I love watching you pull a nature aquascape together in a brand new tank. Folks can always go back and pause to get the same type of look or feeling in their own tanks. Looking forward to the follow up on this tank.

George! I was feeling down about the hobby, even wanted to quit at one point. But I kept watching your videos and you inspired me to stick with it, I've learnt so much in so little time and now I've got an awesome nature hardscape done on a Nano, cannot wait to plant it tomorrow! Feel like a little kid again!! You make it look so easy at times, and your advice is easy to follow and makes sense. Thank you! :D

I've started playing a game when I watch. It's called "Where Will George Put the Hardscape". So far, I've been 100% wrong. Hahahahaha! But it's fun to play. I think it helps improve my eye. Nice pieces of wood. "Go bold are go home". Excellent t-shirt slogan.
As I mentioned in another comment, as long as Nimrod isn't torturing his tank mates, I would leave them all together. My bettas that have tank mates enjoy chasing them a bit, but they don't actually hurt them. My Betta, Mythic, who lives happily alone, took 3 of his tank mates down before I realized what was happening. Of course, Mythic flares at nerite snails.
Can't wait for Part 2! Keep on scaping :-)

  • @laurapalait4827

I think Nimrod should keep his tankmates. I think a lot of people hear "bettas must be kept alone" and when they see a betta in a community it really opens their eyes to the possibilities (although half of them will leave a comment about how wrong you are first haha!). But you being such a public figure have the chance to show a lot of people that bettas can do quite well in communities, I think plakats like Nimrod are especially well-suited. As long as he's not chasing anyone down and no one is nipping at his fins (your stocking looks all very peaceful) he should be very happy in there! I even think having tankmates provides enrichment for the bettas :) Beautiful scape as always, I think its great you stick to what you like, I think that's when you do your best work. I'm redoing my 20 gallon long neocaridina tank next weekend and I've chosen a very similar plant selection to this setup! As always, thanks for sharing!

Great job as usual George! I think Nimrod should stay in the Flex by himself! All that space to himself. Luckiest Betta alive. To slow down the flow of the outpipe nozzle I fed pieces of sponge with tweezers from the back. I’m sure Nimrod would appreciate the low flow it creates. Well done mate.

Hi love the video and scape. Do you find the choice of tropica plants limit your scapes. I find as a company I don't really have good success with there plants. Especially 1.2 grow stuff, that always melts for me.

    • @GeorgeFarmerStudios
      @GeorgeFarmerStudios  6 років тому

Hi Courtney. I’ve never had issues with Tropica plants. I’ve been using them almost exclusively for over 12 years with great success.
If they’re melting it’s either an issue with your set up and / or you’ve bought an unhealthy plant from the retailer (too long on the shelf).

Excellent scape again George! With regards to Nimrod, keep the tank mates in. When I had my Betta, Nigel, he had 12 neons in there and they were all fine. Just creates more activity in the tank. No problems at all. I’d keep them, but there’s really no benefit to the fish either way, is there? Makes no odds to Nimrod!

    Hi, George.
Been somewhat absent, sorry. Some probs - no health issues, luckily.
Nice project, this one. IMHO the stone just left of centre is too imposing and cuts the view of the beautiful wood arrangement - try taking it out and see if it doesn't improve overall aspect or a much smaller round'-ish' stone in its' place; if not: easy - just set it back...
Isn't there a little too much current in the bettas' present setup? They can be worn down by fighting the current...
Looking forward to the second part of this scape.
    Cheers!

If there's no aggression between nimrod and his tankmates then leave everyone in there. I think the tank would look kind of lonely with less fish in there. Looks pretty lively and and is nice to watch.

Hi George! Just discovered Aquascaping a couple of weeks ago and enjoying watching all of your videos! Very well done! Quick question. Getting ready to completely renovate a 40 gallon tank into an aquascape tank. I noticed in this video, the Tropica substrate completely covered the bottom of the tank and is some of your aquascapes you place sand in the front area. What is your decision making process for preferences per what you are trying to accomplish with each design?

Great video! Looking forward to see next one in this series :) Question: Do you use battery backup to keep your pumps and heaters running during power outages, especially when you're away from home? I live in the north east US, where winter storms are known to knock out power, and my apartment relies entirely on electricity (no gas, no oil, no wood). This can mean no way of heating up water for a cup of tea, not to mention a whole aquarium.

They are a funky looking piece of kit! I have been looking for a decent yet not too hard hitting tank to make my first move with aquascaping. It would be slightly cheaper to buy the materials to build one, but then I would have to purchase the filter, heater and lighting on top so it's not that much difference, rocks and hard places dammit!!

Please use some red stem plants so it can stand out from the rest of your tanks ! :)

Didn’t like those stones at the beginning but now I see 😉. Gonna be 👍🏻. Leave Nimrod with the tetras. They can live together, I have 40 tetras, 6 corydoras and I huge plakat betta in a 120 liter tank and they getting along just fine. In fact, the betta mind his own business and the tetras aren’t interested in him 🤷🏻‍♀️.
