    Seche Vite MUST be put on damp nails or it wil pull away from the edges. Seche Vite chemically bonds with the damp nail polish. Thereby, creating one bonded layer that won’t split and roll away from nail edges. Seche Vive can be put on Dry nails. In fact that is one of the main reasons Seche Vive was invented so you can apply the top coat at various time throughout the week when you want to refresh the shine on your manicure or reapply a top coat to help you maintain your manicure. Some people are really tough on their manicures and they need that extra coat during the week to help the manicure to last longer.

      I’ve applied Seche Vite over wet polish and it still shrinks. Don’t know what that’s all about. 🤷‍♀️

    I adore both of these top coats, Seche Vite dries very fast on me, and Seche Vive dries even faster. If I'm going out and want my polish to look special I apply a coat of Seche Vite first, then a coat of Seche Vive on top. When I first started using Seche Vite I had shrinking from the tips but I was letting my nail polish fully dry before adding Top Coat. Now I apply Seche Vite before the polish has fully dried and wrap the tips and don't have the shrinkage problem any more.

      mycrazynan I found the the Seche Vive to dry much faster and actually rock hard... something that I never noticed with the Seche Vite. Seche Vite dries pretty fast but doesn't get hard and impression proof like Seche Vive as quickly.

      Do you let your nails dry before applying Seche Vive? I know you don't have to with the Seche Vite, but not sure about the Vive.

    totally agree with you about CND Vinylux, it's an excellent product, but does contain the chemicals that people are not liking so much these days, myself included. I did just get a manicure today & she used the Seche Vive Gel Effect top coat. I'm impressed! Nails dried pretty quickly to the touch and I am loving the high gloss shine. I have used the Seche Vite as well & it is good, but I think I am liking the Vive more - less smell.

    I do believe your review is the best, most thorough, and well done of any product review that I've ever seen. Great job, and thank you for your thoughts!

    This has been a super helpful review, thank you for taking the time to make it. I feel the same about vite, seems better than any 'gel' top coat but it peels after a day. I love how fast it dries. I didn't even know seche did a gel version so I'll be giving that a try next.

    I know what you mean about the shrinkage back from the edges, as that was also my experience with seche vite. Thank you for the review and best wishes.

    Hi Karen I've been using the Essie gel couture top coat , nice brush goes on with one stroke dries quickly about £9 in boots can use it with any polish seems to make my polish last longer . Haven't really checked how long. Used opi before but it goes thick too quickly.

    I don't like the seche vive in the blue bottle. I can't tell how much I have left!

    I notice as the product is drying, it balls up, it shrinks. It totally messes up the polish job

    Karen, do you have the Sally Hansen Insta Dri top coat in the red bottle? It is 5$ and my favorite! Doesn't smell too bad and works great

      I actually tried that one last year Linda, and honestly it took ages to dry on my nails! It was recommended by quite a few people, so I know its me thats the odd one out lol. Thanks for thinking of me :0) x

      Is there a difference between the one in the red bottle and the one in the clear bottle because they both say Sally Hansen Insta Dri top coat. I bought both just in case lol but still haven't tried either of them ☺️🤣🤣

    I commented earlier how much I enjoyed your review. I have a question that I hope you will be able to answer for me. I've used the Seche Vite, which can be applied to wet polish, and as you say it does tend to pull back and peel off. I purchased the Seche Vive, and the directions say to apply to dry polish. Have you tried the Seche Vive on wet polish? If so, how did that work for you?

    • @TheBeautyMaverick

      I haven't tried the Seche Vive on wet polish I"m afraid! Thanks so much for your kind words. Karen x

      It has been my favourite for a year or two now - to me its like Seche Vite but better because it doesn't smell as strong, dries faster, and is much cheaper! Now though, I like the Seche Vive because it doesn't do the shrinking thing that both Barry M and Seche Vite did. Hope that helps. xx

    Hi Karen, Can you please do a video on how to do the french manicure, your nails look beautiful & I always struggle to do my own french manicure. Love the paw prints how did you do that? : )

    • @TheBeautyMaverick
      @TheBeautyMaverick  7 років тому +2

      Thanks Anita - I love a french manicure but alas that one didn't last long - it was using the kiara sky dip system. I'm going to attempt it again and see how I get on in a few weeks when my nails have grown again. I plan on doing a review but the whole process is on the kiara sky website. I don't currently recommend it though! Paw prints are with stencils. x

    Hi Karen ~ Thanks for the ' Tip '. I have loved the Seche Vite inspite of the smell... Recently I used another one I had in my drawer >> OPI rapid dry top coat > bleeding of the patterns

    • @TheBeautyMaverick
      @TheBeautyMaverick  7 років тому

      I do occasionally have bleeding of the patterns, but really only when I haven't been patient enough for it (usually the stripes) to dry first. x
