A lot of my ember tetras died within 8 months, a lot of them developed melanoma. Black dots that slowly grow and spread inside the fish. Hopefully, your fish came from better stock, I got mine from liveaquaria.
They are very good at shoaling or schooling fish and were awesome. I absolutely loved their collective personalities and they quickly warmed up to my presence. They did spawn for me and I did have fry, but the fry were eaten by my former betta imbellis.

I am sure your betta was very happy with getting live food. They are fun little fish to keep. After few days they got used to me and now they attack food like little piranhas.

@@The_Sovereign_of_Dawn Next one is Apistogramma. It was an impulse buy haha. In only ship in the area, lets call it a fish shop that is 2 hours away from me were they usually only keep goldfish, was a single Apistogramma. The fish was listed as Agassizii Mix. But after I bought the fish and the fish colored up, looks like its a female Cacatuoides.
