I’m very on and off with painting my nails. I’ll do it every week for a few months, then not at all for months. Since quarantine, it’s been a part of my Sunday afternoon routine. My hands-down FAVORITE color is an orange red from OPI called A Red-vival City. I’ve used it so much this summer especially and haven’t gotten tired of it one bit.
I'm so happy you made this video! I was looking for the Almond Tan shade after seeing you wear it in your video. I couldn't find it because I didn't realize it was part of their vegan line. Lately, I've been exploring using glitter with negative space on my nails also, inspired by you! My favorite blue nail polish is Find Me an Oasis. It's very pale, almost white. I also love Petal Pushers which is more of a slate blue. I definitely buy more Essie polishes since they changed their brush shape. Now I need to resist painting my nails until later tonight, too many items on my to do list.
Love that Essie couture top coat. No polish lasted on me without chipping until that top coat. Before that I loved the HK Girl one but there's no comparison for me. Now I only remove my polish because it's grown out.
Love love love that Seche Vive. I also really like the Hk Girl but I end up using the Seche Vive because it's so easy to get my hands on. Now you've got me wanting to place an order!
I love wearing mauves, lilac, peachy, sparkly iridescent, holo finishes. I am also into browny neutrals, and I do enjoy a red nail from time to time. I love a dark witchy purple and recently really enjoyed black! The one color I can’t stand on my nails is blue and green, which sucks bc I do love those colors by themselves!
I have one of the L’Oréal nail paints, and while the colour and quality is outstanding the scent drives me nuts! It lasts for like 4 days! If anyone had a sensitive nose, I would avoid it. The essie ones are amazing! They are true love ❤️ thank you for this video Samatha. It’s rare to find someone who makes a video for nudes for us brown skin gals. You are the best 😘
I tried the Kiss ImPress nails for the first time two weeks ago and I loved it so much. I got a full week of them before some were getting loose and I took them all off WITHOUT ruining my real nails! I should start investing on getting Essie nail polish but I SUCK at painting my nails so I usually just wear them bare. If I was a better painter, I’d be painting my nails all the time haha!
I’m wearing Impress nails right now, lol. I really like the versatility. Another brand I like is Dashing Diva, they have a website or you can buy them from Sally Beauty. Not sure if you have Sally in Canada. Another thing I have started using is the nail polish strips. They are a little tricky at first, but once you get the hang of applying them they are so cool. No drying time and they last about 2 weeks. Tfs, it’s a nice change from makeup.
As far as the indie brand world of nail polish I really recommend it to others. They make some pretty amazing polishes, topcoats and bases with much better ingredients then main stream brands. I would check out cuticula, ethereal, beesknees and brands like that. They have inspired me to start my own brand, Daveen lacquer (I am still in the process of getting everything together before my first release) but once I found the indie brands I fell in love. Cuticula makes a quick dry topcoat (the limitless one is my favorite) and the ingredients alone make it worth it to me. Plus it's good to support small businesses.
I know how much you love green eye shadow palettes, so I wanted to share my favorite green polish shade: Pacifica Dragon Scale. It looks way more olivey on their website, but in person it’s just such a pretty color imho. 💚
Thanks for the tips! I also love nail polish. I gave up on the salon ages ago because I can’t really afford it and I never feel like they’re perfect either. I’m probably a shade darker than you and I love the neutral beiges all year. In the summer I wear some corals and almost magenta colors. I pretty much love have a favorite shade of every color in the rainbow lol.
I don't wear reds either. I have tried and the closest I can get is a very coral-red. I don't really wear pinks... I did eventually find a pink that I love from OPI and it is called... Hawaiian orchid maybe? I love mauves and golds. I feel like they look most neutral with my skintone and make my hands look pretty though I have chubby little digits. I explored drug store brands a lot when I was merchandising manager for cosmetics with WBA (Walgreens & Boots). The Coty (Sally Hansen) team was my favorite. I managed the launch of the Essie gel couture and that was fun too. Then I went through a Kiss nails phase because it is so convenient to toss on a set of nails and look put together... especially if I had to go see my mother! Now... I like doing my own gel manicures at home. I stick to the same kinds of colors and bought a decent lamp on Amazon. I love the le mini macaron sets though! Rum raisin? Gorgeous! So... I have a lot of nail stuff which brings me to storage! Above all I love my three tier rolling cart! They are available everywhere, but mine is from Michael's because I liked the color best. I got one for my son for his room in gray (IKEA). I suggested the cart to a friend and she bought two! It is just so handy and tidy for my nail polishes, tools and treatments! Highly recommend!
Thank you for posting this, since going to the nail salon has to wait for me, I was looking for good for a do it at home options and you just delivered it for me. I went to the grocery store the other day and I couldn’t find the nude you were talking about but I’ll get it from your link. Thank you for this helpful video! Hey Sam, the link for the Almond Tan nail polish you posted shows the miracle line not the pure line. I found the right one on the right corner of the page. 😀
I have almost your exact skin tone and I’m running for the Sally Hansen almond tan! ❤️ I love nothing better than a good nude polish! Sally Hansen Bare it All & Essie Topless and Barefoot were my fave nudes!
Im the same as you with the reds, BUT i tried a bright cheery fun aummer rrd, and paired wirh gokd jewelrh, it gives you fun happy vi es...you would look so pretty with a strawberry brighter red since you have short naila
I used to have nice nails that grew but now have nails that peel. I use various hardners but no luck. Think I need moisture, like hand lotion and oils. Thanks for the video.
Idk if they changed the colour slightly but I picked up Bikini So Teeny quite recently after seeing so many people wear it online. Mine looks way darker in person which is sad because if it was lighter I think it would stand out nicer against my skin tone. Still a pretty shade.
If anyone else has the same issue, I’ve bought the shade Ozone You Didn’t in the Sally Hansen Gel line and it’s the light periwinkle I’ve been looking for
Can you do a video on how the Sally Hansen almond tan looks on your nails I have a problem with my polish streaking and looking not smooth I now wear just wear clear polish do you have any suggestions as to how I can make my polish more smooth when painting maybe I should get a heated nail. Light to help with drying process any thing that will help I willing to try thank you
If you check back on some of my older videos a few months back or IG I have tons of pics! I probably wouldn’t do a video about showing that on my nails because I’m back to shellac for the time being
Ohhhhhh, nail polish video! More please!
yay thanks!!!
Nails Inc! I wrote this like 500 word comment and forgot to mention that I love nails inc. 🥰

Oh yay so glad it’s helpful :)
Don't do my nails but taking a break from the Sephora sale. Happy Sunday Sam!

So glad you love them too!!
That CND Rescue is awesome! It cured my peeling nails. And it smells good!

This is so timely! I'm about to give myself a manicure because I have to shoot a video for work tomorrow. 💅

I got introduced to Glisten &Glow by coffee break w/ Dani. She raves about this top coat and I see why.
It’s been a long time since I took care of my nails (using nail polish). I was thinking of trying kiss nails

Bring back monthly makeup basket!!
Thank u for your show what is the number of the light brown polish I am tan like you
You look so pretty.
I buy a pack of 600 fake nails and love decorating them with gems and sparkles.
I don't think there's a color I haven't put on.

I never use base coat 🤷🏻♀️
Do your nails ever end up getting stained?
@@VictoriaNakaraKizer sometimes, depending on the color but generally, no.
U should try Kathleen lights brand lights lacquer she makes really nice colors and she recently launched a bunch of nice nudes!
