wow your hair looks beautiful, those curls are lush, but the colour you achieved with this is fantastic
Your hair is beautiful! I am 3 months in and loving it so far! Thanks for trying Overtone!
Wow, your hair looks great! I went cold turkey .. 2 years and thunderbirds were GO. It's so liberately and empowering.
Nice thick hair!
Thanks for the demo.
Wow your hair is so thick and shiny. Gorgeous.
The cool color of silver looks good on you/ compliments your complexion.
Thank you so much!
It looks a lot nicer with the Overtone in it. Definitely do it because it looks very cool and hip
Thank you so much! This is exactly what I'm looking to do. I already have my oVertone silver (the intense one) and am ready to go, but have had cold feet and decided to check UA-cam. Thanks so much. Your results are exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for: I know I'll still have roots, but they won't feel as obvious.
Looks great, blended well with your demarcation line 😀
You have gorgeous hair .. in any color! 😃
Your natural hair color is beautiful.
Thanks for taking the plunge! I too have warm reddish brown colour growing out of my otherwise gray hair and I really like the more cooler tone of your brown--fits much better with the gray. Interesting that it also darkened your whitish grays on top as well--i didn't think it would do that. i think I'll pick me up some... :-)
When you go to the overtone website it will show examples of what the product will do on different colors.
Hi Carrie- I just wanted to say thank you so much for introducing me to Overtone. I am in my fifth month transition ( about 3 1/2 inches of white roots) and I have gotten nothing but compliments on my hair. My white hair is a vibrant silver and I find that the product tones down the brassiness of the old brown color. I also find that my hair feels healthier. This product has been a game changer for me during my transition period. Thanks again!!
I am so glad it's working for you!! Finding products to help you enjoy your hair makes the process so much easier.

Thanks a ton for your comment..... I'm just trying to decide if I should stop dying my hair😮 this I've seen it a few other places using this kind of product.
I'm def gonna give it a Go ❤
I used fanola purple shampoo, just put it all over on dry hair, left it for ages lol then washed it out. Toned the dark brown fading dye part and slightly darkened the root so worked pretty well. I’ve grown all the dye out now and just use purple shampoo now and again, my hair is a steel grey.
How long did you leave it on
At 53, I’m just now considering going grey to quit the due process. I’ve decided to go with a strip dye grow out process so there’s less of a noticeable stripe. But I’m also going to keep this overtone conditioner method in my back pocket for when it’s grown out to a certain point.
My hair is also quite similar in texture to yours fine (but there’s lots of it) and wavy, so I’d be very interested in the “new to you” product line you’ve had luck with (your waves look great: nicely defined and healthy)
Wow!!!! Your hair is GORGEOUS!!!!
Thank you! It has its moments 😂
First off, I love that you use Evil Queens candles. But I digress, thank you for the tips. I have my overtone on the way and searched for video to prep for its arrival and found this. I used their pink before and it really took to my hair so I’m excited. We have similar hair so this really helps, thank you again!
You need to highlight the brown hair and then use the overtone. That is what I did and now I use overtone daily conditioner every other day and the deep color conditioner every 2-3 weeks and now my roots are growing out and blending with the highlighted hair that I used the overtone pastel silver on. You have to bleach the brown out for the overtone to work, unless you just want the brown to stay. I love overtone and when my silver gets a little too blue, I mix the pastel orange in the the pastel silver and it takes the blue out and it is more silver. Great product.
I was thinking same, but what if she applied the Overtone to only those grey areas, from the root up almost to the brown?
IT LOOKS SO GOOD!!
Looks beautiful! I actually liked the original two toned colour though too. Yes, please tell us what new CG products you’ve been using. 🙏🏻
It was fun to use Overtone but I actually like my demarcation line. It's back after a few washes.
Looks great! I wish I would have discovered this during my grow out. I’m 20 months in and should have all the dye cut off at my next appointment in 2 weeks. 😁
That is so exciting!! I can’t even imagine how that will feel. I think I might actually miss this demarcation line 😂
I have been using Overtone (pastel silver) for quite some time now as my transition to grey continues...a little over a year dye free. My hair is not as thick as your hair and I use quite a bit more Overtone product than it appears you did in the video. I've had great results with it and so happy that a friend mentioned the product to me...
Wow. Your hair turned out great!
Thank you 😊
I will be trying Overtone for the first time soo...I'm excited... I am interested in your hair care line... I have a product obsession... especially for curly/wavy hair!
It looks awesome, kind of ombré which is adorable. Wish I had your curls. My grey isn’t coming in fast enough for me at 65 and I’m chomping at the bit to go grey ever since I saw the silvery tone my mom had at 90.
Your hair is Beautiful !!
I'm amazed that my hair color, tone, length is almost identical to yours. So happy to have found you. Your hair looks amazing and I am definitely going to do this when my hair is a tiny bit longer. the gray is only about three months out and it's a little more salt and pepper than yours so I think I can wait a little longer. I'll definitely use this method to blend.
I love a hair twin!
Thank you, Thank You, this is the answer i have been looking for. Well done video and will be doing this method.
Very beautiful healthy hair! Love the tone 👍 Blessings
Thank you!
your hair is beautiful!! I am growing my white and grey out now. luckily, i have short hair so it wont take as long. but i wish i had your hair!! thanks for the video. I am getting these products as well.
I’m trying to find a way to transition to gray. I’m gonna give this a try. Thanks!
I have been growing out my hair for about 8 months and I have concluded that 1/2 an inch of hair growth per month is a lot and my hair grows quite a bit slower.
It's so hard to "watch" your hair grow, it feels like an eternity to me sometimes.
It's like the opposite of a shadow root very beautiful 😍
OMGosh it is 😆
Looks great!🙌🏼
I love love, love the result! It’s so beautiful, and really wasn’t that much effort. Heck, you were able to do it at home! You are super pretty, and I love your curls. 😊
I wish I could post pictures because yesterday I went to my stylist and had her put silver highlights in my hair from my demarcation line down through the bottom. I’m a dark brunette with very warm tones, and I have warm highlights. She cooled it all down and was able to give me this beautiful, ashy silvery Textured look from root to tip. I have straight hair. I’m thrilled with the results but wondering how it’s gonna work out over the next few weeks.
direct dyes like overtone can be left on for as long as you would like to, 15 or even 30 minutes is very short for direct dyes
Thanks for this @LOONBIT ! I need to do some more strand tests myself to see how long gives the effect I'm after.
You have gorgeous skin
Just started not dyeing my hair
68 age
I love it! I would love to check out this product! I will look at the website!
Your gray hair is gorgeous!
Thank you so much.
I think you should not go grey ,you’re still young apparently and the grey is making you older than you are .
Just started my journey to white/gray...this gives me hope.
YAY! Welcome to the gray side 🤍🌪
@@CarrieJessica Thank you, I've been dying mine for 28 years.
Can I just say I *love* your cut & curl pattern?!? It's absolutely awesome & your personal ombre look is stunning. Can't wait to hear about your new-to-you products. Blessings! Jackie in upstate NY
Thank you!
You're beautiful, hair is gorgeous!
I just want to go from red to grey, instantly! I’m going to be 77 so I’ve got no time to piss around.😮😅
How.... I'm in my 50s and no time either
Did you use this process? 68, red hair, with white coming in.... help..😊
@@michelemckune3809 no I haven’t tried it. I just absolutely cannot give up the red hair. I think the gray makes me look like I’m 90m & at 77 I guess I’m still vain enough that I’m gonna keep the red.👍🏻🤗🧑🏻🦰
🤣😂🤣😂. I love your spunk, girl.
@@k8marlowe thanks 😊
I recommend you mix extreme purple for brown hair with extreme silver on the brown hair,
Your hair is gorgeous! I would love to know what you use. Winter time is tough with all the frizz. Wanting to go grey after coloring my curls for 20 years! Happy Holidays! I cannot wait to try the overtone!
Wow...I’m Carrie too! I’m a year and a half plus and I’m needing some slumping!!! Thx
I love it! This is exactly what I'm looking for. I'm 63 and want to stop coloring simply because those vibrant colors don't go with my fading skin tone.
Love the result
I need to try this! Awesome. Thanks! 🌪
Yay for the silver tornado!
I love the shine it pop's!!
Thank you.
YAYYY CONGRATS FOR BEING 1 YEAR DYE FREE! This is such a genius idea to blend the colors together!!! 🌪🌪🌪
Thank you!!!
Turned out great!
Looks super good!
Revlon blue shampoo works well to cool brown tones. I'm about 50/ 50, natural brown(not dyed) w silver. The brown seemed very warm and I just didn't like the contrast with the cooler Gray.
Works much better than the purple shampoos for me.
Love your curls!
Hi. Thanks for this video! I really need to turn down the brass tone I ended up with after trying to remove my old dark brown hair color...
Carrie Jessica, the overtone on your hair looks amazing! It makes a huge difference. It did not work very well for me.(I used pastel lavender) Even though my color growing out is warm blonde, it is more orange than yellow. The color growing in is cool silvery blonde, so the contrast is hideous. I would love to hear about your new hair products that you are using. I noticed that your curls and volume looked great. Thanks for your demo.
I have to say I was surprised at the difference it made. I was disappointed when I did the stand tests but the extra time seemed to help.
@@CarrieJessica I have learned the hard way that strand tests are important. There is another grey hair blogger named Erica and she made a huge mistake by putting overtone rose gold on her beautiful all grown out silver hair. The overtone stained her hair. She was freaked out and upset. She did not do a strand test! I think that finally she got it out of her hair, but it took a little bit of work.
Anna Burns I saw that!!
I will leave it on overnight frequently, using a shower cap to contain the heat from my scalp to really set the color
Your hair looks beautiful grays and all. Thanks for the video it is the best to the point and how to apply video I've seen. I also will be doing the vibrant color I had to make sure it would be ok to do over henna dyed hair since other chemicals can interact with the henna salts and make the hair smoke or catch FIRE! I spoke with the representative and they gave the ok, did a strand test and will be doing all the hair next. Thanks again.
It came out awesome 👌 Thank you for this very helpful video❤
Glad it was helpful!
hi carrie-Jessica, I have decided to learn how to transition from my current colour which is mostly bronze brown gold tones, been colouring home style for years and had enuf, also my hair has been getting brittle and damaged from the dyes, and now I also need to look at finding the right agent hair mask to bring back the growth and thickness it use to be...BUT just wanted to say how beautiful you look with your lovely curls and transitioning colour is so kool. I hope that my hair will look as neat as yours ...
I would like to know what products you use for curly hair. Your hair is beautiful.
Carrie, loved your video! Thank you for sharing your experiences. It helps others for sure!! I’m in love with your blowdryer and diffuser! Would you mind sharing the brand?

Yes! I would love to know what products you use!
How long does the treatment last? How often do you wash your hair?
Hi Carrie - Did you consider using their Extreme Silver Overtone and if so, why did you not go with that rather than the Vibrant?
I’m definitely not gray yet, but it’s starting. I haven’t dyed my hair in over six years and I’m starting my curly hair journey. I’m definitely going to do this, because I’m not dying my hair when I start turning gray. Love this. Thank you.
I love that you've embraced you natural color. I wish I had done it sooner than I did.
@@CarrieJessica I know. I just got tired of paying so much! Thank you for this video.
With your bone structure you could rock a pixie too 👍👍
I would love to know your products you use!! Thank u!♥️🙏🏼♥️
I use overtone to blend my gray and brown. I use extreme silver and leave it on for an hour, at least. I think the lighter silver options used were just too light to blend the demarcation line.
Interesting. I bought a pot of the Pastel Silver; I have uncolored, untreated, light brown and gray hair. A strand test on dry hair for 10 mins did almost nothing except maybe to make the gray less prominent. I don't think pastel silver is really for turning hair pastel silver! Not really sure what it's for, though it does seem to leave hair nice and soft. I have a pot of the no color hair mask (the Remedy) I plan on using, and then I am going to go for a Pastel Purple ( I decided for lockdown I may as well see how I like a little color in my hair). I think Carrie-Jessica's hair looks darker gray, which makes sense looking at the color in the pot of color depositing conditioner. I think if you are white-haired, or platinum, or blonde you should be very careful about using Silver oVertone!!
@@lindas.1751 products like overtone only deposit color. They don’t lighten. Which means you have to factor in the color of your hair before application. The pastel version has less pigment than the vibrant version (which has less pigment than the extreme version). I like to buy the Extreme because I have the option to lighten it by adding plain conditioner to dilute the pigment.
I hope when I have more Gray it’s light enough that I can do pastel colors 😁
@@dandylion7627 Makes sense, once I think about it haha! Thanks! It's a really intriguing kind of product to me.
Tried overtone in silver vibrant. Like you, it did take out some of the reddish tones. I am 16 months dye free! Would love to know what products you are using.🌪
I can’t wait to share what I’ve been using. I’ve been playing around with different Original Moxie products to find the ones that work best for me. ❤️
Your hair is gorgeous!! What product are you using?
Love your hair!
Your hair is beautiful. I let 4 inches grow out during covid, and it was so white in the front i felt washed out face color wise..tried a silver blue and didn't grab at all. Started to Really looooze..alot of hair too. Got that under contol with biotin pills and scalp treatments. But you've got so much hair! I've been dying my hair blue black for years and after my daughter's wedding, I'm really thinking about it again. Turning60 now so not sure if Iwant to conform but tired of dying...don't know how gray gray may hair is in the back so im gonna find out! ....I think...😳😑💙🌎 thanks for ur video..
Interested in knowing about the haircare products please You look amazing ❤
Looks great!🌪
❤️🌪
Lovely curls what products do you use? Ty
It did look like it helped. I go to my hairdresser every 5 weeks and she puts a toner on my hair and every 10 weeks I get a trim. I am 6 months in and am brunette so my hair does turn reddish if I don’t get it toned. I don’t know that there is a really great solution except to just tough it out.
It’s a fun timeframe to try all kinds of stuff but ultimately time is our solution 😂
Funny I came across this now. I am highlight-free as of 9/9/20. I have more subtle demarcation. I did NO patch test. Ha ha. I didn't put anything on the top of my head where there is salt/pepper-pepper/salt. I just put the vibrant silver on the area from demarcation down and left it on 15 min. It definitely helped. I decided to then try the extreme silver using the same process a week later, and it covered more/toned more of the blondish/orange color, and it somehow even matches the top of my hair where I never put anything on. Go figure. I think if you try vibrant silver, you may see more results. Great job on the video.
It’s so fun to play with color depositing conditioners. 🌪
I wonder how this would go if you had natural red hair? I'm fighting my greys back by dying and I'm concerned as to how the red will blend with the grey - it looks more silver than grey to be honest. I'm looking around to use an overtone to blend it more from the time I start to grow it out. I haven't embraced this yet.
Curious why you just use cool color toner to get rid of the warm dyed hair portion of your hair.
LOL! Every time you gave Siri instructions, my pod responded hahahshs! I had to keep telling it to cancel that.
OMG 😆
Beautiful!
I haven't colored my hair in 2 years so my gray is different colors silver gray to a white gray my ends are brownish red. I am sick so I don't know if I can handle looking at me
beautiful, what hair dryer are you using - I need to find one like that.
I have a fairly straight pixie. Slowly trying to completely go for the silver..highlighted look. I've used several different purple shampoos but it has given me a blue/lavender tone. Please let me know if there's a better way to achieve my desired hairstyle. I have brown/red natural hair color. Thank you!
I love this method! What is the hair care line you've been using?
Yes I am interested in what products you use😌
I am watching this because I died my hair with henna, then to create Transition with some blonde Highlights but they are super displaced and too light and are making the Look even messier. The funny Thing is: my Hair isnt Grey, IT has Always Been this ashy DARK blonde, but Not a Lot of color in it so it seems super Grey especially with the red lenghts of my Hair. So i will try this to grow Out my Natural hair. Thank you! It Looks awesome!
I would love to know your hair care products! Your hair is beautiful, I love the curls!

Overtone was so fun! The stylers I used were from Original Moxie, they quickly became favorites of mine. ua-cam.com/video/YfwUH_qR7-g/v-deo.html
@@CarrieJessica Hello Carrie, I love the final results, and would love to know which silver toner you use.
Have you considered using a peroxide free color remover like the ion one on your ends? It may help get your ends a teeny bit lighter and then you can easily tone them with another color depositing conditioner or shampoo to achieve a nice ashy tone
I ended up going a different route. 🧚♀️
@@CarrieJessica I saw after I commented, you look AMAZING love the cut on you!!
