Love this game, nice build. Would you do a heavy weapon-spell sword build, combining combos with magic? I would recommend the hunter class but maybe you have a better idea.
I can very much agree, however Mia's gun definitely has more range. As someone who is doing a bayonet run i can safely 110% say Mia's gun has more range but Eva's packs a bit more power.
it's crazy just how many combos you can make in this game, ive experimented with pure melee, pure caster, melee/light caster, gun mage, the list just never ends.
While a nice video from Fextralife, most of it would work best for "one-and-done" gameplay. If you're going to tackle some NG+ shenanigans, I'd actually recommend doing everything in two playthroughs: one where you save everyone, another where everyone dies, so you can get all the bloodcodes and gifts. And some pointers, assuming everyone has DLC, though some of it can apply without it. -Blood Sacrifice works best with Cleansing Light from the Queenslayer bloodcode, as it mitigates the HP loss from converting it into ichor, thus letting you use it more often, provided you're good at dodging. Speaking of which, Ymir (Frozen Empress DLC) has a passive, Ichor Focus (Ymir Frostcore II, dodge ten attacks from the Frozen Empress boss in a row), which restores 10 ichor when you enter the focused state. Again, to use ONLY if your dodging skills are on point. -Alternatively, if you so desire, you can use your weapon to recover ichor if you choose to. Pick Weapon Drain Rating Up (Caster), pair it with a Devour weapon (usually the Argent Wolf Blade, but if you have the Lord of Thunder DLC, Lightning Brionac works better: you just need to defeat the main boss of said DLC while having an halberd in your hands, gifts and drain attacks are OK to use) and with either Hunting Feast (Hunter) or Bloodsucking Blades (Artemis), you can recover a fair bit of ichor by whacking your foe senseless. Just remember to take some distance off and cast a gift, though. -Harmonia works best if you can exploit the interaction between Supernatural Blood (Uses HP to cast gifts when out of ichor, signature gift) and Field of Thirst (Perseus, Lord of Thunder DLC, creates a trap-like field which drains 1 ichor for every enemy every 0.5 seconds), which refills your Ichor pool every second Supernatural Blood is up. Other than that, Queen (Endgame, save all successors and restore all the Eos vestiges), Ribcage (Cathedral of the Sacred Blood, do not restore the first Successor's memories) and Ymir (Frozen Empress DLC, defeat the titular boss while not letting your HP fall to zero more than five times) outperforms it. -Stat-ups are best used to allow for more options in weapons and gifts, they're not worth it as damage increase, as they only add ~3% bonus damage per Willpower stat on average. As alternatives, I'd recommend Swift Destruction (Hephaestus, 10% damage bonus on normal mobility, can go up to 20% on Quick), Survival Instinct (Hades, generalized flat damage boost to everything (weapon, gift and drain) when under 50% HP) and Dark Impulse (Caster, dark gifts deal 30% damage while focused). -On a "all Successors dead" playthrough, get Dark Shout from Queen's Throat. It boosts the damage of the next gift by 50%, and it works on multi-hit ones too: not just on the first hit, all of them. Other worthy active buffs include things like Merciless Reaper (Assassin, debuffs physical resistance, which sounds weird, BUT all gifts have a physical type and a elemental type. Outliers are the sand gifts from Harmonia and Throat (Volatile Storm is mentioned, but special mention also goes to Sands of Depravity)) and Eva's and Mia's communal gifts. Gift Prowess (Harmonia, boosts casting speed for everyone) might be worth checking. -In the base game, Suicide Spur is the best bloodveil option. Frozen Empress brings a worthy competitor in the Subzero Shroud, which you get from dealing 20k damage with ONE attack. Alleviate Blackblood Liberator the moment you get it: this one, with the AWB, will bring you to Slow mobility if you don't. Regardless, for the bloodveils, either go for Alleviation (Prometheus chrome, trade with Louis) or Intensification (Heimdall Chrome, trade with Jack). Weapons? Devour (Artemis Chrome, trade with Mia). -Queen may be the best basegame code for a caster, but gets outclassed by Ymir from the Frozen Empress DLC. -When it comes to what gift to use: bring something spammable, an AoE and perhaps a nuke from Queen (maybe not Purging Thorn, because Blood is the most resisted element and Ymir can't equip it.) For a fourth active gift, I'd recommend Shifting Hollow (Ranger, a forward dash with i-frames worthy of a Quick roll for the low cost of one ichor point). Regardless, know your foe's resistances, physical and elemental, and tailor your gifts accordingly. -For consumables, I'd recommend the Mobility Enhancer (boosts mobility by one tier). However, treat it more as a damage up potion if anything, unless you can make those 30 seconds count, dodging-wise. -Partner-wise, if you need a tank, Io or Yakumo. DPS-wise, even if only for their communal gifts, Mia for the early game, then replace her with Eva. There it is, all the stuff that comes to mind. Hope the wall of text was worth reading.
Im trying to build a mage for code vein and im in the crypt spire entrance, I have all of the bloodcodes up to this point and have saved the successors up until now, can you recommend me some passives and active gifts to equip I also have all of the vestiges restored up until this point. I have a fortification suicide spur and argent wolf blade devour. I also have DLC
Also transforming your melee into a Devour weapon is a work around from using blood sacrifice to keep your Ichor up. Especially when bosses have a lot of hard to dodge range attacks you can just dodge inwards and smack them around a bit and roll back out and continue melting.
I'm surprised you didn't mention the Queen's Blood code for Willpower, especially because it probably has the most powerful dark-based gift, which is the homing thorns that tends to overkill most if not all trash mobs, and I would have thought you'd mention the gift Harmonia gives to speed up casting time, to make it far more bearable. Queen can easily get S+ in either Will or Mind, not sure if both are applicable, while maintaining a weapon of choice, but... eh, I don't know. I guess I'll just interpret this video as a basic dark-gift user, rather than a min/max type of dark-gift caster. Still good video.
Fex generally focuses on builds to play through with. To me what’s the point if a build based of a last boss item...the game is over. So I’m glad he does it this way
PSA: Merciless Reaper will increase spell damage without deactivating as long as you don't swing your weapon. It will also make Chaotic Ash regenerate 15 ichor instead of 10.
It's super important to note that you have to pay attention to the classification of your gifts to get the best returns in damage. Some spells are classified as Light based spells and will work better with armor that has high Mind rating. The elemental gifts are usually classified as Light types. While Fire is somewhere inbetween. I've also found that the Darkseeker roar has decent range and deals a ton of damage. Especially if you have the Dark improvement while focused passive equipped and the savvy dodge passive. Light is equal to holy magic in Dark Souls while Dark is closely related to a pyromancies. Darkseeker also gives ichor if you manage to poison the target with its one passive. It is really potent dot mage build that gives free returns on ichor if built properly. Mia's weapon is also a great choice because of the combo that backs you away from the target. Couple this with the sickle from the sewer boss and you can dodge in close and then swap to back out. These two weapons are good for a mixed build where you rely heavily on melee to build ichor. Also, stick with tank companions. Luoise is great starting out and for certain fights, but he loses validity later on when compared to other characters.
For DPS, you'd have more mileage out of Mia or Eva for their communal gifts. But yeah, Louis works better for melee specialists, same as Jack. Other than that, Yakumo or Io works better for anyone.
I find that the Queen blood code is a lot better for max damage output with dark type gifts, leaning more towards a glass cannon. While Harmonia is more ichor efficient than Queen. I made my own pure dark mage with queen and the damage output can be insane when you have suicide spur and S+ in willpower. A friend of mine has a build that is the definition of glass cannon, the damage output of his gifts is insane. The build you show here is still good. Keep up the great work. Id like you to do a queen dark mage build just to test.
The hybrid Artemis dext/willpower is by far the best mage build for me. Melt the ennemies with the A scaling in willpower, and when your ichors are low, go melee with some fast dext weapon (like Blazing Claw) to recover fastly ichors while still dealing some good damage with the A scaling. Moreover it's far funnier than just casting spells non stop, you get to play both gameplays. The pure Harmonia / [draining HP to get ichors] build just doesn't work for me. HP is the only limited and vital ressource in the game, what a terrible idea to drain it.
@@Firestari The idea is to do massive dark spells damage, and to refill quickly your ichors by hitting ennemies with a fast melee weapon (and doing drain attacks). For spells, get a blood code with high Willpower. The problem of Harmonia is that it doesn't allow you to equip any decent melee weapon. With Artemis, you do maybe 5% less spell damage, but you can equip a lot of different melee weapons, and it gives a A scaling in dext. Other decent choices are Isis, Scathatch, or the several queen bloodcodes (ribcage, claw, throat). But for this build the 2 best are Artemis and Queen (you get Queen only by finishing the game with good ending). For the blood veil, the two best for dark spells are Blackhood Liberator and Suicide Spur. They're more or less equals. For melee, get a weapon with a very fast moveset (like Queenslayer Blade), and infuse it with Devour with Artemis Chrome, it increases the drain rating. Also it's essential to use the Weapon Drain Rating Up passive.
"Don't be surprised if you die often." Me: Fortunately I don't die much. Dark Souls prepared me for this. Specializing in mage builds is fun. I'd like to point out that there are some strong Dark spells that are quite strong and can one shot certain strong enemies or deal massive damage to bosses weak to those particular dark spells. That being said it is true that its not going to work on everything and the mage being flexible is a very fortunate thing.
Good video. However, I need to point out that there is a 10 Mark of Honour reward Active Gift that increases both Willpower and Mind for 4 ichor which isnt mentioned. Also, combining Cleansing Light from Player's Code and Blood Sacrifice from Hunter, can net you 60+ ichor, as Cleansing Light heals most health required to cast Blood Sacrifice. My bottom wheel consists of these 3 setup buffs I mentioned as well as the life sharing ability depending if playing multiplayer or not, 4/5 offensive abilities is enough as some of them are not as ichor efficient as others so I don't use those.
I am currently playing a Dark Mage and there is one ability that I have fallen in love with: Purging Thorn. It shreds a boss's health, especially if they are weak to pierce. I am looking forward to seeing how powerful it will be with the Dark Shout buff (I have yet to get it as I always restored Eva).
Totally agree on Artemis being a better blood overall. Here's my build : Artemis with a +10 Brodiaea Fortification, a +10 Suicide Spur Fortification, Ice fire sanguine and lightning roars in the 4 first slots and Fusillade rondo, Jupiter's blade, Volatile storm and Gift Prowess in the 4 second slots. Passives are Bayonet mastery, Max Ichor boost, Blood grab and weapon drain rating up. Keep ichor concentrates and a pure blood on you for dire situations. Might not be optimal but it sure as hell destroys. Hope you enjoy !
Willpower scaling on weapons doesnt affect dmg(to clarify that is only there for the gift trigger as with mind). Also those 2 armor pieces you mentioned are exactly the same dark gift power, spur has higher light gift power though. Don't try this pure caster type build on NG+ difficulty, you'll still have to rely on melee for most bosses because stagger is much more effective that way and bosses seem a lot easier to avoid in close range. You'll still be spending a lot of time getting ichor back on any caster even with the ichor drain gift. So really you should make a build that has at least some focus on melee.
Why doesnt anyone use queen its so good Even comes with a skill that gives igor back for 1 igor gives 5 to 10 depending on how close you are to the enemy
@@Rubedoctoit does but barely since queen has will power and mind at A and the aoe skill hes using uses mind and will power making it disgustingly strong
@@Rubedocto thats the thing its not that worth there are two aoes that use light and dark that sand ones that do so much damage to everyboss because they are all non resistant to it while the pure dark just gives you plus 100 dark which tbh isnt a good trade off
@@dantegroover7649 yes however every other gift are just scaling on one and even if it's just 100 damage every gift will get a different amount of damage because of how scaling work so the damage will be better making it more versatile for all dark base gift
Using the skills that trade health for ichor is pretty bad unless you're a dodge god. Liberator Blood Veil + Artemis buff is 1.5 drain scaling and you get like 15 ichor back each time you drain a boss with quick (not charged) drain attack. Blow your load on a boss, hit it with 2 quick drain attacks, rinse and repeat. Basically infinite ichor but you can actually use your pots defensively.
Dogs blood veil double drain attack + passive goddes smile + passive (gain focus with drain attack) = hp regen. You can use it for tank builds or mage builds with hp sacrifice. But I advice you to use passives for improving blood drain with weapons and infused blood drain weapons. Also thee is an active buff for improeing blood drain, I use this for white mage attack build.
This is nice but what about the darkseeker blood code? That has a passive that works for a mage build, any enemy that takes venom damage will regen your ichor. If you are using a one handed sword as a safe guard to you then you could put the venom trait on the sword and melee them till you get the venom status place on them, your ichor does go up about a fair amount so its recommended for the bosses to get venom place on them.
Yes and this really works well actually for clearing areas. I find using a pure dark mage build is troublesome to manage resources without resting everytime you get to a new mistle, as opposed to my str build that can clear an entire area without resting
@@skeltaldelegate5408 Hmmm good point, different builds and different play styles, but we can all agree on one thing.....It is so much fun to kill thing with ease XD
Does the HP Regen gift from Queenslayer work well with the Blood Sacrifice and whatnot? 🤔 I feel like I run out of healing too quickly with just BS and no hitting foes, surely that helps right?
A bit late, but could you by any chance elaborate a bit more on why you picked Harmonia over Queen's Throat? I am having trouble deciding which one of them I want on my dark mage. Harmonia pro: higher willpower scaling (A+), continous spellcasting with supernatural blood, crowd control with the blade spell, heavy aoe with volatile storm. Harmonia con: supernatural blood drains your hp very quick, easy to stagger, no real damage buff. Throat pro: dark shout ( +50% dmg for your next gift, if gift multi hits all hits get affected), single target control with arm of set, heavy hitting aoe with sands of depravity ( has a higher scaling than volatile, 360% vs 420%). Throat con: lower willpower scaling (A), runs out of ichor quicker than Harmonia does, lower weight cap. Does Harmonia's Volatile Storm hit harder than Throat's Sands of Depravity? Or is Dark Shout not worth it? I also do not understand why you use Isis over Ribcage. The best spell from Isis ( the lightning bolt) is one you do not seem to use. Meanwhile Ribcage has higher willpower scaling and higher hitting spells ( and twilight can wipe out invasions all by itself or take 33% out of a boss hp, which makes the game a lot easier when you consider how early in the game you can get it)... Hopefully you are not offended, I am just trying to understand.
They are pretty much equal. Harmonia has a bit more weight capacity tho. The major difference is their unique skill. Harmonia's allow you to spend HP when you don't have ichor, while Throat's reduces the amount of ichor used while you are in focus state. Personally, I don't like the ratios for Supernatural Blood. The HP cost for skills are way too high. Unless you use some passives to boost focus, I don't think Throat's Ichor Reduction is worth either. I prefer Harmonia over Throat because it has more weight capacity. Also, since Harmonia has slightly better dex, I use 1 passive slot for str/dex increase and then I can equip Iceblood which has quite decent mind/willpower scaling. It's also one of my favorite swords =)
I had to come back to this video. I'm puzzled on either choice of transforming the Suicide Spur into Fortification to play it safe and get some extra damage in my spells or if I should use Intensification which lowers base stats for Light and Dark gifts and drain attack but greatly raises the Scaling? Seems risky to go with Intensification but that scaling seems promising. Up till now I have worked a bit to get this Dark Mage build to have decent damage. Its almost similar to the build in this video but I had a few different gifts in there to achieve the desired results. Has anyone else tried these transformations as a mage for any Blood Veil.
No. I like Ivory Grace (or suicide spur if you wanna try to squeeze out dark gift, but then things are slow) into devour, using avarice+drain rating+ buffs so I get 10+ when initiating fights, and like 12+ when I backstab or parry.
Blood sacrifice costs less than 500 life to give 6 ichor. Supernatural blood costs 100hp for 1 ichor. It's more efficient that way, and it's easier to manage high ichor cost without breaking a huge heal from cleansing light.
Can u do a Rouge Guide I like using one hand weapons and spears I like buff in my damage but also being mobile still dont understand how to use this sort of load out id love some help
Just curious if anyone's seeing this, would Harmonia or the code you get from the good ending be the best for spell casting? The code from the good ending has some strong spells and a spell designed to give you back ichor for as little as one ichor cast point and can also reach an S or S+ scale with buffs but Im not sure if that is better than Harmonia's stats or not. Anybody else got any thoughts?
I forgot to mention that there are a lot of useful passives and spells on the codes obtained from going through the bad ending path but I don't have those myself yet. One such spell is one that, like blow of madness, massively empowers the next spell.
Love your videos allways been intrested in mag builds in souls like games but I have never tryed them till now although I an stuck on blade bearer and cannoneer I'm not sure I'm I'm using the exact right gifts the passives I'm using are dexterity/willpower mind/willpower strength/willpower and max ichor boost I'm not sure what else to do I am kind of new to the game I have completed it once and just want to be able to do a full mag playthrough
This might be spoilers so . . . . . . . . Will you be making any build guides for alternate codes from bosses? Would be interested in seeing what builds are possible for the bad/middle endings instead of just the good ending.
How come i don't have Harmonia or Scathach blood codes? Ive beaten the game and can move on to NG+. I checked their boss arena's and there's nothing there
You need to get all vestiges of said person BEFORE you beat the successor. If you have bloodcodes like "Queen's ......" it means you haven't gotten all vestiges before you beat the successor. You have to use NG+ to go back before you beat them and find + read all their vestiges before beating them.
@@Fextralife I'm sorry I'm still a beginner so I might not be making any sense but, for example some Blood Veils have better Willpower Scaling but worse Dark Gift damage than others, I was just wondering whether I should prioritize Willpower Scaling over say Light or Dark gift damage for example or not
You need the Queen Bloodcode. It has the hardest hitting gifts in the game. It also is possible to get S scalling in will and mind (with 3 passives). You get the Queen Bloodcode from getting the Dweller in the dark ending (save all successors and give IO her memories)
code vein has to work on its stat requiremens in my strong opinion. i find it ridiculous how while wearing the harmonia blood code + the strength/willpower passive buff i am unable to wield Enduring Crimson (Loui's weapon,a one handed sword) but i am able to wield the zweihander, sunset greatsword, Impulse anchor, Sunset Hammer and Nagimukuro (all of these are two handed curved greatsword, ultra greatsword or great hammers) I hope they fix this in a future patch. Also, why does a two part passive buff increase the same amount than a single passive buff? strength/willpower increases my strength to D+ but Strength only passive buff also increases strength to D+. You'd think since it's a buff ONLY for strength and nothing else it would have a larger effect... :/
yes man Mukuro (the katana that looks like the Louis weapon). Or The Impaler, Queenslayer Halberd, or my personal favorite, the black spear(the one you get from Mido minions). I personally prefer using spears and Halberds because of the high ichor drain.
Nothing, you're fucked. That's not a joke, that's just how this works. I missed out completely on getting the ''true ending'' because I didn't collect all memories for Successor of breath.
Barokai Rein fucking same, I think I went there a bit too early and rushed through because that area was HORRIBLE on my first trip through, and missed a vestige. With I’d have gone to the claw first to get the scathach blood code because fire damage makes the mountains more manageable.
The actual veil type doesnt hold much bearing over what is optimal, it's all about willpower scaling for dark mages, mind scaling for light mages, and strength/dex for melee
Ivy type is better cause of scaling specially Suicide Spur with A rating plus the ranged blood drains, seriously, this game has bad AI when it comes to chasing you...
Wow, you play with no follower? I would get wrecked if I tried to do that, lol. I've been playing a sort of hybrid caster/swordsman who backstabs when possible to regain ichor. It seems like my follower sometimes does more damage than me. Sometimes he kills mobs before me and so I'll let him do the dirty work for me. This build looks really fun I'll have to give it a shot on my next play through. P.S I'm not really a souls like player. I've had to ask help from my friend to beat the two bosses I've encountered so far.
Ppl get mad bcoz NPC deal a lot of damage, you can even kill the boss with full npc as long as you keep him/her alive (in early game); sometimes steal aggro, and block your camera/screen; same reason for God Eater
Great guides but.. Is there a mage type guide for the first round woth the game? This is mostly ng+ I just reach the icy mountains and it seems. My. Hero is a little bit. Behind compared to the enemy :) Thanks for the advice
Attila Stadler if you’ve been unlocking every gift as you get blood codes and vestiges you should have some options like the blood shot, a few roars, a few spikes, and lightning barrage which is from the flood of impunity depth.
Wouldnt it be smarter to go for a typical str/tank build wich can be done fairly early and then play through the game once to start caster in ng+ when you have everything? Because some of the stuff you mention comes pretty late in the game and your footage (at least in part) is from ng+ :D
Not really, you generally want to try out different codes while leveling to see which ones you like and unlock all of their abilities so you can use them later with the optimal code
Well.. I have to say Harmonia does lots of damage but its stagger weakness means business. I do taken notice on Harmonia spells and passives, they are very nice for arming u to become pure mage. Nice AoE and knockback spell while boosting ur ichor usage. I am Queen BC user for build Caster type but I mostly mastering Harmonia spells for better AoE damage.
I've always loved your videos, but please consider - Just make one video that explains the basics, like how you can have 4 passives and 8 actives and what the veils are etc. Just reference that video in the beginning of the rest of them. I'm like halfway through the videos every time and getting the same explanation of how the basics work! I can't help but be like, yeah i know from the first 10 times you explained it in every single video! Just a thought. I don't like fastforwarding your videos because sometimes you sprinkle important info between the basics explanations, but it's getting tedious to listen to how many passives I can equip a hundred times a day!
It's for saving the successor after collecting all vestigers and having viewed it. After the boss fight instead of moving through the door you can opt to restore the memories. Otherwise you'll get one of the queen type blood codes.
I hope you are overleveld. The enemies look kind of weak. Are all spells just doing the same animation and then shooting a projectile with a different color? :/
no he just uses a lot of the same spells(But different elemental versions) there is a lot of unique looking spells he didn't really showcase except for the sand one, a few examples there is a spell that summons 2 blood swords on either side of you and smashes them on enemies in front, a spell that you punch the ground and create a massive fire explosion around you, one where you summon a dozen spikes of wood around you and launch them at an enemy and more etc... as for the overlevel thing not sure but honestly most enemies just get destroyed by caster or 2h not sure about 1h melee never played but you kinda wreck nearly everything except for the big elite ones most enemies have pretty low hp I'd say though they can do a surprising amount of damage if they get to hit you.
1. Every skill and spell has a different animation so no, incorrect. 2. This game is like Sekiro/The Surge in terms of difficulty so don't go making assumptions 👍
At work so haven't watched whole thing yet but why are we using a sunset sword with no willpower stat scaling at all? Should be using a bayonet with C++ willpower for more dark gift damage. Harmonia can equip some.
every weapon with willpower scaling only affects it's heavy attacks eg: gunshots. these are the heavy attacks that spend ichor. offensive dark gifts scale with the willpower scaling of the veil and code.
@@Gration_ When you search the term on google it also has the pronounciation button. No matter what dictionary link is chosen they all say "eye-core". Either way no big deal tomato tomato, to each their own I guess..

My man
I love how I can refer to your channel anytime I need help with my game. Stay awesome!
No mention of cleansing light to help with the idea of using health to gain ichor?
Also transforming your melee into a Devour weapon is a work around from using blood sacrifice to keep your Ichor up. Especially when bosses have a lot of hard to dodge range attacks you can just dodge inwards and smack them around a bit and roll back out and continue melting.
Lot of stuff goin on in this game, this helped clear a few things up for sure. Nice work :)
It will only work if the enemy has a weakness to pierce. Merciless reaper quadruples weaknesses, so that is why the ichor return is greater.
Id like you to do a queen dark mage build just to test.
tell me your skills please
Very nice build.
Looking forward for your riffle shooter build guide)
Keep going!

Thanks for the guide! I'm trying out a swift mage build with high mobility.
What did u use?

Ah another danganronpa fan :)
I'd like to know more about your build then please! Maybe you can message me or something? Please and thank you :)
I do exactly this hell I'm using the crimson longsword still and I'm near the end just because it hits the fastest without the bayonet move set I hate
The tao of doing it is you're staying far away from the enemy anyways so you're hopefully mostly just draining your own HP
Thank you for this build! I’m playing as a caster so I appreciate it 😁
"Don't be surprised if you die often."
Me: Fortunately I don't die much.
I had a pyro/paladin build that was so op on DS I wanted to try it at this game
God your basement dwelling neckbeard aura is just something
Harmonia can't use cleansing light, hence why this build isn't "pure" caster as he says.
@@oninomiru Throw on passive vit/mind and your good to go
I wonder if u can add life steal in that and hopefully one shot everything and really never lose health?
2:22 See what you did there.
I am currently playing a Dark Mage and there is one ability that I have fallen in love with: Purging Thorn. It shreds a boss's health, especially if they are weak to pierce. I am looking forward to seeing how powerful it will be with the Dark Shout buff (I have yet to get it as I always restored Eva).
god i love Emily's fire build, its so fun
Make one for counter, backstab, mid R1+X combo. Wanted to make a scorpion tail badass character. S2
i fell like parring in this game is so off...
Why doesnt anyone use queen its so good
Even comes with a skill that gives igor back for 1 igor gives 5 to 10 depending on how close you are to the enemy
The queen have strong gift but once mastered you should just put it on Harmonia because Harmonia have a higher willpower scaling
@@Rubedoctoit does but barely since queen has will power and mind at A and the aoe skill hes using uses mind and will power making it disgustingly strong
@@dantegroover7649 in terms of pure dark magic for attack the Harmonia is just better if it's a power dark and light then yes queen is better
Will you make a guides for finding Vestiges?
Using the skills that trade health for ichor is pretty bad unless you're a dodge god. Liberator Blood Veil + Artemis buff is 1.5 drain scaling and you get like 15 ichor back each time you drain a boss with quick (not charged) drain attack. Blow your load on a boss, hit it with 2 quick drain attacks, rinse and repeat. Basically infinite ichor but you can actually use your pots defensively.
I love it when David Wang tells me to 'Blow my load on a boss'
I've read that Queens Throat is good for dark/light
Dogs blood veil double drain attack + passive goddes smile + passive (gain focus with drain attack) = hp regen. You can use it for tank builds or mage builds with hp sacrifice.
But I advice you to use passives for improving blood drain with weapons and infused blood drain weapons. Also thee is an active buff for improeing blood drain, I use this for white mage attack build.
Thanks for the info , really helpful
Why use Blood Sacrifice when Harmonia has Supernatural Blood? It seems like a more convenient version of the same skill.
Blood sacrifice costs less than 500 life to give 6 ichor. Supernatural blood costs 100hp for 1 ichor. It's more efficient that way, and it's easier to manage high ichor cost without breaking a huge heal from cleansing light.

@@yargolocus4853 I thought Supernatural Blood let you use Gifts by spending HP directly instead?

Life Steal with Blood Sacrifice is nice
Gonna probably to make a spellsword build. Guess Artemis is my go to.

Will you be making any build guides for alternate codes from bosses? Would be interested in seeing what builds are possible for the bad/middle endings instead of just the good ending.
Is there any Light Mage build since Astrea got a Light damage spell ? Astrea is the white Mia Blood Code.
Can you do a dps glass cannon build next?
How come i don't have Harmonia or Scathach blood codes? Ive beaten the game and can move on to NG+. I checked their boss arena's and there's nothing there
You need to get all vestiges of said person BEFORE you beat the successor. If you have bloodcodes like "Queen's ......" it means you haven't gotten all vestiges before you beat the successor. You have to use NG+ to go back before you beat them and find + read all their vestiges before beating them.
When it comes to Blood Veils, should I give up Dark Gift damage for Willpower scaling ? Like Suicide Spur for example
Dark Gift Damage is increased because of Willpower Scaling on your Blood Veil, so I'm not sure what you're asking.
@@Fextralife I'm sorry I'm still a beginner so I might not be making any sense but, for example some Blood Veils have better Willpower Scaling but worse Dark Gift damage than others, I was just wondering whether I should prioritize Willpower Scaling over say Light or Dark gift damage for example or not
well i got a question about the blood codes listed, wouldn't Isis work pretty much the same as artemis?
Yes
You need the Queen Bloodcode. It has the hardest hitting gifts in the game. It also is possible to get S scalling in will and mind (with 3 passives).
You get the Queen Bloodcode from getting the Dweller in the dark ending (save all successors and give IO her memories)
doesnt a sword attack negate "Pure" caster
I used this template for my ice/fire(mainly ice) mage build
Do you have a build that is reminiscent of God Eater?
Just a fun build.
Very good video
code vein has to work on its stat requiremens in my strong opinion. i find it ridiculous how while wearing the harmonia blood code + the strength/willpower passive buff i am unable to wield Enduring Crimson (Loui's weapon,a one handed sword) but i am able to wield the zweihander, sunset greatsword, Impulse anchor, Sunset Hammer and Nagimukuro (all of these are two handed curved greatsword, ultra greatsword or great hammers) I hope they fix this in a future patch. Also, why does a two part passive buff increase the same amount than a single passive buff? strength/willpower increases my strength to D+ but Strength only passive buff also increases strength to D+. You'd think since it's a buff ONLY for strength and nothing else it would have a larger effect... :/
Anyone know a good weapon for this build
yes man
Mukuro (the katana that looks like the Louis weapon).
Or
The Impaler, Queenslayer Halberd, or my personal favorite, the black spear(the one you get from Mido minions).
I personally prefer using spears and Halberds because of the high ichor drain.
So what do you do if you collected the memories AFTER defeating the boss? (I missed one)
Nothing, you're fucked. That's not a joke, that's just how this works. I missed out completely on getting the ''true ending'' because I didn't collect all memories for Successor of breath.
yeah i got fucked too. sucks
Barokai Rein fucking same, I think I went there a bit too early and rushed through because that area was HORRIBLE on my first trip through, and missed a vestige. With I’d have gone to the claw first to get the scathach blood code because fire damage makes the mountains more manageable.
@@BarokaiRein so what 3 endings? Kill em all, Kill a couple and save em all?
could you do a comparison video on the blood veil types? my impression is scorpion = mages but I don't have any numbers
The actual veil type doesnt hold much bearing over what is optimal, it's all about willpower scaling for dark mages, mind scaling for light mages, and strength/dex for melee
Ivy type is better cause of scaling specially Suicide Spur with A rating plus the ranged blood drains, seriously, this game has bad AI when it comes to chasing you...
random question , but does anyone know if you can play co-op in this game with a friend?
Yes you can, 2-players via online
Nice. thanks for the reply. me and my friend love playing monster hunter together and this looks similar mechanics but with a more anime styled look
Thanks!
Hybrid build next pls
Wow, you play with no follower? I would get wrecked if I tried to do that, lol. I've been playing a sort of hybrid caster/swordsman who backstabs when possible to regain ichor. It seems like my follower sometimes does more damage than me. Sometimes he kills mobs before me and so I'll let him do the dirty work for me.
This build looks really fun I'll have to give it a shot on my next play through.
P.S I'm not really a souls like player. I've had to ask help from my friend to beat the two bosses I've encountered so far.
Ppl get mad bcoz NPC deal a lot of damage, you can even kill the boss with full npc as long as you keep him/her alive (in early game); sometimes steal aggro, and block your camera/screen; same reason for God Eater
souls players are too used to going solo and having a partner that gets in your way and view feels weird
Sooooo what’s the build?
Just use the gift accelerator passive and the life steal passive
Chaotic Ash is good for quick ichor bit it has a short range

I just reach the icy mountains and it seems. My. Hero is a little bit. Behind compared to the enemy :)
Thanks for the advice
Attila Stadler if you’ve been unlocking every gift as you get blood codes and vestiges you should have some options like the blood shot, a few roars, a few spikes, and lightning barrage which is from the flood of impunity depth.
Wouldnt it be smarter to go for a typical str/tank build wich can be done fairly early and then play through the game once to start caster in ng+ when you have everything?
Because some of the stuff you mention comes pretty late in the game and your footage (at least in part) is from ng+ :D
Early on you focus on hybrid builds to play mage. you combine prometheus with caster.
Does it matter what Blood Veil & Blood Code you have equipped when you're leveling up?
Not really, you generally want to try out different codes while leveling to see which ones you like and unlock all of their abilities so you can use them later with the optimal code

Thanks. Luckily I have yet to spend any resources on blood veils.
Well.. I have to say Harmonia does lots of damage but its stagger weakness means business.
I do taken notice on Harmonia spells and passives, they are very nice for arming u to become pure mage. Nice AoE and knockback spell while boosting ur ichor usage.

You can always read the article that is easier to skip :)
Bruh i beat the game and collected all the blood vestiges for harmonia and i still dont have it????
