- In 2022, over 100,000 Californians moved to Texas.
We've been in Texas for a couple of years now and I wonder how everyone's holding up.
In this video, I'll watch Californians who left for Texas share their thoughts one year later and see if I agree with them or if my experiences are widely different.

I moved in 2019. I owned a solar company. I missed the weather, lack of mosquitos (outdoor activities were much easier to enjoy) but yes I struggled in California. But being in the tech industry, trying to make it in Texas was much more difficult. The significant difference in income was tough. There is far less to do. But the freedom was much greater. People are much nicer, friendly and considerate in Texas.
I felt like there were more activities (in Dallas) vs the Bay Area and things are definitely cheaper. People are definitely friendlier in Texas than Cali
@@seanlovesrealestate that's probably because its not as crowded and things are generally cheaper. When prices and crowding goes up, people get more agitated.
Moved to Texas in 2022 and feel the same way. Miss the weather especially in the summer and the many things to do but life is easy and more simple here. What part of Texas are you in?
Get outta my Texas
@@davionreed4912 I’m probably more MAGA than you dude. lol.
I did the opposite. I moved from Massachusetts to California in 2021.
I am happy and grateful. My salary went up from $45/hour to $110/hour.
From annual salary $101000 to $275000.
Yes taxes in California is high but still i save more money. I live a humble and simple life.
Whenever someone says that people are leaving California, i usually respond that “just let them leave”.
I support the move to leave California. Let people leave California. Respect them.
I'm fine with them leaving I'm just sick of them coming here
@@andrewfreeman88 Don't be so desperate, FF.
yay he uploads
👏👏
I miss Fremont and the whole East Bay.
Grew up in Fairfield and settled in the East Bay.
Bexar-County_TX now.
I initially came out here to spend time with my father before he passed.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Sorry to hear about your father.
second lets goo love the vids
thank you!
Hi, I’m very interested in investing in real estate but given my current finial situation I am unable to buy a property any time soon. I was wondering if becoming a real estate agent first would be worth it to learn about the market, although the state I live in is not the state I would want to invest in .
I think being a real estate agent is a very different skillset from being an investor, but it is a good way to make money if your current job prospects are limited (i.e. you're working at a job with a limited income ceiling). As an agent, you'll learn more about sales and ethics more-so than how to analyze a deal.
So did I!
Awesome!
I’m from California and want to move to Texas. Don’t worry, I wouldn’t “California your Texas”.
I’m just not a fan of triple digit weather. I’m specifically from the Bay Area and there’s no better weather than here.
Ok thank you for not making Texas a “new California”
Property tax in Texas is ridiculous and the high sales tax. Wait until real estate becomes unaffordable across the state and more dems move to texas then it will be Cali all over again. Despite that I fucking love Texas.
if california didnt have so many taxes and fees associated with living here it would be a competition
The income tax is atrocious, but the property taxes in Cali are amazing
@@seanlovesrealestate But Cali property taxes are high too aren't they?
Every state hopes Californians get tired of their area and move back.
Sean, you mentioned you get a lot of comments about politics. Have you had anybody give you hate in person when you say you’re from California?
Been to both and Texas is so much better. California is nice to visit but not to live.
Tell them Californians outta my Texas
Like the first Texans stayed out of Mexico?
Not having to drink poop water made it completely worth it
Haha, the tap water I’ve had in LA, and in Bay Area is actually drinkable and far better than any tap water I’ve had anywhere in Texas and I lived there 40 years. Tap water in Houston, for instance, was disgusting.
Buy a filter, makes poop water taste better :)
We literally lived in Katy Texas right outside of cinco ranch, our kids went to the best schools. We left around 2021 and now rent our home that we own for 2700 a month, I’m good, come on over Californians
Katy is a great place to live! And yes, if you can keep your Cali home and rent it out it then you're in an ideal financial position in case you want to move back.
As a Texan, I got one thing to say:
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
yeeeee
God Bless Texas🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Arnold was not a Republican although he ran as one. He signed so many bills that were disastrous for Californians and their rights. Gavin is just way worse and hastening the decline.
I guess 🤷♂️
@@seanlovesrealestate your just too young and disengaged to know
I am a Texan and we are better, and we wave around our flag like we still are the republic of texas
Texas is better we got history and stuff- person who lives in Texas
I like it there, the weather and bugs are kinda rough though
And the weather isn’t even that bad it’s just that people aren’t used to the type of weather in texas
"we got history and stuff" - nice pr
Texans being mad at Californians moving to their state is 100% victim shaming
