I don't know how to explain it, but at the end of the day, I will always come back to this song, there is a sentence that says you can't quantify beauty, maybe it's something inside the mind, maybe it's life, it's all together, what's left for us is just to besiege the moment, Because we will never see it again!
Suggestion from a geezer. This doesn't work for UA-cam, but do it anyway. Put some good headphones on, lie on your back, close your eyes, and listen to this song. The music penetrates in a whole different way when there's no visual. That's how we mostly listened to music back then, before the music video came along.
I did that for so many years, so now I’m enjoying the visuals. I never got the chance to see them in concert, the closest was the movie when it came out. I’m enjoying the UA-cam videos, & I’ve rewatched the movie, & watched Earls Court & Knebworth concerts.
Es que.. saben..? Ellos cuando actuaban, en el escenario, cantaban y tocaban CON EL ALMA, Y EL CORAZÓN.. Y eso se notaba cuando los veías.. Eso ya no se ve, hace años..
I’m 62 years old. I’m so glad Jimi Page was timed perfectly for me so I could experience the artistry he possesses. I have played guitar all my life and he gave me permission to make mistakes, yet play with enough passion to wrench the soul.
The pinnacle of the genre, RIP J Bohnan, never it's enough on the table to recognize JP Jones, humble guy but carefully he's the salt of the band,Jimmy couldn't been so great without that background.
Yeah because the people who become famous these days don't really love the music and alo they use the drugs to expose their ego even more instead of reaching a higher level of perception.
I didn't say that using drugs is something new. I said that the old bands used drugs to make awesome music. In today's music there is nothing awesome-with a few exceptions and those exceptions coming from people who are not famous at all.
It really doesn't get better than this. Insane. Insane. Insane. Brings tears to my eyes. Why? Because it's too amazing. My father loved them, I love them, my son will love them. RIP to Bonzo. The best band, to ever walk the earth. I came back to this one, and you will too. Salute to all of you drinking beer listening to this tearing up. I do it often.
I am so lucky to have been a teen in the 70s, what with the mighty Zeppelin on the radio. Even more lucky to have seen them live, at the last US concert, July 1977. After that, Robert lost his son, and the tour was cancelled. In the stadium in Oakland CA, it was hard to really hear anything, but I was glad to be at the same latitude and longitude as my heroes. Nice to see them being heard by a new generation, and generations ahead.
I first watched this concert in its entirety while blasted out of my mind on uppers. I’ll never forget the indelible impression it left on me. I simply could not believe what I had just watched and heard.
SUPERHUMAN drumming. The grooves, precision, and power(specially on the snare and bass) are unrivaled. Truly THE GREATEST rock drummer, without question.
@@joseandrada264 That's right, & when he passed away, they got together to talk about it, but they did not even have a discussion, they just knew that it was over, Zeppelin had to be these 4 musicians, but if any one of them had passed away, then they would have split up, none of them could have been replaced, the stars were aligned when they got together, & if you tried to replace any of them, then it would not have been Zeppelin, J.P.J. was a classically trained musician, who, along with Jimmy was a sessions musician, in the 60,s & Bonham, & Plant had played in 7/8 different bands in the mid 60,s, & were really good friends, they were ALL master musicians, in their own field, NO band is ever going to top trump Zepellin, they were the best band ever.
My Grandad was in a band with him Bonham before his Led Zep days. Somehow it took 23 years for him to tell me he was once close friends with the Greatest drummer around...🤣
I'm amazed at Jimmy's chord vocabulary and how coherently it all flows and how nicely it ends. You don't get many guitarists really stepping out and playing that freely anymore...
“Chord vocabulary” wow I’ve been searching for the right word to describe how Page makes his guitar speak. I’ve never heard that term before. I used to say that he is just making love to his guitar. So awesome. Now is there a word for the way Robert Plant and Eddie Veder use their voices as an instrument?
@@thetalisman963 I first thought of that term when I saw Ry Cooder live (with Nick Lowe on bass and his son Joachim on drums). It was like if music was a language, he was just so much more fluent than everyone else. He knew SO many chord shapes, voicings, tunings etc etc. It was quite amazing, he barely seemed to repeat ANY phrase. It adds so much richness to the music and he makes it look so simple. I never appreciated it until I saw his fingers in real life. When you think how many guitarists repeat the same chord shapes it really makes him stand out... and Page is the same, a real student of the instrument and not a dabbler. About Plant I once heard him say in an interview that all he did was let the music take him haha which is a totally different approach but worked obviously.
C'est le plus beau slow ,que je connaisse, il me donne envie de prendre une femme dans mes bras et de lui dire des mots d'une infinie tendresse.. vous êtes belles les filles mais parfois pas trop généreuses
The rift Page puts down that syncs perfectly with Plant’s singing at 3:14 is fucking incredible. Just runs it down the line. Then hits that long drawn out note right after. So good!! Little subtleties like that is just one of the many things that made them the best.
@@TB2798 Page used his guitar to literally sing with plant, with the same expression and emotion that plant put out, and then he just amplifies it with the most incredible solo ever performed. But its the way he sustains and lets the chords ring out at 5:46 that gives me the chills every single time. Bonham also slows the beat and its only in this performance that you hear them do that. just incredible

I don't know how to explain it, but at the end of the day, I will always come back to this song, there is a sentence that says you can't quantify beauty, maybe it's something inside the mind, maybe it's life, it's all together, what's left for us is just to besiege the moment, Because we will never see it again!
The greatest guitar live performance ever and no one could ever beat this.
Oh I donno. There is SRV and Jimmy, Steve Vai .. others
Favorite song from my favorite band at my favorite live concert of their's. It doesn't get any better than this.
I hate you!
Good fucking luck ever getting better than this at this pace.
@@TranceSFX Thanks!
its a cover
@@michaelrothstein1563 no it isn't.
This band has way too many GOOD SONGS, GOD BLESS them for making these songs to entertain the rest of us.
JIMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is one of Jimmy Page's best of all time, I love this masterpiece.
Best blues song period
One of the best live performances ever
ethereal guitar playing, some of the best live improvisation ever recorded
Even today, this is one of the best live performances ever! Talk about setting the bar over 50 years ago?!!?
Suggestion from a geezer. This doesn't work for UA-cam, but do it anyway. Put some good headphones on, lie on your back, close your eyes, and listen to this song. The music penetrates in a whole different way when there's no visual. That's how we mostly listened to music back then, before the music video came along.
I did that for so many years, so now I’m enjoying the visuals. I never got the chance to see them in concert, the closest was the movie when it came out. I’m enjoying the UA-cam videos, & I’ve rewatched the movie, & watched Earls Court & Knebworth concerts.
Pull it up on your TV. Turn the beats up and dim the lights. Whiskey and woman a nice add on.
@sicotshit7068, Mayor, your comment, good suggestion! music should be appreciated as art and not as a product!
Jimmy was a master of emotional dynamics- truly one of a kind. Nothing like Zep doing the blues.

Nothing can ever beat this version of this song. The way they all play, the emotion, the feeling.
❤ Incredible performance Plant is just amazing 👏
Es que.. saben..?
Ellos cuando actuaban, en el escenario, cantaban y tocaban CON EL ALMA, Y EL CORAZÓN..
Y eso se notaba cuando los veías..
Eso ya no se ve, hace años..

The man is a genuis at solos!! You watching page in 73 at the top of his game!!
I’m 62 years old. I’m so glad Jimi Page was timed perfectly for me so I could experience the artistry he possesses. I have played guitar all my life and he gave me permission to make mistakes, yet play with enough passion to wrench the soul.
Best advice for musicians ever❤
When rock n roll giants walked the earth. The 70's.
Never to be duplicated! Amazing times.
Truth...but who could relate
SO SO TRUE, I was just thinking the same before seeing your comment.
The pinnacle of the genre, RIP J Bohnan, never it's enough on the table to recognize JP Jones, humble guy but carefully he's the salt of the band,Jimmy couldn't been so great without that background.
@@frankernst1987 Jimmy knows. Amazing talent; the lot.
Their heart and soul were put into this performance. No current music can do this.
Nop michaud boy 23
Yeah because the people who become famous these days don't really love the music and alo they use the drugs to expose their ego even more instead of reaching a higher level of perception.
@@dimipartcaster7770 If you think drugs are a hit now just wait until you find out about the 70s lol. Bonzo would eat cocaine during performances
I didn't say that using drugs is something new. I said that the old bands used drugs to make awesome music. In today's music there is nothing awesome-with a few exceptions and those exceptions coming from people who are not famous at all.
That first solo from 0:08 is possibly the best live concert guitar solo ever. Pure, uncut perfection.
Stevie ray Vaughan, Live at el mocambo Texas flood, that’s the best live concert guitar solo ever recorded.
Agreed but it's not uncut. It's heavily edited by Page himself with re-recordings and re-shootings. Notice how his hair change.
So you mean this song actually doesn't exist because it has never been performed as we see it?
@@miawallace4421 I mean it's an iconic song but it's not improvised on the spot. You know ...the whole point of a live performance.
agreed
LZ was and will always be the best band that ever was.
You are correct
Probably top song they ever played, I can just play it over and over.
I was 14 when the first Led Zeppelin album was released. Totally blew my mind. Life would never be the same again.
Same! Its just like yesterday! Their song’s still are amazing and off this planet timeless
I'm 14 right now and led zeppelin are easily my favorite band
i'm 15, this october i'm going to the concert of plant in Italy. amazing...
@user-me5on9vd9i clearly you have been raised right! You follow my sons who are in their 30's now! Me & Dad still rockin!
One of my all time favourite songs ... Jimmy Page's guitar work sublime😊
5:32 look and listen to that.
Nothing comes even remotely fucking close.
Best of all time.
5:20 on 6:30 is my agreement with you
It really doesn't get better than this. Insane. Insane. Insane.
Brings tears to my eyes. Why? Because it's too amazing. My father loved them, I love them, my son will love them.
RIP to Bonzo. My favorite drummer to ever live. He made me want to play the drums and made me the drummer I am today. I will always be impressed by the work of this group. Its supernatural.
The best band, to ever walk the earth.
I came back to this one, and you will too. Salute to all of you drinking beer listening to this tearing up. I do it often.
I'm 71 and have seen LZ two times in my past...also Plant& Page twice. There will never be a band like LZ ever again!
one of the sexiest songs with the sexiest god of music
4 of the sexiest*
Over 50 years ago this was earth shattering and it still is today. It stirs shit that very few recordings could and at 75 it still does.
Is not a song....is a journey

ridiculously good. nobody makes music like this anymore.
Nobody.
Nobody ever made music like this, except LED!
@@johnc.8472 Exactly!
Because they're a super group! ❤
And no one ever did…
Greatest band in the history of the world!!!! 😲😲😲
Nobody talking about the vocal......!!!
I was there too I was 17 years old
These dudes are the best of the best at their respective positions...you never see a band where every member has this much talent...
They are great but not greater than Pink Floyd.

SUPERHUMAN drumming. The grooves, precision, and power(specially on the snare and bass) are unrivaled. Truly THE GREATEST rock drummer, without question.

No wonder that when Bonham died, they dissolved the band.
I remember Plant explaining "(Without Bonham) "We are obsolete "
And he was basically alone out there, I mean obviously you couldn’t have better backing than JPJ, but to do this with one guitar is insane…
@@booognish yeah 100% it’s crazy that he’s so good and he also got the best band
And they were all high as a kite
This is perfection.
among the Gods of Rock they sit on the throne, unmatched and unrivalled
Oh yeah!!!
If you really can concentrate to this song you can end up hypnotized . Ain't lying
Especially on shrooms
C'est le plus beau slow ,que je connaisse, il me donne envie de prendre une femme dans mes bras et de lui dire des mots d'une infinie tendresse.. vous êtes belles les filles mais parfois pas trop généreuses

Fuckin' eh. I know exactly where i was when news broke John Bonham left us!!
There is no better drummer than him to this very day!!
The Mona Lisa of music
Best rock solo ever!
This is by far the best live performance of any band at any time. It's raw, it's animalistic, it's brilliant and it rips your guts.
I can’t stop playing this song 😭
Neither. It's just so sick
I play it every single day without failure
Jimi page is a god on that guitar.
Yep for 35 years!
I can't help but just enjoy plants vocals, they're such a spectacle
Dont matter who you are just listen to this.
LISTEN TO--> BRITISH TRIBAL 🇬🇧 BLUES MUSIC---> Celebration Day and the Ocean.
It’s a simple blues done in LED Zeppelin style. That’s the formula for 90% of their music.
The rift Page puts down that syncs perfectly with Plant’s singing at 3:14 is fucking incredible. Just runs it down the line. Then hits that long drawn out note right after. So good!! Little subtleties like that is just one of the many things that made them the best.
I also love the line at 2:55, it also syncs perfectly!
@@TB2798 Page used his guitar to literally sing with plant, with the same expression and emotion that plant put out, and then he just amplifies it with the most incredible solo ever performed. But its the way he sustains and lets the chords ring out at 5:46 that gives me the chills every single time. Bonham also slows the beat and its only in this performance that you hear them do that. just incredible
exactly. their chemistry together
So thankful to my father for putting me onto Led Zeppelin and specifically this song and Kashmir...the sound is unique, iconic, and singularly the greatest rock music I've ever heard.
Dude I'm a 66 year old grandma and this has always been in my top 5 Zeppelin songs including Kashmir and When the Levee Breaks. You have good taste
This is the bad-assinest blues song of ALL TIME. Just incredible. The recorded version, this version, any version.
