How about the murders Brigham Young savagely ordered at Mountain Meadows? How about Brigham Young's very young child brides? You have the full truth🤣🤣🤣🤣

Very few people can see that truth you found. Iam from africa kenya and i met missionary 30 years ago when i was 14year and they baptised me. Good for David! I'm proud of him. He has taken a long hard look in many different churches, found out what he was looking for and found that in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
And yet the journey has just begun. Baptism does not close the door, it opens the door and now we have the rest of this life and the rest of eternity to continually improve and come closer to our Father in Heaven.

David experienced a mighty change of heart by exercising faith in Jesus Christ. Please let me add my witness that I too know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints is the Lord's restored church on the Earth today. Joseph Smith received the keys of priesthood authority to restore the Savior's church on the Earth prepatory to His return. We have a prophet again on the Earth today, Russell M. Nielson. Everyone is invited to study the Book of Mormon and pray about it's truthfulness. Those who do with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Jesus Christ can come to know by the power of the Holy Ghost that it is true. A witness from the Holy Ghost is the most sure form of witness that it is true. I have received that witness innumerable times.

Congrats David. My maternal grandfather was Lutheran, his wife was presbyterian, and my mother grew up attending the local presbyterian church but upon visiting a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint church meeting she said she had never felt such incredible feelings. She listened to the missionary discussions about restorationist teachings and she was converted after feeling strong spiritual feelings. My paternal grandmother was also presbyterian and her and some siblings were also touched by the spiritual experiences in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and joined years before my mother. And so we are another set of Protestants who converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I can definitely understand the sense of loss on the part of protestant members when my mother, grandmother, and some of her siblings left. But the incredible spiritual manifestations felt at church and in temples was icing on the cake of additional/clarifications to previous held beliefs. It makes so much sense to me of God being our actual father and gives purpose of what we are becoming/preparing for in life, and where we are going. I understand how difficult that may be for my protestant brothers/sisters who hold firmly to protestant Christian thought about doctrine of trinity, sola scriptura, etc. I respect it. After all, that's where my family came from since the inception of protestantism in the 1500's. Before that, it was catholicism. So respect all around. One of the articles of our faith is to let all men worship, how, where, or what they may, understanding God will not force the mind of any man, woman, or child, but uses the principles of love and gentle persuasion and allow his holy spirit to work within us as we decide to allow room in our hearts for new paradigms.

Except the book of Mormon presents a different gospel (Galatians 1:8) than historical Biblical Christianity does:
      1. The gospel according to Mormonism: people can make themselves "right with God" only through following religious acts, commandments and ordinances, in order to prove themselves and earn God's favour, but can never be sure of that favour. There is no salvation outside of the Mormon church.
2.The gospel according to Historical Biblical Christianity: Jesus paid the debt we owed as sinners - He made a way for us to be made righteous with God, by grace not works. "He saved us, not on the basis of deeds we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing by the Holy Spirit (Titus 3:5). "But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners" (Romans 5:8).This is the gospel the good news of the Bible. Jesus paid the debt we owed, He made a way for us to be made right with God through faith, apart from our works which are filthy rags (Isaiah 64:6). Salvation is a gift we accept by faith. Jesus is our substitute our mediator. We don't need a religion, an organization or a prophet to stand between us and God, only Jesus is that mediator (1 Timothy 2:5-6) :

There are wonderful people in many churches. What the restoration has a great responsibility to share the events that I brace the need of the restoration.Joseph smith gave so much up to carry out his calling of the restoration. Had so much heart aches and persecution through his short life.even giving up his life. If it was just something he had prefabricated, he would have backed out years before he had his life taken. He had nothing to gain. But he knew what he saw, and was instructed to do he never faltered . Never claimed to be perfect but never denied what he knew to be true. Very few would or could do what he did, with all he sacrificed for his Saviour and the difficult calling he was given. Stay strong, your discussion was your Heavenly Father’s blessing to you for seeking truth. As you alluded to, you have to wade through a lot of filth to get to the solid ground and see the fruits of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. As someone who grew up in the church, I started out with the fruit and developed a love for the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith and saw how much good it brought into my life before I was even exposed to the fog of contention that surrounds the church on the internet and so forth. So I have a lot of admiration for what you have done, and what you are going through.

It’s not just other Christian influencers, but it’s former members of our own church, secular sources, one’s own family in a lot of cases. That is one thing I've noticed watching your videos, David, that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints does differently. We are so focused on learning to receive personal revelation and learning to feel the spirit. This skill is learned and cultivated through the work we do at church. Members of the congregation teach the lessons, give the talks, we have people we are assigned to minister to, doing service projects. We are taught to do these things through the spirit, prayer, scripture study, and fasting. Yes, it's a lot of work at times but sooo worth it. We often comment that the lesson or talk we are assigned to give was actually meant for ourselves, that we learn so much from teaching. It is our blessing. We grow closer to God and Christ through these things. We learn to hear him. He walks with us as we work. It's so awesome!

It can be very frustrating being a member and wanting to emulate God's love and Christ's love (as we are taught to do), and being constantly attacked. It is a big and scary choice to adapt one's beliefs, no matter one's religion, and making an effort to have patience with others' beliefs and compassion is HUGE in my book, and not easy.

My parents converted from Mormonism to Catholicism right at the time I was born in the 1950’s. They are both passed now. They encouraged us to find our own religion and were happy when my sister converted to Mormonism as a teenager. My other sister converted to Greek Orthodox and again my parents were thrilled. They even were great with me dropping religion altogether as they saw the content of my character plus I never agreed with any faith that treated LGBTQ folks as second class.

When I was baptized I didn’t even realize I was joining a church. I thought I was just getting baptized, which would remit my sins, by genuine priesthood authority - like milk and honey with no money and no price. Or a gift offered freely to me. Then I began absorbing instructions about obedience and being “called” by priesthood authority to do this or that. It was an adjustment. And little by little I became acclimated to the culture and to the commonly quoted refrain that “obedience is better than sacrifice “. Living this way has helped me fashion a life much fuller than it would have been without all my efforts to be obedient. But I wonder sometimes if my own creativity and capacity to be governed and led by the Holy Spirit was diminished in the midst of this drive to be obedient. But I definitely was not shopping for a church when I received the ordinance of baptism.

Love both of your shows very much, and feel you both are good guys. I'm not the most eloquent, nor feel texts aren't the best way to communicate,so I will keep it short. I like how you both aren't critical of others faiths... So I will list why I feel and actually know the best one can, that there is a loving Father in Heaven, and He knows us, sets up circumstances that will best help us Hear His voice, recall old knowledge we gained in the Preexistence. As I see He has done in both of your lives. I was on an LDS mission in Scotland and N Ireland in 79-81, So many things showed me ( with all do respect to others faiths) That my upbringing, culture, faith, doctrine , fruits especially were all because of my heritage of being a Latter day Saint. We aren't perfect, but North Ogden Utah was nearly Heaven, the Brits became my friends, but I'm so so glad my 5th Grandfather and others gave up a lot in the UK mostly, and moved to Utah, made a dessert blossom as a rose. The UK kids were so sadly lost, many in the dole, had little desire to work, marry have kids, even move out of their Mums flat. But all that said I knew it was right and right for me, but still not quite confident it was right for them, So I prayed the hardest I had ever up to that point, was humbled, listening, and a very Strong almost indescribable light, love, acknowledgement, comfort started at the top of my head as I was nealing and burned from my crown as it were the light of a copying machine flowing throw down my body, no words but a strong impression I was there to do Heavenly Father's and Christ's work to bring salvation to those there. But beyond that as I look back over decades, that their families because of Modern Prophets direction, and well ran Kingdom, that their lives would have been better, as the Gospel through Christ's atonement makes us better. Now sadly there are over 1500 Churches in the UK that closed then later became Mosques. Fewer even believe in God... I hoped that if not joining mine that they would attend their own. Second It's a long story but I was adopted at birth, raised as I said in N Ogden under beautiful Ben Lomond, 75 miles South in Utah Valley in early 80s I felt I was driving into a four mile dome of micro Prisms( like millions of pencils that were the spectrum like a rainbow with a shiney bright white shiney end, ya I know sounds crazy, byt true)( kinda reminded me if your experience going to ti the Temple the first time David), I felt lots of emotions all at the same time, happy, sad,new , old, dajavu to the 10th power, boiled down to 'Home,' anyway, I thought maybe it's my ancestors home, nah I thought its too close to N. Ogden anyway at the end of the day coming back up I-15 it wasnt nebulous but it was something getting warmer, and warmer, like the "button " game, it got very hit, and I prayed in my head "God , you better give me a clue or I will miss it" not expecting an answer, esp verbally, but I heard firmly, calmly, lovingly " Be at peace, I will let you know, don't worry about it" I was happy but a bit shocked, questioning my sanity, what had just transported, then it was getting even hotter, I said the same prayer, and amazingly I got the same verbal answer. Then it cooled down, and I knew it was a 15 acre park off I -15 in American Fork, to make it shorter , years later when I met my Birth Parents, it was my 5th Grandfathers Edward Robinsons Homestead! He was the first train conductor on the Rocket the first train, after his son, my 4 th Grandfather was a very near death infant, a young Brighter Young blessed him to live to a ripe old age of which he did 85, so Ed joined the faith in Manchester, his life and posterity have been richly blessed because if it,as yours to will be Brother Boyce... As Utah is rated number one state by US Business Mag, for many reasons, though again not perfect, and I understand ethicetrucism, But it like the Temples are a refuge from the world, though satan is doing his best to beat up the USA and Utah( Etc) where ever the Saints are, and they are Zion also,I miss Utah but Queen Creek and Gilbert, Az are nice too, with strong members. So sorry it's still long, but have been wanting to communicate with both of you for nearly 2 years, respect you both..... My God continue to bless us... PS I felt a strong hunch you Bro David would join, and Steve you also in a couple more years,. ;)

@@gbengoosewuru4139 I don't have a problem with church. There are lots and lots of churches. There should be at least one for everyone if they need that community. David has apparently found one that he feels will work for him. It did not work for me. It works for my 3 kids, their spouses and most of my grandkids. I raised my kids in the LDS church because I'm pioneer stock and live in Utah. When I was raising my kids it was great to have the community and structure. I had lots of misgivings about some of the beliefs especially eternal polygamy but I would rationalize my way through any questions. Now I find I only need Jesus and my ABBA (God-Daddy) He has ALWAYS been with me whether I go to a church or not. I have had lots of miracles in my life and NEVER had a priesthood blessing to get one. ABBA just answers my prayers and loves me unconditionally. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I believe Jesus died on the cross for the WHOLE world just like it says in the New Testament (New Covenant). That would include Catholics, Protestants, LDS, Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims, Jews, etc and Sinners. He defeated death and Satan on the cross. ❤️❤️❤️ He came to show the Father's LOVE. ❤️❤️❤️

As an evangelical I am happy for you either way and think Mormons can be good Christian’s too. I do mourn for your craft beer though. If your craft beer is only 3 to 4% alcohol it would technically fall under the 1800’s term of “mild drinks of barley” used in the word of wisdom.
That said, your bishop may not understand it that way so it could still get you in trouble. The process of making beer of course kills a lot of pathogens in the water so back then beer with a moderate amount of alcohol was safer than plain water and wouldn’t get you drunk if you only had 1 or two and ate at the same time.

@@Sirach144 they believe Jesus in the New Testament is Lord, that he came in the flesh, died and lived again and they believe He is the Son of God like first John says a true disciple does. They believe that because of Jesus we can be saved from sin.
They have lots of silly rules, they have weird ontological views of God that are nonsensical, and their prophet Joseph Smith was a sexual predator who was horribly abusive to his wife Emma and used his position of trust as a spiritual leader to coerce a lot of women into sexual relationships with him that they felt wrong about. He used the name of Jesus to usurp power over people. He went completely off the rails because he believed his own intuitions superseded the Bible.
That said, salvation comes from grace through faith in Jesus. As far as I can tell from scripture, Salvation doesn’t go away because you think a bad guy like Joseph Smith was a good guy. Most Mormons do trust in and believe in Jesus.

@@margynelson7945 in Luke 21:34 Jesus warns about the problem of drunkenness, and in Galatians and Corinthians it is in a list of sins of the flesh. Drunkenness is different from having a drink or two with a meal or drinking a bit at a celebration like a wedding (think of Jesus’ first miracle) but in this day when we have other ways to purify water it makes sense to avoid it especially if you or people around you might be prone to over drinking.
