Yeah. It barely looks better than the v2 box and a bigger can motor. All this spektrum system does is highlight the value of the furitek system. The furitek stuff isn’t even sensored but the FOC and the way the esc speaks to the motor is incredible. Edit: also Bluetooth tuning comes in clutch and furitek customer service is pretty good. Also the ability to use other companies motors with it as well. Oh and the BEC, and 3s capability.
Thanks for the honest review Adam! I am concerned with the lack of tunability with the Spektrum system and for the extra cash, I will stick with the more versatile options available for these tiny rigs. Good beginner brushless system is a good assessment. Thanks again!

I think what you said nailed it. Curb your expectations. If you’re experienced with brushless systems on 1/24’s. Then yea you’re going to turn your nose up at this and not be impressed. For someone like me who wants to dabble but not spend $400 on a fully optioned brushless set. It’s perfect, and I dont need all the adjustability from furitek. Keep it simple for once. $80 brushless setup, and it works with the AX24 stock esc so i dont have to shell out for another TX/RX. I think its a great option for some of us who don’t have a whole lot of money to throw around.
Same reason & more why I just picked one up for my over weight Deadpool. Also I feel I don’t want an App to fine tune anything. How about they decide not to support it anymore or decide to charge you to keep your settings or worse have it work, like Tesla charging customers $9.99 a month to have working Heated seats and other options on the car. No thanks, Big Brother doesn’t need to watch over my R/C Crawling toy my kids and I use, how & when we use it. I got nothing to hide however I like to avoid overreacting possibilities from anyone. We got enough of that already. The Horizon name is on the box, not on FuriTek products. My motor is smooth at low end. He may have got the gear lash a bit tight is my opinion. Quieting down the ESC noise was a major win for me personally, I agree it’s very irritating. Now all they have to do is offer a better motor later on, I’m sold & quite happy. S2 batteries are plenty for me, my sons and our needs
Thanks for the vid and am gonna stick with furitek and not down grading my batteries to a 2s max on the Spektrum. Seems Spektrum has to make better improvements for the smaller scale crawler world. It’s looks great for small scale bashing lol 😂
I just installed mine and I agree I was not expecting how jerky it is when the remote is turned down to 50% it got better when I turned the remote up though but installation was easy 15 minutes plug and play great video
I have a scx24 gladiator with the injora brass 50g wheels and 62x22 tires and the RCAWD portal axles, weighs about 550 grams now I think. I have stock ESC and a purple injora motor and now that combo sucks. Would this be any good for that or should I just go furitech? What motor/esc do you recommend?

I wonder if going with the Injora 1t/12t underdrive gears would help at all with the jerky slow crawl. I love how it's plug and play with little to no modding, but I can get a better crawl from my Gladiator with my stock motor. Does this motor work on the Power Wagon?
Anyone know if this ESC is programmable? If so how and with what? I tried the Spektrum Smart ESC Programmer that works great with other Spektrum FIRMA esc's but not on this little guy. Or is there a manual way to adjust the Brake setting?
For myself, I am not a huge fan of brushless for the small scale rigs. I have one of my 24s set up with a outrunner and it works great but i perfer to run either the OX or MOFO brushed motors in the rest of my rigs.

Why is it not good to tighten the lock nut on the spur? Just curious because I tightened mine down and that might be one of my problems with my noisy driveline. 🤷♂️
It's a big power drain on your motor and will prematurely burn the motor out (speaking from experience). It could certainly be contributing to your noise issue
Have you tried turning down the throttle limit switch on the back of the radio to lower the low speed? Thats what i do on my brushed systems when i need more crawl control.
I like that it’s a direct drop in replacement, with little to no mods needed. But uhh, slow speeds are kinda lacking. 3S isn’t really a thing for crawling (IMO) so no big deal on that, but I’d like slower speeds (or a two speed option). For the price I can see why they went this route, good middle ground for the average buyers, but for those looking to really CRAWL they’re going with Furitek.
If all I saw was the run portion of the video without audio I would have no idea this was a brushless system. Does it run without the sensor plugged into the motor?
The bigger tires really ups how good it looks. Can you show some different body ideas for the AX24? Bodies you have around. I think I've seen you have better results with the brushed motors from LGRP?
Hey, just some thought. But ever thought about trying to mod the mini x 28 system to one of these from Hobbywing? I’ve been pondering the idea for my trx4m. Maybe you could get a first hands on test for it? It’s the Hobbywing sensored brushless set up for the mini z I keep hoping they will make a scx24 and trx4m version for it.

Best way is to upgrade your radio and receiver setup. The Flysky gt5 is a great, low cost option. But for truly functional rear steering control you’ll want an aftermarket radio

I got another thing in mind also there's a couple Motors I have tried farts brushed that are really good the torque Beast 50 turn the injora pro also there's a company called maker fire that does a 50 turn that is insane I figured I would put one of those Motors on their butt with a 14 pinion and singing because they got such good low-end you just need a little bit more will speed but the pro really does have great wheel speed and I would like just a little bit more what I would really like is for Fury Tech to figure it out just a little bit further I mean
Hey adam, great upgrade vid....sorry to bug u again, but what over drive gears r u using in the trx4m bronco...i see some on injora but not sure which to get since there r four sets...thanks man...keep up the great work!
I really wish I hadn’t spent the $90 on this combo, it was worse performing than the stock brushed SCX24 motor/ESC. This was a huge disappointment in my opinion. It’s not smooth, doesn’t have good slow control at all and it lunges. I returned and replaced it with a Furitek system that is everything I could ever ask for in a micro unit. This is just my opinion and I hope it helps.
Seems ok but I rather pay 39.00 for the RCAWD 180 motor 51T tranny combo and get a better slow crawl out of my scx24 won’t have the same speed though but I’ll be fine. 🤣🤣🤣
* not cheap * noisy * crap bec * no support for more than 2s * inrunner but has a big hole, so not waterproof [dumb as hell] * puny torque * pointless sensored system, as it's not even as smooth as the better brushed escs, let alone brushless looks like an utter waste of money
If it was priced around $50 I would be a lot more sold on it but for it being $90 and having no tuning options and that slow crawl is a deal breaker for me after having Furitek and Mofo Systems I run in my 4 trucks.
It's 4300 that's Insanity for those little cars and not just that before the KV I've been playing around with some things from mofo RC and I got to tell you the 3400 revenge of pancake and also the 4100 band motor you wouldn't believe it but those both have amazing startup amazing low-end crawl but I have the 1900 bam on the way with a 14 what you hear a lot of guys saying V up and gear down
Two main problems with this setup. 1) 4500kv. That is too high of a level of kv for a crawler. A better kv range is around 1000kv to 2000kv. 2) It's an "In Runner" style of brushless which decreases the torque gap surface area compared to an "Out Runner". More "Torque Gap" surface area = more torque at lower speeds.
4500 kv on a 12mm motor is like a 1000kv on a 36mm can motor. If they made a motor this small in 1000 kv it would hardly even turn... The kv is good on the motor, especially for an in-runner. The part that sucks ass is the quality inside that motor ie windings/material, sensor, balance, magnets and so on.... Also, the ESC is junk and has no ability to control the motor.

You have to understand the furitek is a outrunner vs a non. Every outrunner is going to have better low end control.
its almost like it is identical to the dynamite system... i wonder?
Put it on a sr315/dx5c.
Dial up some throttle Expo and turn down the throttle rate, just a tad, should smooth it out...
I’ll try that!
A better cheap option is to stick with brushed but use the furitek iguana esc. 30a 3s capable
Very true
NOTE!
The spektrum setup does NOT have FOC (field oriented control).
Furitek on the other hand does.
I totally agree with you the makerfire 50t motor is insane super torque and really good low end!
Maybe it’ll be better with the other gear, Yep I’m here watching
Hey adam, great upgrade vid....sorry to bug u again, but what over drive gears r u using in the trx4m bronco...i see some on injora but not sure which to get since there r four sets...thanks man...keep up the great work!
Hey Brett, I’m running stock gears in the bronco (diff gears). I will be experimenting with overdrive/underdrive gears soon though
Looks to be the same design that they run with the mini-z drift car
It behaves like a drift motor!
Like a baby Castle setup
This work with the 2024 c10s
Try the DinkyRC esc w/ any Mofo motor & never look back 😂
I think I need to!
Didn’t fit stock trans
Yeah I got to say not a whole lot of your trucks walk straight up that ladder foam
For $15 I had to buy one for my c10.
I bought four more. Couldn’t pass the deal up!
* not cheap
* noisy
* crap bec
* no support for more than 2s
* inrunner but has a big hole, so not waterproof [dumb as hell]
* puny torque
* pointless sensored system, as it's not even as smooth as the better brushed escs, let alone brushless
looks like an utter waste of money
If it was priced around $50 I would be a lot more sold on it but for it being $90 and having no tuning options and that slow crawl is a deal breaker for me after having Furitek and Mofo Systems I run in my 4 trucks.
It's 4300 that's Insanity for those little cars and not just that before the KV I've been playing around with some things from mofo RC and I got to tell you the 3400 revenge of pancake and also the 4100 band motor you wouldn't believe it but those both have amazing startup amazing low-end crawl but I have the 1900 bam on the way with a 14 what you hear a lot of guys saying V up and gear down
I was pretty shocked by the kv rating.
at $90.00 I'll pass it looks like it not worth it to me
Lol it's only 39.99 now
Bought one blind from the LHS, the shuddering is un bearable especially on the downhill. Very disappointed.
I have one of these and this looks so bad I don’t think I’ll even use it
Disappointing and not something I would ever use. It's not a good value if it doesn't do what you need it to do.
And it sounds like your pinion/spur mesh is tight...
I just think if I’m gonna spend 90 dollars I may as well spend a little more for the better set up.
