I have a 2004 yamaha 115 2 stroke and was running great all day. Then after sitting for a few minutes then going again it seems like it's not getting gas. Feels almost like it's going into limp mode but no alarms like when I had thermostat problems. Searching UA-cam for possible solution. Idles fine it's just when I'm almost to plane it loses power and gets that imp mode feeling until I take it back down to idle

Not sure what kind of fuel tank you have but it could be a check ball in the down tube in your fuel tank. Check both fuel filters. You should have 2 filters with water separators. Make sure that theres no water in the separatetors and the filters have been replaced. Next it could be a fuel pump issue. From there it could that your carbs are dirty. Also check spark plugs. Make sure it's fueling properly because if it's not then the engine isn't getting the lubrication that it needs and could cause damage to the engine. Put a fuel pressure gauge in between the carb and pump and see if it's getting pressure. And also put it before the pump and see if it's getting vacuum. You can pick up a pressure/ vacuum gauge at any auto parts store for less than $20. There is also a quick disconnect between the motor and the boat that has a check ball in it that could be stuck and restricting the flow of fuel. Also don't forget about the prime bulb. They can go bad and cause problems to9.

If it's 2 strokes, check you air fuel mixtures, if one is off or all of them then it's probably not getting enough lube to the cylinders. If you're running lean, then yes you're going to have temp troubles and the motor will slow

Folks, please don't ever spray starting fluid or carb cleaner in your carbs to try and start the engine or while it is running. There is a reason that oil is mixed with the gas, to lubricate the engine. When you spray the starting fluid or carb cleaner you are washing that away. I understand it is not as bad while you are running on the fuel/oil mixture. Still gonna do some harm and wash out lubrication. If you must spray something in the carbs, please purchase a spray bottle and mix some 50:1 gas and marine oil and use that to spray into the carbs. . . And, never use ethanol gas, always non-ethanol.

I feel his pain. I have a susuki 115 stroke giving me fits right now. Runs perfect when I'm in the yard messing with it. Put it in the water and your stranded. Get it back home and she'll for right up. I've threatened to sink it countless times. Lol.

Lol! We took it to Lake Kissimmee State Park this past weekend and it seems to be running great now! He has certainly had quite the project with this boat but I believe he's got it sorted now. I'll have to get him to do an update video. Thanks for watching and commenting!!
