I enjoyed listening to Uncle Ron and can see how children would enjoy the information he shares with them.
Yeah me too. Just a down to earth country boy. Good man
Awesome pair. RIP Ron. You did the Marines proud.
The guy that portrayed Ron wrestling with the deer also just died two months ago of a heart attack which caused him to wreck his vehicle.
when he picked up the stick thought he was gonna help and hit the deer.
nope he hands it to his uncle. Amazing!
Yes you would think that wouldn't you. Ha ha
...That was my exact thoughts!
I could listen to Ron's stories over beer all day with no problem. I know a guy now who's real cool and I have to realize what I have. Rest in peace sir.
At first, I thought the old guy was ‘a complete idiot’ even though he claimed he wasn’t.
The more he spoke, the more respect I gave him.
The old dude was sharp. He told a great story.
He kept dropping little nuggets of knowledge.
"Once an animal attacks someone, it must be put down". Now if we would only apply this wisdom to violent, dangerous humans.
Truly an awesome tail.
Aric so sorry for your loss of your uncle. I know the memories you have with him are golden. He seemed like a amazing uncle and outdoorsman.
Awesome story... sad he passed away...
The visuals with the deer head are literally hilarious
I love how this story supposedly takes place in 1993, and they were cruising around in about a 2002-2006 Ranger... spot on.
Recreation of the attack doesn't mean the car is required to be
Still an odd oversight
The actors fighting with the fake deer crack me up😂
i know right!
Who else is binging on I Shouldn't Be Alive, Fight to Survive or Wonder episodes?
Almost nobody I guess. Lol
Guilty
Me 👍
Thank you for sharing. As hunters we learned something new. 🦌🦌
Enjoyed the story of the crazy encounter. RIP Sir
Can you imagine Ron Smith visiting a city school and teaching children about the out of doors...it would be fantastic.
"There is no reason for a wild animal to walk up to a human being." True.
@T Wilson lol!! I'm the captain now
A lot of them do approach humans when they need help. Crazy but true.
@@sct3339 Or another case I that they have never been hunted
If they do, you should probably run because they have something wrong with them, rabies, going to attack you, etc.
I’m glad this experience made him want to keep being outdoors even though bad things can happen because most people would do just this opposite and hide in their houses good for him he is a brave man
“This was no Bambi” lol
Me misreading the title; Hunting Uncle? I didn't know there was a season for that sort of thing.😂
Good on Uncle Ron, he was an absolute wiseman.
.......... he took a weapon........ and placed it in his uncle's hands?
.... the same uncle using both hands to keep a buck from goring him? THAT uncle?
I know right?! Like, here ya go, imma just watch!
Yup, that uncle🤷♂️
yes, that's what I thought, and then I thought "so how heroically and wisely would I have acted faced with such a crisis? And the nephew saved his life in the end so no harm done
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 well spoken
My late father was a palm-wine tapper. I remembered vividly. I was 13yrs old, we usually go to the farm together on his bicycle. one faithful day in the morning when we arrived on the farm and we went checking his palm wines, as usual, then I was attacked by a Deer, the biggest deer I have ever seen. the thorn pierces through my left thigh. at some point, the deer wanted to escape but my dad chased it down and he killed the Deer with a cutlass. the skull and thorn of the Deer is still intact back home in memory of it.
Lt. Francis Ihiator 1947 - 2020
RIP Father.
❤💖
I just love how the nephew just sits there and watchs him die
Me too have this stick uncle hit it yourself whilst you are half dead. Haha
Jed clampet comes to mind
*uncle fighting for life* nephew passes him a branch, step back and watch 'em duke it out...
That's just it, The Blue Tostito nephew couldn't legally step in, the ole'uncle needed to tag his nephew. ...
He has so much confident in his uncle same thing I would do probably until such time I think I need to get involved
One on One...only fair...lol
John that what I thinking WTF why didn.t he jurist start hitting the buck with the stick.
He had to drink his 🍻 beer 😂
Why was the nephew not helping his uncle from the start? Unbelievable!
Some people fight, some people flight. He's nephew was a deer stuck in the headlights!
Didn't even warn him the deer was coming up behind him in the river.
That's what I was thinking too! When he said he handed his uncle the stick I thought why didn't he just go after the deer himself?!
his uncle has life insurence he gets rich if the deer killed his beloved uncle
Yeah never taking him into the woods again
Let me get this straight. He took a piece of stick and put it into his uncle's hand then stood back and watch instead of beating the deer off of his beloved uncle? Ok.
Lol🙄
Right wtf.lol
I would've jumped right in if that was my uncle. No question about it.
That makes no sense. I know.
😂😂😂 good luck bro
Right the hooves are sharp as hell . I know I had a deer attack me once ,by jump up onto my chest ,scraping its hooves on me and knocking me down . My family chased it off . It was a very weird situation , which I never understood.
haha the main character is so confident in his knowledge
Here uncle Ron I know you're busy but here's a dry rotted stick, you got this bud!
😅
😵
We don’t weigh catfish we just eat ‘em. Love it!
*That look when the fish and deer make a treaty to work together against a common oppressor.*
This is a miracle. All three parties dug in deep. Thank God Ron and Arik came through alive.
Literally didn't even know deer attacked. I thought they just ate grass and get hit by trucks
And get eaten by humans, lion, tiger, hyena, wolves and coyotes wild and tamed dogs etc etc!
Same!
Yes deer can attack people. It's happened quite a bit. They have killed people in the past.
Bruh 😂😂😂 that's why I'm here, I gotta see this!
Lol!!!
That stuffed deer head in the water though 😂😂
😹😹😹😹
😂 😂
Right!!! Bahahahahahaha 😂😂😂
They die in u laughing about the stuffed dear head😂🤣
Lol fricking hilarious
You don't know how much I appreciate the fact he said what he was fishing for and why 😂
im surprised they didnt edit out the old man ramblings
wow , Rest In Peace to a true legend
I bet the buck heard that man open the beer and thought it was a snort weaze...
Can we get more survival documentary please that are longer. I know its all based on true storys, but some of the storys are remarkable. I'm sure therr are more people out there who would love their storys to be told.
Rule one: always bring a weapon when going into the wild.
Mhmmm. I live in the bush on a mountain range up here in canada and anytime I head off into the woods outside of hunting season I have a short barrel shotgun (14" barrel with a pistol grip and fold over stock) slung across my chest. Nice light small package for walking around (since we can't carry pistols up here. We can em but the law only let's us take them out to the range) we have bears, wolves, coyotes, wolverines, bobcats, cougars, plenty of predators up in this area
What if he didn't carry his filet knife on his belt???? Think.....that's a pretty good weapon I'd say
And the award for best leading actor in a tv series gosssss tooooo........ BAMBIE!
WOW awesome story he got to live long fruitful life praying for his nephew and family friends wishing you all God Speed in this new year ❤🙏❤️
When I was 10, I saw a baby deer probably 50ft away, so I started calling it like you would a cat. Then mom showed up and was hell bent on killing me, lucky I found a close stack of downed trees to hide under. She tried for what seemed like forever to get to me. I didn't do that again.

This is a prime example of one of the golden rules of nature. NEVER feed a wild animal, no matter what it is. Once an animal loses its fear of human, it has the potential to be very dangerous.
Oh man, I've been watching shorts from this channel "Deer Whisperer Lynn Something" and there's a guy that keeps feeding corns to wild deers on that channel. Not just one or two deers, but dozens and dozens...and everyone (including me) were just oohs and aaws on his and the cute deers antics... Maybe someone should warn him...???
Yeah bro no deer is a threat unless you are a complete weakling
@@coloradoman4042 Any 200 pound animal is stronger than any 200 pound man. That is a fact. They have different types of fast twitch muscle fibers that humans do not have.
This reminds me of this video I seen. Male deer are crazy when they are in that mating thinking state. I seen one where is this male deer was following around this female and he was mating her to death and a hunter decided to scare the male away because the female was so exhausted and couldn’t get away from the male. The female deer looks so grateful and she rested her head on the Hunter lap until she had the strength to go.
Video title?
It's a story which was very serious..It was a deer which was in the mating season and was a threat to anyone..The old man was experienced person who knew he was in a bad situation and he kept his cool..
Good that his nephew was with him ! 👏🏼💯
He said "im not a full blown idiot" 😂😂😂
I know I laughed
You would have thought Steven Seagals Son would have got the deer in a choke hold instead of using the knife!
Every time I watch one of these shows I learn a little something about survival!
*getting an animal wet will make it quit attacking, most likely😆. I love it, I had no idea
I came face to face with a huge buck one morning ,going out to wrk at 4am. I thought it was a bear at 1st because of the sound it had made. It was so close that i could feel it breathing . So, i slowly turn my head and see it's a buck. We just stare at each other for a sec and i just slowly walk back up my walk way (i live in middle of nowhere in WV) and when i turned to see what he was doing ,he was still watching me and chewing his food. So ,i guess he was just eating and apparently it wasnt mating season ,lol. I see deer all time living in WV but never have i been that close nor did i realize how big they were. Standing that close to one was amazing but terrifying at the same time. The antlers were huge. I had no idea they were so dangerous ,tho.
About 25 years ago a friend/roommate from my college days was killed by a deer in rut. The deer punctured his femoral artery, and Tom died quickly. Tom was incredibly strong, but he had a weakness...he loved animals. He got a little careless and that was it.
My name is Tom and I'm an animal lover myself . Thanks for the reminder about wild animals .
RIP to Ron may he rest up in heaven...👍🏽
Uncle Ron:" I'm not a full-blown idiot"... 😄😆🤣🤧
The line about the squirrel had me😂😂😂
I mean, the young man gave his beloved uncle the stick? And wished him all the best? Unbelievable
Ha ha thats the best bit
I live in Colorado Springs and see deer all the time. The last thing I would do is pet a buck!
Exactly!
Ron is a true Fisherman...RIP bro..
A truly extraordinary man, RIP Ron.
Hahahaha - "I'm not a full-blown idiot".
Coulda fooled me
3/4 blown
No, he & his nephew are a special sort of idiot. I mean first off they pat a wild deer. That could've gone so wrong right then & there. Then the nephew, instead of beating the deer himself with the stick, hands it to his uncle. So his uncle has to take his hand off antlers, weaken his grip against a deer trying to gore him, & do something his nephew was too stupid to think of.
@@jennaburns8465 dude, stfu, patting a wild deer isn’t bad at all, they don’t usually attack like this
Rite !! 😁😁
“I’M SICK N’ TIRED U’YOU HUNTIN’ M’KIN!” ~Deer. 🤣
Uncle Ron is awesome
I know a man who survived a terrible buck attack while hunting. Ironically, his nephew, my high school buddy, was there, thank God, and saved his uncle's life. The buck gored the man, punctured both lungs, broke 7 ribs, broke a shoulder, and the man received over 100 stitches. The man lost his spleen, had altogether endured 5 surgeries and a long spell in the hospital. My buddy has the stuffed head in his house. He shot it, saving his uncle life. They were hunting fairly close to each other, something they never did before. The reason: uncle wasn't " feelin' right " that morning. Makes ya wonder doesn't it ?!?!?
Not really.

I never knew that deer could be so dangerous. We get them in our yard a lot here in New Mexico. My goodness you two were so brave to hold on for that long.
Deer attacks are rare, but if it happens, it will most likely be a buck. That type of dangerous behavior is not as likely from a doe.
That's so sad. So sorry for the family's loss.

Bambi is a boy??? I thought Bambi was a doe
I had a couple of terrifying encounters with bucks..I heard a commotion behind my house so I walked back behind my house onto a game trail to look around..all of a sudden I saw two big bucks with huge antlers 5-6 points each side running full bore straight towards me..a big German Shepard dog was chasing the bucks..I turn to run back to my property in the only direction I could go which was straight forward on the game trail..i was running over gravel and slipped and fell skidding half way under my car parked behind my house.,those bucks flew over me and the car with ease..I couldn't get up..I had 3 broken ribs, dislocated my shoulder and my knee..I layed there yelling for help when the owner of the German shepard found me and took me to emergency..I had immediate surgery..I wont tell the 2nd story..
What is the second story???
All those injuries from slipping? Not an athlete huh? They wernt charging you they were running from a German Shepherd. Go into trees.
@97RAVINEAVE the game trail had wire fencing on either side making a narrow path..I was holding a frozen bottle of water so I fell on that and broke my ribs..I walked out into the path of the bucks running from the German shepard..
Dang Girl you should tell the Other Story too
You the blonde girl from the horror movies! Don't run straight, you should of cut left or right. Those deer would of kept the shepherd moving. What's the other story ma'am!?🤔

What state are those vicious squirrels in?
@@BigMerkGee Only in Quebec, Canada and they are gaining on other animals, they are top of food chain now, all predators are gone except bears because the vicious gang use them as transport. :)

Here comes the “when the hunter gets hunted” comments..😂.
Not really...; we save those comments for idiots who hunt lions, elephants and other endangered spiecies... with laser guided missiles and then take a picture of the dead animal with their cathedral-like egos shining next to the cadaver. These guys had a stroke of bad luck, same as for the deer which in the end lost its life.
@@acidheadzzz However, they commented about the "nice 9 point deer" which is deer hunter language, normal people who dont kill deer would not refer to a deer by how many points they have.

Most animals will not attack if your not afraid. That’s why this rarely happens to hunters.
so no one carries a pocket knife anymore when they go fishing lol
Years ago I went hiking alone around a large lake which was surrounded by woods. I heard what sounded like a car crash and then I kept hearing the same loud noise and I was getting closer to it, but I knew there weren't any roads nearby. A few minutes later I came across two large bucks fighting in a clearing. The sound I heard was them smacking their big racks together. I stood there in amazement and I don't think they noticed me. I kept still and watched. Then I very slowly went back into the woods, keeping my distance. It's a good thing they didn't turn that fury on me because they were very powerful animals. Any deer can do harm to a human if it wants to, and I wasn't carrying anything to defend myself that day. I would think that bear spray would deter just about any animal that comes after you so it's a good idea to take some with you into the wilderness.
You had what they call a two for one special in my neck of the woods!
@@BigMerkGee 😁

NEVER feed or let a WILD animal around you.
What a story Eric
Have heard of another man who liked feeding bears. Its the same thing. Keep wild critters wild.
I had no idea that Deer's can be all vicious like that. That old head is lucky his buddy was there 2 help em or it would have been game over 4 em.
You didn't assume a wild animal with 20+ inch horns and 150 pounds of muscle could be vicious?
Btw... That was his nephew..
I did not either. At ft. Disney (Disney worlds camp ground in Orlando) but for sure, Manatee Springs State Park, wild deer come up to be pet and want food all the time. Manatee springs (upstate Florida) there is several hundred of them every few feet it nearly seems. Great place to camp, but I never known they were agressive.
Im glad the deer didnt go to waste
You have to know when its mating season for all animals, alligators included their aggressive at that time also, his nephew saved his life, good thing he went out w/ his uncle that day
Try looking inside an alligator nest for eggs or play with one of the baby alligator; I was cutting rice with my brother and I saw baby alligator 🐊. I took the grass knife and touched it! It suddenly called it’s mom. My big brother immediately shouted at me. Too late the Hugh mother was already running towards us. My brother said to run zigzag. Zigzag! I scout to dam and ran up the coconut tree. Luckily I can climb for I was only 9 years old.
and here i thought alligators were the only animal that wasnt aggressive during mating season
