As a center conservative who lives in CA what are the alternatives? Rents way too high, job opportunities are stagnant, basic necessities such as gas/food are increasing, rolling blackouts in our energy sector, and devastating fires. Born in Houston, TX but raised in CA, I have always voted Repub. to hopefully see some sort of change but nothing does change. The only alternative is moving out.

L.A. and the Bay Area make all the laws and regulations for the whole state. That’s why there are twenty something counties trying to break away from California and form the 51st state of Jefferson. It’s going through court right now they keep delaying hearings. The counties are suing the state for taxation without representation and rightfully so.

We have nine (9) openings at our company and have had 24 people apply in the last year. We had seven (7) that were actually qualified and three of them were Californians. Those three were intentionally passed over even being as qualified as they were while still leaving us short staffed. Mind you this is a type of business where our salary range starts at $171,000 per year for this particular skill set. And that skill set are pilots with ATP certifications. Our salaries top out at $305,000 per year after 15 years as very few pilots, unless long termed commercial guys, can meet the requirements that we mandate. At salaries such as this you NEVER pass up someone as qualified for that type of pay. A lot of businesses are boycotting hiring anyone from California as well and even our aviation competitors have a Gentlemans agreement with us to refuse any hiring of anyone who’s lived in the state of California within the past 10 years. This is our actual business competition who has agreed to this as well. Texas is a right to work state and literally it is only against the law to discriminate against race, sexual preference and religious belief based only. It is even self-admitted that these people were not hired because of where they came from. We just simply don’t want these people here and don’t care who you are. Californians ideology whether from the left or the right has created the state that they live in to be the way that it is because of that same ideology. Even the Californians with a conservative based ideology are a bunch of idiots with some leftist ideology in their undertones. High hour commercial pilots are not abundant and even our company with over ten multi-tens of million dollar aircraft will risks the company to not hire them. THAT says something even with the limit shortage that’s going on and the severe attrition rate of aviators qualified to fly this type of aircraft. These guys and gals are capable of flying these aircraft and would do it just as good as we do here. The problem is is that their physical body as they stand came out of the state of California. They just will not be hired. By refusing to hire these people they will go back where they came from or go somewhere else. And with the hiring boycott the state has done in all occupations Californians are arriving here and THEN leaving again at a rate of 17%. That means that if you come here from California you have a 17% chance you will turn right around and leave again somewhere else due to not finding work 🤷♂️

As a center conservative who lives in CA what are the alternatives? Rents way too high, job opportunities are stagnant, basic necessities such as gas/food are increasing, rolling blackouts in our energy sector, and devastating fires. Born in Houston, TX but raised in CA, I have always voted Repub. to hopefully see some sort of change but nothing does change. The only alternative is moving out.

As a native Texan who found himself living in Austin the last seven years I can tell you it’s only gotten worse. Californians don’t seem to understand the policies and reasons that made them leave their home state in the first place. And then proceed to push for those exact same policies once they move here. They completely lack self-awareness on the subject except for a very select few. This is likely due to The majority of them moving here due to their jobs and not political refugees. People that ordinarily would not have left California but followed their employer due to the increase in tech company development here.

L.A. and the Bay Area make all the laws and regulations for the whole state. That’s why there are twenty something counties trying to break away from California and form the 51st state of Jefferson. We have nine (9) openings at our company and have had 24 people apply in the last year. We had seven (7) that were actually qualified and three of them were Californians. Those three were intentionally passed over even being as qualified as they were while still leaving us short staffed. Mind you this is a type of business where our salary range starts at $171,000 per year for this particular skill set. And that skill set are pilots with ATP certifications. Our salaries top out at $305,000 per year after 15 years as very few pilots, unless long termed commercial guys, can meet the requirements that we mandate. At salaries such as this you NEVER pass up someone as qualified for that type of pay. A lot of businesses are boycotting hiring anyone from California as well and even our aviation competitors have a Gentlemans agreement with us to refuse any hiring of anyone who’s lived in the state of California within the past 10 years. This is our actual business competition who has agreed to this as well. Texas is a right to work state and literally it is only against the law to discriminate against race, sexual preference and religious belief based only. It is even self-admitted that these people were not hired because of where they came from. We just simply don’t want these people here and don’t care who you are. Californians ideology whether from the left or the right has created the state that they live in to be the way that it is because of that same ideology. Even the Californians with a conservative based ideology are a bunch of idiots with some leftist ideology in their undertones. High hour commercial pilots are not abundant and even our company with over ten multi-tens of million dollar aircraft will risks the company to not hire them. THAT says something even with the limit shortage that’s going on and the severe attrition rate of aviators qualified to fly this type of aircraft. These guys and gals are capable of flying these aircraft and would do it just as good as we do here. The problem is is that their physical body as they stand came out of the state of California. They just will not be hired. By refusing to hire these people they will go back where they came from or go somewhere else. And with the hiring boycott the state has done in all occupations Californians are arriving here and THEN leaving again at a rate of 17%. That means that if you come here from California you have a 17% chance you will turn right around and leave again somewhere else due to not finding work 🤷♂️

Just gonna throw it out there... Texans need to take a break from patting themselves on the back for how awesome they are and make sure their kids are safe in schools and make sure their newborns are safe in hospitals. Just a thought, though.
I lived in Dallas, TX for 12 years. I saw a city where there was no traffic and had affordable housing, become a city with crazy traffic and exploding housing prices.
Dallas wasn't as liberal back then. Californians have ruined are house markets

Yep same here probably live in the same town as you or close by but everyone moving here from California buying houses cash for 500k like it ain’t nothing then except people working at the regular jobs to be able to pay 1200+ for anything like how tf does that even make sense i just wish everyone making less then 16/hr would just leave their jobs for one day let them realize without the working man what tf are you going to do make things affordable or rise pay so people can actually afford the one bedroom in a town where there isn’t even anything to do but bike, walk/run, or go to the mountains a hour away but as everyone with money says move somewhere where you can afford it even if this is the place we could afford before they came and mess it up
Yup. My family's been in Oregon for generations. My Grandpa once told me that everything East of the Cascades is still Oregon, but most of the Erea West of it is the state of New California. Like you said though, it doesn't stop the people who move to Portland or Eugene or Salem from telling the rest of us how to live and where our money goes.

Well, opposed to what the OMS estimated it would be, it is stil very low. We have lived with other diseases that killed more people per year, and did not turn the whole world around for them. I am not saying covid does not exists or that it should be ignored, I am saying that we already know more, and that things should start getting back to normal. With certain precautions, of course.

To your second points: I agree. It's kind of depressing thinking about how much longer we'll need to take precautions/get vaccines, keep having to research the mutating virus strands, but things do seem to be ....gradually looking up.
That makes so much sense. People from Cali need to let go of their Leftist views when they move to the South. If you moved to Texas for lower taxes, less regulations, and cheaper cost of living then you have to help vote in keeping those things.
