The AC was changed in a software update. When i first got my 2020 in 2019, I never had to crank the ac pass 3, now I crank it up to 8 daily.
This reminds me of an anime called Ex-Driver where no one knows how to drive anymore cause the cars are all autonomous. There is a team of specialized drivers with licenses that are permitted to drive gasoline powered not computer driven vehicles. They go around saving people from hackers that take over the autonomous network. Pretty fun =)
Or the movie Demolition Man with Sylvester Stallone and Sandra Bullock.
I mean, the premis makes no sense but if it’s a fun watch then go right ahead.
@@HarrisonAdAstra Wow, you don't know Demolition Man? I made reference to it because there's a scene that Sylvester Stallone's character, whose from the past due to a "cryo-prison release", gets into this police car and tries to drive it, but can't. Sandra Bullock had to voice command to turn on. Later on, Stallone tries to stop the car to take down Wesley Snipes, forgetting that its driverless and breaks the stearing wheel in the process. No spoilers revealed above.
I remember
FSD currently also takes exits and merges on the highway, slows down for other drivers to merge, as well as stops for red lights and stop signs on local roads.
I loved this video. I find self driving so interesting. It always makes me laugh when people are scared of it and think an automated driving car is too scary or dangerous. I'm scared of people on the road, not computers.
totally agree with this !
automated driving is boring. But if you don't like driving or simply don't know how... then yeah, self driving is an option 🤣
Something I learned is while in Autopilot if you turn on the blinker and subtly start to change lanes it will disengage only the steering portion allowing you to change lanes while keeping the cruise control on. Then just double-tap the stalk again once in the new lane to get Auto Steering going again. This is much better than completely disengaging the Autopilot to change lanes.
Your videos are always such a joy!
it didnt max out. on september 18 tesla stopped doing charging referals, now it is only for tesla solar
In the UK most young drivers have a “black box” fitted to monitor driving style, and your monthly car insurance payments are based on your score.
This video was pitch perfect! Learned so much, thank ya
Or was it peach perfect?
Liberty mutual was doing something like that a few years ago with the “tracking for cheaper insurance” thing. But they didn’t have an app at the time, and did it with a thing that plugs into the diagnostic port on your car
I live in LA. I’ve never waited for a charger, and I travel a lot up and down California.
Toyota simply has the best AC in the automotive industry period.
John’s AC is heavenly haha
I love Sara Dietschy Rhymes with Peachy.
PLEASE do slightly more Tesla related Videos. 🥺🥺🧡🧡
ALSO, I’m Assuming that’s John Recording 😘💜 I love you guys.
When I found out one of my favorite skaters is dating one of my favorite tech UA-camrs, it blew me away you even know who he was 🥺🥺
OPE. I’m 8 minutes in and see it’s not John 😂😂🥺🥺🥺 missed opportunity 😉😘 he’s a stud
I can totally relate to you Sara, like charge once in a week or two weeks. I used to get a garage when i had the option and just leave the car to charge via 110v outlet but after i moved to this new place, dont have an option to charge/get a garage, so i get to nearby charger in under 10mins and get a quick refill.
Not sure if its just me but the v3 charger in grapevine has recently been charging me crazy $$$ $14 to be exact to refill 90%. I remember it used to charge $7 and other v2 used to charge the same, not sure if its a v3 thing or power prices have increased recently.
Wait. What? Forced autopilot disengagement seems a bit dangerous to me. If it can't detect your hands on the steering, it seems to me that is the time you REALLY need autopilot. Suppose you'd fallen asleep or passed out or had a heart attack. Autopilot would be able to take the car to safety, maybe safely pull over somewhere, then ring the emergency services. That sounds like a better move than just disengage and then put you and everyone on the road in danger. Am I missing something?
Same here, that beep is annoying at times! Sometimes it beeps when the car in front is turning and I’ve slowed down, or when I move because there’s bumps on the road that I am trying to avoid and have to go over a line. 🙄 However, I still love my model Y! I have Travelers’ insurance and my premium only went up with my Tesla about $30 per month.
Yesssss! This was 👍 great! cell phone compatability and other infotainment stuff... hdd, sentry mode ect..lots to cover... did you know there was after market power frunk?
I am a licensed insurance agent and actually handle Texas. Just recently had my first customer switch to Tesla insurance. But the driving apps with driving scores are with a lot of companies now, StateFarm, Your company Progressive, and GEICO are some of the ones I’m aware of.
100% recommend getting Ceramic Tint on your windows. Not only does it give you more privacy, but it blocks out 80% of the heat. It’s a huge win. I got it on my Model 3 windows and roof, it made a HUGE difference.
I’m considering a Model 3P. I haven’t had a chance to test drive one yet. I noticed there was a some cabin noise or at least more than I expected. Is that because of your mic or the car?
For most of the EU countries, there's a bonus/malus system where if you have speed tickets or accidents on the road your car insurance can be 4 x more expensive than the regular. You need to be responsible on the road.
Also if you're a young driver - the car insurance will be again more expensive. :)
Similar over here in Ontario, Canada :)
That’s how most insurance works.
State Farm has one of these sensor monitors you can put in your car. It can reduce your payment if you’re a ‘safe driver’ but I haven’t gotten it because I disagree with the premise of it
ua-cam.com/video/voSx7ko7maI/v-deo.html
Progressive used to have an OBD2 device you plug into your car for tracking driving behavior to get insurance discounts (Snapshot I think?) -- do they not still have this?
What do they even do when you get your Tesla inspected for the yearly state inspection?
Hey Sara! Curious what your thoughts are on Ryan Shaw’s FSD beta test drive video.
AP would struggle to deside whether to go straight or take the exit if you weren't in "Navigate on Autopilot". You can turn on AP with no navigation destination. I have had it slam on the brakes until it figured out that I didn't want to exit.
Liberty Mutual also has a safe driver program. It just makes sense to me.
Did not know you could press up to exit autopilot. 🤯 This has changed my life
I really hope Metromile makes its way to Texas soon. I have them now and pay per mile insurance and it’s all techy as well. I pay like, $65 a month for maxed out insurance 😅
Me too. The little black box seems to know my every move, though. It's fun looking at the routes I've made online. As for the future: I look forward to the day when automated cars just need 5 mm space between them, so all the pavement can be pared down to mere strips..
i am sure there is a way to put vented seats in a Model Y its probably though a bit pricey. Btw if you don't have a charger at home ask neighbors or near spots which might cost you sth but at least you can charge and if you can afford a Tesla i am sure that is a considerable option if SC isn't working
I had horrible experience with metromile for a hit and run while my car was parked. They sent my photos to a reconstruction agency and came back saying my car was hit while I was driving. They are just a fancy app on top of national general insurance. I lost 2k+ of my money. Same issue happened with another traditional insurance provider and no questions asked they repaired my car except that I had to pay the deductible. Be very careful guys!
@@cachegrk ah, man, so sorry to hear that. I'm surprised to hear that. I've had great experiences on my end. Not sure why there are inconsistent experiences.
I have Metromile too here in Virginia! I end up paying like $75-$90 depending on how much I drove, I think 2 months I didn't pay any miles because I didn't even go out lol but haven't had an issue with them... paying by mile is far better for us people who don't drive a lot. My insurance used to be $160 and I don't think I'd ever drive enough to reach a monthly bill of $160 with Metromile.
You mean certain parts of California have congested superchargers like LA and SF because where I live in Temecula I have never had an issue with supercharger congestion. Free supercharging referral miles ended a few months ago not sure if you are aware of that.
if you have your car parked in a garage it will cool down quicker.
Thanks for demystifying "Self Driving" very insightful. I'm hoping Tesla does high performance motorcycles some day. Instant buy for me.
Sara is back!
ua-cam.com/video/voSx7ko7maI/v-deo.html
I’m curious. When auto driving is actually offered by Tesla, and you buy car insurance from Tesla, will the cost be $0?
I'm also considering buying a Tesla (prob a model Y) for my next car in 3-5 years. Happy to hear about the little annoying quirks like that AC thing and the lack of ventilated seats. I can never survive without that again living in FL, even my 9yo Kia Optima has it.
Does this not happen in other states? Here in Massachusetts many insurance companies do the same, some that i know of: Progressive, GEICO, Liberty Mutual.
What was it like to buy a Tesla in Texas? Is it true you have to go out of state to pick up your car?
I’ve been told by a service technician that the AC problem isn’t to do with the vents but instead the actual AC unit not being as powerful as those in gas cars
So it’s an electric car problem I guess :/
I love the safety that Tesla have 💙💙💙 nice to know this
Girl those glasses with that shirt and your hair making you look amazing hopefully you’re having a great day
What is the mount that you use for the GoPro ? :)
A lot of insurance companies offer a discount if you install one of their modules into your cars computer so it could track your speed and driving habits. Tesla seems pretty cool but I want to see how the market matures with more makers in he space and the overall charging infrastructure /standard is established. Looking forward to see what Dodge does with the electric challenger.
Awesome video really enjoyed the content
Question for Sara or anyone in the comments. Thinking of getting a Model Y or 3, which one should I do for a daily car with a 30minute commute? I do have a new born so it does need to fit a carseat.
also @sara where can I find your Tesla link if I do buy one?
unfortunately they ended the free 1000 miles program
I also live in Fort Worth and Progressive insurance prices are the best. My premium is $850 per year for a new Tesla Y.
Is there no air through the foot-well like in normal cars?
Pretty sure they are moving there (to Texas) because there's no state income taxes. That's why some companies are flocking to move in Texas
FSD is getting so much better
So there’s health insurance companies that do tracking things too now
ANOTHER video, wow. Sara’s back on her hustle. 👏🏻
Our AC freezes us out. It’s crazy to hear your experience. We rarely turn it above 5
Such A Great Video.🤩🤩
I'm finding the opposite. The AC takes longer to cool the interior in my previous cars compared to the Model Y. Is it possible that John's 4Runner is tinted with heat-blockers and your Model Y isn't?
No Johns is just powerful
The Model Y uses a system similar to a heat pump. Other Teslas use more standard A/C auto systems plus resistance heating. The model Y system uses less power in both summer and winter, and thus increases the range of the car. The downside is it does not blow air as hot or as cold.
Thanks Peachy
i was surprised to see the car did not get a custom "Peach" paint job.
The model S plaid, the car that really goes vroem vroem! 😂 Glad to see you seem to be in agroove and making stuff you are enjoying.
Fact there has been leaks I saw on reddit that the roadster is gonna have the advance version of the carbon wrapped motor of the plaid .
Thanks.
Hopefully I can buy it for the next years 😬🙏
Tint the window and the roof to keep it cool
"aggressive turning" lol and this is why I don't want my car manufacturer to also offer insurance plans.
State Farm does it, too
That’s the north side of Fort Worth that part of the freeway is crazy
Thanks That was good vlog.
State Farm does this, too.
There have been insurance companies basing rates on driving patterns for several years now. A few places offered a device you place in your car that tracks your driving habits and your rates are based on them, so this is nothing new. I do think it would be interesting to see how Tesla's insurance differs.
Sara charging at super chargers should only really be done on a road trip otherwise at home charging is best because super chargers wear out your battery long term vs at home charging.
Self driving is a staggeringly complex situation that will take at least another decade to be completely reliable and perfected, if ever.
Pessimistic much.
@@HarrisonAdAstraspace Now that doesn't mean that we can't invent roads with more intelligence. But you can't prevent people from being people. There was someone on highway 401 (The busiest highway in Canada) today in the middle land on a two-wheel electric scooter for god's sake! He's doing 30km/h and the traffic is doing 120! The OPP had to scramble 12 cars to block on-ramps and form a traffic barrier till they could get this guy off the highway. Luckily, they got him before anyone hit him!
I might just get the ford lighting because they are taking forever with the cyber truck
Fascinating
Congrats!
I'll get one some day, when im 50! HERE WE GO!!!!!!
I live in El Paso, Texas gets even hotter here, i have a Model Y, you might want to get it tinted all windows and front as well, it makes a world of difference in 100+ degree summers and makes your A/C work less to maintain temps so it saves u some range as well in the long run
Smart!!
The only problem I see with these cars is there not good if you live in a small town because most small towns don't have charging stations. And I live in the biggest populated city in Florida and we don't have charging stations everywhere either. And I don't think they're good for long road trips but hey you're good for commuting around town or commuting back and forth to work
2 years ago fsd was 7k and 3 years ago it was 5k and 4 years ago you could get it for 3k so only recently is it 10k or 8k
So where do you store your M4?
Meh. Live in AZ with 120+ summers. AC in our Model Y has never been an issue. I have ventilated seats in my truck but don't think they really make a difference and I never use it.
In the UK, it's not uncommon for insurers to demand a black box which tracks your driving. Mainly for younger drivers, but others take advantage of installing for cheaper insurance
For autonomous car insurance. Certainly in UK teh insurance companies have made it clear, that once it's mainstream, they will make insurance for humans to drive on the road cost prohibitive. Maybe in 25yrs maybe less, they only way you'll get to drive a car is to be rich or on a track
Great job ❤
Model y performance white or blue with white Interior???
20:00 It would be really great if there was a system, some sort of robot, that could set out a set of traffic cones, without any human actions, in just a few seconds. Maybe a few different versions, such as with cones or with barrels.
I think Toyota's have the best A/C. I have a Tacoma and the A/C is amazing. Same can be said for my very first car, a '94 Camry.
Ford AC better
Sara, is this essentially the first car to have autopilot included on it? 🤔
really goes vroom vroom... dont know why but put a smile on my face... its childish but funny my kind humor
ua-cam.com/video/voSx7ko7maI/v-deo.html
Texas is a wonderful place.
Great video much ❤️
The Travelers insurance app is interesting, especially if you drive safe. The problem I see is when your crazy neighbor takes you for a ride in his new twin turbo Corvette, and decides to do a top speed run down I-183 while you film. After 3 months your new premium is now $900 per month. 🤔
Love the video! A fellow NTX here!
How much does insurance cost?
Loved your glasses, where can I get those?
I didn't know you here in DFW! I've come across several UA-camrs recently who recently moved to the Dallas area.
Progressive does it (Driver tracking), Travelers, Safeco, Mercury, State Auto, State Farm, Allstate, and probably others. You say you don’t like big brother watching, BUT if you have a cell phone he’s also listening! ;)
Great info about the car :)
ua-cam.com/video/voSx7ko7maI/v-deo.html
I considered a Tesla but went with a Polestar in the end. Between quality issues, much talk but slow/no delivery, cost of ownership and subscription models, and little things like having to use the console for everything quickly made me realise it is not the car brand for me.
Self-driving vehicles might be the future, but Tesla to me is the equivalent to those clunky first mobile phones that had a big antenna on the side. Polestar has the same performance, but looks better (subjectively), and you get that luxury feel of a brand new hich-tech car.
Pls share more experience with your polestar
"Tesla to me is the equivalent to those clunky first mobile phones that had a big antenna on the side"
You're the first person I hear saying this. To me Tesla feels like the first iPhone while other manufacturers feel like flip phones.
@@DannieMayre I think the reviews that are on youtube give a more thorough picture of the car. But in my experience it's a really nice, quality/luxury car that combines what is good about premium brands such as VW, BMW and Volvo in terms of build quality and materials, feel to drive, stylish interior design with the right amount of buttons, and suspension with what is good about a pure EV. It is really something else than all the other EVs on the market, Polestar is a purely EV company. It feels a little heavier than the average sedan when you are driving it, but still lighter than a SUV or a station wagon. You generally only notice it if you do a curve or speed bump a bit agressively. In terms of performance it is on par with Tesla, so rocket launching yourself on to the highway or taking off from a red light is thrilling. The charging infrastructure where I live (west coast of Sweden) is good, basically every city parking lot has a few charging stations so you can always add a few percentages while grocery shopping or visiting a friend. I like the android-based on-board computer. It's not Android Auto or whatever the critisised Android system was called but a more fully featured version that uses Google Maps, Google Assistant and is compatible with many Googpe Play (store) apps. Very snappy and responsive. I love being able to ask the car to play the latest news or ask it a random question I came up with.
The drawbacks in my view is that I would like a bit more storage space, it's fine and groceries and bags fit well but occasionally you want to put something bigger in there. I also think the backside could look a bit better, personally I'd prefer a more traditional back side instead of the Tron-inspired tail light they have, but many others think it looks great so it's a matter of preference. Overall I'm really happy with my choise, I honestly feel like I dodged a bullet a little that I found out about Polestar before I went and bought a Tesla even if the latter is a good car as well.
@@olivier9835 Arguably the technology step between wired phones and the first cellulars was bigger. But in that sense you are right, the technology step between Tesla and its competitors isn't that radical historically.
They have made important advancements when it comes to battery and self-driving software, it really is a software company more than it is a "hardware" company and that is something different for sure. But in my view they have two major drawbacks. They lack the experience of what makes a great premium car, both in terms of build and materials quality and in terms of overall ownership experience. They are also too ambitious, they promise a lot that they don't really deliver and the ambitions also result in that the customers pay for their huge R&D and manufactoring expenses while the return in terms of user experience is often questionable. There are a lot of expensive nice-to-haves.
Love your video. As a Tesla fan, I am sharing it to my college students for a taste of American Oral English .
My AC is at 1 or 2 at 68 or 70 deg F and it’s absolutely freezing.
Most insurance already does this.
Sara, I would love to see a Good Texas Adventure out of your Team and the Target Tale would make me want Target Hondas worse because I'd flip over Steve and Billy Torrence going to Toyota in the NHRA out of Kilgore, which is Peak GM Detroit Territory. Highkey, I'd want to see the Tesla make an adventure to Ratliff in Odessa to see Permian Play Football for the fun of it.
The CLASSIC Tesla UA-camr Video

Banger!
Ahhh you must've been one of the 1.2 million teslas I see in Southlake 😂 love the vid!
How long would you be willing to risk your life for until Premiere Pro next crashes? Or Resolve? How about one of the most mature products developed over decades like Excel? No? And FSD is far more complex than any of them!
I think I would love to have robo driving something that you know, self driving everywhere. With everything that is on self driving, everything should have the same safety feature. So the only problem are the hackers, sort of.
