I work in auto claims and story about Jackie’s car was interesting. It’s a comprehensive claim and yes it’s more than likely totaled. I recommend only using the shops your insurance provider recommends. I see wayyyy too many people take their veh to local shops and they end up with out of pocket charges
I work claims also, but unless there is body damage I would have had this moved to a mechanical shop or dealer as well.Gerber doesn't do what this car needed, depending on year I would have pushed move it salvage (IAA or Copart, where I work we use IAA)

Woody, as someone who works in the collision industry, specifically at a dealer body shop. We do not determine if it is totaled. We send the information to the insurance company and then they mwke the determination of if it is totaled or not.
