Amanda Bellantoni I’ve had the seche too and it’s good but gloopy. I’ve bought 3 Essie different times different state too and still got glupy half way. Instead of throwing it away or buy a new one I got nail polish thinner also for my regular polish
@@Alokiarpiro Lol girl, for me it’s EXACTLY the same, like on the toe nails it would stay there forever if I didn’t take it off, no chipping. On my finger nails it falls off in one piece the next day.. What I found helps me on the finger nails is putting on the colored nail polish when the base coat hasn‘t dried fully or is still a little wet, 20 seconds later or so and then putting the top coat on when it’s dried a bit but only where the color is, not on the borders where no color is. Then it stays on quite nicely for a few days, like the polishes form more of a bond? Hope that helps you a little 💕 I’m trying my hardest to make it work on my finger nails since the colors are so pretty, haha!
Warning Seche Vite has ingredients that aren't good for women who are planning to have kids, ever. Only reason I know this is that I happened to purchase one that came in the box once, it didn't bother me bc I'm 49 and have a 25yr old but I'm watching out for you young ladies.
Thanks to your review I bought the inm top coat really good top coat super shiny dries fast their were mixed reviews on amazon but your review convinced me to buy it little bit expensive on amazon with delivery out of the USA
On Amazon I can get a Seche Vite in a 2 pack for $10 or a 3 pack for $13. Might want to look into that it's cheaper than one bottle of Seche Vite for $10.
@@emmabumann3531 I heard nail aid is good. Have yet to use it. I'm better off using no top coat than using Seche Vite. It peels horribly. Like in big chunks
What is your lip color?? It's beautiful! I use Seche Vite, and yes it does have it's own thinner. I read it has something to do with the "different" formula of the top coat. Several years ago, I bought a 4 ounce refill bottle of Seche Vite, and will most likely never use it all. I've started doing gel polish on my fingers, but still do regular polish on my toes. I found the gel on my toes was WAAAY to hard to remove!
I love Sally Hansen Gel Fortifier. I use it as both a base and top coat. It dries fast. I’m going to try the Essie as a top coat with the SH as a base coat and see what results I get.
I agree with all three of your recommendations, I love them too. Another top coat that I really like is Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Anti-Chip in the red bottle. You should try that one if you haven't, since I recall you mentioning how much you love Sally Hansen polishes.
how's the shine compared with seche vite? i've heard about it and i might test it out, i currently mix my gel setter with thinner and another bottle of half goopy polish to restore it, its my holy grail, but id prefer not to use thinner
Think this is a must try I can't use UV gels as I break out with allergy's so think this would be a great choice for me I will buy these today give them a try xxx
Face value / Harmons... has the out the door for $4.99 and I always you a 20% off coupon.. essie has a new line of polish called quick dry and the packaging is different with more polish for you dollar 👌🏽buns up is my favorite shade what a perfect nude
Fabulous video! I've been doing my own nails since COVID, and they look amazing...of course after they grew out! Seche Vite is what I've been using, but agree, it gets goopy fast, so I'm going to pick up the other 2 you recommend. Thanks for sharing this awesome info!
Oh, will definitely try the INM since I've never heard of it before. And have used Essie products before but not that particular top coat so will try that one, too. Thanks! ❤
I agree Danai . Only bought it once in my life but is one that I love. Don’t know why I didn’t get it again. Will have to revisit. Maybe because I have so many different top coats Essie. Seche vite, Revlon , Sally Hansen, Cuccio, onyx, orly , out the door, zoya etc ( I also like the 3 she mentions on this video)
After watching your video I decided to go with the essie gel setter but when I searched it on amazon the essie gel Couture came up as well and was wondering if you've had any experience with the gel couture ? Should I stick with the gel setter or give the gel couture a try?
I LOVE the gel couture diamond top coat! Amy Lynn Buttchin (that’s not her name anymore, but I forget her new name) she takes that one to the salon EVERY time she gets her nails done. It dries quickly AND it has that large, curved brush that is glorious to use.
Thank you for making this video. I have been curious about the Seche Vite but after you said it has a strong odor, I am going to go with the Essie Gel Setter.
Glad you enjoyed! The Seche definitely has a bit of an odor, the Essie is amazing and the INM is an awesome staple for the collection as well :) Enjoy! XOXO
Hey Amanda, have you found that the OPI Infinite Shine topcoat (black bottle) increases the wear time of Infinite Shine polishes, or is the wear time equivalent to pairing with the Seche Vite/Essie topcoats? (I just saw your OPI Special Occasions mani video from a while back and am curious as to how the OPI topcoat compares.)
I used OTD for yrs and I loved it! However, for the last couple of yrs, it has been a problem! It shrinks on my nails when it dries and it dries and turns goopy in the bottle! I never use to have this happen!
I use out the door top coat and every time I apply it it drags my polish of every single time I use it and I’m so careful I let a drop of top coat start to drip and then apply lightly and bam 💥 my polish is coming off I quit using top coat
I really love your videos. You inspire me to do my nails. Recently I've been going to the salon for gel, but I have so many nice colors at home too. I really want to ask you, for your gel system at home, do you use a UV light system, or no light? Do you mind sharing your brand of gel you use? Thank you so much!!
Does INM have any bad ingredients in it? I'm using Superchic's Liquid Macro top coat but I want to move away from top coats with toluene in them, but I need one that still dries super fast!
@@ChristFirstHomemaking Thank you :) However, I wouldn't call it staining, when I havent even touched anything yet. Its more like a chemical color change. I'm so puzzled. lol
Ive tried to many top coats it’s ridiculous lol •inm-on my nails it never dried my polish. Overnight I still got sheet marks considering I painted my nails 2 hours before bed. The consistency of out the door is nice though. •SH instadry -left so many bubbles on my nails. •china glaze fast foward -it was so glossy but it shrank like crazy and it makes my nail polish peel the next day. •essie gel couture (twisted bottle) -didn’t like it because my nails never got dry. •Essie good to go dries quickly and has no bubbles and minimal shrinking but it’s not super shiny. •SH Diamond Flash- also left bubbles on my nails I just purchased poshe top coat from Sally’s and so far it’s my favorite. Dries in 5 minutes, shiny, no shrinkage, no bubbles. Haven’t tried seche vite because it’s not 3 free. I do wanna try the gel setter you mentioned though. And also want to try opi’s rapid dry.
ooh, good to go is my second go to, but i definitely have it in my notes that its only about 90% (pseudo statistic 😅) shiny. Essie gel setter is plumper and very glossy
I stopped buying drug store top coats, they don’t compare to indie brands ive tried. My favorites are cuticula nail care top coat, superchic lacquer marvel liquid macro top coat and glisten and glow top coat.
Essie Gel Couture top coat lasts longer for me than Gel Setter. I highly recommend it. I have soft, flexible nails that cause most other top coats to chip. The top cot has prolonged my manicures of colors from many other brands too!
I had heard such good things for a decade about seche but it smelled so horrid and it doesn't work any better than cheap stuff on me so it's a pass. I should have returned it
Genuinely confused a nail tech once lmao she thought I had gel on but it was the essie top coat
Essie gel top coat is AMAZINGG! I always get compliments when I wear but it gets so gulpy so fast!
It's soooo good!! Mine don't go gloopy on me as quickly as seche, but also don't last as long as INM. I find it to be a happy medium haha

That’s awesome! 😁 So glad it worked well for you - it’s a staple to keep on hand! Doesn’t usually get gloopy either 🙌🏻
Picked up the INM Out The Door top coat earlier, impressed with it.
I love the seche vite fast dry top coat
It's a classic - such a beautiful finish!
I use Essie nail polish I’m going to start using it without the speed setter top coat, cuz no fail it shrinks my nail polish.

I feel like Seche Vite makes my polish chip super fast. I might have to try another topcoat
