  • The Passaic River winds through the most heavily populated part of North Jersey. A lot of it isn't pretty, but beneath all the overpasses and behind the miles of barbed wire that flank it, there's a healthy population of northern pike. Join Joe Cermele for an urban flyfishing adventure exploring this not-so-secret "secret" fishery.
Signup for our new fishing newsletter and you can watch all four episodes of B-Side Fishing right now: bit.ly/3siAIhI
Fishing can be slow. Podcasts about fishing shouldn’t be. That’s why we created Bent, the unapologetic fishing podcast that moves faster than a tournament bass boat, but doesn’t take itself near as seriously. Give it a listen for more from Joe and the MeatEater Crew: bit.ly/2XX4hck

I grew up in newark, NJ. I moved to and live in Alaska and never looked back. If theres one thing NJ taught me, is i didnt realize how unfree i was until moved away.
Went back to visit once. Got a ticket for driving down a dirt track to go fishing at the musconetcong. I vowed to never step foot there again.

@@charlesfredrick4789 Of course its subjective. You may be content, but to me, all of NJ sucks. Monmouth county or whatever county.
Rules, Restrictions, taxes, laws, massive amounts of people crammed together.
To be able to get on an ATV with a gun over my shoulder and drive 20 miles into the woods and fly fish a beautiful alpine mountain creek all to myself sure beats pulling up to a designated parking spot on Manasquan river and pulling ticks off me at the end of the day.
