That's it. You just headbanged to a Whitechapel breakdown. Officially, you accomplished your full transformation into metalhead. I was here from the very first Slipknot reaction and I am proud.
This thread is the reason people turn away from metal. No one likes toxic scenes. I literally don't even go to metal shows or join any metal social media communities because if you're not "Trve Cvlt" or you listen to other genres people smear you for not liking what they like. Deathcore, metalcore, mainstream metal bands, etc., is still metal. And metal still remains one of the unfriendlist/unwelcoming music scenes i have ever formerly participated in. Buncha Varg dickriders.
Bozeman is my all time favourite deathcore vocalist. I used to call him death metal Eminem. He has insane pace and pronunciation. He always says he always trains to be as clear as possible.
next has to be X Japan for 2 huge reasons. 1_They are a legendary band and 2_ They were originally named X but they had to change that name because there was a punk rock band in the USA using that name so they turn to be X Japan and also 3_ Even the popular saying of the band is "We are X"
Any time someone wants me to show them a metal song I always show people Phil doing Unanswered at the Mitch Lucker memorial show. Hands down one of the gnarliest renditions of a song. Hha
Woah woah you forgot 2 1: Mark of the blade 2: Elitist ones (Lol 1 is just what got me into them 2 is my second favorite first would be when a demon defiles a witch)
Blood Eagle- Periphery Ok I know you just reacted to Periphery, but I really think you should give them a chance with this song. They released it earlier today and it's a ducking banger.
I literally turned my ps4 on and watch this on my sound system at home because white chapel =gods. Ive seen them 3 times and their live performance is amazing.
Hey Alex, its pretty known among whitechapel fans, that Phil Bozeman (the vocalist) is a big fan of rap and hip hop, and draws alot of his inspiration from there. there are multiple whitechapel songs where he is basically rapping while maintaining his growl. its pretty sick
So cool to see you decide on whitechapel. They've shaped me as a musician and I'm proud to wear a saw blade as the center piece of my right arm of my tattoos. Hope to see you try more!!
Where the band comes from is embedded in its DNA, and this message is what they convey on the first single, ‘The Saw is the Law.’ “ It’s just about what we do, who we are and what we devoted our lives to,” Bozeman said. “It’s sort of an ode to ourselves. If you look at it in a certain way, it does seem like it’s kind of pretentious. But we don’t think that we’re better than anyone else, but we’re proud of where we come from and we’re proud of what we’ve accomplished. That’s pretty much what that song kind of represents.”
You gotta check out "When a Demon Defiles a Witch" by Whitechapel. It's heavy but it also has some clean vocals as well. The song is about the lead singer, Phil's late mother. A lot of their music is about the hardships Phil had to go through while growing up. If you're interested look for some interviews with him and he talks about that and more.
You should check out Phil Bozeman (Whitechapel's vocalist) performing Suicide Silence's song "Unanswered". It's a live video, done at the Mitch Lucker Memorial Show, and it is nothing less than awesome
Forgot about this one and that is their first song, correct me if I am wrong, that features clean vocals in it. One hell of a moving ballad. Totally different than what one would come to expect from these guys but the song is surprisingly really good, I was impressed by that one
I seen them in my home town of Milton PA in 2008 @ the Pennsylvania Metal Festival. They were just starting out. Now they r 1 of the Giants in Extreme/Death Metal. Easily 1 of my favorite bands. Gonna go get their "SAW" tattoo after watching your video!
This song is a masterpiece ugh. I love how you have progressed and now understand growls and how they pair so well with the intensity of the music! I used to not fuck with heavy growling but now I can’t get enough:)) listen to this song to get motivated to workout!!
Now you totally have to check our bring me home ... not only does Phil have some of the best gutterals in the business, but he actually has a pretty fucking good singing voice
[X]: X-Japan - Art of Life (Live at Tokyo Dome 1993) All other suggestions with letter X cant improve this one song, its a whole experience to let it pass without checking it out
Yo it’s great to see where you’ve come from. The beginning of your journey you wouldn’t have given this band a second chance and now you’re all about it it’s awesome. You can sincerely appreciate them and what they’re about it’s so cool, props to you for diving in as deep as you have man keep it up 🤘🤘 and I’ll totally buy an Ozzy shirt if you can get them out
This is the first time I'm hearing whitechapel and I like it! In the past, you would have commented on the fact that you prefer songs to have a mixture of growling and melodic singing. The fact that you loved this song is evidence that you have taken the next step in your metal journey! Congrats
Why not "Art of Life"? The man has sat through quite a few epics already, all enthralled. :) Don't you think he can handle the piano solo? I think he would just fine - I mean that solo is more (emotionally charged) metal than a lot of simple riffage that passes for Metal nowadays...
Next up, Xandria =^^= symphonic metal👁 About band/song; Surprisingly, not bad. White Chapel gives me Meshuggah vibes. I like! You do tend to stick to a lot of deathcore/metalcore/hardcore bands. Perhaps try exploring other subgenres? Do like a Doom week, a Symphonic week etc. That would be a cool way to discover new bands you never expected to hear/like and help us listeners discover new bands as well!
A lot of Alex's community here on youtube is into those mentioned styles, he's getting loads of requests for them from his American base. By comparison, I don't think he has even done BLIND GUARDIAN yet - one of the more inspiring and unique bands on the European side on the pond. So there you go - fans of other metal sub-genres need to be more proactive on this channel. Simple. :) Edited: Btw, I support the suggestion to have "thematic weeks" after finishing up with the "alphabet".
I got to see you them live several years back (this is exile was there most recent album if that says anything) and it was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen
Officially a metal head with this one, of all the subgenres you’ve tapped into Death Metal is pretty much the most brutal while maintaining true musicianship 🤘🏼
Whitechapel best thing to come out of TN by the way that is our state flag and they just put a saw around it if you didnt know lol they use to play close to me and the drummer use to work at a zumies in a mall before blowing up becoming one of the most popular deathcore bands in the genre
That's it. You just headbanged to a Whitechapel breakdown. Officially, you accomplished your full transformation into metalhead. I was here from the very first Slipknot reaction and I am proud.
Nah, before he becomes an "official" metalhead, he needs some Cattle Decapitation and Anaal Nathrakh in his life.
In America you're laughed at. Gore not core.
Aranox *in Europe you'd be laughed at*
Thanks for confirming that Europe is full of Edgy Gatekeeping "Trv Kvlt"
