I love how different your approach to fulgura is than mine. Partially because you went to fulgura at a different point in your journey, partly because of how map gen happened, and part just because you're another person. Your vids don't spoil my runs too much because I cannot for the life of me figure out your approach to trains and circuits so I always end up doing something different lmao
you could have sped up early fulgora power by calling down ice and carbon for steam power. your space platform just sits above you anyway, it may as well provide some resources while not travelling. some iron could simplify crafting, too, depending on how the platforms ammo reserves work out.
I've recently found the motivation to start my first factorio run ever. Thanks to the content being put out by awesome creators like you and mike. Have a great day!!
I’m in the same boat as you. I’ve only ever gotten to red and green science in some preliminary test runs, but never up to blue until now. It’s daunting but it’ll be fun!
I’ve needed to get around to watching this video but I’ve been really busy, every time UA-cam has been opened this is always the first result, thank you algorithm
I wouldnt mind factorio making fuel work differently. The way its made is fine, but it should happen on a planets surface or cost extra resources / prep time on the spaceship (like so much that you would need a 10x larger ship to not suffer low fuel or bad ammo production mid flight). A cool way would be making fuel then letting it settle removing impurities. It could happen when above planets or during flight, but would take considerably longer happning faster while stopped or on surface. Consecutive flights between planets would happen less frequently and take longer without propper fuel production on the surface.
@@princedest1ny trains gotta get refueled the platforms create thier own fuel sure you might have to setup infrastructure ,but still free travel. That could make restocking via rocket launch a good idea if you need the platforms to go indefinatly
so you will never reach the shattered planet. you need many HOURS for travel, and if you can make a stock in advance for such a long journey, then why do we need supply mechanics on planets at all?
@@AndrewBezdenezhnykh Because there are things other planets produce more efficiently. I mean there are the upgraded fuel recipes so it would be just depending on how large of a buffer you allow yourself the rest of the fuel could still be make on the ship. As for reaching that planet that i dont know anything about it could be the endgame as in needing a huge ship that stockpiles fuel and also generates it on the trip to not get stuck in space (making you get attracted back to planets could be cool too if you run out of thrust while not more than halfway to your destination this could also work in your favor after halfway). This would in fact enhance supply mechanics as you would have to supply not only the stuff you want to transport, but also the ship or risk slower / unsuccessful travels if you still get pulled to the planet after you run out of fuel and now cant make fuel and ammo fast enough, but are still moving you could lose the ship y know. Perhaps depending on solar could be nerfed too if you start taking hits its power gen could go down by idk space dust damaging and covering them. So supplying fuel for power generation could be a thing you need to do too for safer travel
I chose Fulgora as my first planet to explore. I didn't know you could just call drop pods to land on the planet from the space platform and thought you had to have the landing pad. Looks like I'm redoing the last 2 hours of my playthrough.
Can you make a tutorial video (or blueprints) for an efficient single rail two way train system that can handle multiple trains. This will be particularly useful for Fulgora.
- Data log: It's been 2 weeks without a DocJade video. I've been stranded on Gleba the entire time. I don't understand how I'm supposed to do anything on this planet. I keep trying to just mine the resources from the ground like the good ole' days, but they're scarce. These scary 5 legged creates walk around, but mostly ignore me. I thought they would be a threat like the biters, but I guess I was wrong. Maybe someday I'll figure out what I'm supposed to do here. Until then, I continue to wait for DocJade to save me with a video about how this crazy planet works. - End data log

Was kinda hoping Fulgora would have some kind of ancient, automated defense or AI robot enemies that right you to defend the ruins of their creators. They build their own factories to fight fire with fire.
i feel like if youre doing something on vulcanus that requires heat, like using a furnace, it should be faster, or more efficient or something (unless that is already the case)
I'm still wondering what the best way to get iron plates is on Fulgora. I originally also made them out of gears, mostly because I found that the recycler spat out *sooo many of them* that I had to get rid of a bunch of them. But now I'm wondering if there's some other items that I could scrap which would have better yeild. Also I got all my plastic from red circuits which was funny but eventually I'll probably find a way to make plastic out of the *ocean* of heavy oil on that planet.
