Hello Paddy I'm christopher aka the blue shirt kid. Thank you very much for the advice. I'm now more inspired to learn thai. Keep it up Paddy and Good luck to everyone learning Thai 😁🙏👍.
I'm Thai. I have to say that Ali's Thai is so natural. Her gesture, her way of talking and even her manner are so Thai. She might have a little accent from her language, but it's so impressive.
Hello I’m truly from Thailand I can speak English very well I can the reason I can speak Thai too is because I watch the legend of the Ramakein Or Ramayana so DAB
Ali and Peter is so so impressive. I am Thai and i would say their Thai is amazing and sounds very natural. Hearing their thai, i might misunderstood that they are half thai. I am blown away by knowing how many foreigners are interested in learning Thai and love our country. Feeling so grateful. At the end part, instead of saying เรียนจากหนังสือ (learning from the books), i might add เอง ‘aeng’ emphasizing the action that im learning myself.. like เรียนเองจากหนังสือและอินเตอร์เน็ต .. Hope my takeaway could be helpful. Cheers! 🎉

Ali definitely sounds like a native. I think that's what language learners cannot quite get it easily by learning in their own countries, it's how to speak naturally. She do benefited from staying in Thailand. Paddy also did a good job on commenter role. You can point some flaws out from the speaker which is not easy for someone who's not native speakers.
Wowww! They all speak good Thai 💚 Impressive. You also did an amazing job, Paddy! It's amazing how familiar and adept you are in Thai language 💚 Really inspiring! Waiting for part 2 🙏
I wish Thai people who study English (or other languages) feel as comfortable and confident as all of you. I have helped countless foreigners learning Thai. They can easily understand and communicate within a few months because they are not scared of making mistakes. They learn from them! P.S. Now, I’m suffering with French. Too many mistakes to learn! Hahahaha
There's a real "hump" to get over when starting learning French. I found people in France to be very patient helpful and friendly when I tried my terrible French there, totally the opposite of the stereotype. So if you have the chance to try talking with French people go for it!
I have heard that French was one of the most difficult languages to learn when you're Thai because the structure and grammar is so different, also even us French people suffer with our grammar sometimes so don't worry ! It's so great that you are learning many languages !!
Sawasdee khraap khum Pim I'm a French teacher living in CM. Don't hesitate to ask me for help and recommendations.. I'm kinda struggling learning Thai myself 555

Wow! What amazing language specimens. Fascinating to hear the influence of different provinces on some of the clips in there too - it's a really good cross section of language. As for to learn by oneself, one of the most common ways to say it would be เรียนด้วยตัวเอง / เรียนด้วยตนเอง or just เรียนเอง Great job Paddy.

Absolutely love this idea which is why I am back here watching this video for about the ninth time. Such a great way to stay motivated and learn from you all. Thanks Paddy.
This is awesome. Some clear takeaways for myself to incorporate into my speaking. #1 Slow down! There is a feeling that speaking Thai quickly is better and slowly is weakness. Often times, at least for myself, long vowel songs become short vowels and certain tones can be lost. This is very useful. Great idea Paddy!
Well done everyone, this video makes me feel so happy to listen to foreigners speak Thai, I know how hard to learn another language, I'm still learning English as much as I can every single day, I always nervous and make mistakes, especially, when I have to speak with a native language but mistakes make perfect!
All of these are impressive.

Same here! I moved to Thailand this year. My father is turkish and my mother is thai but grew up in Sweden so at home and school thai was neeever used. Just basic stuff mother said like "dinner is ready" where are you going , where is that and so on. But I've never really used it in conversations. 27 now and starting:)
A big round of applause to everyone, you're doing such a good job. Thank you for your interest in learning Thai. I hope you guys will, if you haven't already, have a chance to visit Thailand soon, especially Felipe. Wishing you all the best in your Thai learning journey! 11:40 You got it Paddy. I'd also say "เรียนเอง จากหนังสือและอินเตอร์เน็ท". I'd put หนังสือ first as it sounded more natural in Thai. OMG, Pete. Your wife is so lucky to have such a lovely husband like you. At the same time, you're lucky to have her as well.
I never thought speaking thai could be so much fun. Listening to everyone makes me adore thailand even more. The thais are always so friendly and easy going and I pick that up in the language. Another great video
As a Thai, I'm very impressed with all of these candidates/participants. Keep up the good work guys! Thais would say เรียนด้วยตัวเอง (lit. learn by myself) for self-teach.
I was so mesmerized when it comes to the way Ali spoke. She sounds natural and I feel like she knows Thai like the back of her hand. Another thing in my mind, I think what Luana was tryna say was she is in the faculty of education NOT animal study in the university. It's kinda strange to me for that study in the university. In Thai, we do say "ศึกษาศาสตร์" NOT "ศึกษาสัตว์" but I admit that the last syllables are pronounced closely. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Well done Paddy for widening the range of topics on your UA-cam videos, this was really interesting. My wife and young daughter are Thai so I understand when they are gossiping about me but would love to learn how to gossip back at them one day in Thai.
I'm blown away by Ali's speaking! It sounds natural and I can't notice she's not thai by her pronunciation. Good job 👏🏼 By the way, all of those learners are good at pronunciation too. The tones is really challenging for foreigners but you all nailed it. I can easily understand what you all are saying. Keep going!
Great work! I think what Paddy is doing in this video is exceptional. His ability to be able to pinpoint the sticking points for foreigners learning to speak Thai is outstanding. As a native Thai speaker, I am blown away by the insightful advice that he gives (it might have come from his firsthand experience learning Thai). Keep up the good work. I'm looking forward to the second episode of this video series.
This was amazing to see all these people speaking thai. I woukd love to speak it but I really really struggle with the sounds and tones. As a scot living in ireland most people would say that I should learn to speak English properly before moving on to anything else. Really looking forward to part 2 and well done to all of you for being brave enough to go on camera to shame the rest of us
Note: Another thing Aurora is missing is how she pronounces the "ng" sound which I understand hard for foreigners, especially those from the west, but I saw dozens of people nailed it. So, keep it up!
Trevor’s tone is quite on point though. And the remark you made about shortened vowel on the word pasathai is not really a big deal. Actually, when you shorten it a bit it even sounds more natural.

I have to be biased, when I say that Thai ( and the language spoken in the Filippines) are the most beautiful languages
I love Thai and Lao as well. Thai is sweet, polite, gentle...Lao is its "funny" and straightforward version. I love both.
