    For me being a guy who works at home, having a vision pro to breakup where I work is invaluable. Sitting in the same space as nice as it is gets uninspiring. I want to work on my deck , in bed , on my recliner, sitting at my fav. coffee shop, the park, now that's a game changer. I will never sit beyond 2-3 hours straight staring at the vision pro without taking a 5-10 min break. I will be getting a Vision pro as soon as all the kinks are worked out. Version 2 hits soon?? I haven't checked lately but I can't wait to incorporate this amazing hardware into my workflow, not to mention all the other cool things you can do with the vision pro already. Movies,3d camera ,experiences etc etc

    Thanks for your interesting video 👍 As a mobile developer and owner of a VP since 3 weeks, I like to spend my all day working on VP but sometimes I need to stay in single reality so I use my confortable office setup.

    Didn't know you had another channel. You should promote it more.

      Haha dang, I've been found out! I want to try to keep these channels separate - one for filmmaking and another for consumer tech/office. Thanks for your support - means a lot that you found this channel 🙌

    Can you not do dual screens with the VP natively?
    I briefly tried immersed since in have Win11, but it was a little jittery, so contemplating picking up a MacBook

    Nice video. As much as I like the VP, I would agree with you - in general I'd prefer working on a couple of monitors. But I can see the VP being perfect for travel.

      Thank you! And same here, at the end of the day it's a tool. And it's fantastic at certain things, but not everything. Consuming content is great, but traveling and working is still my favorite way to use the avp. I edited the last two videos for this channel and my filmmaking channel on the AVP while away from the office

    Thanks for great video, i clicked like for your achievement. i feel very same with you. i have same environment as you have. And, i'm alwways trying to fit myself into vision pro (to feel the future). but i found myself suffering from neck pain, and also chest pain. i feel i need to work with my dual monitor for a long-time work. I have one question, what's the strap above the vision pro? it looks great with solo knit.

    Bro…..I like you found a backpack which the AVP fits with the case because I’m a traveler I don’t want people seeing that white carrying case. Can you tell me the model and such?

    I don’t like that the externals switch off and don’t replicate in virtual space. Also it seems like there is only one display available and not many.

    Another benefit to the vision pro is the reduced eye strain - by putting the virtual screen further away and making it larger, it reduces strain on your eyes since the muscles used for focusing on objects are more relaxed - this is from my optometrist friend

      Except for anything within arms length, like screens, laptops and phones.
      Because the focal point is actually further out, your eyes are subtley straining to converge an image that actually on a flat plane.
      Meta has varifocal prototypes that can let you look at something close up comfortably in VR, but no headset currently, AVP included, simply does not have this functionality.

    Dual displays when anchored. Superior resolution, eye comfort and ability to interact with the space around uninterrupted. I do think the exception is when you need to focus on one task and you need immersion or as you say, a travel situation.

    Awesome, thank for replying to my question! Being able to use the Vision Pro while the MacBook is in clamshell mode checks another box for me. Personally I use a 28" or 32" monitor (separate offices) which has been enough so I've never even tried a dual monitor setup, but I think I'd sooner get the AVP than add a monitor. As time goes on I appreciate mobility more and more so your example of taking it with you to your parents house when the power was out is a good example. I also travel internationally between the US and Europe so if I buy a new monitor in one location I'm limited when I'm not there. Given the bulk of the AVP in it's case, not to mention the price, I'd be anxious taking it with me though. Have you flown with it?

      Glad to help, great question about clamshell mode. I know other people were probably wondering that too. I have used it on a plane, again I took my peter mckinnon backpack (from my accessories video) and put it in the top part for travel. While it did take up almost 1/3rd of my carry on, the experience was worth it. Being immersed with noise cancelling headphones on, it's like youre not even on a plane anymore. Loved it.

    hello, is theta over head strap the extra one on the AVP box or it is an after marker one?
    Thank you!

    For several months I’ve been working 6-8 hours a day (with breaks) in VP and I believe I get more done this way. VP drastically improved my focus. I dont even notice other people in the office.
    When I put VP down.. every other screen looks like a joke. :)
    With such a sleek setup as yours.. and nobody there… It would probably be a tie.

    If I have a pen display connected to my MacBook and turn on the virtual Mac display, will it turn off my pen display (which I need for drawing)?

    I might be getting a MacBook for my upcoming laptop refresh at work and I’ll be using a government PIV card via USB to authenticate a VPN. If I buy an AVP for personal use can I still use it for a Mac Virtual Display if it can’t be on the same VPN even if both are on the same WiFi at my home?

    • @KeithBoard
      @KeithBoard  Місяць тому

      That is a very good question, the AVP works with MVD via wifi. If Wifi is disabled on either device it wont work - and they have to be on the same network. I don't know what a PIV card is, but as long as both devices are on the same network, they should be able to work together. The VPN works for internet, and the AVP works with the local wifi, I think? I have a VPN on my mac, I'll try it out when I get back to my office. Interesting question!

    • @adamthurmond9092
      @adamthurmond9092 Місяць тому

      @@KeithBoard Thank you! A PIV card is like a CAC card for controlled access, so even if it’s possible to do some VPNs on the AVP I highly doubt there’s a way to authenticate that type of VPN on it.

      @@adamthurmond9092 Oooooooh that sounds pretty locked down. My VPN is a pretty standard service - I don't want to steer you in the wrong direction, that seems like a question for an Apple store genius
