is running swords, 2h weapons and bayonets (yeah they can hit for like 7k in ng+, don't belive people that say bayonets damage is low).
this was a very useful video. I hopefully should be getting this game soon and was planning on doing a hybrid magic melee build but wanted to find a video talking about build like that so I can at least know what to look into working for and what to avoid.

This is exactly how I’ve been playing the game since launch. But you can run Queenslayer and have more physical damage and theres not much of a difference in light attack’s also spoiler alert, Maybe...... 🤔 Jack is the best partner if you are running this set up because his team move makes you over powered as hell but you’ll need to use items or a power called praise something in the queenslayer code to heal also you’re ichor limit will be cut after using said move
I was the same as you, coming from DS3 to Code Vein. Basically, it's fun, the first two bosses are kinda rushing too hard, and don't feel at all like the fair DS fights with rhytm and tells, yet, afterwards it gets alot better. If exploration/builds making was the thing you loved the most in DS, then get it, got plenty to offer. But I personally think it's a bit on the easier side. It has a decent length, but without pvp, i dunno if the game will life that long. Atleast dlc's are fairly cheap.

Hey man loving your videos on this game! Could you make a video explaining how transformations work? I've made some gift weapons but I can't tell how it's affecting my mage build. Gift transformation says it boosts gifts, but it gets rid of scaling on weapons so I'm confused on how it's helpful comparatively.
I have more luck with this build on Queenslayer, and the dex scaling starts at A. Less mind tho, so you need 1 Mind+ to use Bridge, but even without the better scaling, stacking that with Final Journey in boss fights is just silly sometimes if you can finish em off in 3 min
Speak Louder something to note about bayonets: the shots scale from your magic stats, your mind and your willpower, so you’ll want a Blood Code with good scores in that. A good all rounder Code like Prometheus will be a good early Code for bayonets, since you’ll also have the dead for swinging the bayonet around in melee to regain ichor. Darkseeker will be an upgrade, and Queenslayer is a solid code to use halfway in. Also, the Fusillade Rondo skill from the Artemis Code, in my experience at least, is too lacking in damage and slow for use, you’d get more damage out of two or three shots of the bayonet. Really, you could modify this spellblade built by replacing the swords with bayonets and have a good starting point, especially since you’ll have the mind and willpower up for your shots, you’ve got access to stats for spells as well. Just keep in mind to wait a moment after dodging to fire, otherwise you’ll do a melee attack instead of shooting.

@@Barduwulf Argent wolf bayonet is pretty solid too, slightly higher melee dmg than Libertador, but slightly lower shot dmg than Libertador. Both +10 with Fortification, on Harmonia and +10 Spurs.
I have two questions: 1/ How can you fast roll with the Blazing Claw + Silver Noble using Eos? This puts me at 50/98 which is above 50% weight 2/ How are you able to use Blazing Claw using Eos with just one Dex passive? I require 2. Thank you very much
Fortification increases weapon damage and weapon defence. Weapon defence affects your damage taken while guarding, while blood veils affect the damage taken while not guarding. If you want to increase your damage taken when you miss a dodge, you should instead have better defence stats on your veil. Also keep in mind that many, if not most enemies deal some sort of elemental damage.
Similar to what Ive been attempting to build. Just need to progress farther into the game and figure out a good defensive skill that can be my "oh shit" bar in case I do get smacked hard.

What gift can u run right after u get EOS? Up to this point every gift mages get are dark and my dark build's still so much stronger cuz I got no barrage, no bridge to glory, nothin
Can someone explain how levelling and scaling works to me pls, for example if I level up with a d scaling in strength from my bloodcode will I recieve diferent stats than if I levelled up with an a stat in strength? And is there any reason to have different character saves or could I just swap between classes without penalties?

To go from normal weight to quick, your load has to be half your max weight or less. Even if your weapon has alleviation, if your blood veil is too heavy, you won't be quick.
You should limit leveling up, it doesn't get you much, but it makes it take longer to level up your gifts (To the point where you may not be able to level up your gifts unless you are level sync'd in someone else's map to their level). I wouldn't go past 50 until you level all of your gifts up. I've been sitting at 115 while I've been maxing out my gifts and trying different builds in the void city depths, and this would have been SO much faster if I didn't over-level
I see people play this build cuz of stats I play it cuz I simp for Io yes I'm not kidding It's purely bcs Io uses this build's main Blood Code oh and Ice skills cuz why not
Decent I guess low damage though...i went with queen blood code, spur veil, and black great sword, passives are str/will,str,will, and 2 hand up, then u can choose your spells , best part is ur normal speed, and u have good defense, one of my queen spells hits for 10k lol

as of recent patch, the barrage skills have been nerfed to half of their original damage.
This brings the tri barrage burst in line with the best dark gift burst.
They still pack quite a punch.

I'm playing a greatsword light mage. I don't know how viable it is, but it sure is fun.
Notice a issue 3:59 savvy evasion is in Prometheus blood code but you have harmonal blood code top right

@@Barduwulf i'm on my third playthrough and all this time, I thought the shots are scaling on whatever the weapon is scaling. Well, that explains a lot, thx.
Speak Louder no problem. Also found Libertador (Eva’s Bayonet)is very good for shots, high mind and willpower scaling, does some rather high damage.
@@Barduwulf Argent wolf bayonet is pretty solid too, slightly higher melee dmg than Libertador, but slightly lower shot dmg than Libertador. Both +10 with Fortification, on Harmonia and +10 Spurs.
I have two questions:
1/ How can you fast roll with the Blazing Claw + Silver Noble using Eos? This puts me at 50/98 which is above 50% weight
2/ How are you able to use Blazing Claw using Eos with just one Dex passive? I require 2.

Just use the "Alleviation" transformation option and you'll be fine.

Sry, was talking about the "quick" mobility part. You'll sadly still need 2 passive dex buffs.

Its weird but i cant seem to use Blazing claw, i cant seem to get the dexterity needed even tho i have the dex up perks

Fortification increases weapon damage and weapon defence. Weapon defence affects your damage taken while guarding, while blood veils affect the damage taken while not guarding. If you want to increase your damage taken when you miss a dodge, you should instead have better defence stats on your veil. Also keep in mind that many, if not most enemies deal some sort of elemental damage.

Similar to what Ive been attempting to build. Just need to progress farther into the game and figure out a good defensive skill that can be my "oh shit" bar in case I do get smacked hard.

Question: Why not use 1handed mastery passive, instead of Swift Destruction? Currently SW reduces my damage with 200, even with quick mobility

Can someone explain how levelling and scaling works to me pls, for example if I level up with a d scaling in strength from my bloodcode will I recieve diferent stats than if I levelled up with an a stat in strength? And is there any reason to have different character saves or could I just swap between classes without penalties?

So for the Silver Spell Blade build I have Eos and Alleviation for my Hanemukuro. But it says I have normal weight
To go from normal weight to quick, your load has to be half your max weight or less. Even if your weapon has alleviation, if your blood veil is too heavy, you won't be quick.

how is he dodging like that? my dodges are all rolls. is it a gift, or is it something to do with weight?
Entirely base on weight
If you have 50% or total weight you will faze instead of rolling for dodging
You can also use the hasten gift from Prometheus which buffs your reflexes temporarily to make all of your dodges most form
At what point is it good to level up? Is any reason for capping at 120 ?
You should limit leveling up, it doesn't get you much, but it makes it take longer to level up your gifts (To the point where you may not be able to level up your gifts unless you are level sync'd in someone else's map to their level). I wouldn't go past 50 until you level all of your gifts up. I've been sitting at 115 while I've been maxing out my gifts and trying different builds in the void city depths, and this would have been SO much faster if I didn't over-level

um I can't use IceBlood with Noble silver it saids the sword's strength does not meet the requirement
you need Strength/Dexterity up in passive in order to wield it

Decent I guess low damage though...i went with queen blood code, spur veil, and black great sword, passives are str/will,str,will, and 2 hand up, then u can choose your spells , best part is ur normal speed, and u have good defense, one of my queen spells hits for 10k lol
