Ive been a fan of Jay's for years now! I hope to see a meateater team in the next 39 hours! Also If you haven't seen 39 hours its the best fishing show on youtube!
Jay Siemens participant of season 2 of the UA-cam series "39hrs" and his own UA-cam channel. The most hardcore fishing tournament you've ever seen. 3 teams of 2 people each have 39hrs to catch The longest fish of every species and is worth one point, and all techniques are fair game. One of the best fishing tournaments on UA-cam.
I'm 39 and grew up in Virginia and since I was a kid cobia has always been very popular. The difference is now because of social media our new generation is getting into it where it used to be just hard working man weekend fishing or retired fishing. population in the Chesapeake Bay is booming and bigger than ever before!!!
Love to see one of my favorite fishing UA-camrs on my all time favorite hunting brand. Props to you Jay for sneaking your Catch and Cook brand on there with the hat as well ;)
Love this series. MeatEater has really got the best content. Any never ceases to amaze. Continuing to get better and better with each episode and series.. Keep it up team. Bring that boat to southern ontario for some seriously fun fishing. Smallies, perch, pike, walleye, bluegill, crappie, muskie, trout, catfish, carp, etc.
One of the best episodes yet, good content, great views.. and finally got one of my favourite MB/ONT anglers on a larger platform like Meat Eater. Y’all Need to hit up Aaron Wiebe next.
Melange - great word, Frank! Would love to see DAS Boat do a west coast swing next year. I’m all for watching the east coast and Midwest fishing since I am completely unfamiliar, but it would be nice to see a season where us west coast anglers could better relate to the content. Just a thought!
Since Jay is on this episode any chance we’ll see a MeatEater team on the next version of 39 hrs whenever it happens again? I feel like it’d be pretty damn cool.
Cobia are one of my favorites to catch and eat. They really fight, they eat baits reliably and taste great on the grill. The tower of ☠️ ladder looks like fun, thanks for the idea.
Been waiting for this series to come back. Best fishing show I’ve ever watched. Those cobia come into the sound around March every year. we fish for them in the broad river Beaufort sc
This is so dope. Jay awesome to see you on Das Boat! I'm a huge fan of your channel, videography and a Canadian lad myself 🍻 awesome stuff! Huge fan of Meateater and Das Boat as well! Keep up the good work!
watching this dude pull the cobia out of the net before it is in the boat and than holding it so close to the edge of the boat gave me traumatic flashbacks. I have had way to many of these nice fish manage to muscle their way out of the boat by flipping as hard as they can....
This series really needs to come to southern Ontario, lake ontario salmon, down rigging for lake trout. Lake Erie for smallies, large mouth, northern pike and gar pike, and blue hill galore Then lake simcoe for perch and walleye. Be the most epic catch and cook series. And all freshwater. Not to mention all the potential for river and tributary fishing for trout, rock bass, smallies, carp, and catfish.
All only like 1 hour from the border, and all within 2 hours drive of one another. Lots of big name pro fisherman in the area as well. Dave Mercer most notably for large and small mouth in the region. Could be pretty amazing situation to line up for next bass season last saturday in June 2022. Could start a few weeks earlier for walleye, lake trout, salmon run, pike and big nasty fight sheeps head before bass opens. Think about it MeatEater, seriously. Not to mention some hunting seasons overlap in those weeks. Could be quite the multiple part series and trip for the crew and guests considered.
That's what I was thinking. "Fish on!" *don't you dare move that camera off her ass until the fish is in the net!* Not that I really mind... but in this day and age I'm surprised there's not already a ton o f outrage in the comments already.
Great episode! We are heading there this weekend to break in the new boat. I was going to stay in kiptopeke only but now i want to visit cape charles as well :)
And speaking of the series coming to southern Ontario.....lake St.. Clair for muskie is the most underrated fishing trip in both the USA and Canada. They say it's the fish of 10k casts. Well I'll tell you personally that it isn't. You can throw the biggest buzz baits available on the market. And you will absolutely slay them. It's one of the funniest things ever. 50 plus inches isn't uncommon multiple times in a day throwing the right colour. And the st Clair river is pretty special too. Again just a short drive away.
Can Frank Martinez be my spirit animal? I want to have a good natured, cigar-smoking Jersey fisherman leading my life in all efforts to catch good food and build opportunistic casting towers on fishing boats. I know your tears were shed because you couldn’t have that cameraman’s view while fishing.
We all know. Its not the fish for this episode. It's the yoga pants. The obvious camera angles were obvious. And thank god for obvious camera angles. They are most certainly appreciated.
I got seasick trying to get out of the Oregon inlet in the outer banks going cobia fishing. I lasted until we got our bait and the captain didn't wanna deal with me. I've never seen a captain get so mad but I am determined to try it again one day.
Can’t go wrong cooking cobia, unless you pour Lawrys, Frank’s red hot, garlic salt, lemon pepper, meat eater seasoning, and don’t even make a meal out of it.
my home waters and there is so much more: puppy drum, black drum, gray trout, speckled trout, the list just keeps going. not to minchin the best oysters and clams to be had anywhere. we only stop fishing for deer and duck season. cape charles is at the bottom of a long peninsula made up from three states; Maryland, Delaware, virgina. collectively known as Delmarva, the lowest part is called The Eastern Shore of Virginia [ the shore to the locals] here we have access to both the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic ocean, plus smaller bays behind a string of barrier islands stretching along the coast that are chalked full of shark, tarpon and all manner of smaller eating fish. I'll but you'll not find a better place for blue crabs
Here we goooooooooo!
Been waiting for this one!!
Just got a bonus at lunchtime in Winnipeg!!!
Meateater , Jay and Clay. Are my favorites. Jay your so underrated, and I hope this skyrockets your Channel.

What a nice surprise to see Jay on here. If you're not familiar with Jay check out his videos, lots of fun and very informative.

Das boat in the bay.
P.S. stop telling everybody about our cobia fishery! Its phenomenal btw.
I look forward to all these videos and the evolution of the series. Liked the, "Casting tower of death."
Jay for the new Bent co-host!!!
Always love this series! Giving life back into old boats! So many good hulls out there if you can do basic fiberglass work...
so really good guests this season. one of my favorite "fishing" youtuber series.
Bri has that million dollar smile and personality She is awesome.
I'll watch anything with Jay Siemens.

Nice to see a big fish being released and some of the homies on the show!
Jay Siemans and Bri Andrassy, Cobia is a Southern hidden treasure. Fish of choice, Tastes like Lobster Baby, but better!
I hear Catch & Cook Cobia is a treat this time of year… 👌
And there goes even more of our cobia fishery 🤣 love the show, sucks when it’s your home town. Had to throw the gripe in there, carry on 😎

Like back in the '90s when POWDER magazine used to run "Best Secret Powder Stashes" articles...thanks for nothing! #theregoesthefun

BEST EPISODE SO FAR
YES JAY!!!!
That bilge is working overtime
Great Job on the boat the show was awesome I really enjoyed it God's Blessings on all your adventures
Instead of Sam-cam we got Bri Booty-cam. I’m sure Sam won’t be happy knowing that was Jay’s view for a full day of fishing

If you listen to Joe's podcast you'll know he's muskie cursed.
I tell ya what, you bring that boat down here to Kettle falls WA during late spring, we willl show people how to catch dinosaurs lol.
Cant wait for the next episode! 😃
My show! New episode… Lezgo!
Please have Frank as a regular on MeatEater, that mustache and cigar combo is magical
I thumbed up on this vid simply because it's a MeatEater production. Nuff said.
I got to fish for coba near seaweed beds. We would flatline a whole squid with no weight and fluorocarbon line. Super fun hard finding fish.
Since when is Virginia in the north east? That being said..love jays content.
Virginia fishing has more in common with north eastern fishing than it does with fishing further south
Boat looked pretty heavy when they were tagging it, and the bilge was screamin!
JAY! Manitoba boy! Cmon!
Please do a Meat Eater vs 39 Hours cross over
Awesome!
Take that Mako to the Keys...Killer setup.
Bri! Yes! She's awesome!
We want Steve!!!
Y’all should have an auction for the boat. I would bid.
PLEASE get the "Huge Fly Fisherman" on this show!

Ok Mr cameraman, we see you 👍

I'm glad we can know where they go in the winter... so we can overfish cobia too. Lol

Cobia is an amazing fish.

No Catch and Cook with Jay????

The dude with a cigar looks preposterous!
This was great but they should’ve had better intros to these accomplished fishermen! Jay is my favorite fisher on UA-cam!
We need Rinella back for the next season, no offense, but Steves voice is just more titillating..
Better boat, same bad ideas. That's going on my t shirt.
So is this Joe Cermele's show or the Frank Show? Frank's had more screen time than anybody else.
We couldn't get you a tuna tower....here's a painter's ladder and some ratchet straps
Should we be concerned about that bilge pump running the whole time the boat is in the water?
Not at all. Concern starts when the pump STOPS ;-)

wheres the catch and cook at?
You guys have got to get some local chefs on this show for proper cooking of the fish. Let's be real, captains are odd and so are their taste buds.
I spoke too soon. Next episode. 😆
This camera guy is somethin else 🤦🏽♂️
YES
