a good alteration to this setup is using the Demeter blood code (VERY slightly less stats in some areas, but 20 ichor base) and this will let you use blow of madness and flashing fang buffs then wait until guard reversal staggers the enemy and hit them with a fully charged heavy attack, and you'll just flat out erase their hp bar, it's VERY strong.
I just basically ran through the rest of the game with Queen Slayer while relying on Final Journey as a last resort when I run out of regen. This build looks fun as hell, same with your mage build.

Try using a queenslayer build especially with final journey,tt raises all of your stats except from health but you die after a certain amount and you can't get revived and makes you a glass Canon,you do so much damage and you can have quick evade even with the heaviest weapon while doing damage but,you will die after a certain amount,not recommended for regular mobs,but bosses you should,you get fully revived after the boss dies so
I’ve been using this build for most of the late game that you might like. Blood Code: Atlas Gifts: -Blow of Madness -Overdrive (or Adrenaline) -Flashing Fang (Most important buff for this build) Passives: - Two Handed Sword Mastery - Strength/Dexterity up - Vow of Ichor (or max ichor boost) Weapon: Judgement Edge Foritification. + 10 (It has a good amount of range of the attack, and it looks badass af. That being said you can do this with any greatsword) With this build, your charged heavy attack is your main source of damage. Ideally you want to active your buffs and hit the boss without getting hit yourself (Otherwise you’ll lose the overdrive buff, which is why you might want to switch it with adrenaline) If you don’t get hit and you land your charged attack you can take out a sizeable chunk of the boss’s health and you can one shot most tough enemies in the game. If you try this build of the punching bag, you should do around 14000 damage with the charge attack. I’m still trying to see if I can improve the damage even more so this is by no means a final build. I hope you like it. Edit: instead of Blow of Madness, you can use the Dragon Lunge attack to do 15000 damage
you can use queenslayer greatsword instead of the pre-order sword, it has more damage and is still crush damage only. also you can use the argent wolf brand 2h, with 2132 attack slash/crush
I use the Drain passive. That way you do 2 hits and do a skill. Its great if you have 3 skills so you can loop it. Also the Stun Buff / Cartridge is kinda helpful. The Impact wave is great for running around and oneshotting the normal mobs,
Got into this game late, through game Pass, so complicated, I started ng+ and thought I wasn't understanding some concept or mechanic because I kept returning to atlas, such a early blood code but it's so good it's almost cheese. Although oni blade intensification does give the argent a run for its money. Also the guard reversal is a extremely underrated ability for strength build and going 1 for 1 with an enemy the size of a mountain in a souls like where its usually jump/dodge/parry/back stab is a nice change of pace, yakumo partner gift also provides a hefty buff for it
Just started this game too, though I didn't pick ng+ lol. Currently running a strength build, working on developing a one handed sword dex build, as well as a dark gift build. Will probably run it a second time after I complete the game. Gonna go ng+ and/or no partner next time I think
For those looking to try this build for yourself, I would recommend using the white Mia if you have access to her. She will provide you with a free Gift Extension buff and can provide some NICE ranged damage to boot. I've only recently began using her myself and she carried me through my NG+ run, except for the last 2 bosses where I had to switch over to waifu Io.
The defense stats of your veil are useless if you're blocking all the time. When blocking, the game uses the defense stats of your weapon (assuming you block the hit at all). Your veil defense only matters when your body gets hit due to failing (or choosing not) to block.
@@FightinCowboy The amount of damage you took for an unblocked attack wasn't much less than what I take from a hit wearing the Venous Veil so its usefulness is pretty suspect. The bigger boon to your perceived tankiness is the larger health pool.
Based on another video I watched, Impact Wave seems to work best with Hammer builds. Basically any hammer that always does an overhead slam, such as the Huge Hammer and Burned Warhammer, will always trigger Impact Wave.
so ive been following your builds for a while after stumbling across your dex heimdall build and i was trying to put together a strength build to just mess around with and aside from the weapon buffs i put together pretty much the same build lmao
I think you made a mistake about the hammer, the 1700dmg was your current equipped weapon, which was the great sword, if you pay attention when you hovered over the hammer it added roughly 240, meaning the hammer should be closer to 2000
Have you considered using Fionn? The main reason to use Fionn would be to get a higher Mind score. Fionn only needs one Mind passive to let you use Path to Glory, the absolute best buff in the whole game (It scales off of your BV's light rating).
I have completed my first playthrough using my prometheus build, i started my 2nd playthrough on enhanced difficult and i think that my level is too low for that honestly... So i am using this build now as well. And sometimes co-op cause i want to get more levels up faster so it can be like the first playthrough again.
elemental buffs are horrible the scaling is so bad around lvl 100 that I don't understand why he uses them. Other damage buffs would have been better. Course greatsword builds usually limit you on using any decent buff. So greatswords get outshined quickly unless you use something more quality based with str and mind and they do exist and you do more damage that way overall because the stacking is much higher. Something like queenslayer works quite well when you start combining things correctly. This build is great for new players for the simple reason the first 1-2 plays you can just go around and smash. Queen isn't bad though I would say Ishtar is the better option though you lose some hp that doesn't matter if everyting dies. Fionn is hammer based but once you master passives and gifts just use those instead and boom good str and mind scaling. Decent vit scaling but ok fortitude. Eos isn't even that bad with str and mind builds. Hermes you could run with and then good old queen slayer and a two handed build. With good scaling to use final journey plus bridge to glory and adrenaline. Yeah youll only get A+ scaling or something at best. Yet you will have a+dex as well and b+ mind. Now buff with final journey and the rest and boom big damage. I mean just play around with other classes and skills and youll realize that you can do a lot more than this.
There are attack buffs that can replace elemental, and can be stacked with adrenaline. One of them will disable if you get hit, but I'm pretty sure there are others. The three common buffs I know you can get early on are the 'big buff for one hit' style ones. And if you stack all 3 of those and then proceed to heavy strike smash a enemy, you inflict so much damage you can one shot the enemy.
@FightinCowboy: the biggest thread for me is the invasion, I'm in early game and in the invasion, several of them keep focusing me...Tank hit hard but speed is low. I'm overwhelmed by the number.... Bosses I faced are even easier than this...

Just got it on sale on Steam, and I really like Hammers in games. I always played Dex in DKS (Great Scythe main in the first game, but I started using heavier weapons in the later games as they seemed better) I used the Hammer in Bloodborne as well (Kirkhammer I think it was called?) The hammer is also my favourite in Monster Hunter. Hoping the Hammer is good in this game, as will likely roll with that. Also.. what are the Dex builds like in this game, any good? PS: just realised this vid is from years ago, so you likely won't see this.... Maybe another fan can reply to it though, if they see it.
I love this build but main problem is that if you didn't pre-order the game you are losing on alot of dmg ( not counting the wolf king blade because you get it engame ) Zweihander or what ever is call offer almost everything the wolf king blade offer and even got better defence on block on certain point and you have acces to it really early on

Legion punisher is exactly what the name implies. A legion punisher. It kills entire armies at a time. It also is just good as a plain punisher. It can take a full 10% of the hellfire knight’s hp in one go, so you can just use it whenever he falls over, or leaves himself vulverable.
Quite literally this. Berserker is only given as a starter code for strength builds, it's not intended to be used into the late game.If you want more balance you could put on the balance passive but I wouldn't recommend using the code.

Is it just me or is Atlas weirdly good for a blood code you get so early in the game? I mean, I dunno if it's completely better than Fionn, but considering it beats out Hades in certain areas is kind of surprising.
My first playthrough was as a STR build and it felt like you have all the tools you need right from the start since you only have minimal investment into other blood codes for extra buffs. And zweihander is an early game weapon wich is just broken.

I might be a little late to the party but if you're looking for a purple Hounds-type blood veil, the Hedgehog Fort variant called "Thorn Devil" is purple. It's described as being "plum" color, but plums are still purple, so it counts in my opinion. I'm currently running it in my GS loadout and it's decently reliable for me.

Can you put up a list of which blood codes these abilities are in? Also if you're working up to GET those weapons (excluding the preorder since I didn't preorder) which greatswords are best to use instead? And where do you get those two other greatswords? I knew Yakumo's abilities would allow you to go into "YAGA!!-mode". It's a shame that I'll have to drop his spin-to-win move. It allowed me to close the distance with a decent AOE attack.
Just use whatever you prefer, the base Zwei is a great sword all around. As for skills most of this build comes from Zerk/Atlas. Punisher is from Queen's Breath, Health Stim from Warrior. TBH you need every blood code to pull together most these builds. They're all designed around being played with in NG+ after an initial run as finished.
Just how much harder is new game + ? Haven't beaten it yet but just about to the end. Definitely going to do new game + but I was wondering just how much harder it gets after each play through.
since i prefer faster hitting weapons, could this build be transfered into a 1h sword build (kinda parry duelist)? I know that most heavier armors go into STR sides, but theres a passive that allows for wearing heavier arms
I always love buffs in games. So I made a heavy hitting queenslayer build. I do 11980dam In one hit. My bass is 2000 mind you. There is literally a lot of buffs in this game. To bad they nerfed my favorite

I just wanna point out that numbers don't matter if you can't stay alive. If you tank "kill shot" moves without trying to block or avoid, you can have 1M damage, but it means bupkis if you die. That aside, cool build man! Got a sub from me.
Ive seen some people wearing some full on demonic armor with horns on their heads anyone know how to get that one? Im not talking bout the preorder veil
i dont have the sword ure using on this video, but im doing pretty well with the Zweinhander (prob spelled wrong), and i jumped from Atlas to Isis, just cuz i like getting the defensive buff that makes u heal a portion of the dmg u take, its pretty insane how tanky u get with that, also i run bridge to glory since i have the mind requirement alongside adrenaline (its better than adrenaline) i also run the buff lengthen to keep it up for a long time and i also have the flash strike (i forgot the name but its the buff next attack gift) to buff my charged Heavy or the thrust. Its pretty strong. Even tho my favorite blood code and the one i think its the strongest in the game is QUeenslayer cuz the buff it has its absolutely broken, u trash anything in ur path with the greatest of ease.
Everyone in their mother is running this style build or Queenslayer final journey build. I like dark arts spam 2h spam build with devour. Running hades, and just melt my own hp for ichor when needed. Run anti stagger and you can just spam the fuck outta bosses till they die. Much more entertaining. And yes works well on NG+ only issue comes with leak. That I either switch to this build or run 2h focus build.

Whenever Im having trouble with bosses, I literally swap to Greatsword build and proceed to smash the boss.
When I have trouble with a boss I switch to Queenslayer.
When i have trouble with the boss, i turned off the game.

The judgement Edge paired with GMX Variant and Revenants Ambition passive gives you normal speed and i take that over the aditional 150 dmg anytime

Did guard reversal get nerfed? Cause mine does not do what you're saying it does

I do a beserker style strength build, you should do it so I can see how you would make it, I prioritize balance so I don’t get staggered.

Ah. Well yeah this would basically work for that. Replace extra stamina with balance and replace the block special with a flat defensive buff tho.

Nice vid! This prompted me to tinker the build. I tried Prometheus + Great Sword = Balanced melee for both dodging, guarding, and doing heavy damage.

Better off with Argent Wolf for more damage and still great block

Is it just me or is Atlas weirdly good for a blood code you get so early in the game?
I mean, I dunno if it's completely better than Fionn, but considering it beats out Hades in certain areas is kind of surprising.
I think each has something good but for straight 2H general all-rounder Atlas is definitely king imo
My first playthrough was as a STR build and it felt like you have all the tools you need right from the start since you only have minimal investment into other blood codes for extra buffs. And zweihander is an early game weapon wich is just broken.
@@jecksa3675 Yeah, exactly. After a certain point, I started experimenting with other blood codes simply because using the same greatsword build was getting kind of stale.

I might be a little late to the party but if you're looking for a purple Hounds-type blood veil, the Hedgehog Fort variant called "Thorn Devil" is purple.
It's described as being "plum" color, but plums are still purple, so it counts in my opinion.
I'm currently running it in my GS loadout and it's decently reliable for me.

Same build I am running. It has been very useful so far. One question though: Where do I find the Silver/Sanguine Veil? Just finished Memories of Player area.
Don't remember exactly, one of the later areas for sure tho
You can buy it from Murasame after you've found the Silver Garb in a chest in the Crypt Spire
Can you put up a list of which blood codes these abilities are in?
Also if you're working up to GET those weapons (excluding the preorder since I didn't preorder) which greatswords are best to use instead? And where do you get those two other greatswords?
I knew Yakumo's abilities would allow you to go into "YAGA!!-mode". It's a shame that I'll have to drop his spin-to-win move. It allowed me to close the distance with a decent AOE attack.
Just use whatever you prefer, the base Zwei is a great sword all around. As for skills most of this build comes from Zerk/Atlas. Punisher is from Queen's Breath, Health Stim from Warrior. TBH you need every blood code to pull together most these builds. They're all designed around being played with in NG+ after an initial run as finished.
Just how much harder is new game + ?
Haven't beaten it yet but just about to the end. Definitely going to do new game + but I was wondering just how much harder it gets after each play through.

since i prefer faster hitting weapons, could this build be transfered into a 1h sword build (kinda parry duelist)? I know that most heavier armors go into STR sides, but theres a passive that allows for wearing heavier arms
how about considering lost Zweihander, its quite rare and has the nasty stat
I have a great sword and I got to medium mobility and I love it so much
I always love buffs in games. So I made a heavy hitting queenslayer build. I do 11980dam In one hit. My bass is 2000 mind you. There is literally a lot of buffs in this game. To bad they nerfed my favorite

Demeter is actually a better Broadsword Build than Atlas, it has better ichor stock for buffs and unleashing combos of melee gifts...
why didnt you consider night fang blood veil for this build?
i mean i speed runned the bosses with 2 handed using the impact and block animation cancel so technically its better?

I just wanna point out that numbers don't matter if you can't stay alive. If you tank "kill shot" moves without trying to block or avoid, you can have 1M damage, but it means bupkis if you die.

I'd gone to 2hsword devour to restores more icor then dark gift offense spammer. Needed for my ng+ enhance. I die easily with 2hsword build only..
I use this but warrior and a recovery ability and life steal adding also the shield Yakumo gives so I can help my fiance in her playthrough
The secondary weapon I run is Zweihander to not take damage from almost any attack.

What is a good aleternative to legion punisher for those who went for good ending?
i dont have the sword ure using on this video, but im doing pretty well with the Zweinhander (prob spelled wrong), and i jumped from Atlas to Isis, just cuz i like getting the defensive buff that makes u heal a portion of the dmg u take, its pretty insane how tanky u get with that, also i run bridge to glory since i have the mind requirement alongside adrenaline (its better than adrenaline) i also run the buff lengthen to keep it up for a long time and i also have the flash strike (i forgot the name but its the buff next attack gift) to buff my charged Heavy or the thrust. Its pretty strong. Even tho my favorite blood code and the one i think its the strongest in the game is QUeenslayer cuz the buff it has its absolutely broken, u trash anything in ur path with the greatest of ease.
Zweihander is the best weapon in the game defensively, followed by the Broadsword

Everyone in their mother is running this style build or Queenslayer final journey build. I like dark arts spam 2h spam build with devour. Running hades, and just melt my own hp for ichor when needed. Run anti stagger and you can just spam the fuck outta bosses till they die. Much more entertaining. And yes works well on NG+ only issue comes with leak. That I either switch to this build or run 2h focus build.
How are you able to have all those buffs on your hot bar? I can't equip those when I'm on Atlas, please help and thank you.
What do you mean? So you not meet stat requirements?
@@FightinCowboy I literally just figured it out lol. You get the mastery on them and you can equip them on different blood codes.

Except for elements and harmonia, you cant farm them. Just go to NG+

It's to slow tbh and has really bad defense. The dmg is good tho. Zweihander is honestly the best sword in the game if you don't want to take dmg
Zwei has 100 defense across the board, Argent Wolf greatswords are both very good as well.
