This could easily become a podcast series where Perth talks about his experiences working as an actor and could feature a lot of other Thai actors as guest could be really interesting!!!
Same! Or at least visit for a while. I also feel more connected to the industry when people who also speak English as a first language share their experiences adapting to a new culture.
I’m 100% Thai. Born in the States but grew up Thailand and went to a Thai school. I’ve been back in the US for over 10 years and I’m also a professional Thai teacher. I still get Thai people asking me if I can speak, read and write Thai when I’m clearly doing all of those in front of them 😂
@@Maya23452For me as Thai I would say Perth’s tone like 85-90% , Comparing two of them Luke sounds better in Thai and I really surprised that someone especially an adult (like him) who started to learn another language could have that perfect tone and almost 99% sounds like Thai people!!
Hi Perth! Very interesting interview and quite informative….all the best to you both with your ongoing acting and modelling careers. See you in the movies👍👍👍 Cheers mate ! from Perth WA🥰
There's no way it felt like an hour video, dyam, that was really a good and interactive collab, it was lively and definitely insightful ✨😌 Luke is the embodiment of optimistic with sensible and realistic mindset person
Luke really looks serious in this informal interview. He shows how much he commits himself in acting. His career path is very clear. Even if he always shows his funny, easy-going part, he also has very attractive way of thinking, good attitude and he is very smart the way he expresses himself. I hope he will be part of the industry as long as he can/wishes.
"It's not about saying something with the perfect grammar or using all the correct words; it's about getting across the message that you want to get across." YES! This is 100% true and is my core, absolute #1 belief as a language teacher. Everything they're saying about learning a language is correct (though for English there's less need to interact with native speakers; fluency is what matters for English since there are thousands of varieties). Source: I am a professional English language teacher with a master's in Learning/Teaching Language (and language research and policy).
I am a Certified Medical Interpreter for Spanish (native English/French speaker) and I agree 100% with you. Any amount of a non-native language you learn makes you a more interesting person, gives you cultural competency, and gives you more opportunities in life. I also used to teach English as a second language to Vietnamese and Mexican people. Luke's point of not being afraid to open your mouth and speak the language is the first lesson I teach people. I surrounded myself with people that were willing to correct me when I said something incorrectly.
I just love the fact that this ain't a short 20 min clip but 1 whole hour of them. There's no rush and they keeping their prespective on plate.... I AM SOOOOO SATISFIED HEARING THISSSSS WHOLE VIDEO. I've loved both of you in Thai BL series / Lakorn. Luke, if you are reading this... I'm still watching BLs because I hope one day we will get JossLuke ship in series. Jokes apart, I really adore both of them. I want them in roles they've never expected. They have so muchh potential. I'll stop ranting. Thanks.
I like how Luke would speak in Thai to explain something, there are some things in every language that can't be translated to mean what you want exactly. That is why learning another language is important so you can find new ways to say something; especially if a Western person learns an Asian language, so many concepts and expressions in Asia that the West doesn't have
Currently watching The Jungle series starring Luke, so I was pleasantly surprised by this collab. Interesting to see the different & similar POV between Thai-based & International-based model/actor experiences. Great work on the interview video, Perth & Luke

1:01:19 A interesting thing about this is that, as a foreign fan from Brazil, it was much easier for me to connect with Perth than with many other fully Thai actors. I don't know exactly why, but I feel like it would be much easier for me to talk to Perth, maybe because we have more similar cultures. It's just that with completely Thai actors, I don't think I could have a conversation in English without being afraid of saying something wrong and offending them in some way. Which it's a thing that I don't really think that could happen with Perth. But anyway, I loved the video so much that even though it was 1am in Brazil, I couldn't stop watching, love from Brazil ❤.
their combined vibes is so interesting. Perth is nervous and shy, but excited to share his perspective, whereas luke is more laid-back and calm and expresses himself clearly
There is something really enjoyable and comforting about watching Perth just having a good time with another person just sharing experiences with each other
i'm ngl, i've never watched any of luke's stuff, but when i saw him in the background of clips from safehouse i assumed he was native thai because he fits in so well visually. hearing him speak english with zero accent and completely fluently followed by finding out he's japanese-american was a MASSIVE shockwave 😭
As an American, I think both of you are very good looking! It's a little funny, because I just took one of your Thai Language "lessons," and I enjoyed it. Good luck to both of you!

What an interesting video. Very insightful. I've only seen Luke in dramas, never an interview. I can't believe he graduated from State College High School. My parents lived in nearby Lock Haven, and I have been to State College more times than I can count (small world). "The Jungle" was awesome! It just ended yesterday! It was crazy good. I found GMMTV during the pandemic and have gone down the Thai drama rabbit hole. I am really thankful that UA-cam carries these series! Thanks, Perth, for another great video!
I enjoyed this conversation a great deal and was fascinated to hear about both of your experiences. I just finished watching the final episode of The Jungle this week and was most impressed by all of the performances, Luke’s in particular. This video seems particularly well timed, since, at least in the US, it’s still true that it’s Luke’s birthday.
Bravo guys! Really informative video. Always interesting to hear different perspectives of people who live in an Asian country but are still learning the local way of life. It can be a big culture shock when you move from a western country to an Asian country and I appreciate hearing your personal takes on it. Hope you guys continue to be successful in all your endeavours, I'm a big fan of both your work, and hope to see you in many future Thai series/movies. I actually just finished watching The Jungle, brilliant performance Luke!

Just to put it out there. I'm Thai myself and grew up in England and being surrounded by both Western and Asian beauty standards and preferences, I have a fairly good perception of both sides. I find both Perth and Luke very handsome and I think whether in the West or in Asia they would still be considered handsome. Now personally, I don't find Brad Pitt that handsome, (except when he starred as Achilles in Troy) so it goes to show that every country has their own beauty preferences. And even then, you can still have your own personal preferences that differ from your country's normally preferred beauty. I grew up and was raised in the England with their western beauty standards since I was a toddler, but still being Thai, I still had those beauty influences from that Asian side as well. But even so, I can name plenty of Thai actors/actresses (but will not name them) that are seen as super good-looking, handsome, beautiful, but I would hold the complete opposite opinion. The same goes for western celebrities. So basically, to each their own. I still believe that both Luke and Perth are definitely seen as handsome in the West as well. They have that handsome, mixed charm that both Asian people and western people can appreciate ^_^
That was absolutely awesome and so interesting, too! Between the two, you really have put in the work and beat the odds! It was great listening to you share your experiences and advice!
I knew Luke worked at GMMTV but I didn't know anything else about him so this was really cool to learn more, like about his autoimmune disease and his experiences! Thank you for doing a video like this Perth! ❤️🔥
Perth, thank you for presenting this podCast with Luke. Your chemistry combined IS so amazing and really fun and enjoyable to watch. It felt like you have made us part of a close circle, Very refreshing and informative. Learned so much about the Thai movie industry, which I strongly believe is the very best best movie industry in Asia, most competitive with K-dramas. And thanks for presenting best practices when learning a new language. Thanks again to You and Luke for the Candid and open conversation. Both Of you maintain a joy in your lives. Keep up the good work and with you and your families very good fortune
Loved hearing both the similarities and differences in your experiences, and very happy that you've both found success. Perth, you're a really comfortable conversationalist, it's delightful to listen to you chat with others. I would be very interested in learning about how other people found themselves in different aspects of the entertainment industry (both in front of and behind the camera), because I have no chance of being cast (I'm very realistic about my appearance and height).
This was an excellent video Perth. Love it when you talk about your experiences in Thailand. I was so excited that your guest was none other than gorgeous Luke!! I am watching The Jungle and I recommend it highly. Luke’s character is the Wolf 🐺 he is awesome in it and he sings on the OST as well❤
When Luke was talking about having a lot of gigs if you're a genuinely nice actor, I immediately thought of Mark Pakin! That man's in every GMM show lol. Or whether you know, he's really a character actor like Neo and Drake, too, I like to believe those guys are sincerely nice.
This was such a fun and endearing interview. I love the work that both of you do so hearing your insights about being foreign actors was so interesting. You both has some unique perspectives that makes it relatable but also hilarious so thank you for this. ❤
I love how eloquent and articulate Luke & Perth are. It’s definitely refreshing to see them show how success is a processed journey & doesn’t just fall in your lap. & their portrayal of the power of dedication and tenacity. I hope to see more of the both of them in the future!!
The most successful foreign actor is actually Ananda Everingham he's Half Aus and Laos born in Bangkok but use Australian citicenship. ( most people think he's Thai) He just earn Thai citizenship not so long ago.
Well done! I'm hopeful that you'll do more of such videos! This one was so insightful for someone like me who is a relative newbie to the world of Thai drama. I have to admit that I've been floored by the extent to which Thai actors go to provide opportunities for their fans to have access to them. On the one hand, as a fan, I lap up every opportunity to catch a glimpse of what kind of people my "ships" are, while at the same time I feel rather guilty because I feel I'm infringing on their privacy. It was somewhat reassuring to hear that paparazzi are illegal in Thailand, so in that sense, the actors we see in these videos have apparently consented to participate in these activities and are aware that there are lots of eyes and cameras focused on them. At the same time, it also helps me understand how some fans can become rather obsessive about their bias - previously, I found myself mystified that they could get so caught up in their adoration that they would feel as though they had been betrayed when their bias got involved in an actual relationship rather than remaining as a supposedly potential partner. I still don't understand such obsessiveness, but at least I have a bit of an inkling how it can develop. Well, enough of my rattling on. Thanks again for making videos like this that explore different aspects of Thai culture, including the entertainment industry!
i didn't even realize this was 1 hour long!? seriously, both of your stories were interesting and fun to hear. definitely a captivating content. so to be an actor/actress in thailand is hard you gotta be able to speak thai fluently atleast. i have to give Luke probs for his thai skill. Dedication is the key lesson i learnt today. Thank you!
I love this! Thank you for doing this collab and giving us an insight into your experiences and life in Thailand. I’m originally from Malaysia and have lived in the UK for 16 years. When you mentioned about how Thai people comment about your looks or weight etc. while Westerners don’t, I could so relate to that because whenever I go back to Malaysia for a visit, I have to be ready for the comments but not take them to heart 😂
Both of your stories are interesting and inspirational. Keep doing your thing and learning new things. The good & the bad. That's what life is all about. Sending support from California! 🤗
You’re the only two actors I’ve seen irl! ❤❤ I randomly saw you on a train when I was traveling in Japan this summer, and I saw Luke at the airport when I was leaving Thailand in January. Both were random encounters! I never saw any other celebrities in either place. It’s such a coincidence that the only two actors I saw irl are both foreign! I didn’t want to bother either of you, so I didn’t say anything, but it’s just so random that I saw you both irl without even trying! ❤❤
@@waeeeezeeeee Right?!?? Seeing Luke at the airport is more likely because he lives in Thailand, but seeing Perth on a train in Japan of all places was just so random!!
Great video. Would love to see more along these lines. Maybe one on the perspective of a native actor and what their experience/journey is with their career vs. what yours is.
When I first saw Luke a few years ago I thought wow he's very attractive. He looks like a model. Hearing his conversation with Perth in this video now I'm like wow he speaks with a lot of education and maturity. Take care you guys
When he started talking about the closeness of fans and actors in thailand I feel that was so real As many of you I follow several thai actors especially from BL but Intouch from my engenier and Benz from between us actually know my name and And ask where have I been is I don't log in for a while That's a matter of fact In touch, remember that I have a car accident last year and asked me directly, how was my health Like with things like that how you do not love this guys ❤
GMMTV is not "almost" but it's "THE" biggest talent management company in Thailand. A subsidiary of GMM Grammy (with the largest Thai awards festival: Grammy Awards), GMMTV is Thailand's largest production company. To GMM Grammy we must add One31, Altime Media Company, Change2561 and many others.
Lol! O...k calm down , I'm sure it was just a little slip of the tongue ..... GMMTV almost, statement 😅 I am an American and I love, love all Thai bl, and realize the letters of gmmtv, is all in caps (capital letters) is something to take notice of......and a good incantation of its, importance and high status of recognition, well noted to most all who is familiar with this agency 😌
BRO I tapped the screen to like the video and then realized I've been watching it for an hour! Like what?! I didn't realize it's been so long haha guess I really enjoyed that one.
Perth conducted an entertaining and professional interview. Your intelligent and articulate guest resulted in an excellent podcast. I look forward to more like this in the future. 💙👍
Man, Perth is just a vibe that is just swonderful and pure. It’s what the world needs. He needs to have a big break. It will be beneficial to the general population to know of him❤
Stumbled across this video by chance- really fascinating to hear about the experiences of these two young men. Very handsome and they have their heads screwed on. They appear very mature and humble and extremely articulate. Luke Plowden is devastatingly handsome he reminds me of a K-Pop idol. The world is shrinking and there is more work for people of different cultures. Asian pop music and TV shows and Movies are "cool' and are achieving success in the west like never before. It's encouraging to see the various cultures begin to blend and meld together. Perth and Luke are now very well placed to work in a number of markets being native English speakers and being fluent/proficient in Thai. Good luck with the careers going forward boys!
Perth is excellent, as he brings many who have experience, being a foreign actor in Thailand. Luke is an excellent actor, loved his dramas, and also Perth's dramas are excellent. How wonderful to hear ones perspective. I for one would have a hard time culturally living in Thailand. So many differences, that it would be to big a culture shock for me, if I were an actress wanting to work overseas. Thank you so much for this, I enjoyed it very much.
Thank you so much for such interesting collaboration! Always nice to hear more life stories, experiences in kinda like interview. This one felt just like sitting with friends 😁
I really enjoy your channel, as it provides the audience with deeper insights into Thailand's entertainment and BL industry. Recently, I watched My Stand-In and got to know Uppoompat as an actor. I found him to be someone with great insight. If possible, it would be great to see the two of you have a relaxed, in-depth chat about Thailand's TV & BL industry.

I really like listening to Perth speak, 1 hour passed by like 20 minutes wow 😂 also I really like how perth's perspective of things in geral is really close to mine. Thanks for the advice on learning languages, I don't usually talk in english cause I'm afraid of committing mistakes and being pointed out but I will try more, even if I sound funny or wrong. Thanks, guys!!

This video was a breath of fresh air seeing 2 of my favorite people collab I never knew I needed and seeing your perspectives on the industry
I KNEW Luke's American accent was too good when he'd speak English in The Jungle! Also, with his hair that way, Luke looks like Phuwin.
Luke’s character is the Wolf 🐺 he is awesome in it and he sings on the OST as well❤
Omg i loved the honesty and vibe of the Interview and the whole Video❤ thank you so much for sharing your experiences with us
When Luke was talking about having a lot of gigs if you're a genuinely nice actor, I immediately thought of Mark Pakin!
The only bad thing about this video is its not long enough :")
Wish to see more of this podcast with other guests as well
Perth, this was an amazing interview! Luke is really lovely and your enthusiasm was great as always. More interviews please! ❤
That was so fun!! I had no idea you knew anyone from GMMTV and it was cool hearing an experience of someone from America as well.
This has been a huge part of the SoMe community for 3 months. I'VE ENJOYED IT ! And then ....... M I X 😄 freaking love that guy 🤣🥰
Omg Perth, you were so adorable this whole show. The amount of times you got flustered is so funny. Thanks for this vid, I love you both so much.
i didn't even realize this was 1 hour long!? seriously, both of your stories were interesting and fun to hear. definitely a captivating content.
so to be an actor/actress in thailand is hard you gotta be able to speak thai fluently atleast. i have to give Luke probs for his thai skill.
I wasn't familiar with Luke but it's cool to have someone for Perth to bounce off of with similar experiences!
Lucky!
wow the coincidence is insane!!!
@@waeeeezeeeee Right?!?? Seeing Luke at the airport is more likely because he lives in Thailand, but seeing Perth on a train in Japan of all places was just so random!!
@@sandhu2803 yes for Perth is just insane 🤯 haha how i wish i have that kind of luck 😆
That was so interesting ! Like really !! This kind of video are so cool Perth, thank you ^^ And kudos to Luke too !! You too are wonderful actors 💜
But then the company itself is very questionable 😭
@@itsnatemate7697the company or the people in it?
@@alexnaava816 Both
That
The best of the best among your videos. Entertaining fascinating and informative.
You two get on so well.
Ask Luke back again 😊
I'm freaking out omg i NEVER expected Perth and Luke together
Listening to you both is such fun and learned much about you two and your experiences.. as an interfan I love it listening english speaking Thai actors where in I understand everything and not reading the subs ☺️ supporting you both from overseas Perth and Luke! I never thought i'ts more than an hour already.. keep going guys! ♥️
This was such a wonderful video. I didn’t realize luke wasnt thai at all, knew he was hapa but yeah. I feel like a lot of Perth’s feelings are what a lot of us mixed kids feel like.
謝謝! Perth 邀請 Luke 來聊天 ❤
This video was so much fun! I first saw Luke in a Domundi vlog from like 5 years ago and I really liked him. Thank you for having him on your channel ☺️
Perth, this is an amazing video! As an actor in America who is learning Thai, this was so fascinating for me! I loved hearing how the industry is different and also the same as the industry here. Thank you for inviting Luke and for sharing your stories! ❤❤
I didn't notice that the video was 1 hour long😂but it was very interesting. The subjects were fun, and you guys' experiences were fun as well😂Thank you for sharing these. Looking forward to your next video❤
Such an amazing video. Much love to you Ishikawa and Perth😍
We need more podcast episode like this!🥹🫶🏻 love you guys’ energy 🥰🥰
lol i can totally get your point Perth people in Asia carry no or very small burden when commenting/praising/criticizing on other ppl's looks. It is definitely not the case in north america
Great collab and very interesting to learn your experiences as foreigners who immersed themselves in language and culture and are working successfully in the local entertainment industry
This interview was really interestingl. Thank you for inviting Luke 🫶🏼❤️ keep it up
Love this new direction your channel is going! Love the variety
Wow! an hour videos but me kinda enjoying this quality talk with western's perspective about being foreign actors in Thailand! good job!
Great collaboration with Luke ❤❤
A collaboration I didn't know that I needed ❤
I never watched any series with Luke before but after this collab interview I will definitely go watch some. Starting with the Jungle ❤❤❤
My dear Donovan it is really good 😊
@zuleijamurillomorocho923 Yes it is!
He is insanely impressive in Drag, I Love You! The show is so fun!
Was here during the live!! I hadn't heard of Luke before this, so thank you for introducing him to the channel Perth, it was super interesting to hear about both of your journeys in the industry. I love the chatty type vids, maybe you *should* actually start a podcast!! 🤭
Luke is an actor in GMM and he plays in straight shows lol
Ótima colaboração! Foi tão bom ver os dois juntos debatendo sobre as experiências deles na indústria, adoreeeei
Going into this with no knowledge of Luke but damn he’s a great conversationalist! Well-spoken, respectful and listens actively. Hardly see conversations these days without people cutting each other off.
