During my first run of Code Vein, I kept myself blind to everything so I could get the full experience, while I was experimenting with Blood Codes and weapons, I was noticing that a lot of bosses were getting staggered from 2 handers quite often, even without set up, so I am kind of looking forward to trying this build. Thanks for posting this guide, this helped quite a bit.
I took this build, appropriated it to work with hades, higher initial damage, better spell power, but lower balance. It allows me to have a normal dodge using the zweihander, or the argent wolf Kings blade. It also means I hit like a truck while being able to take a bunch of hits. But the build works best for mowing down enemies in the non boss areas. It’s likely not as effective as this for blocking, however for someone who learnt to dodge roll a heap and sometimes forgets blocking is a thing (blame sunset overdrive and mad max for that) it really helps. So a much more all rounder, basically queenslayer but heavyweight
@@lawlestest I thought so too at first but after watching some videos and just testint around I could see the difference, be it having longer dodge or faster hits, its surprisingly deep but it is convoluted as hell
@@lawlestest Prometheus is the all rounder Blood Code, so everything else will seem weaker because they're more specialized. If you want to be fast and do decent damage then Prometheus is your go to. If you want higher damage or more defense, you pick something like Atlas or Berserker. If you want range you pick Hunter. Speed, you pick Assassin. Magic, you pick Caster or something like that. You get the point. Each Blood Code offers something useful and boasts stats that promote the play style it offers.
I just randomly equipped Zweihänder while trying to master Atlas gifts and noticed that I started hitting like a truck. I really like the idea of playing the heavy tank now, so thanks for the guide!

literal build i was looking for thank you. This games learning curve (especially for those of us who didn't play any or much of Dark Souls) is kinda brutal i was getting a bit discouraged playing last night.

Going to say, the Queen BloodCode is a good alternative to Harmonia, you can still get it to S+ willpower and it comes with all around better stats. Also the Queen BloodCode has a skill called Chaotic Ash (I believe?) that is an absolute necessity for any caster, it's a projectile that for the cost of one Ichor allows you to steal Ichor from enemies (seems to be around 8 each time it's used in my experience, don't know if the amount changes based on the enemy but either way it's great) and so is a far better and safer alternative to sacrificing your health with the Harmonia skill (with the health you lose with it being very substantial).
My fav Build !. Very solid build and easy to use for beginner like me, at the end game i use EOS for more ichor, still work as tanker build but not solid like Atlas.

I have an Eos settup where it's a tank / buff support hybrid, in which the playstyle isn't going in head on as the main front of the attack, but mostly focused on surviving, getting back ichor, and removing debuffs and / or buffing players / weapons.
Doing my first blind play through currently and decided to see what other people might have done with a similar build to mine. I did something similar to this but was more glass cannon with overall less HP and defense, with two handed sword (Oni Bane, love this bad boy) and the Atlas code. Managed to at least get a mid roll from reducing the weight of my Veil (currently just GXH storm, not far enough for the perfect veil yet) and I’m just a dodgy fkn two handed bastard. It’s awesome
That’s how I run my build for the first half or even the second half of my runs. Then on the second play through I will use a late game code to run the perfect two hand bastard build. High damage, but I’ll be damned if you can actually hit me back. And using a good weapon for blocking really helps, as I can basically negate the two most common damage types completely, and not worry about having a slow roll
You just might've saved me from giving up on this game. I wanted to be a heavy hitting tank but was finding it difficult , hearing about the Zwie though just got my hopes up.
how were you finding it difficult? theres numerous tank blood codes and numerous heavy blades/hammers. so you were going to give up before you even got to the zwie because you cant read? i dont understand.
@@newp0rt I've never played a game where the 2nd boss trashes me 20 times. So yea I was about to give up on this game. I never played Dark Souls. I play games like Monster Hunter World and Killing Floor 2. Ive never had a game slam me with a difficulty wall like this. I got stuck on the second boss and just spent a night dieing over and over and over.
@@p-y8210 yea I know every souls vet has told me that this game is EZ PZ. But its still hard for someone whos used to facerolling games likes Halo , MHW, Call of Duty etc.
i've been playing solo mage for half the game, it was fun and challenging. Switched to 2 hander and found it game breaking OP where you don't even need to try that hard.
Ya the game isn't forgiving on magesif you go magic route. However using two handed tanks breaks the game till late game where bosses can speed rush you. So far after i got scathe code and red nail. I rush through enemies because of the increase in fire damage and fire weapon i use
Nice build. I'm currently experimenting with Caster and Darkseeker gifts. It seems potent, but you need to get up close for ichor and to bring up your focus for extra damage, which is a major drawback for a glass cannon.
You can get "use health instead of ichor" passives, then get a high blood drain weapon. Parry and back stabs will get you lot of ichor back. There's a passive to dodge and get ichor as well
I don't have all the codes. But I started with Fighter until I got Atlas and it feels the best imo. Idk... I'm a Dark souls Ultra Greatsword guy so I've only been using greatswords. I may try bayonets soon. Just gotta get the rest of the stamps then I will move on to a new play through.
I am using Atlas currently. I am lv 50 with S+ Strength and Vitality. I am also using Yakumo's Oni Blade. With this build I can take down most enemies in 1-2 hits. My skills and passives though are more for damage output then defense.
@@bigpoppa9721 Yes, I had it pretty early on. You can grind the Depths maps for "Old World Materials". Use them to trade Crossroads merchant for gifts. If you buy the blood drop candy, it is worth 3 points. If you give 10 to Yakumo, thats 30 points. The weapon is 50, so it didn't take very long.
@@bigpoppa9721 theres a chart you can google for which valuables give most points for which npc, npc weapons are pretty easy to get once you have depths access
It seems like this game has no animation canceling or i-frames and long animations. I like it, but it just seems like doing attacks, using gifts, and using items leave you super vulnerable especially when facing multiple opponents.
It's actually hilarious how busted strength weapons are in this game. Atm I'm around level 60 and using atlas code and +6 greatsword a normal light attack deals like 2000 damage. Meanwhile casting stronger spells with something like Isis deals about as much even though they use resources, take time to cast and they leave you vulnerable for a moment. I'm still playing mostly as a caster type since I just think that magic is cooler than weapons and spells aren't weak either but whenever I want to just faceroll a boss or smth I'll bust out my greatsword, get some buffs going and do about 10 000 damage with a single charged heavy attack. Just as a reminded Atlast isn't even a damage dealing Code. Later on you can get codes that focus on dealing damage with heavy weapons and holy hell it get's even stronger. Btw I know full well that you could probably one shot most if not all bosses if you stack all buffs but I think that str builds make the game so easy already that I don't really see the difference.
More tips: 1.) You can get 100% block without Zweihander pretty easily with the "Steady Bulwark" ability from the Hermes Blood Code which you get fairly early in the game. This won't work very well on a light weapon like a 1-h sword but it works perfectly for any of the lighter heavy weapons. 2.) I'll reiterate the tip about going for the backstab. You can breeze through most single enemy encounters by going for the backstab. However, I would recommend that instead of just blocking and then dodging behind for the backstab, to start with the dodge on the first swing, and then immediately block, since a lot of swings still hit behind them, while strafing to try to keep their backs in front of you, and then go immediately for the backstab once their combo finishes. This is so you are already in position to backstab as soon as they stop their combo. This doesn't work with light 1-h weapons since the blocking part is crucial for this to work, or slow, fat rolling tanks, since being able to dodge into position is also crucial. 3.) Enemy Ganks can be one of the hardest parts to deal with for tanks, since they tend to also be very quick and hard to hit. Best thing to do is either get a weapon that has AoE and doesn't just swing/slice down (most hammers basically) but swings sideways, or use a skill with AoE, such as Tormenting Blast from the Atlas Blood Code. You can also try a trap, but I've had trouble getting statuses to proc on bigger enemies. Perhaps with the right build they would be a good option. 4.) Quick bosses can also be tough, since they dodge out of your swings a lot. A good weapon for this is either the Obliterator Axe (which is actually a halbard/polearm despite the name) with it's A scaling in Str, or proper usage of skills. Anytime a boss is down you want to try and unload on them with skills if you can. I usually do Dragon Lunge + Torrent Blast. 5.) You'll want to change up your partner depending on the situation, but having another heavy weapon user with you can be really helpful since their weapon staggers the opponent along with yours. I like having Ios for exploring and then Yakumo (reluctantly because I hate his character) for bosses.

Have you tried using a greatsword? It's actually ridiculous how strong strength weapons are when using something like atlas,which isn't even designed specifically for damage. I just hit a boss for 10 000 damage with a single charged heavy with just one or two active buffs,which is more than 3 times as much as something like Draconic Steak does when using optimized dark mage build. I mainly play a mage build myself too but my god they don't even compare to Strength builds,which faceroll over everything without having to spend any resources at all.
What spells you favouring atm trying to give a mage build a go but coming off a 2h playthrough it's been tough going from such an op monster to caster.
after finsihing Bloodborne and Dark soul 3, i played this game , and my first build was using Luois code with Halberd. but then i got atlas code, when i was testing and get familiar with opitions i stuck with Zweh and desrroyed everything , i was not aware of his block (i played the game without blocking at all Lol) untill i read Hints 😂 i knew, then start test weapons and read stats. yeah i was cursing the game and mock it (soul gamer😗). i rarely get killed, but fall like snow 🤣 after i read 100 defence i went to google( fastest way to get info i was against it at first i wanted to play without googling stuff). then know what to do, now i am end of the game (before fighting Cruse father) i am mastering codes and doing a mage build. I manged to do a hypered melee and mage build with Queenslayer code. but still need mastering and testing stuff.
Zwehandler is still better for raw damage and defense, if only by a little. but wolf king blade with devour is a very good weapon to still pair with it.
Im looking for a much stronger build but turns out you were running the same build as I do the difference is I dont really spec on guard. Atlas or Isis code + Queenslayer GS kills mobs like 1 hit. Either do a running attack or do the wide swing R1+ weak attack. EZ MOBS LOL
I'm guessing it has to do with being an "Agility Tank" in a sense, wherein you draw aggro but you don't get hit, so in a way, you ARE tanking, you just aren't getting hit/losing HP for it.
It gives back from what I’ve seen, health back proportional to your light gift. Atlas has very low light scaling, so that skill is far less potent. It gives back ~75% of the health when using hades. But only 40-50% with atlas
Kind of missing some important info here, it shows it on screen but no actual explanation on the fortified zweihander, which I did fortunately know about. Not sure what armor is being used. Also no offensive moves explained despite being shown on the screen? What are those from? I already have a tank build I'm trying to refine but this didn't help much.

I don't think you'll be disappointed with the amount of content / map size in the game. It's probably one of the games strong points, really. There are a lot of maps and they are quite large. Maybe even too large. Some of the maps are like labyrinths. They are pretty challenging to 100% complete since they are very easy to get lost in. For content, if you've played dark souls or bloodborne, it's generally the same kind of thing, but it arguably has a lot more build variety and skills than a Fromsoft game and it has multiple endings and new game+ that have harder difficulties, so plenty of things to do and it'll take a long time to complete just the main game depending on how good of a player you are. The one caveat to content is maybe multiplayer. I haven't done multiplayer myself but I've heard some people complain about it. Story is mixed, some people love it some people hate it. I fall into the latter, even though I usually like anime stories.
It's completely different from divinity so it's hard to compare the two but it's definitely fun. This game does offer alot of different builds depend on play style and the difficulty can be adjusted by having a companion or not, which companion u want and changing of difficulty after completing the game. The map are big but it's linear in a sense of there is a specific path you need to go to complete your objective however you will always detour and try to explore other stuffs and farm extra mat etc...
It seems Fionn would be the best for heavy two handed weapons since it has highest balanced for end game. Which I don’t have because I already beat the boss before getting the vestige......😔
aside from the minuscule defense changes and roll speed what exactly does changing blood veils even do? They all give different stat scaling but ive been sitting at the dummy for like 30 minutes trying to see what they do. so far i see no changes with any veil
Propably pointless for you know william, but for knew players just getting the game like I had recently, I recommend promethus over warrior, if you are looking for HP, on a slightly faster code.
Is there a reason you use Iron Will and Royal Heart instead of Dogged Fighter and Foulblood Barrier? How are these abilities even any different from one another anyway? Apart from required stats - both of which are pretty much guaranteed to be met with this build - the only difference I actually see is Dogged Fighter's cooldown. But there's no information in-game about the strength of each skill, etc. Additionally, how the heck does Guard Reversal work? I can't seem to use it correctly. I have no idea what I'm doing with it. It doesn't matter what part of the animation an enemy attacks me, I eat a full eat and get staggered, and the enemy keeps on swinging.
Then after atlas blood code you evolve to hades blood code for tanking Also the kings greatsword you get from the final boss is a step up in damage from the zweihander
I'm a bit confused on how the guard reversal works. do you time it, or cast it, and it provides a counter move when you block? I've only pulled off a counter once and I don't know how to do it again.
Guard Reversal is a active gift that when struck while guarding, the enemy will stagger. Just use it like a buff and block enemy attacks and they will stagger sometimes. I don't believe it counter attacks like a parry.

How would you get the Zweilhander blocking 100% Physical Attacks? I have it but I still take damage. I just started playing the game. Do I need fortification?
I’m late game and even since the begging I have been burning through enemies as a strength build I don’t worry as much about balance just dps and normal rolls it’s insanely overpower if you just pump strength passives I can do like 25 k damage in 10 seconds shit is wild
Yeah I didn't try any strength builds until I got dark knight blood code, you hit like a truck with high strength scaling and all the buffs you get from that blood code. I was easily hitting like 2k damage per hit on some enemies. Lol Now I'm currently using Scathach because Crimson Moon and Fourfold Verdict are the best blood code abilities I have found so far, ridiculous amount of burst damage.
@@coolnobodycares true but using that every bossfight would be boring af. Most games when it comes to bosses have a easy ass way to deal with them but it's up to the player if they use it or not.
Is there different weapons to duscover throughout the game? I got 1 of all weapon types already and keep getting same weapon drops from enemies. I am early game still so idk if there is more to look forward too or not? Also if there is different weapins do they have different movesets or just the same but weapon looks different?
Yes there is more weapons to discover and yes they have different movesets even if it's only a slight change. Boss weapons in particular all have unique strong attacks.

Im having a blast but having a little struggle here and there soloing but im determined to solo the game cuz I honestly don't like the npc co op that much as it makes the game a little too easy. Its more challenging than I expected solo and at least as im still fairly weak and basic and only level 18. Just got through a huge level and died to the very last enemy which of course is that damn big fat lady that does a damn Smough Smash on my face with a big boinker. The timing of her attacks is so awkward. 😆 Haven't felt rage like this in a long time, bringing back those Souls memories. I also got some different variations of weapons. Still trying to understand how this weight management system works though as it's a little confusing for me. I cant use some tanky weapons because it makes me fat roll but I gotta mess around with diffrrent blood codes I think that allow for more weight. Idk exactly what the requirements are but im sure ill figure it out.
Is there is a way to heal without the use of items? I been having issues with progression at times just because I have to backtrack and restock on healing and face the same lost all over again.
I believe this is one of those games that depends on the playstyle? Like, there are bosses I can easily defeat, and then there are those I can't but my hubby can. So I guess experiment?
I think that it's a limited thing, maybe he resets it after certain events but not much info is known about it, check if he trades it after every big event and if he doesn't then it's probably not available until ng+

@bombflo1 yeah I didn't know passives can be carried over to other blood codes and I have to equip them until I beat the invading executioner, face-palm
@bombflo1 I finished dark souls 1 and dark souls 3 so this game is not that hard, but I still died quite a few times, so this game will probably be VERY hard for souls beginners

use blood code with fast base mobility that still allows room for 2 handed weapon, pick the lightest blood veil you can find and make it lighter. EDIT: oh and dont get hit

Life Steal & Cleansing Light are perfect for the Immortal/Tank build. Resilent Focus can be interchanged with Guard Drain Rating Up.

The damage is less of a big deal if you activate cleansing light (which honestly is probably one of the best gifts in the game regardless)

I went arcane warrior using the QS code dawn spear and crimson longsword.

i've been playing solo mage for half the game, it was fun and challenging. Switched to 2 hander and found it game breaking OP where you don't even need to try that hard.

Ya the game isn't forgiving on magesif you go magic route. However using two handed tanks breaks the game till late game where bosses can speed rush you. So far after i got scathe code and red nail. I rush through enemies because of the increase in fire damage and fire weapon i use
Nice build. I'm currently experimenting with Caster and Darkseeker gifts. It seems potent, but you need to get up close for ichor and to bring up your focus for extra damage, which is a major drawback for a glass cannon.
You can get "use health instead of ichor" passives, then get a high blood drain weapon. Parry and back stabs will get you lot of ichor back. There's a passive to dodge and get ichor as well
I don't have all the codes. But I started with Fighter until I got Atlas and it feels the best imo. Idk... I'm a Dark souls Ultra Greatsword guy so I've only been using greatswords. I may try bayonets soon. Just gotta get the rest of the stamps then I will move on to a new play through.

I am using Atlas currently. I am lv 50 with S+ Strength and Vitality. I am also using Yakumo's Oni Blade. With this build I can take down most enemies in 1-2 hits. My skills and passives though are more for damage output then defense.

@@bigpoppa9721 Yes, I had it pretty early on. You can grind the Depths maps for "Old World Materials". Use them to trade Crossroads merchant for gifts. If you buy the blood drop candy, it is worth 3 points. If you give 10 to Yakumo, thats 30 points. The weapon is 50, so it didn't take very long.

It seems like this game has no animation canceling or i-frames and long animations.
I like it, but it just seems like doing attacks, using gifts, and using items leave you super vulnerable especially when facing multiple opponents.

It's actually hilarious how busted strength weapons are in this game. Atm I'm around level 60 and using atlas code and +6 greatsword a normal light attack deals like 2000 damage. Meanwhile casting stronger spells with something like Isis deals about as much even though they use resources, take time to cast and they leave you vulnerable for a moment.
I'm still playing mostly as a caster type since I just think that magic is cooler than weapons and spells aren't weak either but whenever I want to just faceroll a boss or smth I'll bust out my greatsword, get some buffs going and do about 10 000 damage with a single charged heavy attack. Just as a reminded Atlast isn't even a damage dealing Code. Later on you can get codes that focus on dealing damage with heavy weapons and holy hell it get's even stronger.
Btw I know full well that you could probably one shot most if not all bosses if you stack all buffs but I think that str builds make the game so easy already that I don't really see the difference.
Strength builds are always cheese builds
What blood codes do you use for more damage as far as I can tell Atlas gives me the largest damage number for my 2h greatsword.

More tips:
1.) You can get 100% block without Zweihander pretty easily with the "Steady Bulwark" ability from the Hermes Blood Code which you get fairly early in the game. This won't work very well on a light weapon like a 1-h sword but it works perfectly for any of the lighter heavy weapons.
2.) I'll reiterate the tip about going for the backstab. You can breeze through most single enemy encounters by going for the backstab. However, I would recommend that instead of just blocking and then dodging behind for the backstab, to start with the dodge on the first swing, and then immediately block, since a lot of swings still hit behind them, while strafing to try to keep their backs in front of you, and then go immediately for the backstab once their combo finishes. This is so you are already in position to backstab as soon as they stop their combo. This doesn't work with light 1-h weapons since the blocking part is crucial for this to work, or slow, fat rolling tanks, since being able to dodge into position is also crucial.
3.) Enemy Ganks can be one of the hardest parts to deal with for tanks, since they tend to also be very quick and hard to hit. Best thing to do is either get a weapon that has AoE and doesn't just swing/slice down (most hammers basically) but swings sideways, or use a skill with AoE, such as Tormenting Blast from the Atlas Blood Code. You can also try a trap, but I've had trouble getting statuses to proc on bigger enemies. Perhaps with the right build they would be a good option.
4.) Quick bosses can also be tough, since they dodge out of your swings a lot. A good weapon for this is either the Obliterator Axe (which is actually a halbard/polearm despite the name) with it's A scaling in Str, or proper usage of skills. Anytime a boss is down you want to try and unload on them with skills if you can. I usually do Dragon Lunge + Torrent Blast.
5.) You'll want to change up your partner depending on the situation, but having another heavy weapon user with you can be really helpful since their weapon staggers the opponent along with yours. I like having Ios for exploring and then Yakumo (reluctantly because I hate his character) for bosses.

Have you tried using a greatsword? It's actually ridiculous how strong strength weapons are when using something like atlas,which isn't even designed specifically for damage. I just hit a boss for 10 000 damage with a single charged heavy with just one or two active buffs,which is more than 3 times as much as something like Draconic Steak does when using optimized dark mage build. I mainly play a mage build myself too but my god they don't even compare to Strength builds,which faceroll over everything without having to spend any resources at all.
What spells you favouring atm trying to give a mage build a go but coming off a 2h playthrough it's been tough going from such an op monster to caster.
Yeah but for long areas, you're gonna want to use just melee for sustain

after finsihing Bloodborne and Dark soul 3, i played this game , and my first build was using Luois code with Halberd. but then i got atlas code, when i was testing and get familiar with opitions i stuck with Zweh and desrroyed everything , i was not aware of his block (i played the game without blocking at all Lol) untill i read Hints 😂 i knew, then start test weapons and read stats. yeah i was cursing the game and mock it (soul gamer😗). i rarely get killed, but fall like snow 🤣
after i read 100 defence i went to google( fastest way to get info i was against it at first i wanted to play without googling stuff). then know what to do, now i am end of the game (before fighting Cruse father) i am mastering codes and doing a mage build. I manged to do a hypered melee and mage build with Queenslayer code. but still need mastering and testing stuff.
Somehow I experimented with the build and made something with both tankiness and damage efficiency

Zwehandler is still better for raw damage and defense, if only by a little. but wolf king blade with devour is a very good weapon to still pair with it.

Im looking for a much stronger build but turns out you were running the same build as I do the difference is I dont really spec on guard. Atlas or Isis code + Queenslayer GS kills mobs like 1 hit. Either do a running attack or do the wide swing R1+ weak attack. EZ MOBS LOL

I'm guessing it has to do with being an "Agility Tank" in a sense, wherein you draw aggro but you don't get hit, so in a way, you ARE tanking, you just aren't getting hit/losing HP for it.
I use queenslayer's gift which heals a portion of damage dealt to you so technically immortality :D
It gives back from what I’ve seen, health back proportional to your light gift. Atlas has very low light scaling, so that skill is far less potent. It gives back ~75% of the health when using hades. But only 40-50% with atlas
Kind of missing some important info here, it shows it on screen but no actual explanation on the fortified zweihander, which I did fortunately know about. Not sure what armor is being used. Also no offensive moves explained despite being shown on the screen? What are those from?

Thanks man your a beast. I'm watching your videos about this game to see if I buy it or not. I'm starting to like it, coming from a 200 + hours from Divine Divinity 2. How big is the content / map on this game?
I don't think you'll be disappointed with the amount of content / map size in the game. It's probably one of the games strong points, really. There are a lot of maps and they are quite large. Maybe even too large. Some of the maps are like labyrinths. They are pretty challenging to 100% complete since they are very easy to get lost in. For content, if you've played dark souls or bloodborne, it's generally the same kind of thing, but it arguably has a lot more build variety and skills than a Fromsoft game and it has multiple endings and new game+ that have harder difficulties, so plenty of things to do and it'll take a long time to complete just the main game depending on how good of a player you are. The one caveat to content is maybe multiplayer. I haven't done multiplayer myself but I've heard some people complain about it. Story is mixed, some people love it some people hate it. I fall into the latter, even though I usually like anime stories.
It's completely different from divinity so it's hard to compare the two but it's definitely fun. This game does offer alot of different builds depend on play style and the difficulty can be adjusted by having a companion or not, which companion u want and changing of difficulty after completing the game. The map are big but it's linear in a sense of there is a specific path you need to go to complete your objective however you will always detour and try to explore other stuffs and farm extra mat etc...

This is a good one for the beginning of the game but latter on you well need a better one this well get you killed easily
aside from slight changes, to the over all skill load up, this build actually carried me through basically the whole game.

aside from the minuscule defense changes and roll speed what exactly does changing blood veils even do? They all give different stat scaling but ive been sitting at the dummy for like 30 minutes trying to see what they do. so far i see no changes with any veil

Regenerator is way better than 2h mastery for a tank build since you are going to be taking dmg from blocking.

Propably pointless for you know william, but for knew players just getting the game like I had recently, I recommend promethus over warrior, if you are looking for HP, on a slightly faster code.

Is there a reason you use Iron Will and Royal Heart instead of Dogged Fighter and Foulblood Barrier? How are these abilities even any different from one another anyway? Apart from required stats - both of which are pretty much guaranteed to be met with this build - the only difference I actually see is Dogged Fighter's cooldown. But there's no information in-game about the strength of each skill, etc.
Additionally, how the heck does Guard Reversal work? I can't seem to use it correctly. I have no idea what I'm doing with it. It doesn't matter what part of the animation an enemy attacks me, I eat a full eat and get staggered, and the enemy keeps on swinging.
not really i did the whole game with foulblood barrier since its really good and attack up together with madness blow did wonders for me
Guard reversal is a buff that bounces the enemies back a little when they hit your block, giving you a bit more time to back off or counter.

I'm a bit confused on how the guard reversal works. do you time it, or cast it, and it provides a counter move when you block? I've only pulled off a counter once and I don't know how to do it again.
Guard Reversal is a active gift that when struck while guarding, the enemy will stagger. Just use it like a buff and block enemy attacks and they will stagger sometimes. I don't believe it counter attacks like a parry.
Am I missing something here? I keep seeing everyone say to use the dragon lunge gift but triple annihilator does more damage and costs less ichor.
How about testing it against a dummy before saying that. Dragon Lunge does more damage and approaches

I’m late game and even since the begging I have been burning through enemies as a strength build I don’t worry as much about balance just dps and normal rolls it’s insanely overpower if you just pump strength passives I can do like 25 k damage in 10 seconds shit is wild
Yeah I didn't try any strength builds until I got dark knight blood code, you hit like a truck with high strength scaling and all the buffs you get from that blood code. I was easily hitting like 2k damage per hit on some enemies. Lol
Now I'm currently using Scathach because Crimson Moon and Fourfold Verdict are the best blood code abilities I have found so far, ridiculous amount of burst damage.

Is there different weapons to duscover throughout the game? I got 1 of all weapon types already and keep getting same weapon drops from enemies. I am early game still so idk if there is more to look forward too or not? Also if there is different weapins do they have different movesets or just the same but weapon looks different?
Yes there is more weapons to discover and yes they have different movesets even if it's only a slight change. Boss weapons in particular all have unique strong attacks.
you can also get weapons from the NPCS by gifting them valuables you find whilst exploring.

Thanks guys. Im having a blast but having a little struggle here and there soloing but im determined to solo the game cuz I honestly don't like the npc co op that much as it makes the game a little too easy. Its more challenging than I expected solo and at least as im still fairly weak and basic and only level 18. Just got through a huge level and died to the very last enemy which of course is that damn big fat lady that does a damn Smough Smash on my face with a big boinker. The timing of her attacks is so awkward. 😆 Haven't felt rage like this in a long time, bringing back those Souls memories. I also got some different variations of weapons. Still trying to understand how this weight management system works though as it's a little confusing for me. I cant use some tanky weapons because it makes me fat roll but I gotta mess around with diffrrent blood codes I think that allow for more weight. Idk exactly what the requirements are but im sure ill figure it out.

Is there is a way to heal without the use of items? I been having issues with progression at times just because I have to backtrack and restock on healing and face the same lost all over again.

I believe this is one of those games that depends on the playstyle? Like, there are bosses I can easily defeat, and then there are those I can't but my hubby can. So I guess experiment?
How can I get more of Atlas Chrome, he says it out of stock ?
I think that it's a limited thing, maybe he resets it after certain events but not much info is known about it, check if he trades it after every big event and if he doesn't then it's probably not available until ng+
As you continue the game he stocks more at certain points in story.
I think he sells a total of 9 Chrome's. The last 3 Chrome's are available once you get to the final area or after the final boss.

JustLookingAround that means you either have to keep progressing the story or just keep restoring vestiges when you find them immediately.

Dark Knight build does it it offers stability as well as defense
