- For this weeks video I have a really exciting color correction where I blend my clients hair to mimic her natural grey.
Lightener
BlondeAF 7 vol to 20 vol
Lowlight
Faction8 5-1 5-8 6 vol
Mid Shadow Root
Faction8 7-1 6 vol
Toner
Silver and Violet Rapid Toners
This has to be the best color correction to natural I have ever seen!!!!!!

@@locksbylauryn I'm 52 and have been coloring my hair since I was 20 (premature gray😁thx Dad. I haven't colored my hair since last October so that's what 8 months or so. It's long a curly. I hate the way it looks with the brown ends. 😒
One of the best color corrections to match growing in grey hair I have seen on UA-cam. On par with Jack Martin.

Same here …sadly my dark box dyed middle and ends are going to make it hard …..that and the fact I can’t even find a stylist who is able or willing to do it ! One salon quoted me $1800 , I’m sure they had no intention of doing it and were trying to scare me off ..I almost booked it just to see their reaction 😂 ( obviously to cancel a few days before appointment if they didn’t back out as I certainly didn’t trust them )…….

This looks seriously good! I’m 34 and I just started seeing greys in my hair. I’ve always think that grey hair is beautiful even in younger people. I saved this in my faves for future reference when I finally embrace my greying hair 😄

I've just had my hair highlighted with just the T-section in white. I am 90% grey/silver and it looks really good now! I was very nervous about having anything done because I didn't want to get on that colouring 'treadmill' again - BUT I am happy to report that it's worked! It's lightened the darker grey areas and blended the lighter, silvery ones. It will now grow-out fine....

Cutting first is half the battle. Thank you for a thorough step by step. It's important to exhibit this process so that both client and stylist can see their direction, toward a better blend. btw it is exactly where I and so many are at... Awesome technique and translation.

You did a fantastic job! I love that some of us used the pandemic to break the stereotypes of youth. We are normalizing that gray hair is unrelated to age or health. It is just in our genes. And we look amazing with it! I bet that the mental health of your client has improved with this transition as well. For me, it made me realize that my fears of growing old were all in my head. I am still as vibrant and, yes, beautiful in my own way, regardless of what color is on my hair this week. :) Being tied to a bi-monthly program of touching up roots simply exacerbates those fears of growing old. Again you did an amazing job, her hair looks fabulous and healthy!!!

Looks incredible! It really blends so perfectly and I even really love the sort of ombre effect, how it's much lighter at the ends but still compliments the natural hair at the roots. It's like my dream hair haha.

I have done hair since the 80s and let me just say its a craft and you did a really nice job here! It`s fun to transition clients and not just cut it off , thats cool as well but transitioning is like you said a learning experience and she will appreciate it and be with you for many years to come!

Beautiful. I have let my highlights grow out and was thinking about asking my hairdresser who is amazing to do something like this. My hair is already blonde so would just need to have the grey. This has made me sure it’s what I want. And I have long hair so am going for a good cut too. Great video. Have sent to my hairdresser 💇♀️. Amazing and beautiful 🤩
Stunning! I'm growing out my hair and I love the sparkly silver that is coming through, but it does involve lots of patience in the grow out stage, it would be lovely to wave a magic wand and have a transformation just like this!

Lauryn, thank you for posting this magical video! I found a new salon here and she is going to try this with my hair. Unfortunately, my hair is so dry and brittle that we have to spend a few weeks conditioning it to avoid breakage. I'd be ecstatic if mine turned out half this nice. You are terrific!

Thank you! I depends on your hair and if can take all the lightening. But there is a possibility that it wont be able to get as light on dark hair thats already color treated

Pretty sure there is no regrow this touch up, as she didn’t go to the roots, but as the ends silver colour fades, she may have to get that redone.

Thanks! The grey fades to a blonde, but she can maintain the ashy tone with purple shampoo at home. I will try to post an updated video in the near future!

I fell like this color could have been achieved WAY FASTER !! where you wouldenyt have had to charge so much OMG !!! the BAND was YOUR fault for NOT blending when you first put on the bleach you should have used a condtioner and BLENDED the bleach high to erase that ...... i like the color but do not see it taking that long or charging for your mistakes.. : { ....

Well that’s her method everyone has their own techniques. And you can’t rush color
That's beautiful -- it's a good thing she's letting it go. I hope she grows it more -- it's fairly straight, and it'll look wonderful once it's this shiny waterfall of silver. Buns and French braids especially are going to look BOMB on that stuff.

That's a good colour job. So much better than that yellowish tone that was on the ends previously. This colour is much more chic and looks healthier. I'm considering a similar look myself after xmas.

This is what happened to me... Covid made me decide to finally go full grey. And it’s liberating. The transition is beautiful
Great results and a nice blend of vocabulary for colorists and clients. You have a very accurate eye for level and tone. Good tips during the lightening stage for fast application and final minutes of lifting. The BEST share was advising colorist to use an hourly rate. I do this with extensions too. It saves us from being underpaid when difficult situations arise during color corrections. It takes as long as it takes!👍
