#skateboarding #beginnerskateboarder #howtoshuviteasy
Absolute beginner here. I just started skateboarding last month in my 30s. Today I tried your shuvit tips and I was able to do it! Thank you so much!
This trick changed my high school experience I felt like I was the first to teach my friend Kevin in a game of skate because this trick leads to other tricks like Fakie Bigspin which was how I ended up winning the game good times
This was like the first trick I learned no cap my third day. Thank you!
Good stuff! I can only ever seem to land them consistently fakie but you helped clear up some of the thought process in going regular
fakie has that added help with the momentum. if you struggle with normal just practice fakie loads and loads and it will help
He’s saying do this ⬇️ with ur back foot but to me it’s easier to do this ↙️ or this ↩️, literally spinning the tail forwards
Thanks dude, finally it worked😍🥰😍🥰!!! My shuvit got much better with the location of right foot and the angle to swipe🤩🤩🤩!!! I have watched 100s of other tutorials for shuvit for last 3+ years, but really struggled,, was very unstable,,, I really want to share your video in my channel😃😃 Cheers!!!🍻🍻🍻
I rolled my ankle on this trick like three days ago and tried again with some of your advice. I find it easier to do very basic lazy ones with the shuv motion as the focus than just the scoop motion. But the scooping motion is important for my popped ones to work. I learned by scraping the tail a bit many years ago and remembered to do them like that. But pop shuv its are easy to learn. But I rolled my ankle again as soon as I got comfortable and was doing my last one yesterday. This is an easy trick, and easy to get an injury on. But what helped me most was when you said to do higher ones. I hope I don’t forget how to do my pop shove it. To get it taller I hovered my front foot a bit higher (to keep it from flipping) and shoved a bit later, allowing myself to do a fake pop kinda scooping motion first to get the front of the board to start coming up for the front foot motions. Really nice high shuv it with a bit of a scooping sound that happens as if I’d popped it. When I pop a pop shove it, I almost keep my foot on the tail pressured as I turn and pop for a bit of a scrape or something. That’s how I learned em. I hate that if you do a weak one while not going fakie or nollie, it can wrap backwards around that back foot axis and you can just roll your front ankle. I had to self massage my cuboid back into place twice!
I feel like I need to practice this as if it was the only trick I know lol
In fact I was in the driveway outside yesterday, and I kept saying it out loud and shrugging.
But this is the only trick I know!
It messed with my pop shove too, practicing these. Need to finally just get it once and for all.
Broke my foot September 2023 trying to land it and still haven't...
Landed my first popshuvit, shuvit, and fakie popshuvit after this. For some reason i learned to kick my back foot at an angle instead of straight back. After kicking straight back it came a lot easier. Now I can fakie popshuvit and half cab so maybe i can big spin 👀
hell yes bro thats awesome! nice job
@@DanWebz Just got the first fakie big spins a couple days ago lol
Been skating for a fair while now but I never really had the patience to really try and learn tricks but I've been getting back into it a bit more and I'm soooo close to landing a shuv but there was just a couple things I was doing wrong or could have been doing better and this has helped me significantly. I'll let y'all know when I land it
hii could u do it?its been two weeks,im just curious
@@hitori489 one of my bearings gave up and I haven't got the money for some new ones just yet
@@VOID_WALKER1407 ohh i see, well good luck on whatever you re gonna do next
@@hitori489 I did just get my new grip tape on my new deck aswell as my trucks but my T tool broke half way through so I can't tighten the bolts so I'm getting a new t tool and some bearing so I'll have that sorted hopefully by the end of the week.
@@VOID_WALKER1407 how about now???
This video helped me land my first shuv-it, thanks so much
tysm I'm gonna have to try out some of these tips! I just started learning to skate a couple weeks ago and I've been trying to learn the shuv it and my hardest obstacle has been mentally pushing back with one foot and going forward with the other (both of my feet want to go forward) but I'm def gonna try doing it w/o trucks on the carpet thanks for the tip 🔥
awesome, another thing that helped me, was to just push the tail at the spot Dan showed, but with one foot and catch it with the same foot , preferably your back foot at first, then when you get get a feel for the right foot placement and the right pressure at the correct angle, then proceed to the steps Dan mentioned.
it really helped me to get the right timing and confidence to commit to the landing. I also do this with either foot just for fun while I'm resting or waiting during a session. also by adding a little force to the tail, it can also help you learn pop shove it's both regular and fakie.
Hope you got them by now, if not, don't give up.
Keep rolling brother!
🛹👍😎👍🛹
Great video per usual, The back foot tip helped a lot for my consistency!
Thanks mate! glad you liked it
i just started, had about 4 hours on the board till now. but i love it that beyond the board is written "LUCK" 🤣🤣
Super useful!!! Thanks man!!
i got you mate
thanks I was working on this for months and finally got it
Bro I js wanna say thank you so much for this cause I finally landed one after like an hour of trying
As lame as it sounds you should learn tricks in the order that Aaron kyro used to teach like 8 years ago
That's what im talkin bout. Poppin your board is risky bizness. You can do them on banks to fakie or from fakie. Try slide shuv to nose shuv rewind.
Couldnt at all for like 6hours of actual practicing until bro said « take a step forward »
Thanks man, I can never seem to do this and make it look like I'm not trying my hardest. Now it just looks like I am going with the flow if you know what I mean.
Great breakdown, gonna practice this on the weekends!
You learn it yet?
@@shaquilleoatmeal2199 been busy as hell, sadly been lacking the time =-=;
thanks bro i practiced for like 1hour then mastered it all in all good tutorial
In one hour ? Thats insane im doing this all summer landed it one time and never thereafter. But im old that sucks
Thank you for this Shuvit tutorial!
no worriesa brother
tysm for making this!! i’ve been trying to learn to shuv it so this really helped!! 😁😁❤️
have you landed a shuvit?
@@realvenilin509 not yet 😔 next time i go skate imma try his tricks
no problem mate! happy to help
Great shuvit tutorial man... One question: i have shuvits and popshuvits in my bag, but I still land them with my feet in a narrow position on the board, this sometimes let the board slip under them, making me fall. How can I "force" my legs to stay wider while jumping? Thanks to all who'll reply
Learn to catch with your front door first
This is a great lesson
Awesome video dude
Do a vid on the best skateparks in England
Sick and to the point!
Ive been trying to shuvit for 3 days straight. I can make it do the shuvit every time but i just cant land it
Bro, it keeps flying away. Help
Too much strength in the back foot
Can confirm I did this and my board flew to China and has not been returned.
My board is always too much on the left, I’m only able to land on the right side of the board and then I crash! 🤕
I’m your 1000th like!
yo thx, this is fun
damn i didnt know u needed so little power ive been kicking the back leg wayy too hard thank u i will try this ^^
Did it work?
Did anyone else learn shuv its before Ollie?
Awesome. I'll try that tomorrow 😂
let us know how it goes mate
@@DanWebz Sure! Thanks, Dan!
I thought something was wrong when I found it easier going backwards. It's actually easier. I'm having a hard time doing this on rough cement. I feel like my wheels stick to much to crusty spot.
hope I can do it today... God bless me
I get scared with putting my back foot back down on the board thinking I'll slip out.
COMMIT!
@@DanWebz 🙏
Bearing in mind that a 68 year old woman with terminal cancer, who’d never previously stepped on a skateboard, learnt to shuvit in a few weeks, I’m not sure there’s really a need for a tutorial.
RIP Elaine.
the board keep flying away from my feet and i dont have enough time to put on my front foot
Im so scared to do shuvit, my board always moves and i can't never land it
These no-pop tricks are frowned upon at my place, cuz you're not doin it properly... Learning to do proper pop in POP shovit kinda hard.
I try doing them but i can't get the scoop consistent it's either to hard or not hard enough
i keep trying this but accidentally landing in fakie pogo. how many bearings do i need for this slick trick? how are you keeping the board from shooting up in the air?
Don’t do anything with your front foot. As lame as it sounds you should learn tricks in the order that Aaron kyro used to teach like 8 years ago
Where did you get your deck?!
Like this coment for no reason
i disliked it bud
same
Sure
Bet
I liked, but sorry...
I got my reasons!
When I try too do a shuvit/pop shuvit it hurts the side of my knee idk why does anyone else have that problem????
no!! Did you got hurt recently?
Sounds like you have bad knees, unless ur talking about the board hitting your shin
Yoga
like the comment so i get reminded but yeah heres my shuvit process
Day 1:
YOOO
This is a pop shove it. A shove it is when your rear wheels come off the ground first. Been skating since 1984, I know what I'm talking about.
Then you've been wrong for 40 years. The only difference is whether or not the tail "pops" off the ground.
What you’re talking about is a nollie shuvit
To pop shuvit the board needs to pop
so wheres the pop then mr "skating since 84"?
Tighten your bolts lol. All that rattling is a shit board
