I feel your back pain, I had a bad motorcycle wreck on July 13 2005 11 surgeries in the first 10 years. 4 L hip surgeries in the first year and half alone, then 4 back surgeries and then the rest. I have a plate and 6 screws in my left hip and 2 long rods in my back with 20 screws. I hope you get better with the back and never need surgery. And nothing runs like a diesel Chevy when it's running right, great video take care and always stay safe.

I trashed my back in Vietnam in 1969. Mines in the S4 S5 area. I have never had surgery Everyone's back injury is different I go to the gym 6 days a week and do a lot of reps with 5 or so machines.. If I do that, and I have for years, my back probably won't bother me.
6 or 7 years ago I had low level annoying pain. I got 2 shots to the lining of the spine. They said they would last 2 to years, but we are way beyond that.
You are young. in good shape, and active. You know what is wrong, and you will be able to manage it.

I herniated a disc in my back with terrible sciatica when I was 19. Took over a year to heal, but what I found was doing physical exercise that reduced the pain and drinking tons of water seemed to help. All of a sudden it just stopped hurting one day. 9 years later without any other real issues. Hang in there. Stay moving and hydrated and you'll get better. Also recommend using an inversion table.

Hate to hear about your back issue . You’re very young to so it should heal . But you have to change how you do things . I’m 48 , when I was 46 my MRI revealed my L4/L5 was tore and herniated . Took 9 months of therapy and training to get back to almost normal but I’ve had to change how I do things . I still have an occasional bad day that humbles me

Welcome back. I too had a herniated disc from doing leg presses. Took over a year for it to heal. Make sure you do some stretching, cobra poses, and make sure you keep exercising. Hanging from a bar while (something like a pull up bar) while letting your legs hang is helpful, it opens up the disc allowing the herniation to get "sucked" back in. It'll take time but you will heal, but always be careful in the future since it is prone to happen again if stressed.

Sorry about your back dude! I'm forty, I was a diesel mechanic, and herniated a disc up between my shoulder blades when I was 33. Had a couple years of weird sensations, felt like someone was pouring hot tub temp water over my left shoulder randomly, and like bugs crawling over that shoulder and arm. But 7 years out, I can still do most of the stuff I did then, I'm just a little more careful about it, and I use the air tools more than I did, I used to just herk stuff off cause I'm a big guy, but now I let the machines do it for me more, hah. Still a bummer to hear, man. I predict that you will develop the ability to spot all the other people walking around in town who have bad backs, just from the way that walk, hah, it's like a super power you get when you hurt your back.

Hey boss I'm a chiropractor. Your disc herniation can most likely be helped by a chiro provider that does Cox Flexion Distraction. Look into it. You should see a significant reduction in pain and symptoms within 4-6 weeks (usually around 50%). Herniations sound scary but they're very common and very treatable by a chiropractor who has an F&D table. Hope this helps.

So I know the struggle, shit sucks especially being young. I'm very nervous about what things will look like when im old

I was able to avoid surgery & shots however was sent to physical therapy and learned some basic yoga stretches (child’s pose, knees-to-chest, figure-4 are my staples) that I now do religiously (twice per day) even when I’m not experiencing any symptoms. They knock flare-ups right down. Hope that helps!
