Skyline Stripers with Ryan Callaghan and Joe Cermele | S3E1 | Das Boat
Вставка
- Опубліковано 30 сер 2021
- To kick off Das Boat Northeast, Ryan Callaghan joins Joe Cermele in his home state of New Jersey to chase down striped bass-one of the most economically important fish in the region. But before they get after them, they’ve got to put the finishing touches on our 1973 Mako, which took months to turn from a pile of rotten fiberglass into a seaworthy vessel.

They could do a whole season of just following Cal around on the streets of different areas of NY/NJ and I'd watch every episode.
Call it “Cal in the city”
@@jordanaleman9461 It's just hard to think of Cal in the city...after seeing him so much in the western mountains!
"They fuck up the trailer and leave me a bluefish" lmao. Love seeing the northeast and our stripers represented here!
LOL right!
The videos you guys have been posting are seriously getting my through the worst time of my life. Thank you for what you do!!
This might be the nicest comment I've seen on UA-cam for a while. I hope you are OK!
I hope it gets better for you!
Man… let us know where you are we gotta get you out on the water!!
🙄
I post it all the time but... All this meateater content the last year or so has been amazing... Thank you meateater!!
agree. i'm not even that outdoorsy and it's super entertaining
I've said it 100 times. I absolutely love all MeatEater content. They're on another level of production when it comes to outdoor recreation and conservation.
Been watching Joe for YEARS.
I love Das Boat and Meat Eater, awesome to see 3 worlds collide.
Joe has been training his whole life for this gig!
I LOVE the DAS BOAT series! Keep it up guys! It's an awesome addition to the channel!
Thanks for a new season of this great series boys
I love the dad Boat series but I do have to say I miss hearing Steve do the voice over
I think Dad Boat is going to be season 4 lol
Lol Ryan: “what’s a scupper?” 😂
I heard a fellow say blast your scuppers you barnacle bitten land lubber. Sounds like an insult to me
Here we go! Old busted boats are where memories have morphed into legendary tales!
This is the best series on Meateater
Hell yeah!!!! More Das Boat!!! Seriously the best show on YT
Pumped about this new season, but I miss steve’s voice!
Yeah season 3 is a bust
Yeah, I hate hearing this new narrator, especially in the later episodes where he isn't even in them.
Hi from Syracuse NY everyone and thank you for sharing your thoughts and adventures and everyone else
They got the boat off the most New Castle County dude they could find This show is so authentic! Loving the east coast content, I just hope the season isn’t all salt
Coolest part is recognizing all the background footage in a meat eater episode for the first time!
and here we go with my favorite show off all time
Love it.
It’s the first day of spring here in Australia. Bass season is open.
Great inspiration to go out and fishing.
👍
Please vote out the psychotic authoritarians running your country when you get the chance. None of them should remain in office.
So glad tour#3 is back loved 1,&2..To be honest had forgotten about.Im going to sit back and enjoy.
Always so caught off guard when someone on meat eater drops an F bomb lol. Steve is so poetic and well articulated and I can’t say I can ever recall him cursing on a show.
he curses all the time on the podcast
F bomb 😏
Just awesome to see this channel boom… Das Boat in the Northwest would be pretty sweet.
Joe and cal out fishing?? I love it! Can’t wait to see more 😏🎣👍🏻🛥
One of my top fishing experiences was fishing Stripers at Lake Powell. I was catching them so many different ways. Live yellow perch on a drop shot, Free lined, and under a popper. Bass assassins worked. The best was in the evening when they would school up for massive feeding frenzies topwater. Throwing a popper into that was magic
When I was a kid in the 80s & 90s in Vegas there were monster Stripers below Hoover dam, 40-50+ lbs were common. For all I know they still are, moved east 20 years ago.
lake powell is underrated for bass fishing
always fun seeing you here
@@drewt3210 They are still catching them on big rainbow trout swimbaits. My father inlaw works down at the marina as a tour guide
Powell is always a fun time especially when they boiling
One good wave over the back, and you boys would have been swimming. That engine is waaayyyy too heavy.
Yep, just looked up some numbers. A 1974 Mercury (2 stroke obviously) 150hp motor weighed in at 275lbs. That new 150hp Honda 4-stroke weighs in around 480lbs. A full 200lbs heavier! Yikes!
Good stuff. Joe Cermele with his profanity and blue collar vibe have been a nice addition to the MeatEater network.
Rinella is a genius.... he's tapping into every outdoor market/genre.
and making damn good productions while doing it.
With that heavy pig Honda outboard, you can see at 18:45 that they only have about 3" or 4" of freeboard in the rear of the boat before water is coming in.... hope you boys don't find any big waves this season, or that boat is going to be resting on the bottom.
are hondas know to be heavier than other manufacturers?
This was such a pleasant surprise
I’ve been wanting more Das Boat!!!!
This. Awesome job guys. Also, The jersey attitude made me laugh harder than it should have. Reminded me of home.
Oh lovely a show with a big cigar smoking staten island benny who vacations in LBI every summer. Cant wait for the rest of this series!
Gosh I miss Hook Shots. The music and fishing on hook shots was great
That motor might be a tad big for that boat haha
Man I'd love to see so much more on the rebuild of that boat. Love that shit. And I'm stoked on this Northeast season of Das Boat even as an update NY kid far from the salt.
Hot damn yes! Perfect timing for lunch, I knew we were getting more das boat I didn't know it would be this soon! Hopefully I get to see my home state of Ohio represented this season
I missed it. Now I have to watch it on the clock.
@@Channel13Fishing Thanks for sponsoring Bent guys!
@@danguard8543 big fans of the whole Meateater crew. We really enjoy having them involved from the ground up be it product development. Conservation programs and general working together on partnerships.
@@Channel13Fishing It's hard not to love them, I feel strongly that they're the spear point of our community moving forward.
yes!
A little rougher around the edges than what we have had in the previous couple seasons, but not overly so. Just a little more blue in the collar! I look forward to watching the rest of the season.
They took a good 'man show' and made it a great 'man show!'
They made an episode that I will not show my kids. Bummed.
@@jonathanstearmer4113 why not?
@@nickhartwig950 seems rather obvious. But oh well, there were at least 6 uses of the F word in a 25 minute segment. Also repetitive use of s*** and other vulgarity. If my math is right it averaged about a heavy swear word every 1.5 minutes. I choose to be a positive influence for my kids.
Now for content, everyone know that when comedians choose to go low it means their intellectual capacity is lacking and they have to go for cheap laughs to make it. I like to be elevated intellectually. Filling in conversation with useless swearing just shows how desperate the host and producers have become in trying to develop new content. That is sad and actually pathetic for a brand that has in the past shown great depth in intellectual process and communication.
@@jonathanstearmer4113 its just how some people talk. Plenty of smart people curse man, it isn't that serious, they are words. I like that they don't over edit and have guys re do things to clean it up. Straight nuts and bolts of these 2 guys fishing. Hopefully the plan works and the kiddos never hear a curse word!
So glad season three of das boat is here and up in the northeast.
Cool seeing keyport fishery on meateater. Great episode for us jersey guys.
Love the boat, the cast of characters, and fishing the Northeast! Fantastic.
Love the Das boat series , glad it’s back!!!
YES! Been waiting for this!
Das Boat is back! What an episode to kick off the new season. Punch the clock, punch the bass
I'll say, I was hesitant with out Steve's narration, but I'm on board now. Just took 10 minutes and I'm sold.
Dude with a cigar is the gem of this first show.
So stoked for a new series!
Cal on the East Coast, talk about a fish out of water!
My favorite series of y'all's. So good
Seeing this pop up just made my day.
I am so excited for Das Boat Season 3 - I love this series thank you.
I don't watch TV but I sure as heck mark my calendar for a new Das Boat. Content is amazing on this channel all around, truely award winning caliber stuff guys 👏
Das Boat becoming its own series
Literally pumped about this series.
Thank you!
Yes! I love this series. Go get those stripers!
I’m just happy that I can watch Joe fish some more. Hookshots is the reason I gave the white river a try and caught a 27” brown trout.
Can't wait to see all the upgrades on das boat goes this year
Love Mr. Callaghan.
The gentleman who on every shot has a big gat cigar is pretty badass also.
Cermele sounds like Patton Oswalt!🙃😂 A little cussy fellas keep it clean!
Love this series with Joe C as a host!
I didn’t even know they were doing a das boat 3 series. Hands down my favorite meat eater segment i can’t wait to watch them all
Drinking tall boys out of the paper bags…. Perfect addition.
Great episode. Love fishing stripers and honestly love blue fish. I’ve always prepped it like fried catfish nuggets. Maybe not traditional but it tastes pretty great.
I didn't even know a 3rd season of Das Boat was coming!! Safe to say I was pleasantly surprised!! I really liked seasons 1 and 2 and I was hopeful there would be a 3rd. So that's cool!!
Very cool to see my home waters in these videos. Looking forward to the next one.
Just in time for my chemo treatment. Thanks for the entertainment over the last 5 hours
Cermele and Das Boat combined is unbelievably awesome.
Fish the Delaware Memorial Bridge South. And North to the Commodore Barry Bridge. EXCELLENT Striper fishing in those areas spring time
2nd best series on here. 1st is duck camp diners. I love these Meat eater original series!
Love this series! Das Boat season 1 is what got my 7-year old interested in fishing, so I was excited to watch this with him tonight. I didn't really notice the language (until the flurry of fucks at the end), but my wife sure did! As others have mentioned, any chance for a bleeped version?
Same here trying to watch with 5yr old and didn't expect all the poor language.
Im so excited 😊
Growing up on the Jersey Shore in the 70s, the Mako center console and the Boston Whaler Montauk were THE boat to have. With a Mercury 100, you were set.
Das boat is epic stoked for more!
Yes! More Das Boat!
Yes I've been waiting for this!!!!!!! Love the series!
Love it as usual✊✊
Love Joe since Hookshots. He's an awesome addition to the meateater crew
Can't wait for the next episode
Love das boat. Thanks fellows
I love all the characters in these das boat episodes 👍👍great work keep it up 👍
Love this series!
Awesome been waiting for this. Cheers
Another great series in the making!! Absolutely loving all the UA-cam content you guys have been turning out lately. If I had one critique it would be the amount of F-bombs dropped in the episode. I’m no granny (in fact I’m a welder so the more colorful the language the more productive the job goes sometimes. Haha!), but when I’m sitting down to watch a usually family friendly MeatEater production with my seven and three year old daughters a little warning ahead of time would be nice. That said, if the rest of season three is half as good as this first episode we’re all in for a treat! Keep up the amazing work!!!
I remember one time in ks when I was stationed at Riley, I went fishing with a best bud of mine and as soon as we got there I put my worm on and bam caught 5 within a 15 mins while he was doing who knows what to reach my location. By the time he got there they were gone, I’ll never forget it one of my best catches in a small amount of time ever.
Yesssssssssssss!!!!
Been waiting patiently for this!
Now, idea fr season 4, take it international, head for Africa, SE Asia, Australia and New Zealand....
Tiger Fish?
Heck yes another das boat season to watch during Indiana hunting season!!!
My favorite meat eater series !
If you want to freeze bluefish you need to either make fish cakes or smoke them. Bleeding them out helps out a little, but we don’t mind eating them here in NC.
I couldn’t imagine living in a place where they are so many people.
I love this show! I love meateater. I love Callahan! Lol Canada loves das boat!
Great episode! Love Jersey Frank!
Fresh bluefish is excellent and I would put it up against most any fish out there. It freezes well for about a month too. Much longer and the oil gets rancid which is what kills long term freezing. They are 100% correct you need to cut out the blood line, though. And do that before you freeze and it makes a huge difference.
how do you like to prepare it? I recently caught my first off the jetties in Port Aransas, had to use google to identify it.
I grew up on a 77 Mako 19. What a great choice!
LOVE ME SOME MEATEATERS VIDEO'S ---- thanks joe .. thanks ryan ...... = AWESOME
#TIGHTLINES ~~~ stay safe
Keep Fishing NEVER stop !!!
#peacelovehealthnhappines
Eat them blues. Smoke the big boys. You take a big blue and brine it overnight, pat it dry and let it get shiney in the fridge. Throw it on the treager for about 4 to 5 hours. It'll blow your mind.
Did not know this was coming! Let’s goooooo!!!
Please let Kerber be on a trip, I love this show. Need to do a das boat duck boat
Keep on fishing boys
Love this series
That low transom would scare the hell out of me.
