Next season, do 52 temples in 52 weeks. Showcase the history of each temple. They are all unique and special in the community. It's sad to see anti-mormons ty to stop their building. (Especially anti Mormons posing as active members traveling across the entire globe just to protest a new temple in a different country)
Look into the experiences of the first converts. We have hundreds of journals and records on miracles, visions, reactions to new doctrine, and accounts of those who knew Joseph Smith personally. They will always trump any opinions that anyone can give you. I'm curious about your own family history as well. If your from Wisconsin, you likely have ancestors who would have at least known about Joseph Smith, for better or for worse.
Thanks for sharing! I converted from being an evangelical in 2014. I went through things in 2020 and removed my name, but was rebaptized on April 20th, 2024. I’ve enjoyed watching your faith journey while I was having mine. It’s great to be back on the covenant path.
To be a Covenant member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints you need to have your own testimony. For those of us who convert as adults, well…. We bring along a lot of baggage: old attitudes, old habits, old vocabulary (!). I joined the Church at the age of 23 in 1966. Much of what lifelong members already knew was brand new to me. And, dear brother, there IS a learning curve! But gradually the Gospel and the culture will become part of your bones. But is is frequently said that being immersed in the Gospel from youth is no guarantee of a testimony. Each of us needs conversion. At 82 I am still learning to control my mouth (one of my greatest challenges), and I’m finding that my testimony of the Book of Mormon is growing. So never think there is an end to learning. There isn’t, unless you choose to stop. 😊 Virtual hugs from Houston.
David, I've been a member for 69 years now. I have really enjoyed watching your conversion and baptism into The Church of Jesus Christ! Conversion is a lifelong process. I have read and studied and prayed throughout my life, and it has been an amazing spiritual journey. I'm grateful for the strength of my testimony, which has come thru studying the scriptures and applying those principles in my life!
Welcome to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I was so happy when you announced your conversion to the Church. I converted to the Church 3 years ago today, and my journey has been the happiest time of my life. I pray that you find joy and peace and blessings along your covenant path.
I remember , when I joined the Church, I was in Louisiana in a Baptist college, and had to go back to SanDiego, I had to decide, am I going to tell .y parents I joined the church or am I going back to the way I was. I decided I know this is the restored Church of Jesus Christ and I couldn't deny it. My familygave me a really hard time but I knew it was true and couldn't deny it. Isn't the restored gospel wonderful? To finally know what is true! Your videos are inspiring. Thank you!
I LOVE the analogy of moving from the boat towards Christ ❤ I am a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, have lived my entire life in the Salt Lake Valley, and just celebrated my 72nd Birthday. I am being converted EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
That's what Christ intended for it to be. A way of life. If you aren't doing it like that, technically you're doing Christianity wrong. When He said "Follow me", He didn't mean "Follow me when convenient", did He? No.
I love your 52 churches in 52 weeks as it reminded me of my search for Christ's Ministry Church as in New Testament when I was a teenager so many years ago searching for 6 long years. Since then God found me & now I had been a Happy LDS for 35 yrs & counting. Don't be too anxious just take 1 step at a time to build your testimony & lifelong learning in the gospel knowledge.
I am from Chile, pioneers in the 50 used to travel to the US and then Brazil to get their sealings and endowments. It was an enormous economic effort and the only time members got to enter the temple in their lifetimes. Only a few could afford it. Then in 1985 we got the first temple in our country.
Your videos bring happiness to this 79-year-old great grandmother. I admire your positivity and sincerity. I am proud, despite our age differences, to call you my brother.
Tying Simon Peter's name change to his steps on the water with Christ, and the fact that The Rock could walk on water through Jesus Christ 🤯🤯🤯 I had never made that connection. Thank you for that!!!
David, even before you joined the LDS church, I loved listening to you talk about your visits to the various churches, mostly because of your humble and sincere approach to them, seeking for the good and the truthfulness found in them. My appreciation for your sincerity and humble truth-seeking continues today. This post has made me smile several times. Thank you for sharing your process with the world! It's a beautiful testimony to listen to, and a strengthening one. 💛
Taking notes at church, for me, has always been about insight and inspiration and revelation which may or may not have anything to do with the current speaker. Being open to the Holy Spirit. I also note quotes and scripture that I can study later.
This 64 year old life long member of the LDS Church looks so forward to your videos!! We are the grandparents to 9 amazing littles, and we love them all so much!! Hearing your conversion story and your continued progress in the Church makes me so happy!! I've had 64 years in the Church and I am still learning, so you don't need to try and learn everything right away. Just focus on the feelings you had when The Holy Ghost bore witness to you of the truthfulness of the things you were learning. I am so happy that you are on the Covenant Path and that you are progressing toward the Temple and eventually marriage. We raised our children in Provo, Utah, but as empty nesters we are currently living in Fresno California until we retire, and then we will go back to Utah. We have the cutest small Temple here in Fresno!! In fact, my husband and I, and my parents went to that Temple today to do some Sealings. Aren't we so blessed that the world is being dotted with Temples, and making it more accessible for members around the globe!! 🙏❤️ I am glad that you are not rushing into marriage. When the time is right, and probably when you least expect it, that perfect woman for you will come into your life. That is one video I am really looking forward to!! 😉 And also your video of the day you & your fiancée go to a Temple to be married and Sealed together for all time & eternity!! Can you tell that we are planning on you making videos for years to come so we can watch your continued life's journey!! I can already tell that you are going to be one amazing husband & father, and that you are going to do great things in the Church!! Love you Brother Boice!! ❤️ 🙏
I just noticed that the image of Christ you showed was of him holding a black sheep… Could be a sign I needed today. Also the picture of Christ that I’ve not seen in years brought tears to my eyes , it’s pure love and kindness just as I picture him in real life. Forward fearlessly David. How I wish I had your passion, your posts remind me that Christ is willing, waiting, wanting us all to come to him. Can you imagine being embraced by those arms? I need to put my big boy pants on and get his presence and teachings a priority in my life. For anyone out there relating to the black sheep…please watch ( He will place you on his shoulders and carry you home) by president Dieter F Uchtdorf. It is a Christ inspired talk to anyone who has ever felt the gift of the Holy Ghost, and might still be in their lost stage. It hits home just how much we don’t realize how much love our savior has for us. You look great in the suit David , love the tie also. All my love everyone… Tyler
Dear Friend, Brother Boice, It has been a JOY to watch your journey this past year. Your faith walk on the Covenant Path has put a brighter light in your countenance! Your insights are far beyond most new members who have not put as much effort into a relationship with Christ as you have. Congratulations on your ordination. Your first opportunity to bless the Sacrament will be ‘especially special’ for you. Tonight while waiting for a Temple session I was talking to a lady from Utah about our So Cal Temple. As we were whispering I introduced her to 52 in 52 and briefly told her about your journey..she’s probably the 15th person I have steered your direction. You have a lot of fans cheering you on. Oh, btw, your new member vocabulary is AWESOME!
Nothing makes me smile like listening to you as you are learning and sharing what you learn in such an honest and open way. I hope you know how refreshing you are in what can be a contentious and adversarial Christian landscape. You keep doing you; it's the most Christian thing I've seen in a long time. Thanks for going through the extra effort to let us come along with you.
I don’t think you’re going to get a lot of backlash because we have all watched you on this journey, it was interesting to all of us. I just never thought it would be the Mormon church that you would choose. You seem very happy and more confident, so I am happy for you and will be watching you as you grow in your faith.
Hey David, God bless you, my brother! You are being so brave and strong in this world putting your heart in your journey out there for us to see your example, I’m certain you have already helped so many people by sharing your humble spiritual journey with all of us. As a new convert from being a protestant to join the LDS church, if you ever feel like a misfit within the LDS church or like you don’t quite fit in, I’m right there with you, brother! I love the gospel. I love, heavenly father I love our church leaders, and I love The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I can assure you as a heavy metal musician, professionally lifelong playing in bars and clubs and big stages and bands. I can assure you that I have felt like a misfit in the church for many decades. Because of my family situation I am the guy who goes to church alone every week until recently when my wife Began coming with me. I’ve been going alone to church for decades. I’m not at all surprised that you have not received very much verbal abuse at this tender time as a new convert. Unfortunately, sooner or later you were going to have your trials and tests of your faith as a member of the LDS Church. Sooner or later you’re going to meet a member of the church or several members who treat you unkindly or are unfair or our judgmental or are rude or who said a bad example and sooner or later the adversary will get you to question your faith. Hang in there, my brother! Know that Jesus Christ is right there with you walking alongside you every day step-by-step even though you can’t feel him a lot of times. Know that you are not alone even though you might feel alone in those future days when those trials will come. And unfortunately, David those trials will come. They come for all of us and they come again and again and various ceases in our life. I’m so grateful to come across your channel and follow you on your spiritual journey and I’ve told numerous friends about your channel. Hang in there stay faithful be strong even when members of the LDS church are not being strong and our giving you difficulty your pain. Forgive them trust the Lord and move forward. He will raise up friends and People to help and guide you in every way if you will just stay faithful, take it one day at a time and trust the savior and trust our heavenly father and trust our living prophets apostles, and all of our auxiliary church leaders. My heart goes out to you God bless you, brother!
I think that's what having a modern day prophet is all about, but also recent conference talks have also reaffirmed this more recently saying the restoration was not a single event but an ongoing process. Yes, the buck may stop with what the prophets have established but new light, knowledge, insight, should continue to flow as a church body through leadership but also as individual saints in our own lives and stewardships.
David, here is where the reference to a stake comes from. Isaiah 54:2 “Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes;” I’ve been watching you for a long time and have always appreciated your genuine approach and honest open appreciation for everyone who loves the Savior. I was super happy to see you visit a congregation of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Your honest evaluation and ultimately turning to Heavenly Father to get answers has served you well. Love ya brother. You’re on the right path. Keep trusting the Holy Ghost. And welcome to the Lord’s church.
Greetings to you from New Zealand. I had my first contact with the Church when I was 15 and I was barely 10 minutes into my discussion with the missionaries when I knew that what they were saying was true. I was a bit worried about not having the scriptural knowledge to support my belief at first but I very quickly received a conviction that there would be an answer for every question that I asked in faith. That has been the way it has been for the last 65 years or so. The amazing thing is that the more you learn the more you realise how much else there is to learn. The gospel is eternal, our destiny is eternal and the possibilities are limitless. I wish you every blessing as you step out on that water. Trust in the Lord and be true. Much love.
Wonderful testimony! I have noticed that when people have those “ah ha” moments it’s info that made more sense than anything else they had previously known.
All the members of the church are cheering you on. The church is the same thought out the world . Different cultures but the same testimony of Jesus Christ and the restoration of Christ’s church the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The more you put forth the effort the more support you will receive from our Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost though promptings and support of the church family. You are loved. Welcome.😮
David, I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the age of 8, and I am still learning at the age of78. May God continue to bless you as you move along the Celestial path.
The things with notes is; I used to take them all the time tried getting them word for word... Then some advice from Elder Bednar was "what am I hearing that isn't being said" or what is the spirit telling me, those are the notes to take. So often I have been listening and then a name or a idea of service comes to mind that I had not considered before, and miracles happen on follow through to those thoughts!
Today, June 11, i have hit my 1 year mark as a member of the Church. I've been through a lot, especially escaping an excommunication from the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. What a ride
Thank you, Brother Boice, for sharing your conversion story and your heartfelt feelings. As a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Crhist of Latter-day Saints, it is a joy whenever I hear of or see someone embrace the restored gospel and church. It is no easy thing these days for people to be sufficiently humble to allow the Spirit to work in their hearts to bring them ever closer to the Lord Jesus Christ. I certainly wish you well as you continue on the covenant path. It is not an especially easy path, by any means, though the rewards of peace, joy, and enduring hope are well worth every effort.
You talk about being surprised that people haven’t “raked you over the coals” as much as you expected. Sometimes the greatest challenges and persecutions come from within our own minds and hearts when we allow doubt, uncertainty, or just plain “tired of doing this” get in the way of continuing on the covenant path. You have spiritual tenacity like I’ve never witnessed and your remarkable desire for truth will carry you through any challenges you face. Keep carrying on!
I served a mission five decades ago. Have been married in the temple, raised three sons who also served missions and married in the temple. I have served as a temple worker with my husband. My favorited experience has been to watch people grow in the gospel. Watching many life long friends that came from my mission, friends in my personal life, friends in my work life, and friends in the ward. In all of that I have not heard the depth of what you have experienced. I thank you for your candidness. The one suggestion I have is the understanding that whether one converts as an adult or one that has been a life long member the conversion process is still the same: "Line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little." I understand you want it all--there is no end and there is eternity to learn it all. I would like to know your reaction to learning other's conversion stories and what they taught you.
I love that your testimony comes from the scriptures and the Holy Ghost. You have strengthened my testimony and helped me have the courage to reach out to others that are not of my faith. Thank you.
Your right about the conversion process taking a long time. I was baptized in 1978 and I knew it was good, but today my testimony has grown by leaps and bounds. My conversion has been ongoing for 45 years and continues to grow.
Well David, as a convert myself I am not at all surprised by your decision, I have always maintained that finding the truth is not difficult, what can be difficult is having the courage to believe it when you do and then act accordingly. You have a wonderful journey ahead of you, hold fast to the iron rod.
Hello David, Thanks for another excellent and uplifting message. I am a 5th generation member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. My ancestors lived in Kirtland, Independence, suffered and died crossing the plains and went where they were sent by Brigham Young so I have a great heritage, but I could only rely on their legacy for so long. It was a long and difficult struggle, but I have come to know for myself, independent of anyone or anything that the Book of Mormon is the word of God, and this is the Lord's restored Church. I had to go from crawling, to teetering, to walking boldly along the Covenant Path. I love the poem by Dee Groberg entitled The Race. Toward the end it says, "all you have to do to win, is rise each time you fall". I see the fruits of your conversion and they are wonderful. Enjoy and continue the journey.
As a convert myself, I will tell you, its going to feel like its new for years. It's been more than 20 years for me and many aspects still feel like that. Congrats brother!
David, Your journey and genuine witness of your spiritual experiences are true to the pattern many of us have after joining The Church and learning daily how to follow the Covenant Path. I've recently moved to Bear Lake and with my dear wife attend the St. Charles Ward. If you happen to visit the west more in your growth, you are welcomed to stay with us. My dear wife and I are so thrilled that you have taken the time, researched The Church and allowed the Spirit to teach you the truth of the Gospel. I know you probably receive countless invitations to visit other church members, but if you attend with us in the St. Charles Ward, you will have a most wonderful experience. God bless you in your continued efforts to journey in faith. I know that you are having a tremendous positive influence in the world. Respectfully, Richard Seel
I love the boat analogy especially as it relates to Peter walking on water. For me I have recently felt that my life is much like Lehis dream and I am wandering through the midst of darkness. Sometimes I can't see the tree, but I can see lights beside me lighting up the path ahead. Those lights are my ward family members who have helped me get through hardships one step at a time through the darkness. Some lights are not very bright, but in the darkest of dark even just a tiny light can be such a huge blessing. Makes me appreciate all those lights whether they are big or small. I may not be able to se the entire path before me, but I always seem to be able to find that next step when I need it.
Brother Boice ~ When I was 14 years old there were 14 temples worldwide. When I was a freshman @Ricks College (later BYU-I), a temple in South Jordan, Utah was under construction; that was uptown for the west residents of the Salt Lake valley. That temple has been the most working temple of the church. I was married in the Salt Lake Temple. Since then I have visited all of the Utah temples with the exception of those currently under construction. The Primary song, "I Love To See the Temple" is where I stand for Jesus Christ and the ancestors of the living. I love to also visit temples in other states; it's part of my 'Dream Journey.' You'll get to where you want and need to be in time. Pace yourself. All of the 'Utah Mormons' are cheering you on. Best regards, Shirlee Graff-Allen Salt Lake City, Utah
I've been a convert since 1986. What has helped me is learning how the Holy Ghost speaks to me and then relying on Him to help me learn. Believe me there have been times when I was like..."WHAT? Seriously? Then I'd pray and pray and the Holy Ghost would witness that what i was asking about was true. Welcome to the family from Wyoming! We're going to have the open house of our temple in Casper Wyoming starting August 29 to September 14! You should come!❤😊
You are a special young man, you are eager to to learn and grow, your Heavenly Father is very aware of you ,and loves you very much. Stay close to Him. You are His son and will help and bless you. Carol
I loved this post. When I was investigating the Church 47 years ago I remember that I thought a “stake” center was a steak restaurant. You’re not the only one that thought that. I love steak, it’s my favorite food. Thank you so much for sharing your heart. Prayers are being said for you and you are loved. ❤️
@22:17 Love the example of the Good Samaritan, I think that's one of the great points of that story. He wasn't a Jew he wasn't someone that thought the way the Jews did. But he had a heart of Christ, and that is what the Gospel of Jesus Christ is all about. It's not about what you know in your head, it's about how your heart is.
I lived in Missouri 35 years ago where our closest temple was Dallas Texas. As a “branch” (a very small version of a ward, we had 50-60 members from about a 2 hour radius attend weekly), we would take everyone 12 and up once a year on a 9 hour bus ride to Texas, do temple work all day, stay overnight and drive home. As a youth I got to attend once. I live in Utah now and get to attend weekly and am so impressed with how many youth I see there when I go. It’s such a gift to have it close.
@@johnrowley310correct for yourself. Then we repeat attend at our chosen frequency to do ordinances for those who have passed, to experience loads of peace & quiet, & deeply connect to heaven.
I love how you are approaching your membership. You are so far ahead of the curve compared to most new members, but the neat thing is, you don’t need to compare yourself to any other member, new or old. You are developing your discipleship and it is personal for each person, but the Gospel gives each of us the tools and we can be united in our discipleship.
The inner battle you are referring to, I can relate. and it interferes with progress. So I asked Heavenly Father to delete everything I knew so I could learn as a child, and it worked wonderfully for me. The Holy Ghost will help you still that battle. You are not alone.
Don’t worry about the dating. All dating apps are ‘interesting’ even Mutual! Thanks for your testimony. Even those of us that are lifelong members can learn from you!
I love you analogies and "real-ness". I'm so glad you don't edit out sharing your thoughts on stakes and stake dinners and feeling that it is lame. I personally find it so refreshing and freeing to see people being real!
I love your mind bro. You can tell you think very deeply! Deep thinkers about life takes you to the truth. Especially if you are open to Christs love. His love and what he would do sort of guides the heart.
Keep up with your UA-cam videos Dave. You remind me so much of myself, when I found the fullness of the Gospel 50 years ago. I’m now 70. I am planning on staying with the faith to the end. It’s great to see your story. Remain strong. The devil will try to vilify you. But, you will never be alone.
Dear Brother Boice, I have been overjoyed to hear of your decision to be baptised into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints! Congratulations! To be ordained to the Aaronic Priesthood is such an honor and blessing! I am so happy for you!
Hey Brother, like the Lords church is continuing to be restored, my testimony is still also strengthening. Enjoy the feeling, the joy & the Holy Ghost prompting that will come.
I have news for you. It's not just adult conversion that's a constant learning process. As a lifelong member who is nearly a senior citizen, it is still a constant learning process. That's one of the beauties of the gospel. The Lord keeps teaching us through the Holy Ghost until we will know all He knows. Better buckle up!
You helped answer my prayers today, thanks! I'm a primary president, and there are several children in my primary who want to get baptized, but are too afraid of water to do so. I have lots of plans to help them, and I expect that it'll be a slow process. I have recently been praying for guidance with our upcoming 5th Sunday primary lesson about covenants. When you talked about Peter's journey walking on water being like the covenant path, I was hit by the spirit that this needs to be part of my lesson to these children. Your analogy is such a profound and powerful image that I had never thought of before. Thank you for your amazing insight!
I am a convert to and my grandfather and his brother were actually preachers so I know the Bible, but I didn’t realize that in the Bible it does meet mention about the stakes of Zion and I thought the same thing I thought we were going to enjoy a steak dinner. Funny memories!. Isaiah 54:2 mentions the “stakes” of Zion. But again when you read it, you could just think of it as a tent with the Stake and cords, but if you understand what that tabernacle represents and what the chords and the stakes and you can cross reference and pray about that, you’ll know that they are actually talking about, how he gathers the stakes of Zion and he does this to keep them in a place of refuge or safety like family units. It’s a great support system.
Add a patriarchal blessing to your list of extraordinary gifts to look forward to. In my mid seventies, I’m still learning from my own patriarchal blessing received at 18. Knowledge of divine things just keeps expanding. You have blessed so many lives with your own discoveries and efforts to follow the Savior.
This is such a great discussion on how to be a great person in general. Get your heart in the right place, have an open mind and show love to others. What a great sermon!
David, thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience. You are quite an inspiration to me. I love how you are explaining what we as members of the church have always felt but have taken for granted. Good luck on your journey. We are all rooting for you.
Your humility has and will continue to bless you and those around you. Thank you for sharing your experiences. I have enjoyed watching your genuine desire to learn and draw closer to Jesus Christ because it is inspiring and strengthens my testimony as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have also had many great experiences as a member and feel that I am becoming a better person and drawing closer to God.
You inspire me with every addition to your channel. I love hearing your conversion process and feeling your sincerity. You remind me of a man that Alma wished those of whom he taught would be-Alma 13:27-29. What a great example you are to me, who was born as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ. I have experienced conversion in many ways and will continue that progress AND I’m 69 years old! I love your testimony, your courage, your submissiveness, your faith in our Savior and your humility. When you are ready to search for your ancestors, I would love to help!
As our leaders have reminded us, time and time again, conversion is a life long pursuit. This life is a time of testing, a time of learning, a time of discovery as to our relationship with God and Jesus Christ, and our purpose for being. As a convert myself learning about God and Jesus Christ and my relationship with them, and to them, has made all the difference in what would have been my otherwise doomed life. I honestly do not want to think of where I would be today without the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. It's too scary to even think about. You are fine, David. We are here for you, to help you, to talk with you, to support you. Even from across the pond. Kind regards, Gina Mac of Queensland, Australia. 😊❤️🙏🇦🇺
Love your videos. Your experience as a covert. Your faith and testimony of Jesus Christ. Please keep them coming with a unique perspective on something a lot of us take for granted as life long members not having the same experiences
David, I am member of the LDS church ⛪️ for the space of 32 years. I always wait for your video, even I was missing the next one, last night I watched this video. Which I have considered it is a good and strong. The church is a place of continuous growing. The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Days Saints is the kingdom of God on earth. Here the learning process is infinite. I hope you as Peter keeping walking on the water step by step watching the Savior Jesus Christ, as well you exemplify the boats 🛥️ in the water. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Your outlook is very wide. Your insight broad over all.❤ God bless you in path.
I’m so glad to hear you are taking the gospel principles class. That class has about a year’s worth of lessons and will make a huge difference in building your knowledge and growing your testimony. We also drive over 3 hours to attend the temple. Previously it was over 5 when I first joined the church. Temple work is hard work and a sacrifice but it’s also a labor of love. Living further away means we make it more of a priority. We’ve had many people from our west move into our branch and say I wish I attended more when it was closer. They had a temple 20 minutes away or less and didn’t attend as often as people in our branch. Another thing that’s worth mentioning is that very likely in WI you’ll have more opportunities to serve in callings and in leadership positions than in a more LDS populated area like our west. A friend from UT that was in our branch said it’s real easy to be a member in UT because so many people are. Not as many things are asked of people where there are more members. She said living in my area and in a branch in a less LDS area gave her the opportunity to grow her testimony in ways she didn’t have the opportunity in UT. She spoke in sacrament meeting at least a couple times a year, had many different callings and leadership positions. In UT she said it be perhaps 2 or more years in between sacrament talks and she never had any of the callings she had here. She mentioned that one really has a great opportunity to develop a strong testimony when living in a less LDS populated area. Based on knowing her and meeting other transplants into our branch I’d rather be a member where there’s more opportunities for service and growth. Sounds like you are on your way on the covenant path. For a little extra Conference talk encouragement for study I’d recommend the podcast Words of the Prophets. They review 2 talks weekly from the most recent general conference. As you read a talk you can follow up with the podcast and it will help you gain knowledge. I highly recommend the podcast. I always gain a perspective or insight I may have otherwise missed! I’m so delighted that you’re checking back with us your fans. This episode had me reflecting on nearly 29 years ago next month when I joined the church. Best thing I ever did
I have been thrilled with your sincere posts about accepting "the restoration." Hope to shake your hand in person one day and say "welcome to the kingdom!"
Man. I didn't know I needed to hear this! Praying for you and your journey brother! I hope your testimony grows and swells and becomes rock solid! I have been going through a long trial of faith but learning to love the church again. Almost a child like reminiscent time in being a part of the church for me. I feel that as church members and fellow believers in Christ all around the world of different faiths we need to stand united and uplifting towards one another and not tear down and demean eachother or tear down others faith experiences. A step towards Christ is a win in the battle of good and evil and deserves recognition and validation.
I really liked your interpretation of the Covenant Path. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is an everyday life long process. We never stop growing, learning and doing our best to draw closer to Christ.
I really appreciate the spirit that you bring to me on a Tuesday afternoon as you talk about your experiences with such a charitable, meek, and relatable attitude. Good example for all of us.
God has been giving me dreams for the past few years now💙 I was given one with you in it the night of June 8th, 2024. Much to my surprise, what you spoke about in this video was relevant to the dream I had. Thank you for allowing Heavenly Father to use you as a Teacher and a Vessel both in the Physical and the Spiritual=) I saw a decorative towel with Cardinals on it recently and couldn't help but smile knowing God gained another Believer on His Team!! Felicitations on your New Path of Restoration=) Here's to the next 52 Weeks of Learning, 52 Months of Growing and 52 Years of Giving🎉 P.S. Thank you to You and Everyone who chooses Sobriety🤗
Love this!! I grew up in northern Arizona. Our closest Temple was in Mesa, 3 hours away. When my parents went, they'd either get a hotel for all of us and have us babysit each other in the hotel while they went, or they'd get a babysitter at our house and spend the day. It was a big production getting to the Temple either way. Our youth groups would either caravan down there or rent a school bus and take the whole day, just to do baptisms for the dead. There is a Temple in Snowflake now, just an hour away from my hometown. It's such a blessing! I have good memories of Temple trips, but living closer to the Temple is such a blessing. I love that you guys are praying for that! We now live about 5 minutes away from the little Gila Valley Temple. It's been a huge blessing to us and our kids. I hope you get one close by!!
Thank you for sharing your experiences with us. I appreciated your thoughts on Peter and how you are also moving toward Jesus Christ. I am so grateful for my knowledge of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and my testimony. We are all on a journey through life and continuing to learn and grow together. Thanks for including us in your life.
I'm 19 and a lifelong member of the Church! One thing you mentioned is that baptism isn't the end goal. That's one of my favorite things about the gospel! you're always moving towards something and you have the ability to further dedicate yourself and put in effort, rather than be baptized and be done. Temple work is one of my favorite things to do because it's just one more step of dedication and a great way to serve others and connect with our Heavenly Father and Christ! Thank you for sharing your experience, it's truly testimony building to see your testimony build ❤️
Bro. Boice, I am so impressed with you and the growth and learning you are gaining through this awesome journey. I've been a member all my life and at 68 my growth and learning and understanding has increased so much, especially in the last few years. It so wonderful to watch you and listen to your experiences. You are in my prayers. Thank you for sharing your life with us. Sis. Bradshaw
I don’t think you need to worry about content for a talk! Your videos are amazing, and I love how you liken Peter walking on water, and boats there at the end, to your church community and family. You’ve shared some beautiful analogies in your videos that have helped me see the gospel through a different perspective. Thank you for your insights. You inspire many with your love of God and your faith in Him. Good luck to you, whether in Wisconsin or in the West!
That’s awesome! Yay congrats on getting the Aaronic priesthood! You will get the Melchizedek priesthood next. I will tell you that I have seen changes in you as I have watched your videos! There is a sparkle in your eyes, true joy in your face, the healthier glow to your face too because of your choice to abstain from alcohol, plus your confidence is strong too and you seem more at peace overall! It’s wonderful to witness! When I grew up in Michigan we had to drive 8 hours to the DC temple until they built Chicago n that was 5 hours away. They now have a Detroit Temple. In CA where we live we moved to be closer to the Sacramento temple. We are 30 min away instead of 90 min to either Oakland temple or Sac temple. About dating- I am quite sure you already have single women your age who are solid members who are interested in dating you when you’re ready. You will be blessed with a wonderful future spouse because you’re praying and trying to stay close to God. My daughter did meet her wonderful husband on the mutual app BUT there were several guys who weren’t solid members on there as well, so she had to sort through that. I pray for you to have someone who not only is a woman of God but someone who will love and adore you with genuine kindness. There ARE good ones out there. God will bless you and we all can’t wait to see it all unfold IF you choose to share that part of your life. SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!
I love your videos and have been following you ever since you first went to an LDS ward. I just wanted to let you know how moved I have been by your experiences and how much I learn from you. I loved your analogies today about Peter on the water and the Good Samaritan. We never stop learning. Be patient and do not walk or run faster than you have strength. Praying for you always!
I still can't get over the fact that there is a stake in Neenah, Wisconsin! I served part of my LDS mission in the Neenah/Menasha area in 1980. We went to church in phase one of the Appleton ward. There were few members of the church in Neenah and Menasha. I am thrilled to hear how the church has grown. Thank you for your great example and sincerity.
I know there is a lot to learn and come to understand, but all the answers are there. Have Grace with yourself and the speed at which you are able to come to understand all of this knowledge. The Temple will also feel overwhelming when that time comes but again, all the answers are there and in the end you will REALLY see how much God loves you and all of us. Your inner peace will come to be almost so strong that your words will fail you to describe it. God Bless
Holland and Hinckley are ROCK STARS the best places to start. Keep rocking it. I also suggest Neil A. Maxwell. He and his father were renowned scientists and I love how he able to blend science and the faith in his talks.
You have pointed out many things I have taken for granted as a member for 72 of my 80 years. I have enjoyed all of your videos and prayed for you often. I won't stop now.
Covered a lot in this video. What are some suggestions you'd have for a new member?
Enjoy the ride. Ignore the detractors. It's the best path. Never forget that.
"Deep" doctrine is interesting, but strive to master the big 3: Faith, Hope, and especially Charity.
ask about getting a Patriarchal Blessing, it's a personal blessing from Heavenly Father, just for you.
What a stud… we need to create a “David Boice” award for really cool and genuine converts :)
They're all really cool and genuine
😊
@WARDRADIO, 💯 %! David reminds me of Nathanael in the Book of John, whom Jesus Christ complimented for having no guile ❤

Thanks for sharing! I converted from being an evangelical in 2014. I went through things in 2020 and removed my name, but was rebaptized on April 20th, 2024. I’ve enjoyed watching your faith journey while I was having mine. It’s great to be back on the covenant path.
Wow, welcome back!!! ❤️
This makes me so happy!! I’m so glad you’re back! ❤
Welcome back!
Welcome back Matt! Everybody's journey is unique. I'm so glad you're back on that path. God is good.
Glad to have you back! Lets build the kingdom!
Virtual hugs from Houston.
❤
You are so very correct!
Well said!
@NinaHansen2008
Amen to everything you've said!
Conversion is a LIFELONG process. I have been a member almost 50 years and I'm sill being converted.
Further from the boat but closer to Christ. That is an amazing message by itself.
I loved the analogy myself.
Welcome to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I was so happy when you announced your conversion to the Church. I converted to the Church 3 years ago today, and my journey has been the happiest time of my life. I pray that you find joy and peace and blessings along your covenant path.
I’m happy for you! We are that we might have joy! 😃
Thank you!
Conversion stories like this are so amazing to me. What a sacrifice! Glad you became a member and are in Christs true fold. 💕
I LOVE the analogy of moving from the boat towards Christ ❤
I am a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, have lived my entire life in the Salt Lake Valley, and just celebrated my 72nd Birthday. I am being converted EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
Marvelous! Thanks for sharing! 😊

You're doing great, David. So enjoyable! Appreciate your faith and sincerity.
It's not just a religion it's a way of life.
Yes because it’s a cult
Then in 1985 we got the first temple in our country.
and more will come!!!
Your videos bring happiness to this 79-year-old great grandmother. I admire your positivity and sincerity. I am proud, despite our age differences, to call you my brother.
Tying Simon Peter's name change to his steps on the water with Christ, and the fact that The Rock could walk on water through Jesus Christ 🤯🤯🤯
I had never made that connection.

Welcome to the Truman Show. ;-)
@luanawells3944
👍 To new member vocabulary! It's awesome!
Thanks for being kind
The restoration is ongoing! We are blessed to have a prophet leading us as it unfolds. Great video!
When did it change from the restored Church to the restoring Church?
@@alienwarex51i3 Read the articles of faith. "all that god will reveal"
@@alienwarex51i3 The restoration includes ongoing revelation.
@@josephine79 what real revelation has the church received?
I think that's what having a modern day prophet is all about, but also recent conference talks have also reaffirmed this more recently saying the restoration was not a single event but an ongoing process. Yes, the buck may stop with what the prophets have established but new light, knowledge, insight, should continue to flow as a church body through leadership but also as individual saints in our own lives and stewardships.
David, here is where the reference to a stake comes from. Isaiah 54:2
“Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes;”
I’ve been watching you for a long time and have always appreciated your genuine approach and honest open appreciation for everyone who loves the Savior.
There is a wonderful girl who has prepared herself for you and will suddenly appear when you are ready
Me?! Haha.
You make it sound like magic!😮
"Magic' is only the world trying to copy a portion of what God can already do. Only thing is God has his own timing.
Brother, I love when you say "praising Jesus Christ", and than as well "praising Heavenly Father"
Beautiful♥️
In the LDS Church we always keep learning. Like life, lesson never end.
“The Book of Mormon had that foundation for me to step on”. I couldn’t love that statement more. It is precise and true.
What a ride
Sounds like you had a difficult experience. But I'm glad you found the LDS church. Good to have you on board, brother!
Hello David,
Thanks for another excellent and uplifting message.
I love that arrangement of the hymn “Let Us All Press On,” and your stake choir did a fantastic job with it.
Patriarchal Blessing ❤

When I was 14 years old there were 14 temples worldwide.
Best regards,

Watching your videos is a huge reminder to me of how much I love this church and the Gospel of Jesus Christ 💕
14:27 temple marriage, then children and then you baptizing them and watching them go through the steps you are taking. Fullness of joy!
My favorite food also!
😆STEAK!!!😋😋💞
💯
It is wonderful to hear such open discussion about your conversion. Thank you, as always, for your openness and willingness to share.
Thank you, I like listening to your LDS journey ❤ and the way you say things, especially when you testify about Christ 😊
Thanks Brenda, much appreciated :)
One of my favorite testimonies of Jesus Christ is Elder Bruce R. McConkie final testimony of Jesus Christ
You have such a gift for understanding symbolism! Thank you so much for sharing your experience, your stories, and your testimony!❤
It is so refreshing to listen to new converts and reflect on our own conversion and seeing it through fresh eyes. Thank you.
She said living in my area and in a branch in a less LDS area
gave her the opportunity to grow her testimony in ways she didn’t have the opportunity in UT.
Felicitations on your New Path of Restoration=) Here's to the next 52 Weeks of Learning, 52 Months of Growing and 52 Years of Giving🎉
Sis. Bradshaw
Welcome to the family. We love you and are excited about your covenant path!
My fav part of Stake Conference is when we as a congregation sing the hymns. My ward is in the smaller side
Spotted this 52 minutes after you posted 😱
It’s still technically the Appleton stake, but there are now 2 Appleton wards, a Neenah ward, Spanish branch, and YSA branch.
One of my favorite videos you’ve done! You’ve done a great job putting things together! Way to go!
You have pointed out many things I have taken for granted as a member for 72 of my 80 years. I have enjoyed all of your videos and prayed for you often. I won't stop now.
