I love this video, Sara! As a new Model 3 owner, I can finally relate to this. I may have missed it, but what camera mount(s) are you using? I'm looking for something to hold my GoPro for vlogging/reviewing on the go while in my Model 3.
I was definitely thinking of a 3D Printed spacer for the charging tray 😁
RIP back tire rim. 2021-2021
Plenty of companies specialize in fixing curb rash at reasonable prices.
Andy’s got a sweet channel he posts about Tesla’s
I’ve felt that
They designed the rims and tires to not last. I can prove it easily. The rim size and tire size need to match I order for the seal and the rolling resistance, cornering and they wear evening as they can. What happened here is the rim is too wide for the tire. I have even had this happen to me. It’ll slowly warp the brake rotors. You can laugh and snicker all you want by Tesla is making bizarre and arguably unsafe design choices.
The lady who tweeted something foolish erases her comment lol
I LOVE THAT YOU HAVE BRADY HELP FILMING YOU!!! This is such a dope video with so much information. Thank you Sarah!
Aside from applying pressure to the wheel, you can just spin the control wheels. A bit easier :). Also to get out of autopilot, you can push up on the right control stalk instead of tapping the brake pedal.
Love the white interior, but yikes that's a lot of dye transfer. Starting to think I should just go for the plain black.
You really should imo
I have the black interior and every time i spill something i remind myself i don't have white seats😂
ive had the white for over a year and it looks new. i wipe it with baby wipes weekly and ive heard the white material is easier to clean
Go with white! I have 3 kids and have had white seats since October, they clean so easy with just a wet cloth.
She probably wears a lot of new clothes. Once you wash clothes once, there’s basically no dye transfer. Mine is pristine after 2 years.
It switches lanes automatically with no need to push turn signal. It's an option to go full auto. We went on 4400 mi roadtrip. It drove 95% of time automatically. We have fsd for both ours. Planning to keep ours for decade like our last car. Spread out its pretty affordable esp if you roadtrip alot. Which you will because auto driving is so effortless.
Actually a great review. I have a model y and it's just so practical, fun, fast and so much tech.
Thanks, Sara! This is the most informative video I’ve seen on Tesla. You’ve answered just about every question I’ve had. I appreciate you taking the time to post it.
The intro for this video is awesome! I love the white interior and grey exterior combo!
I watch a TON of Tesla reviews and informational videos because im obsessed but this is the BEST video I've seen with both practical information and the quality of filming. 👌🏼
Your videos have been a big part of convincing me to order. I live just south of Fort Worth and finally bit the bullet and ordered. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!
Did the same thing to my wheel/rim the first day and never looked at/worried about it again lol. Gotta just get over it with cars.
I have a 2020 M3 and keep it at 70% normally and just boost it to 90% before trips. You don't want to do 100% because regen breaking won't work. Also the charger at home (L2) is such a game changer. I just leave my house with a 'full' car every morning.. It's awesome!
You make such great content 🙏🏽 been subbed to you for like 4 years and you continue to push out great vids 🙌🏽
Sara you are killing it. You covered all the things I want to know and you even showed me your scuffed up wheel.
really nice b-roll at the beginning!
10/10 video Sara! I love your reviews always. I wanted to add something I feel like never gets said about Tesla's; They are honestly great until parts need replacing, the parts are VERY expensive. I work at a shop and we've seen a few Tesla's which were used as taxis, the high mileage in short time always give a great view into the future for what a normal daily driver will experience. Regen braking also saves on pad life, but the calipers rarely get used and can easily seize up over time from lack of use. A step in the right direction in automotive technology for sure, however I feel that the cost of maintenance in the long run always gets overlooked.
This was soooo helpful in helping me pick my configuration!!!
Another awesome video! You've explained so many pet peeves and tips and tricks I've never heard before even after watching a million Tesla videos on UA-cam!
Another way to disable the autopilot is to press up on the right stick. This way you're brake lights don't come on (provided you have your foot on the accelerator, otherwise regen braking will kick on the brake lights and start to slow the car as soon as you disable AP).
Yup, thats it. No white seats for me! Black int/black ext with 20" induction.Ordering my Tesla Model Y for my bday in July! :) I also live in the DFW area without a garage so I am glad that you are finding superchargers accessible. Great video!
To get out of auto pilot you can also press up on the stock.
Hey! This is my first time seeing your channel and I just wanted to say that your channel is clearly underappreciated! U looked at the first 5 seconds of your video and scrolled down to see your subscriber count and it shocks me! So yea that's pretty much everything I wanted to say! Keep up the amazing work!
Yes Sara, let's talk about it!! I've been wondering how you like it.
Early upload? Love it.
P.S. that jacket is amazing!
I have this same exact car in Blue. Best car I've ever owned. The hands on the steering wheel thing is a pain. It always tells me to put my hands on wheel when they already are.
I have a blue model Y as well. The reason for the steering wheel alert is because it is looking for a slight turning force. Not recommending this but you can buy a steering wheel weight that clamps around the wheel to always apply a force for you for those long highway drives.
@@0xVeniVidiVici Definitely don't do this. Do what Sara showed (hold the bottom of the wheel with one of your hands, except I usually flip my hand over, also you can alternate between hands for long trips) and let the dead weight of your hand/arm pull on the steering wheel a little. Feel free to rest your arm on your leg if that works for you. It takes a while to master, but once you've got it you should almost never get a nag. In case you didn't know, the way nags work is that the motor that turns the steering shaft looks for resistance when it makes adjustments. If you put your weight on the wheel (or turn the wheel yourself) that will make it slightly harder for the motor to turn the shaft, and therefore it knows you're paying attention.
Pro tip, just roll one of the scroll wheels up or down one notch (I do the volume) that registers as being attentive.
@@darylbrice lol, I figured that out about a month ago, and do it all the time :)
@@0xVeniVidiVici lol, I've thought about that
Thanks so much for this video it was so informative..
Pick my 2022 tesla Y up in February
I clicked so fast been waiting for this vid!! looove it!
I experienced the "to short to charge" with most wireless chargers with the iPhone 12 mini as well. It is solved with a small bit of the weather stripping for doors and cars(you can get it in white or black). Really inexpensive and solves the wireless charge issue for the little iPhone guy!
Perfect timing! I got my VIN today and this is my exact car!
Been waiting for this video! Excited to show my wife as we are close to pulling the trigger on a Y. Great stuff as always!
"There's toll roads everywhere" There are lots in Texas, especially in DFW area. A bit annoying.
But great video Sara! Enjoy the Y!
This car is so beautiful... I think I was a bit on the fence when it came to Tesla but after looking into the car, it's just amazing.
As family who is transitioning majority of our cars to EVs( specifically Tesla’s -unless smth better comes out), You have one of the best reviews for tesla especially with when you’re educating on specific tech functionality. I hope they sponsor you to do more reviews for other their models. 😊
Caught the inside of the new studio on Shelby Church's vlog, really cool to see the inside here! It looks phenomenal. I just got a new Honda for my first car that has a screen, and it overwhelms this old dude. I couldnt imagine having even more features like this Tesla!
I love your videos and this was a nice surprise since I also watch car videos. Also seat covers seem like a good idea
That’s the exact color I want but with the black interior!!!! Great review!!! Answered all my questions
Sara Excellent video. I wish you the best of luck.Really enjoyed also little suggestion pick up a custion for the seat and might help with the seats.I do this so keeps it a little protected by anything. Thanks so much for sharing Deb.👌💯
Hello, Sarah. You can cancel from Adaptive or keep in lane mode by pushing left handle up once. No need to step on breaks. Very happy with my Model 3. Have advanced autopilot package. Not FSD. Super easy on highways but on roads with construction you really have to pay attention especially if lanes marking is not there. As for home charging you can use portable charger you have with your car. Just have to get 220v line and get electrician to install oven/drier NEMA outlet. Your speed will jump to 47km/h. So basically you will charge over night and will have car ready to go every morning.
Thanks for this tip in 2024!
I’m just starting to research Tesla’s and this video is awesome 👏🏼. Thank you for this! Keep the Tesla videos coming!
Awesome detailed review !! U covered many things what we need to seep
Great, straightforward review. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Been waiting for this since you tweeted about it
OMG. The iPhone mini! Thank you for that because I have a mini and I would have never thought about this!!!!
This is the exact specs that I ordered. Model Y performance in midnight silver metallic and white seats. You did an amazing job with this video!
THIS IS LITERALLY MY DREAM CAR!
Loved this video. I can’t wait to get mine in September!
Holy crap Sara did it! Congrats!
5:24, she didn't even give him a second to respond😂😂
Nicely explained when it comes to autopilot. Technically it is applying lain assist and adaptive cruise control which is a feature available in almost all high end cars from other manufacturers.
First of all, I love your personality and you are absolutely gorgeous!!! Thank you for all this information, my hubby and I are looking into getting the Tesla Model Y with 7 seats, but I really wanted to know all the tech stuff and you did an amazing job of explaining it all! I also entered for a chance to win the Model 3
Great review. Love the garage, very cool. I think the fart info is now my best Tesla feature. LOL
I wear dark jeans every day. For my Model X white seats I use Isopropyl Alcohol in a spray bottle (recommended by Tesla) about every 6 months. If I want to scrub less, I just use a Magic Eraser dampened with Fantastic, Simple Green, etc. Works like a charm. I have 80,000 miles on my 2017 car and so far the Magic Eraser hasn't affected the performance of the seats/coating at all so don't worry about the Twitter comments.
Hey Sara. Great video. Good conversational style, and also nice to see a review that has more of a tech focus. I do have a couple of suggestions/constructive criticisms for you that I think will be helpful for your viewers, your battery, and your seats. The first is simply another cleaning suggestion for the white seats - baby wipes. The magic eraser seems to do the job, but I think the baby wipes would be a faster clean. The second is to please please please do some further research re: supercharging best practices. If you are running your battery to "20 or 30 miles", and then setting it above 90% at a supercharger on a regular basis, you are likely shortening the life of the most expensive part of your car. There are some really good videos about this, and I'm pretty sure Tesla will have some advice, as well. I can tell you really love your Model Y, so I hope these suggestions are helpful for you, and make your experience even better. Keep up the great work!
Awesome review, I ordered mine from Legacy West in Plano. Sadly, I still haven’t received it yet. Hopefully within the next 2 to 4 weeks. Can’t wait!! I ordered a red with white 20” wheel upgrade.
Sara! This video rules! Great work :)
Thanks Jesse!!!!

Should I waited for Biden's ev credit to be enacted. Maybe it's retroactive.
Umm… no.
thank you
I drive through that intersection in downtown Fort Worth at least once a week! Thanks for the video
4:45 I gotta call you out. "the gas" What? 😂😂😂
Really helpful video, Sara ! I’m in the market for a model Y so really appreciated your take on the Y. 👊🏻
Thanks for the feedback, hit me up directly I've got business strategy for you

God bless you for this video. It's so informative!
Amazing intro... Sara nailed this.
i knew you were in dfw now but you totally drove right by my house! and your new studio is down the street from mine in grapevine! totally cool. just fan-boying! welcome back to dfw
Why is Sarahs channel so underrated. Sutch good content great background music plus shes a geuine person.
Great review Sara!!! Stoked to be a Tesla owner soon 🚀👍🏽
My friend had this autopilot/ self braking/ lane assist feature on her 2016 civic. It's really quite impressive.
I kind of liked it more than I thought I did… most people would probably take a conventional car for long distance trips, which makes sense. For short and medium travel though, your Tesla is s perfect fit. Have fun and enjoy the drive!
Super satisfied with our 2021 Model 3. Tip: hitting the horn saves the video footage too. Like the white interior but choose the black for less clean up.
Installed a ClipperCreek 40A charger for the house.
Looks amazing 🔥 Big congrats!
Get a ppf for the back tire area! My paint has chipped/been eaten away like crazy from the NY salt roads this past winter. The white leather looks awesome! Congrats on the new ride!
Can also do mud flaps
@@dominicgomez7064 yep! Recently added some to mine
@@dominicgomez7064 just don't but the Tesla ones they are horrible
19:32 Ahh yes, the every '90s kid' doodle
You can go to Plano without using the toll roads - mainly 121 service road - depending on time of day it may take a little longer but better than paying the tolls
Picked up my Model Y AWD yesterday. NOT ONE panel gap, scratch or interior issue. Woohoo!
such a good review
you can nudge shift stalk upwards little bit to get out Autopilot as well (and I think it's better than tapping brake every time!)
Wow way cool, Sara! Would love to see a follow up vid about your thought's and feelings. I wanna hear how much you love the car but also all data annoying stuff! I mean, I am sure there are annoying things about that car.
Nice color combo!
Brilliant review Sara
The Tesla is so interesting. I really want one - just need the money first. It might never happen but you never know!!
Sara Dietschy; an excellent video: quality, informative & fun - I’ll also be getting long range, midnight silver & white config 😉 Quick question:
What’s the brand of wallet you used to prop up your iPhone?
Regarding the damaged rim situation. It's bound to happen when riding low profile tires, that's why I personally use "alloygator rim protectors" on my 265/35R21 Model S rims. Have saved me multiple times. European parking facilities isn't designed for wide American cars.
How's their susceptibility to coming off at high speeds? Intriguing product but I keep repetitively seeing online concerns that these things could fly off the rim (like on a highway) and cause even other/more damage than they originally were designed to prevent.
@@progression_decibel I’ve been using them since I got my Model S in 2014. They can be a bit hard to install, so I guess that’s the reason. I usually let my local tire shop install them when I change tires.
Wow! That quality from the GoPro Hero 9 😍
Excellent content. Thank you.
You can voice control the air vent direction, but you have to do some guessing to get the command right because Tesla has a lot of voice commands that are not documented.
Liked within 3 seconds, I knew this would be GOOD!!
@@BucNasty32 get a life.
Sara always does such a good job with the coverage. Did I miss the price part? The curse of working and youtube at the same time.
I love that lately your videos have been the length of a sitcom episode. It’s like a real chill ride :D
-
I’m not used to autopilot, so when you took your hands off the steering wheel, my heart skipped 2 beats 😅
So freaking cool thou 😆
So definitely need to get the full self driving for that Lane change thing
Great review!
I love the Apple shirt at 6:07. It's like a subtle, "Hey Elon, no CarPlay? C'mon...🤨"
Holy fingerprints, Batman
Yeah, I was surprised we could watch anything on that screen with all those prints.
Sara get those seats ceramic coated ASAP!!
Wow, that intro though 🔥 🔥 🔥
Great info! Thanks for sharing. Subscribing !
When you are in autopilot is your foot resting on the floor or on the pedal?
great job in cleaning the seats but rip for the tire chunk
22:00 you can go to a rim repair shop and they will restore it back to brand new for about $100 (NYC prices). My buddy did the same to his brand new Model Y.
I keep my Tesla at 80% I never charge it to 100% unless its a long road trip, per Tesla. I also got a long range, gotta have that long range. As you get more comfortable with the range you won't charge it as full, but I want to have that range for the battery health. I have silver rims and I have totally scuffed them up a zillion times lol
Ironic how "Peaches" was the first song that popped up for Sara for Justin Bieber! Cuz she rhymes with Peachy :)
A side note about the white seats...the white seats are actually cleaner than the black seats because you wipe them more often. I can assure you that the black transfer from your jeans would also be on the black seats, but because you don't see it, you don't wipe it.
woooooooowwww!!! out of all places you picked sikhay. appreciate the support of the community lol
Ok, you are always great. Please keep up the good work. Also to do some photo stuff while at home
Good stuff! Innovative intro!
