When I see John Bonham, my heart aches with pain. I feel so sorry that this great musician burned out from alcohol at the peak of his fame and didn't continue his career as a magnificent drummer. Even to this day, I rarely come across drummers of his caliber. There is no doubt that Bonham made Led Zeppelin unique; his contribution to Led Zeppelin's music was immense. I'd love to see the great ones alive as long as possible.
Every single time I listen to music, I think, "oh, their drummer is pretty good. Not Bonzo good, but pretty good.". He has always been the one that I gauge every other drummer by. Truly an amazing musician. Sounds like he's been playing drums for a million years. Love him so much

This is what you get when 4 young, incredibly talented musicians come together and try to keep up with one another, all while trying to outperform the others. This shit never fails to mesmerize me, no matter how many times I hear it.
I like the Kinks man. Sort of been discovering them in more depth. The more I hear the more I'm in awe. I can't really explain it. They're a piece of the puzzle that goes unnoticed at times. They just do what they do without the grandeur if you know what I mean. The talent is completely obvious to me now but not so much in the past. Getting older has some perks - not many but some.
...when the singer still had his voice, the drummer still had his life, the guitarplayer wasn't on drugs and the bassplayer was who he always was and would be.... Wish I had been there..
Led Zeppelin might not be as beloved as other bands like Queen, The Beatles and Bowie in pop culture but I feel like those of us who play instruments or sing/performance understand how brilliant Zep were musically.
I was so fortunate to have been a teenager during this most remarkable period of music history. 71 years of age now and it still takes me to some other dimension. My God, these four young men were each so very gifted and enmeshed with one another when performing. Watching this is a joy for me Every. Single. Time.
I just absolutely love the level of art and creativity they have in their music, both the studio and live versions. They just weren't satisfied with "good", they pushed for the extraordinary!
Every time I listen to Dazed and Confused (live or studio version), I think "Ok, Led Zeppelin are the best band of all time!". I love when Jimmy Page plays guitar with violin bow! I play electric guitar and Jimmy is the reason I started to play. So...LOVE AND DEVOTION FOREVER!!!💗💗💗💗💗💗💗.
This Mama took her daughter on a car ride in 1998 and said, "Now you're going to know about great music". Mama told her about her first live concert, in 1972. Led Zeppelin, in Amsterdam; played their soundtracks, along with Jimi, Pink Floyd...keep going.. Lo, the child said, "Mom! Your generation had the best music!"
I wouldn't say that. Not only because bands like Led Zep are still popular but we have bands like Greta Van Fleet that can pack stadiums still. Granted some consider them a Zep ripoff if you really listen to them will realize they have come into their own and their live shows demonstrate this. Bottom line is times change and what was popular then is not going to be as popular now but the fact is the influence is still there and as long as young kids dream of being on stage kicking butt with loud electric guitars it will always be a thing that no matter how much some claim it is dead, it lives on regardless.
No music in the world will ever sound like this again, led Zeppelin is in a class all of their own that's why the younger kids of today love them and so will future generations come to appreciate them. They are the Lords of music

Try adjusting your seat up to where your knee has about a 100° to 120° bend instead of a 90° or less. Tighten the springs on the pedal to where you get a really good recoil. Then play the pedal closer to the hinge than most people do. You might think, well that's just going to make the pedal harder to press and it'll be more tiring. Well, it will make the pedal harder to press, but the recoil of pedal will lift your leg up and reduce the effort there. Our legs have a lot more strength in stepping down, than lifting up. Kinda like an alligators mouth, plenty of chomp down strength, but very little for opening the mouth. Anyway, that's how I used accomplish triplets, quadruplets, and plain outright continuous rolls for long periods of time where most people would just assume I should be getting fatigued. I suppose one could call it the Kung Fu bass drum method. In kung fu, some moves are designed to use your opponent's energies to your advantage and to their disadvantage. Any,way, experiment with variations of those parameters and see if you can find a sweet spot where you feel like you can do a lot more with a bass drum.

11:08 is by far one of my favorite shots of these 4 gods. Just look at each one individually super engaged and flowing like water. I’m obsessed with this concert as JPJ and Bonham are holding down the rhythm and Jimmy and Robert plant are just challenging each other and I love it.
you are so right thanks for the time stamp
John. Fucking. Bonham. 21 yrs old on this gig. It’s just incomprehensible.
21?????
And Mr Plant best rock singer and screaming of all times 🎉
There have been precious few people who have been graced with the ability to scream in tune.
Robert Plant is one of the few.
I love the vocals of the Golden God of Rock. ❤
No doubt
He knew the band was going nowhere, that's the problem. It's not the 70s anymore.
Every single time I listen to music, I think, "oh, their drummer is pretty good. Not Bonzo good, but pretty good.". He has always been the one that I gauge every other drummer by. Truly an amazing musician. Sounds like he's been playing drums for a million years. Love him so much
@@StaceyWatson-e2q Same thing with me
..that guitar tone is the essence that defines rock and roll! Bass and drums are an absolute powerhouse. Glad I got to see them, Auckland 1972.
@@onlyNtimE ..hey smart guy, Robert Plant visited his aunt here in New Zealand, while he was on tour here and Australia. What say I get that 1942, and jam it up your nose, loser.
wow lucky you the australia/new zealand tour of 72 was one of their best imo.
Seen the original group in 75 rock on

Guess jewels knows plant personally !?
I have never clicked on a youtube notification this fast
Led Zep is on another level of musical freedom with a groove that a lot of rock bands wish they had. Slightly chaotic without ever losing the beat.
they stole a lot

I’ll be 69 years old on May 10th
I remember listening to this song and band when I was just a teenager!
I love it and them just as much today as I did back in the day.
This is the Real Deal folks!
Pure genius talent 🎸❤️🎶💙🎶💙
Wow I heard them in 1970 and been Dazed and Confused ever since I’ll be 69 May-9-2025
JPJ’s bass at first is absolutely mesmerising, this song is a set of surrealism! Zeppelin will never be overcome!
What is the meaning of life? This song will take you there!
How did Bonzo's arms ever keep up with Jimmy? The stamina needed for all these guys is amazing.
...when the singer still had his voice, the drummer still had his life, the guitarplayer wasn't on drugs and the bassplayer was who he always was and would be....
Wish I had been there..
Led Zeppelin might not be as beloved as other bands like Queen, The Beatles and Bowie in pop culture but I feel like those of us who play instruments or sing/performance understand how brilliant Zep were musically.
Led Zeppelin is for ears who understand music. Pop culture is more for people who doesn't know shit about it.
I'd never learned to play an instrument unfortunately, but I feel the emotional way of their communication.
Best live recording no fireworks, light show nothing but raw and pure music heaven
Plant and Page didn't swagger as much....focus was on the music....JPJ and Bonham perfect together
I was so fortunate to have been a teenager during this most remarkable period of music history. 71 years of age now and it still takes me to some other dimension. My God, these four young men were each so very gifted and enmeshed with one another when performing. Watching this is a joy for me
Every. Single.
@Jimmy Page Hello, I'm fine, thanks
@Jimmy Page yes, I'm very surprised!
@Jimmy Page I'm writing from Italy
62 year old woman, and still totally in love. Best decade ever for amazing music. Love from Denmark 🥰🇩🇰
The same for me - we've got the best music ❤
Same,just the best
73yrs old Sicilian living in the UK, also totally blown away by their performance 🎸🎵👍🏻 love to all Zeppelin fans all around the world, from the UK 🤘🏼
Its hard to comprehend how they were so damn good
The young of today will never know what great music and talent sounds like.🤘👌
what do you mean, they have taylor swift...
Exactly 🤣
@@ingridredfern5065 recently asked a 17yr old swifty what it was that was so interesting, didn't really get a clear answer..
Oh I wonder why 🤔
I wouldn't say that. Not only because bands like Led Zep are still popular but we have bands like Greta Van Fleet that can pack stadiums still. Granted some consider them a Zep ripoff if you really listen to them will realize they have come into their own and their live shows demonstrate this.
Bottom line is times change and what was popular then is not going to be as popular now but the fact is the influence is still there and as long as young kids dream of being on stage kicking butt with loud electric guitars it will always be a thing that no matter how much some claim it is dead, it lives on regardless.
It doesn't fucking matter what your age is, Just tell us (and them) how much you enjoy this.
The ad that was put in the middle of this masterpiece is a CRIME
Thank you for warning me before I get to it so I can call the music police to report the CRIME.

The tone in Jimmy's playing is of the gods
That bass playing is monumental !
No music in the world will ever sound like this again, led Zeppelin is in a class all of their own that's why the younger kids of today love them and so will future generations come to appreciate them. They are the Lords of music
Greta Van Fleet :)
@@lynefl2032 I saw an interview with Robert Plant and he said to listen to an upland coming band called Greta Van Fleet. Mind you, that was a few years ago.

11:45 dark improvisation and Plant accompanying vocally exquisite with the terrible base of Bonham and infernal JPJ !!! (Observe the screams of "MAMA" from plant to setback or against compass ... beauty !!)
12:10 The last rise of the song begins ... boham began to ring the cowbell (as if he warned that the train is coming)
12:30 docking your exquisite guitar from JIMMY !!
12:38 the super descent to all that improvisation storm !!! (watch all that speed and energy as they descend)
12:46 Bonham !!
13:08 (the part that I like the most about the song !!) .... (Plant) how can we stop all this speed and energy in just 5 seconds ?? .. (JIMMY) leave it to me, I'll do it !!
13:15 Bonham puts the end to it with that huge hit to his drum kit !!!
13:44 the topic could end there perfectly !! but what happens is that they are LED ZEPPELIN ... AND IN THEIR BEST MOMENT and they give us another beautiful improvisation !! TALENTED GENIUSES
14:14 delicious !!!
14:48 mom ... mom ... magic ROBERT !!!
15:10 the final sacred cry and the end to all Zeppilian magic !!!!
15:30 the public bursts their hands clapping ... it is the least they can do ... they have just witnessed something very historic .. rarely will it happen again !!!

You're legend.
This is the difference between Classic Rock and todays rock. Classic Rock is an experience for the senses. Todays rock just doesn't have that. I'll take this all day and night.
decadent, blues, rock, greatest guitarist. drummer, bass/keyboards and what a wailing voice, pure bliss!
I grew up on this and it wasn't until later I realized it was blues and I was a blues fan. Thank you Led Zeppelin for introducing me to the blues
Also thank you for visiting Atlanta and being the first concert I attended.
There's something really really sexy about how in this version, his voice goes lower when he delivers the line "soul of a woman was created below". Just...unf...yes...🥵

This version really packs a punch. The jam at the end is legendary. Incredible for being over 50 years old!
It was not that long ago that real music was being made. And, though it was 50 years ago, it still sounds absolutely astounding to me. Wonderful posting. Thanks.

@@thekarmafarmer608 Oh well there's a difference between what could be meant by "real" and "good" music, hence why I asked
"Dazed and Confused" is a song written by American singer-songwriter Jake Holmes in 1967
I was 13 years old when this concert occurred. I went through high school with Led Zeppelin playing in the background. It was one song after another, always hits. It was part of our lives.
Dear God, Thank you so much for blessing me and my generation with this band of music creators forever and eternity. Like it came straight out of heaven. I hope we will all hear them again in your Kingdom playing for Your pleasure ! Cant wait to climb that STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN.

As a drummer, I’m crying for Bonham in that bridge section. Not for his arms. But for his bass foot. My Lord after I play that section, for a small bit of time I’m slurred. Thank you Bonzo🤙🏿
He was as talented as there will ever be a beast with those sticks
@@davidmoore8704 you know what, thank you I’ll try that. I’ll let you know how that works for me
