Long time viewer of yours Sandro, love the fact that you never lose your integrity. You are my "go to" for product reviews as I can rely on your zero BS approach completely. Never change mate.
Once again you show that your way of testing is absolutely fantastic. The fact that you test products in your own ways gives another dimension. If everyone just followed the instructions on the bottles we would never find better ways to use the products. I understand that there are so many aspetcs in developement and promoting products. The developers have to find ways to apply them that are easy so that "everyone" can use them. This might compromize the behavior but still the product performs okay. With a little bit of tweaking you can obviously find more performance. Thank you for all the effort. That includes the testing itself, filming, editing and all the other work that are not shown such as prepearing and work to restore everything after. Well done.
Brilliant mate! The results were as expected I feel. Ultimate FF is a good sealant but not in the class if the other two. However I'd take FF over the other two simply because of its ease of use. You can reapply Ultimate FF every couple of months with ease and the can will last a dozen coats or more. It takes 5-10 minutes to do a large car and the results are more than acceptable, especially on my silver car. Great work Sandro!
The Fast Finish is the best because its applies in minutes and its dirt cheap . You can apply it once a month for a fraction of the price of the other products and get as good or better protection with a fraction of the effort. I've been using it for years. Its also the only product I use on my Mercedes designo matte paint, precisely because it is not shiny and has zero abrasives. On my other Mercedes vehicle with "normal paint" it maintains its shine perfectly, it keeps the paint looking showroom new. Note that I live in a climate with sub artic conditions where half the year the vehicle is constantly bombarded by salt, sand, ice and snow. I simply apply it twice a year fall and spring. If I see some degradation in water beading in between its simply another 10 minute application! Better yet you can apply it over any material with the same results. If there is any overspray simply wipe it off and done. Best product ever! If the paint is weathered to begin with you will need to use a regular waxing product to restore the paint previous to application since its only a ceramic sealer it has no other abrasives, fillers or waxes. I never have to go through that step since its the first thing I do when I buy a new car, thus the paint never gets weathered to begin with!
@@TheSantos173 CarPro is going to be releasing a product called release which can be used over their coatings to protect the coating during the curing time. It allows the car to be “released” within an hour after application.
I love fast finish. It's a paint sealant that works with everything I have tried. Once I get a car to the gloss I want with Polish and any wax, ceramic or even turtle wax hybrid or Ice. Then use ff every wash until the next time it needs wax again. It takes minutes and makes the whole car static charged to repel garage dust in a way others don't. One can last for a lot of applications. It does not add gloss or much slickness. Just seems to add another layer of dust protection and sheeting instead of beading. Sounds weird I know but it works.
I love that you put in time to analyse the products and word your analysis in a comprehensive and yet understandable manner. Also thanks for linking the products in your videos. I was unaware you could purchase them in Australia as a regular consumer as have never seen any products other than autoglym, meguiars, turtle wax and mothers at any of Aussie auto retailers.

Great comparison. Having used cancoat, I can say for a fact that I love the water behavior, but hate the lack of chemical resistance. Topped with Reload weekly, it let a bird mark etch my roof within a day in the Texas sun. Can't have that, need something that'll at least let me get home from the office to clean.
Wow that sucks man. Just bought a can so I am less than pleased to hear the chemical resistance is crap. Did it also wash off your car quickly ? How manu layers did you apply ?

As I imagine, it might be a failure at the installation than the performance itself. Prepping is key and also, all paints are real different one from another. Soft paints are more tend to be hitted than harders. Hope it helps

I was contemplating purchasing Lite to use instead of CanCoat which I already own & use. On the results from this review, I think I'll stick with CanCoat as out with durability (which is flawed as chemical resistance isn't a representation of durability) I can easily get 12+ months from CanCoat with better hydrophobicity, slickness & the same excellent gloss as Lite. Thanks for this excellent video Sandro, saved me a purchase 👍
Great comparison, thanks a lot for your work and effort! I have been using Meguiar's FF for one year now and applied it on 9 cars already. The can still contains approx. 20%, so a little really goes a long way. My experiences with FF are almost the same as your results here. Easy to use but you have to reapply it latest every 9-10 weeks and beading/sheeting are not as good as with other products. Greetings from Germany!
Excellent work! Appreciate all your effort. 🙏. Sonax BSD and TW Seal and shine vs Car Pro lite would be an interesting longevity comparison. Thnx. Again Sandro from the great white north !
Sandro - Gyeon say not to wash the car with detergents for 7 days after applying Cancoat. This is fairly standard for any coating, and would imagine CQuartz Lite similar. You're not just hitting with detergents, but strong APCs.. the test is at least fair but probably undersells what each are capable of withstanding.
Awesome video, personally I layer meguiars ceramic wax with fast finish as I find fast finish a pure wax without any filler properties. Thus with the ceramic wax, it does have filler properties. Those two products works well for my application.
Great video as always Sandro. I'm thinking about trying CQuartz Lite for my spring detail this year. I don't have a garage and do most of my detailing outside, so it would be very difficult to properly apply a full on ceramic coating (especially 2 or 3 coats). So having a product that is easier to apply with less cure time is definitely a bonus. I feel like for a full on detail with ceramic coating you almost need to put your car inside for a week. That's not possible for a lot of people.
Thanks, and it’s always ideal to have cover when applying a coating but you can still certainly do it out in the open, just make sure you’re not in direct sunlight and obviously try to do it when the weather behaves and it’s not going to be raining.

I always tell my clients to wait 2 weeks after I apply a Ceramic Coating. This way you are sure that they won’t destroyed it. Best Car Detailing Chanel on youtube . Thanks for effort mate . The idea of applying with coating block is brilliant . I wonder if it works with hybrid ceramic wax spreys ?
Appreciate that mate, and many ceramic spray waxes/sealants can instantly flash so on that case they could streak if they aren’t immediately wiped on and off so it mainly depends on how fast they bond and flash.
Thanks for producing more of these great comparison tests. The quality of your video and the good lighting make it easy to see the differences on the test panels. Do you have any observations regarding what coating or sealant is more resistant to hard water spots?
Excellent video mate. Im currently deciding between Lite and CanCoat for one of my vehicle 👍 Very interesting to note the improvement with cancoat when applied like a ceramic coating, and the extended curing time between both products
Sandro's reviews are just 👌 Thank you! If you use a maintenance product or some other topper then I'm thinking that hydrophobicity and slickness aren't so important on the base layer (as the topper provides those) - it's the durability and (visual appeal) you want in that case. Of all the lightweight ceramic coatings I reckon Cquartz Lite appears to offer the best chances of making the year-long mark (perhaps with the help of Reload or Gyeon Cure), and with great looks to boot. The wipe-on-wipe-off application looks like a doddle and I imagine that any difference in speed compared with a spray is more than made up for with the extra months of protection before you have to reapply (including all the prep that goes along with it).
Great video. I like both CanCoat and CQ Lite. You hit it right on the head with the durability of Lite just edging out CanCoat as I have seen the same in real world comparison. As much as I like the spray on application of CanCoat I still find better performance applying it with a microfiber applicator. Probably because it goes on a little thicker. It sure does look great as a topper over any other coating.
Thanks for this great comparison. Used both cancoat (motor bike)and lite (car) recently and share your experiences. Prefer lite, but that is personal. Both have good results for similar prices (both around 50EUR in the Netherlands). Looking forward to your next review👍
Gyeon Can Coat had been around for awhile, the performance doesn't surprise me. But I am genuinely interested with the CQuartz Lite, it's also cheaper than Can Coat over here. Looks good, quite durable and also cheaper, amazing product.
Great review as usual. It's great to test things the Aussie way. I also think Meguiar's was going to discontinue fast finish at one point. If you could, I'd like to see more tests of Aussie products, mint and bowdens, vs the bigger brands like Meguiar's and CarPro. Reset vs Nanolicious vs hyperwash for example. Megs new ceramic detailer vs CarPro elixir etc
Car Craft Auto Detailing, I’m looking at Gloss Coat, TW SnS, or Carpro Lite for when winter gets here. Plenty of snow, ice, salt. I’ll definitely keep an eye on my notifications.
Great vid yet again. Interesting about the cure time. I have used Can coat and I have been very impressed with it. It obviously broke down eventually after using Car Pro x on it . Shows how good that one is. I used some can coat on top of EVO as maintenance on sections affected by those water spots from the dust storm in January. Water beads like mad and everyone comments how glossy it looks. This was a great comparison. I have ordered NV Jet & Lustre. I wonder how these stack up against Can coat???? And as a maintenance topper for my EVO coat, would you use jet, lustre, both or stick to Boost???? Again these are top-grade products and as it shows, flash marketing can really mask the true potential of a product like here.
Hey bro. I'm a Fan of your work I have been watching all your videos since I found them on UA-cam. Haven you thought of doing a Gyeon vs Carpro comparative? They have pretty similar products. Only that gyeon has many coats that I don't know how would they exactly compare but I guess its going to be something like ECHO2 vs Bath, One vs Cquartz Mohs vs Cquartz uk, reload vs cure, prep vs eraser, elixir vs quick detailer, iron vs iron x.. The polishes and compound. It would be pretty interesting as they have also similar prices and they are direct competition.
Thanks mate, and although I haven’t done a full brand comparison between them I have a few video reviews comparing some products like Wet vs Hydro2 and Cure vs Reload but hopefully I’ll have a few more down the track!
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing thanks for the reply bro. Outstanding work you do. One of the of the best around here. Would have like to see Fusso coat in this test, although paste wax format, it is a sealant and it does claim better durability and cheaper than all of these products.
Great video.. I'm a total rookie (I didn't even know what a ceramic coating was until I saw a pop-up ad in August 2021 and I've been going down that rabbit whole ever since) that has only used Meguiar's hybrid ceramic spray in the blue bottle, which, after screwing up a couple times (I let my cloth get saturated and it wasn't wiping it up so it caused streaks - it took me a bit to figure that out, but I believe I've solved that issue), I've come to really like it as a product. Here's my question, Sandro... assuming all the prep is done right, etc, what is the functional difference between getting a professional high-end ceramic coating job at the detail place (or even using higher priced stuff like CQuartz) compared to, say, putting on multiple coats of the hybrid spray on, and then touching it up with a new coat at the beginning of each month (other than it's just more work, of course)?
The first thing to point out is that there is no right or wrong which ever direction you take. But I think your question is really what’s the difference between a good water based lower content hybrid coating like HCW wax and a good full strength high content solvent based true ceramic coating. The true coating will have a hardness that can to a greater level resist swirls and even minimise the severity of deeper scratches. It’s really the first layer of any coating or sealant that creates that strong bond to the paint, and a true coating is able to lay down and bond to much thicker degree compared to a hybrid sealant, which means things like not only greater durability, but also greater environmental resistance, UV protection and arguably greater levels of gloss, depth and saturation. So although layering can help, 2nd, 3rd and continuous top costs are never going to being as strongly or last as long as the foundation layer directly to the paint and the better foundation layer you have the better protection form the elements it provides. I’ve also found that although true coatings are still quite susceptible to water spots, bug and pop etchings, they tend to be contained within the coating rather that penetrate to the clear coat as easily as they would with a sealant or hybrid coating. Like I said, there’s no right or wrong, but for someone like me whose be doing this long enough to remember a time before synthetic sealants and before Nano based silica technology, it’s really amazing how far paint protection has come!
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Thank you, Sandro... so just to clarify... in your experience, the true ceramic coating a year in or whatever with nothing more than regular soap washings is still protecting better than the HCW, even if the HCW is getting regularly touched up?
You can’t really assess and compare a fresh layer of a sealant with a year old coating. The question should be whether after applying a coating, the paint is in better condition after a year compared to applying a sealant serval times within that same year. I’d still tend to say that the coating is going to provide better protection and look after the clear coat a little better, though a fresh layer of a sealant may or may not perform better straight after application. You can think of it this way: is it better to buy a single pair of shoes that are durable, comfortable and look after your feet for a whole year, or is it better to buy several more affordable pairs within that same year that cost you no more and initially look and feel great but just don’t last as long. There’s no right or wrong answer, just a preference 🙂
@@thomasemerson7257 I’m an enthusiast detailer and have Cquartz UK 3.0 on my daily driver. I maintain it with various SiO2 based spray toppers. It’s been 18 months and still going strong. I even left a high-spot when I first applied it, and yep…that high spot is still there like it was on day one. I have another car that has a “light” ceramic coating (TACsystem One Step Master), sits outside, but isn’t driven or washed as much. And guess what, it looks phenomenal when washed. However, it’s probably more a testament to the polishing job I gave it before the coding. It doesn’t feed water all over like it used to. I will be polishing it again soon and applying a longer-term coating, like CarPro SiC.
Great overview on these well known products. I am about To use quartz lite on my new charger. I also bought reload. Would you wait a few days to apply this topper after your test showed 48 hour cure time or apply 1 hour after as instructed by car pro website?

Here in the US you can get Fast Finish for less than $10 USD($14 Australian) at many places, was shocked to see it at $50 Australian($35 USD) which is way too high a price! Cheers for the review, any chance you'll be looking into a graphene coating such as Ethos Graphene Matrix?

Has anyone used this with the small suede clothes and seen how hard the cloth gets once it's dried? In other videos I've seen Sandro show that the cloth gets almost stiff with cquartz UK as a possible indicator of how the coating works as a protective layer. So I'm wondering if the lite version does a similar thing.
The paint has to be perfect and even polished for the coating to hold and work properly... My cancoat holded up over 1 1/2 year on a daily driven car without garage. I did not applied any stuff afterwards. Using a block is just a waste of time and thats not what cancoat is meant to be used.

Whoa coatings can become tinted? That's gross. My paint is black so I would not see it anyway
I have Cquartz Lite, but I always grab Moonlight by TACsystem. I do like the titanium aspect of Lite, however. 🌟
Thanks for this video, Sandro.
Excellent comparison thank you so much.
Do you think you’ll be doing any kind of a comparison with graphene coatings versus SiO2?
Great video. I use megs ff to protect leather and have used it on exterior painted finishes which did not seem to hold up as long as I expected
I think a good replacement for fast finish would have been sonax polymer net shield, To compare with the other two
Like, I did, Subscribed of course, and comment.
No nonsense not paid for product reviews! And Sandro's own opinions. 👌
Great review...well done as usual
Thanks for producing more of these great comparison tests. The quality of your video and the good lighting make it easy to see the differences on the test panels. Do you have any observations regarding what coating or sealant is more resistant to hard water spots?
Appreciate your honesty another great video
Excellent video mate. Im currently deciding between Lite and CanCoat for one of my vehicle 👍 Very interesting to note the improvement with cancoat when applied like a ceramic coating, and the extended curing time between both products
Which one did you go with? Any feedback?
@@AllenJun neither yet, been busy with 2 kids. I think i will go with Gyeon though
7:08 satisfying to watch
Great Video as always
i hope you can do a video on CarPro Essence+ and how to Revive an old Coat and extend the life of it
Thanks .
Great video and superb advice as usual.
Great test! Thanks so much. Fresh Can coat drops water like crazy
Thanks! Should you maybe do a reset wash after multix, as some residue could be left behind!
Thank you for the hard work. It is much appreciated.
Thank you for this informative and detailed video! 👍
Fabulous great work man!
Another great video Mate.. Thanks..!
Thanks for this great comparison. Used both cancoat (motor bike)and lite (car) recently and share your experiences. Prefer lite, but that is personal. Both have good results for similar prices (both around 50EUR in the Netherlands). Looking forward to your next review👍
Another great comparison video. Thanks for the extra testing and time (using different cure times). It IS appreciated
Gyeon Can Coat had been around for awhile, the performance doesn't surprise me. But I am genuinely interested with the CQuartz Lite, it's also cheaper than Can Coat over here. Looks good, quite durable and also cheaper, amazing product.
Great job and effort. Respect
Really enjoyed this video Sandro, I forgot I have a can of Fast Finish in my garage, I'll use it on an upcoming job 👍
I feel like they are doing that....I wish they wouldn't haha
Great video mate as usual, I was considering optimum gloss coat, any knowledge of that product?? What do ya reckon
I'm going to check them out since they are into a really tight competition and it's a doubt I have had for a while.. I believe Gyeon has more of ceramics than Carpro and it would be interesting that the tests are done with and by your expertise. Take the idea! I bet both companys would be interested. Cheers
Great video Sandro and abnormous job!!! Hug3 thanks for this comparison, your knowledge and what is most important - your thoughts! I jave two layers of CQ UK 3.0, covered by CQ Lite and topped up by Reload, which I re-apply every 3-4 months depends on. Happy with the result and look. Cheers.
Great information. Thank you!
I use can coat applied with a sponge applicator, brilliant stuff. Top up with wet coat every 4 washes. I also use gyeon quick detailer every wash and the gloss level is fantastic.
thanx again for such a great review as always you put in alot of time and effort in your videos :)
Awesome video thank you!
always love these 3 comparison videos! :D looks like i'm trying carpros lite for my next protection. Thanks!
Always superb video. Thanks for your time
I feel so sorry for you, forever you could get the Fast Finish Meguiairs on Amazon here in the US for $9 that AUD pricing is nuts.
Great Video! Would like to see a follow up video on the best entry level Ceramic Spray Coating product line up 1 year durability claims head to head for 2020 with hydrophobic properties!! Keep videos coming!
Would you say Cquartz Lite is prone to water spotting? I had problem with Gtechniq coatings in the past. ps. That's what I call proper review!
I would guess that it’s more or less as prone to other coatings on this area.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing thank you... that's a good analogy... I appreciate it. I'm sure I'll have more questions along the way.
Here in the USA Fast finish had been discontinued. Wondering what replaced it.
Wow wasn't aware that it had been discontinued. I wonder why that is.
i'm hyped :)
Great overview on these well known products. I am about
To use quartz lite on my new charger. I also bought reload. Would you wait a few days to apply this topper after your test showed 48 hour cure time or apply 1 hour after as instructed by car pro website?
Car Craft Auto Detailing Thanks for the info. Should I wash the car down with reset to be safe on the application of reload
Really great video, the curing time is interesting. What are your thoughts on cure time if it rains within those times? UK based, hence the question!
It would be great to see you put tac systems moonlight against cquartz lite
Jay G Moonlight is great, only a 4 hr drive-away time. Customer loves it on his 911 Carrera. He tops it with TLC2 and the results are fantastic. Best low cost combo yet.
How did you apply can coat to the coating block? Sprayer or straight from the can.
Car Craft Auto Detailing ????
Car Craft Auto Detailing thank you!
super quality content
Great video Sandro....quick question....for your everyday detailing needs would you go with the Rupes Mille 900e or LHR 15 MKIII and why?😀
At first I was confused why you compared Fast Finish to these two lightweight ceramics.
Have you done a comparison with tac systems moonlight??
If so what are your thoughts??
Great video as usual Sandro! I wanted to see how Can Coat and CQ Lite compared. I really am liking CQ Lite
i put the can coat in my car before 8 months and still keeps going. it's really amazing chemical. i wasn't expecting that it will last that much...
Would adding something like p & s Beadmaker every other maintenance wash (once a week hand wash) be a good idea on top of pro car lite? A friend wants to know.
Maybe just send your friend the link to this video as I tested BM over a coating in that video:
ua-cam.com/video/DtAmyq3v5_k/v-deo.html
Carpro cquartz lit sold in my please but reload is Every time Sold out so which is the best topper Turtla wax seal and shine and turtla Wax hybrid spray ceramic coating
Akshay Patel don't use Seal and Shine. I use Bathe + on top of my Can Coat. I also have experimented with Wet Coat as a topper on TAC Moonlight which works really well.
Very good video and test
Great tips on curing time. what temp did you use it in ? just curious how to corelate :)
I can specifically remember as it was over a year ago but looking at the date being over Autumn in Melbourne I’d say approximately 20 degrees Celsius was give or take right.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing thank. it gives a good indication :)
May the curing time on the cqlite be due to not being sprayed on by reload after aplication? Greetings
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing yeah, so you can use the car instantly i guess? P.s. have you tried how the cqlite reacts to other sprayons like megs hybrid ceramics or so?
Greetings
Anyone done fast finish vs turtle wax hybrid ceramic. Been pretty happy with the hybrid ceramic wax my self. But want to put on a stronger base coat and the just top it every once I a while
Never one to disappoint and excellent review as usual. Thanks for your efforts.......man detailers use a lot of water....:)
How about a test of Gtechniq crystal serum light
Really apreciate !
Using a block is just a waste of time and thats not what cancoat is meant to be used.
which of the 3 products is the best?
fast finish is better
Thanks
