It's entirely unnecessary as you can power turbines directly off of acid and calcite. You can pretty easily blow nuclear out of the water with a similar footprint.
11:17 I believe big mining drill's 50% resource drain is not a chance to not deplete the resource, it's how much less it depletes. At 50% the effect is the same, but, e.g., 10% drain means it produces 10 ores per one mined, whereas 10% chance means 10 ores per 9 mined.
you can infinitely expand it with cargo bays so its not really an issue. Cargo bays increase inventory space and transfer rate from ship to planet so you can receive as many materials per second as you want to build for. And with quality cargo bays the inventory size it gets is way more than sufficient. The problem with inter planet logistics is going to do with travel time more than anything else. You can load and upload the rockets as fast as you want, but I've yet to see a rocket go faster than like 300m/s which is still a good minute between planets or a few minutes for aquilo. So your only way to scale up is more ships doing the same travel routes, but that gets very expensive very fast. Basically with 1 ship per route that's like only having 1 train per resource, like 1 singular iron ore train for your entire base, the issue isn't the loading or unloading times, it's the travel times as a single train would be in transit like 80% of the time. Also if you want to scale up the ships cargo size to offload/onload faster, this means adding weight, which means increasing travel time. Travel time is the main limiting factor here
The worms seem like a skill gate rather than a constant check like the biters. Prove you can handle them, and then you get new territory, as opposed to continually prove you own the territory you take.
I wonder if the demolishers are like the Warden in Minecraft-you don't have to kill them, just play by their rules. (or kill them if you like the challenge)
Yea, for the small worms at least, I just got a tank with non explosive shells, and from a tank shot about 10 or so and killed the worms. Its only about 4 uranium non explosive ones. It was a lot easier than I thought it was gonna be

If I had nickel for every factory game where you make Tungsten Carbide on a volcanic planet, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it's happened twice (Factorio and Mindustry for those wondering)
Calcite is very common here in real life. Wonder why the devs decided to make it exclusive to a volcanic planet, where sulphides and silicas should be far more prevalent.
13:36 "I'll remove the beacons because the more foundries we use, the more productivity we get" Uh, I don't think so? It's a flat 50% prod whether you have one foundry working at 3× speed or 3 working at normal speed, right? It probably does use less energy tho.
@@MrDivinity22 The prod bonus are individual for each foundry and keep stacking down the line. 1 full speed foundry consumes way more ores per plate then a bunch of foundry’s with no speeds at all. Doesn’t mean you consume less ore per plate just by removing speeds though, but adding more froundrys to speed the production results in bigger productivity. And it works this way with every single recipe that goes with prod.
Like yes, he adds a second prod module inside the foundries, but whether you keep the beacons or not doesn't change the products/ingredients ratio, it just increases the throughput, and the same goes for adding more foundries.
@@MrDivinity22 Not completely crazy, but still missing the point. Machines with built-in productivity not just increases the throughput but also the prod for every machine. Let’s simplify the ratios with some imaginary machines and recipes. Let’s say a machine “A” ( our beaconed foundry ) can produce something with a ratio of 1 plate per 1 ore with a 2x speed. Machine “B” ( just the foundry ) produces at 1x, but has 50% productivity. Which means, it makes 50% more plates for every 1 ore, but its half the speed of A. If you have 2 machines B, you match the throughput of A, but the prod bonuses work individually for each machine. In 2 seconds machine A will produce 4 plates using 4 ores. In the other side, the b machines would produce 6 plates with just 4 ores, and this keep adding up. That’s why 8 beacons designs for furnaces normally takes less resources to saturate the same belt of a 12 beacon setup. More machines with prod always will use less resources when you match the throughput. You can test it by yourself tough!! Get some blueprints made for 1 blue belt worth of throughput, you will see that the designs with more furnaces always will use lesse resources. To summarize things, adding speed only increase the throughput. Adding more machines ( with built in prod or just prod modules ) increases the productivity *and* the throughput.
