I would rather go by the 80\20 rule. So 1 hour sharpening and 4 hour working. The sharpening of a tool is only used to set the direction you want to go in. The working is where the true learning happens, it is here that we try and fail, therefore learn.
I wish my parents told me this story when I was a child. They didn't, thanks for making this video now I know it and will pass this on to future generations.
Wow super awesome story, amazing animation. I really liked the analogy with Michael, the axe, the trees and the wife/kid. Great work as usual! This is like the 7th habit of highly successful people (Sharpen the Saw) 😄
I enjoy your videos very much! Your way of clearly conveying ideas through well planed animation is exceptional. It’s good being here😄Btw congrats of hitting the 10k subs milestone😁
I needed this video. I've felt exactly like this man that keeps chopping away but gets less efficient over time. It all makes sense now that I need to sharpen my skills if I want to find happiness in my work. Thank you for making this video!
I can't just say thanks! literally every video of This channel discusses and solves many troubles I face which makes me feel so much better, great effort guys!
Really some of my favorite videos on self improvement, development and psychology. Truly, an amazing format to present your ideas for everyone to share and grow on.
omg, this is so true, we are so busy doing things that we care about, we work hard to achieve them but when we fail by the same amount of hard work or don't progress we saturate so , take a step back and think about what is wrong or what can we learn new about our work this is how we progress :)
Good vid. Tip: LESS is used for non specific values. e.g. less time, less rain/wind/snow, less motivation etc. As opposed to FEWER, which is used for distinguishable items, e.g. fewer trees, fewer dogs, fewer people care about language these days. Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much, ive been trying to become a better writer, with small success, because ive been trying to practice by just continually writing. I see now that I need to sharpen my skills to really become good.
I've spent all my time sharpening my axe that it has turned into a chainsaw but I'm still scared to chop down the trees because I don't know how the techniques of how to make the tree fall a certain direction or how to cut properly and I feel like I'm, going to injure myself. (I have knowledge and basic skills but I don't have the practical skills that actually allow me to start making money)
Its said that the old China Town was planned through 20 years and built through 60. And the cathedrals built in Europe, at a simmilar time, took 5 years ti plan and 100 to build(or something like that)
Thank you thank sir! I really love your videos and it's really helping me to be motivated to draw! It's my dream to be an animator someday btw. Thank you, thank you sir again!
kinda like when you are a good student but then stop studying but still try hard at school itself. You'll have to sharpen your axe, because cutting down trees with a hammer is really hard; even unnecessarily so..
This is very helpful. I have never thought of this before. Its like not work hard but work with your mind, how to make things easier and more progressive.
I want to start my first online business, i watch and learn a bunch of tutorial every day... But i always procastinate because i'm afraid to fail... That's only my problem
More than that, I loved it! Push yourself and do more than just mind bending videos. I feel like you are one of the few people who have the power to change the world 😊
Feels pretty odd to be reminded to sharpen my axe by an analogy in a self-help vid,,, oh well, Cordwood axe-challenge is still a few months away, and I don't need more firewood.
how does my studies at school fit the axe in this analogy?? Im trying to find skills I can improve to preform better in classes that I am weak at like in English and History.
Hey can you make a video on how to stop being lazy and watching UA-cam videos a lot and TV. Basically how to stop doing things that distract people from doing actual work
I'm the exact opposite of this. I spend so much time sharpening my axe that I sometimes forget to use it.
Really feel you and it feels bad
same we need to fix the method @@kommentarschreiber1611

Yeah 🙌
If i had 6 hours to chop down a tree. I would spend the first 4 hours sharpening the ax.

@@linkinl1 I'd just buy a chainsaw, simple.
@@lukamitrovic7873 Meh I pay people a small amount of money and they do it for me,
Thats too much, an hour of axe sharpening is more than enough.
@@Hardeneer that's just metaphor, mate
