    *I forgot to mention, the 2 spray on concealers stay on till you wash it out. The Cover Your Gray brush on applicator "says" it is waterproof, but it isn't in the slightest. It washes off even when I wash my face at night. But that's ok with me, because it's so fast and easy to touch up the next day. I suppose you wouldn't want to go swimming or get caught in a rain storm with it on. LOL

    Tried it a couple of years ago: covered all my grays along the hairline, without staining the skin, but boy oh boy…….it looked so unnatural and i had people stairing at my hair all the time! Also don’t like the sticky texture on my hair, plus the staining of my fingers everytime i touch my hair, even after it ‘dried’ up. I ditched it in the garbage bin. Transitioned gracefully to a greyhead and never felt so free in my life. Guess what…nobody is staring at my hair nomore and i get compliments all the time♥️

      Indeed, looks weird, staining on my fingers and glasses and black nose because of my glasses who are on my head. It’s not a good way so will transition to grey also, have developed allergy to hair colorings though the years..

    Great advice re dye root touch-ups. My aunty, now 81yrs god love her, has been having her silver roots touched-up every few weeks at a salon for over 40yrs and is now suffering from skin cancer eruptions along the root line. She is now a regular at the skin cancer salon. For dark hair like yours, try rosemary water: collect an armful of rosemary prunings. Chop them into a rice cooker or large pot and cover with water. Cover and boil for about 40mins - 1hr. Strain and bottle. Keep the bottles in the fridge so they don't go moldy. Bring to room temp and use as a rinse after each washing of the hair. Works a treat, even on my red hair and eyebrows to keep the colour. And no chemicals. Leaves hair very soft. Use an old towel just as you would for any dye.

      Dinorah Padro I’ve searched and searched there’s no way around it lol. It’ll be painful for a while growing it out I think. I’ve considered it myself. My neighbor went and had her existing red dye stripped out to blonde and dyed silver to ease her transition and in a week it was just platinum blonde lol. I just can’t bring myself to go through that transition stage but I am seriously sick and tired of battling gray roots.

    • @B4-1light
      @B4-1light 5 років тому +1

      Monique Gebeline I completely hear you! I also was so done with coloring! It felt like fighting with my own body! Shortly after writing that comment, I actually ended up cutting off all of my dyed hair. Now, I sport a cute pixie cut with my pristine salt and pepper natural color. Getting compliments everyday! Lol! Yes, I do miss the length, but I’ll keep being patient as it grows out. The hair dying process is just not for me anymore. I honor and respect every person’s journey. Perhaps there is a decisive moment for each person when they reach a moment of no return. Wishing you a bright and beautiful expression of yourself at every step of the journey, wherever it leads you. ❤️🌟

    I've got a great idea for spray coloring the hairs around the forehead so it doesn't look like a cap. Take a fine tooth comb and lay it against the forehead and push up as if you're pushing the comb into the hair but just keep it there and then spray. That way the hairs get the spray but the forehead doesn't.

    In no time i subbed after watching this video..i just thought that i'll probably be doing in a few years what you are doing now..it's not that you don't want to age (gracefully) but you just want to maintain your youthful look for a lifetime..that's what you're making good about yourself..keep it up! Stay young at heart forever!

    • @GracefulBeautyWithSheri
      @GracefulBeautyWithSheri  6 років тому +4

      Awww thanks so much and I agree with you 100%. I'm fine with aging, but I'm not trying to just give up and look older than I feel. I still feel like I'm 18...and act like it sometimes too. LOL I know some people say to stop doing all of this and just let the grays show and be natural and embrace nature and the aging process, etc etc, BUT if that's the case, then I shouldn't wear makeup, shouldn't shave my arm pits (well I don't I have laser hair removal LOL), shouldn't pluck my brows, shouldn't wear spanx. LOL I get it that some women want to be gray and they look beautiful but I don't feel pretty with gray and I enjoy wearing makeup. I want to age gracefully, hence the name of my channel. Thanks so much for your comment. Hope you have a great week!

      @@GracefulBeautyWithSheriThank you so much for sharing your thoughts. It's very natural of you for telling what's in your heart..and I just felt the same way too! We're just loving ourselves and trying to be true to what we feel. I've been thinking about embracing my gray hair forever as tobwhat my mother has done. But deep down inside, it's not me..it's not being vain or trying to please others but it's how you feel good about yourself. How you like others to treat you the way you wanted to be treated. I've come to a point to just be myself. As I age, I became more conscious and cautious about how I look..I'd rather be bold and beautiful in my own right than to be miserable and resentful because I did not listen to what my heart's desires.

    Yesterday, I noticed in the car mirror that my gray hair was practically screaming to be seen from as far away as possible 😵 I also seen my mouth fall open when I noticed it lol :/ after I calmed down I remembered I didn't really care anymore. I'm not married and haven't dated in a long time either, so it's probably a lot different for me. I've tried the sprays before but they don't cover as well on lighter hair. Here’s a great tip that I use: buy a pair of thin white cotton gloves, like at the drug store or beauty store - I’ve even found them at thrift shops - and use them when you use the spray root touch ups. Your hands, nails and jewelry stay clean, and you can just throw the gloves in the laundry with towels to wash!

    I've recently found your channel and have truly been enjoying all your videos! Thank you so much. I've got a L'Oreal spray that I use but, I've never seen the wand used before! It looks so much easier. I also just recently started using a product called Color Wow root cover up. It's the same basic idea but, comes as a powder with a brush applicator. It's super helpful for right up front where I'm thinning. I apply it directly to to my scalp for a more blended look.
    Look forward to watching more videos. ☺️

      I can imagine that it is not easy for everyone to assume white/grey hair, it depends of your state of mind, your facial features etc.. The more important for you is to feel confident, with natural or coloured hair :) And for your problem, I know that there are some coloured sticks to correct the roots, maybe it could be a better solution than a spray for you. Lucille Young I know what ya mean. I don't feel pretty and I feel old when I have gray/white hair. Some women look so pretty with gray hair but it's just not for me. Whatever makes you feel beautiful is what you should do. That's what I'm doing. I'm hearing many people say the spray by loreal makes their head itch. I haven't tried it. I never have that issue with the rita hazan or gray away. I have tried topiks spray too and it stains and comes off easily.

      Hi Jane! Yes my hair isn't soft where I apply these products. Even when I color my hair at home, I make sure the spray is washed out the day before I color, otherwise the coloring won't penetrate as well. Gray hair is definitely a hassle. @@mamoonrana2450 yes..I can understand...it feels awful and awkward when white hair almost are seen and everybody is looking at your root...and saying sometimes oh!no!you have white hair already?you are so young...I'm older and I haven't got one white hair....yes some people do say things like that...not everybody but some do...from the other hand I keep saying to myself ok white hair you've got but your are healthy!

    Oh my God. This has been life-changing!. I have got only a few grey hairs around my temples, but I think have lost a bunch of hair already (and burnt my scalp so many times) trying to dye them and nothing. The rest of my hair gets so damaged for only a few days of joy....because if the hair dye works...it is only briefly. I will definitely try these two - thanks for the video :-)

    Ooooh the things we do for vanity's sake. It makes me sooo tired.

      I wouldn't consider wanting to do a quick root touch up the same as vanity. Now if I/someone were to obsess over my/their looks and spend hours doing hair, makeup and in the mirror all day, every day, then yes that sounds like total vanity for sure. I think it's quite healthy to take care of our appearance, learn tips and tricks to age gracefully BUT without obsessing over it and making it our whole focus in life. I do agree with ya that it is tiring sometimes...and when I feel like that, I just don't put on makeup and don't do my hair. I'm lucky if I feel like brushing my hair somedays! LOL 🤪

    I started getting a bad reaction from dying my hair. Would this be less harsh on my skin?
    I liked your video.

      Yikes that's terrible. I would check with your dermatologist or hair professional. But these products don't replace hair dye. They are just a temporary way to hide grays in between coloring your hair.
