This is just what I needed!!! I went to a new stylist and she did not really give me what I was hoping for. More yellow than I wanted and kinda looked just like your hair (which looks good btw but also just not what I asked for). I ordered the pastel silver overtone and then found your video right after. I’m SO excited!!!! This was JUST the type of video I was looking for!
I am a cool dark blond/brunette. I asked for the same exact hair to continue to grow out my salt n pepper streaky hair. What I got after a whole day in the salon and 330 dollars later was orange and yellow hair!
I do not like overtone, glad you do. It turned my hair blue and faded to green and was difficult to remove. I love Pravana semi's though. There's also a video out there where someone had beautiful natural gray and used Rose Gold overtone. I felt horrible for her, it didn't end well
You are not supposed to shampoo your hair after. It’s a deep conditioner. Try it again on dry clean hair please! I would definitely get the vibrant! And leave it on for about 30 minutes. 😊
I’ve been using Overtone for over a year so I know the right method to use! This is how I prefer to do it because I have fine hair and if the conditioner doesn’t get thoroughly rinsed out (which it never does), it totally weighs me hair down. Leaving it on longer doesn’t necessarily make a difference either (according to Overtone).
Originally wanted cool ash blond and was unhappy with the yellowish blond from stylist. Went to same stylist a second time and got more of the same, with stripes. Then tried Overtone in Ginger???? I don’t understand.
Let me explain it to you since it seems it matters to you. Often ash blond is better achieved with more lightening - something that takes more than one session for darker hair - followed by a toner to cool the blond. That’s how it’s done for most people. So the second time wasn’t unusual. I just still didn’t get the results I wanted. It happens. I then decided I would just go for a different tone on my own - looking for copper highlights. This can generally be done with a toner over blond highlights but I thought I’d try it at home with Overtone. Make sense?
I don’t think it will do more necessarily with the longer you leave it on. It’s staining your hair, not having a chemical reaction. But if it works for you, great!
@@Allthingsfadra I’ve used it for ever! All that yellow orange backyard highlight color you have going will be a cool soft baby blonde. I’m not affiliated, just trying to help you get those tones under control.
@@jessiesvids10 I went on Amazon and initially saw fantastic reviews. Then I decided to look at the 1 star reviews and there were consistent complaints with photos of it turning hair purple and completely drying it out 🤷🏻♀️
Wow..your hair looks great! I had just ordered the pastel silver and this is exactly what I was looking for.😊
Glad it was helpful!

I'm so glad! I hope this video helped!
The second application came out nicely. I am transitioning to grey and have about 4 inches left and wanted to try to use the pastel.
did you try it? my overtone arrives this week and that's exactly what I'm doing. I can't wait really.
Thank you soooo much for making this video. Exactly what I was looking for, and so thorough!! I also want to tone down some brassy highlights.
It definitely helped!
Thanks,, I was looking for this video. To see if will work to grow my natural gray hair

you need to use purple first to tone ... if you just use silver, you will get green
The orange tho... there is a lot of orange

Did you use the larger bottle of conditioner as well ?

If you want white gray you need to buy the extreme or vibrant i do the same pastel y soooo soft. Try it
I leave that color on for an hour. I typically don’t get the blue

I believe it was the more orange colors.... purple tones yellow and blue tones orange...

Bold uniq shampoo will knock that yellow out and ice it for you in a blink! You won’t regret it !,
Just looked that up on Amazon. I might have to try it!
On second thought, the reviews are horrible. No thanks.
