did u get new screws with your combo? my motor screws are only like .5 mm long... i can't mount motor to case because of the short screws that came with it
Hafa Adai from Guam. have the starter system on order. GREAT VIDEO. probably not gonna flip my skid since I'm using the Hot Racing Overdrive transmission and Treal drive shafts. Any suggestions on fitment will be appreciated. Thanks
I mention that if you rotate your motor, your shafts might be too short. You can always try swapping your male shafts and see if they reach that way. Worst case, snag up some more stock driveshafts for cheap.
You need a transmitter and receiver. The receiver that comes with the scx24 is a 2-1 combo. It’s both the receiver and esc If you go brushless, your brushless esc either needs a new receiver and transmitter. Or a 2-1 combo (like the one shown in the video) that has a channel 2 to plug your esc into. The 2-1 then just acts as a receiver and you can use your stock transmitter (remote)
I’ve already bought the mofo brass transmission case, but not the brushless mount for it. It’ll be awesome fit this plate fits. I think it should but there’s only way to find out.
I had this installed in my Gladiator. It maid snap sound and broke in 3 months. Furitek said it was no longer covered after 30 days. I would just go with larger motor. Venom is a bit weak. (starter) JMO
@@TheShopMiniRC The Venom motor failed. Gladiator is slightly mortified, so not very heavy. Was crawling and motor spins but truck won’t move. Just installed the Mini Komodo last night. Haven’t run it crawling yet, but looks impressive on the table. Btw, love your videos. Nice job!
@@anyhonyfernandez the motor spins but the truck doesn’t move? Sounds like the pinion broke loose. Get a steel pinion from mofo RC and press it on with a vise.
@@TheShopMiniRC The pinion was first thing I checked. Put the Komodo in last night and back in business. I must say, Komodo is quite the nice upgrade from the Venom. I have created a monster. lol. Like you stated and I agree. The Venom is a starter setup, and is almost free at the price you get it at with the ESC. So I can not complain. Look forward to more of your videos. You have helped me a lot on my builds. Keep up the great work, and happy crawling. 👍
Very kool ...meus should make a set of those awesome mini blue drivers in torx straight ..Phillips ....the Phillips one is highly prized in my collection lol edit ...the venom is amazing lol
As always Ken, your videos are fantastic. You bring up solutions for any question I have about installation issues. For the price, the venom seems to be a great upgrade choice based on your video as well as the supporting Venom comments. Thank you!
The Venom is amazing. I will be receiving the kit on Monday for my Powerwagon. Thanks for putting a video together to give me some ideas for setting it up. Check out the short I posted with my custom pain on my Powerwagon.
That’s all I need to know I like the truck but the stock electronics ain’t gunna cut it so now that I can install the Furitek brushless system I’ll have to add it to the list of RC’s I need.
Sounds like the furi none tech does not actually check their products in real world setting. Thats pretty sad seeing how much these products are priced.
Yes those hexes. They went on okay, but when attempting to remove them, the hex screw stripped out. That allen is pretty small, and isn’t in most tool kits either.
Hey man I wish you titled this the Scx24 “power wagon” brushless conversion. Would’ve saved me a ton of time and money. It’s theoretically the same install as the micro Komodo I did a week ago and chopped the Esc tractor much lost shock mount. I also took out my interior.
The venom truly looks amazing ;) I almost regret buying a second hand bronco as my first scx24 but I was so eager to try I couldn’t wait 😂 Got it for a good price so there’s that. Also got a deadbolt too for a few months now and I’ve been enjoying it a lot, actually impressed by the capability straight of the box. No surprise compared to the heavy bronco though. Your vids are a lot of help and very valuable infos, thanks a lot !

That’s odd. Everything I needed was with the kit.
Dude this is exactly what happen to me super irritating
Waterproof?
No, most outrunners are not. Some say outrunners are fine in water, but I don’t believe it.

What slot does the lizard pro plug into on the stock Spektrum reciever? You had it tucked in there so neatly I couldn’t see!
your esc always plugs into channel 2 on any receiver. Channel 1 is your steering.
Hi!!
Will this video work for the installation on a furitek cedar motor using a hot racing over drive transmission ?
It should they are basically the same steps.
How is it that it can be mounted in the forward facing or aft facing, does the app set forward/ aft direction?
The app can change the motor direction, yes.
im so angry with this my drive shafts dont work there too short
I mention that if you rotate your motor, your shafts might be too short. You can always try swapping your male shafts and see if they reach that way. Worst case, snag up some more stock driveshafts for cheap.
I dont get it.. i thought you dont need the stock esc..
Im lost here..

im thinking about getting this for my c10 scx24, would I need anything else for this kit like a new remote? or how do I use my stock remote?
Nope, you can drop it right in. You plug the esc into the channel 2 on your stock esc/rx combo! We have other videos also showing that.
@@TheShopMiniRC oh okay thanks, I want to do this just not sure where I’d relocate my stock esc
Can this work with the stock v1 remote and esc?
Yes.
The Venom is amazing! The fact they set this for scx24 at a bolt in. No hacking anything.
Some minor trimming but nothing crazy!!
I’ve already bought the mofo brass transmission case, but not the brushless mount for it. It’ll be awesome fit this plate fits. I think it should but there’s only way to find out.
Thanks for the detailed overview. I wish the wiring of the venom could be clocked so it could exit out the side.
Yeah, having it be a bit more “bendable” would be nice. But yeah, I get what you’re saying.
Some how they put too small of screws to mount the motor to the motor mount in my package anyone else have the same thing happen?
Never seen that before. Reach out to them to get some replacement screws.
@@TheShopMiniRC I reached out to the store I got them from picking up right size tomorrow
@@TheShopMiniRC appreciate the video super helpful though!
the starter brushless from furitek goes hard AF! you really cant beat it for the price, especially because you have the lizard pro!
Right?!? It’s damn good for $90
I use the lizard to and mofo rc rop for my brushless
The venom is f’in amazing……OUTSTANDING
It’s damn good. Especially for the price.
Is this the same motor that is now pre-installed on the CR18 evo pro brushless? 🤔
Yes
@@TheShopMiniRC Thank you very much for replying.

It totally transforms the truck!
What is the rear cage you’re looking to use instead of the bed, I’m trying to find one for a build.
Tinker time RC cage.
Use metal drive shaft instead of plastic you don’t have to cut it when you put the motor face backward
Yeah, we just wanted to show it with our needing to buy extra stuff (for the newbies)
The venom is amazing, I’m definitely gonna get one. Thanks for the video. I really enjoyed it.
Thanks for watching! We think the venom is a fantastic motor to get people started.

Thanks my dude!!
Great

You can use metal drive shaft
Yep! We will eventually. ;)

It really is! Thanks for watching the video!
I don't have the longer 1.5 motor screws, only the shorter ones from the factory. Was the kit supposed to come with longer?
nevermind I found them in the motor box😅
hahaha glad you found em.
Watch entire video

Facts.
I really despise the wheel hexes myself. The little setscrews are extremely easy to strip!
