What I appreciate about your vids is the advice you give. Explaining not only what you’re doing but why you are doing it. The honest transparency. Just wanted to encourage you. 👍🏻 love all your vids mate
I love watching you pull a nature aquascape together in a brand new tank. Folks can always go back and pause to get the same type of look or feeling in their own tanks. Looking forward to the follow up on this tank. Hello Tommy, you handsom little fella, 😘 puppy kisses for you.
George! I was feeling down about the hobby, even wanted to quit at one point. But I kept watching your videos and you inspired me to stick with it, I've learnt so much in so little time and now I've got an awesome nature hardscape done on a Nano, cannot wait to plant it tomorrow! Feel like a little kid again!! You make it look so easy at times, and your advice is easy to follow and makes sense. Thank you! :D
That is a comfortable looking house. That aquarium will add to the beauty of that home. Thank you once again for a excellent video on aquascaping. Even though the tank next the one you are doing is a showpiece as well. I enjoyed watching! Not for nothing, but you are a genius!
1:44 I see the BiOrb Air in the background! Can't wait for you to scape that George! Looking forward to the vivarium/terrarium/florarium series. And as always, great content and scape on this video. Love it!
Great video George. Looking forward to the next part. I've started using the Evolution Aqua theaquascaper - Liquid Plant Food and really pleased with the results so far!
I've started playing a game when I watch. It's called "Where Will George Put the Hardscape". So far, I've been 100% wrong. Hahahahaha! But it's fun to play. I think it helps improve my eye. Nice pieces of wood. "Go bold are go home". Excellent t-shirt slogan. As I mentioned in another comment, as long as Nimrod isn't torturing his tank mates, I would leave them all together. My bettas that have tank mates enjoy chasing them a bit, but they don't actually hurt them. My Betta, Mythic, who lives happily alone, took 3 of his tank mates down before I realized what was happening. Of course, Mythic flares at nerite snails. Can't wait for Part 2! Keep on scaping :-)
I think Nimrod should keep his tankmates. I think a lot of people hear "bettas must be kept alone" and when they see a betta in a community it really opens their eyes to the possibilities (although half of them will leave a comment about how wrong you are first haha!). But you being such a public figure have the chance to show a lot of people that bettas can do quite well in communities, I think plakats like Nimrod are especially well-suited. As long as he's not chasing anyone down and no one is nipping at his fins (your stocking looks all very peaceful) he should be very happy in there! I even think having tankmates provides enrichment for the bettas :) Beautiful scape as always, I think its great you stick to what you like, I think that's when you do your best work. I'm redoing my 20 gallon long neocaridina tank next weekend and I've chosen a very similar plant selection to this setup! As always, thanks for sharing!
Hi George, another winning scape, great layout. Please be careful with the protruding wood ,i can see it getting caught as you walk round the corner. Looking forward to part 2. Ive finally got round to doing my 1200 scape this weekend ,hardscape only, planting next weekend. Please leave nimrod with his little Tetra friends, he looks happy in there . All the best, Martin.
Hey George, I like your choice in using crypts and buce. I’m enjoying my crypts at the moment, got parva growing nicely. I also am starting to collect a couple different buce and have some beaut ones I’m picking up soon. Thanks for your vid content, always enjoy chillaxing to it mate.🤘
Great Aquascape George. Looking absolutely Magnificent! I will suggest that if Nimrod isn't Bothering other fishes then keep him with tankmates. They do interact you know. Can't wait for Part 2.( Black Neon tetra would look great in this setup)
Great job as usual George! I think Nimrod should stay in the Flex by himself! All that space to himself. Luckiest Betta alive. To slow down the flow of the outpipe nozzle I fed pieces of sponge with tweezers from the back. I’m sure Nimrod would appreciate the low flow it creates. Well done mate.
I quite liked the roots on their own. Very nice shape and flow. Big rocks covered most intetesting part of it which would be a great focal point. I would have liked far smaller rocks to complement the wood with finer details in the front. Nevertheless i know it will look great when fully finished and mature. 👍
I have Parva in my planted tank too George....definitely a slow grower! I’ve been using s.repens recently. Having some great success with that & it’s covering the majority of the bottom now which I’m buzzing about🙌🏻🌱Great video once again btw👍🏻
Great video George and Bryan. The different shots were cool and the semi-finished scape looks great! Excited to see what you do with the large open area at the back... Sadly Tropica does not have any dealers here in Australia and many species you use are unavailable.
Finally scaping the 600. You've been leaving it open as a tease for a while now. Looking forwards to what's going into the background and for the red colander moment at the end. Hopefully it's coming mid week. Awesome Sunday scape. Glad you stuck to your style. No trident!!! Just saying!
Really great video George. I'm just starting out with serious aquascaping and you're videos are really helping. I see this was posted about a year ago. Is the tank still up and running? I'd love to see an update. I just scrolled through all your other videos and didn't see it, at least not that gorgeous piece of wood sticking up and to the left! Thanks for posting.
Great composition! Excited to see what the foreground will look like once grown in🌱. I'm wondering what plants you will choose for the background? Can't wait for the next episode!
Looking Good! I think the fighter should keep his little mates in the Fluval tank. Doesn't seem like they are having any fights and they add movement. Shrimp for the nano ;)
I assume this is your home, if so does the wall absorb moisture from your open tanks OR does that even happen? All of my tanks are closed but want to try an open aquarium
Hi love the video and scape. Do you find the choice of tropica plants limit your scapes. I find as a company I don't really have good success with there plants. Especially 1.2 grow stuff, that always melts for me.
Hi Courtney. I’ve never had issues with Tropica plants. I’ve been using them almost exclusively for over 12 years with great success. If they’re melting it’s either an issue with your set up and / or you’ve bought an unhealthy plant from the retailer (too long on the shelf).
I like how you used these massive elements combined with rather elegant plants. I'm sure this will look beautiful once it matured. Keep it up :) Nimrod looks a bit bloated. I'm sure you noticed, too. If you want to, I'll give you some tips which can help to reduce this. I would completely understand if you don't want me to. Just answer this comment and I'll reply as soon as I notice your answer.
Hello George, i love your videos. My question is, what is the underlay of the tank? It seems to float. Looks great. Thank you and many greetings from Germany.
Good video gorge, looking for the second chapter. Regard your betta y think he should be keep with the tetras as long as both of them don't attack each other, I always feel kind of sad about bettas being alone. Cheers from Argentina 🇦🇷
Excellent scape again George! With regards to Nimrod, keep the tank mates in. When I had my Betta, Nigel, he had 12 neons in there and they were all fine. Just creates more activity in the tank. No problems at all. I’d keep them, but there’s really no benefit to the fish either way, is there? Makes no odds to Nimrod!
Hi George, thanks to subscribing to your channel & being inspired by your vids, i have just tried my hand at a planted non CO2 Aquascape. Its a day old. Fingers crossed. Oh 1 more thing..how long after planting do i wait before adding livestock..thanx
Good video, nice scape. When you use the Twinstar 600s in this set up or other tanks do you have any problems with algae on the wood that's near the surface? If so, how do you take care of it?
Did water ever drip from the end of that driftwood? I imagine that eventually capillary action would draw water up and to the end of the wood and cause a mess on the floor.
Can you explain where you can find platy in the wild. And can you bio a tank for platy. There are so many live Bering fis sword tail guppy mollys. Small fish
Hi George, it's always a pleasure watching your work. It's kinda natural the way you do it. How long actually the soil can last before loosing its performance (such as for this kind of setup)?
George! Beautiful is an understatement! I have a problem with my tank though.. I got a 120 gallon tank with South American fish only, angelfish, festivus cichlid, Royal pleco, green phantom, 3 beacon, and a bushy nose pleco, and few panda corys. My creativity has been suffering lately.. I'm bad at aquascaping. What would you recommend ? I'm pro nature. Natural looking. What would you add or remove from my livestock? I also have bunch of anubia nana plants. Thank you!!
Hi, George. Been somewhat absent, sorry. Some probs - no health issues, luckily. Nice project, this one. IMHO the stone just left of centre is too imposing and cuts the view of the beautiful wood arrangement - try taking it out and see if it doesn't improve overall aspect or a much smaller round'-ish' stone in its' place; if not: easy - just set it back... Isn't there a little too much current in the bettas' present setup? They can be worn down by fighting the current... Looking forward to the second part of this scape. Cheers!
Thanks Siggi. I like the rock. It’ll be softened when the plants grow. I think the flow is ok for a short finned Betta. Plenty of quiet areas in there with such high plant density 👍
If there's no aggression between nimrod and his tankmates then leave everyone in there. I think the tank would look kind of lonely with less fish in there. Looks pretty lively and and is nice to watch. Do you ever drill the wood with holes to fit the plants through?
I tried planting dry and it is easier as the plants seems to grip better to dry substrate. I think Nimrod should stay with his mates too because life is much better when you've got somebody to share it with haha
Hi George! Just discovered Aquascaping a couple of weeks ago and enjoying watching all of your videos! Very well done! Quick question. Getting ready to completely renovate a 40 gallon tank into an aquascape tank. I noticed in this video, the Tropica substrate completely covered the bottom of the tank and is some of your aquascapes you place sand in the front area. What is your decision making process for preferences per what you are trying to accomplish with each design?
Thanks Michelle. I usually use Tropica Soil and a cosmetic sand foreground or exclusively Tropica Soil. I’ll occasionally use Tropica Plant Substrate underneath a sand/gravel if I want to show a less expensive alternative to people.
Hey George Nice video i enjoy your scaping learning proces Nice camera work step by step planting 😊. i m using now tropica Premium nutrition and specialised plant care but my substrate is basic small dark gravel i have some yellow leave s and Anubias petit do i need use more iron? i do 1 pump per day 1 day Premium one day specialized in 74 l tank and have lots plants non CO2 injection any tips?
Just a general question. Is there any possible light option for a 300l/ 82(?) gal. tank with 100cm in width? I'm aiming for 45 lumen/ liter. And all the fixtures I can find not even closely match the ca. 13500 Lumen I need.
Hi George, as always you're videos are a source of inspiration ! As i am living in the Netherlands i am curious to what supplier or store to turn to if I want to for order exactly this tank and cabinet, could you pass my request through to the manufacturer ?
Hi George, I'm still waiting for the right moment and time (it's a space issue at the moment) to start my very own aquarium but in the meantime your videos are really inspiring! And for a beginner like me there is a lot to learn from your videos but they are always understandable. So, thanks for that! I have a question regarding the aquarium u use in this video, THE AQUASCAPER 600 from Evolution Aquarium. I think you're sort of an ambassador for this brand ;-). I would like to know if you have any idea where I can buy these aquaria in The Netherlands. Google Search can't help me out en so is the website of Evolution Aquarium. Again; I love your work, keep on going and thank you for the inspiration! - Michiel
My betta, Drac, really showed his fun personality after being added to a community tank instead of alone. Also are classic george hands similar to jazz hands only much cooler?
Leave nimrod with the tetras he needs friends, i have just bought a betta and some gold tetra, they share with 3 cherry barbs, and so far all is well 😀
Great video! Looking forward to see next one in this series :) Question: Do you use battery backup to keep your pumps and heaters running during power outages, especially when you're away from home? I live in the north east US, where winter storms are known to knock out power, and my apartment relies entirely on electricity (no gas, no oil, no wood). This can mean no way of heating up water for a cup of tea, not to mention a whole aquarium.
Can you dry plant like that with any substrate? Fluval stratum? I'm a newbie to aquascaping and am loving your content. I really like how you explain everything in great detail. For instance, the low tech nano tank video (which is what i'm starting off with, you explained almost everything that went into it. Looking forward to this journey into the hobby.
Also, one thing that would be really helpful is when describing plants in a tank you put an arrow pointing to them as you name them off. That is if you do not describe them before planting which you typically do!
As long as Nimrod isn’t being picked on a lot of times in my experience the Betta can get picked on and tail nipped but I see no harm in tankmates and it’s enrichment for the Betta to chase a little and flair as long as he isn’t doing harm to steal your line Cheers!
Amazing! Really enjoy your videos! Im curious though, how much would a setup like this cost (including tank, stand, filtration, hardscape, plants, substrate)?
Hey George I really love to aquascape and I have one aquascape. How much do your tanks cost because I find that they are extremely expensive to set up.
They are a funky looking piece of kit! I have been looking for a decent yet not too hard hitting tank to make my first move with aquascaping. It would be slightly cheaper to buy the materials to build one, but then I would have to purchase the filter, heater and lighting on top so it's not that much difference, rocks and hard places dammit!!
Didn’t like those stones at the beginning but now I see 😉. Gonna be 👍🏻. Leave Nimrod with the tetras. They can live together, I have 40 tetras, 6 corydoras and I huge plakat betta in a 120 liter tank and they getting along just fine. In fact, the betta mind his own business and the tetras aren’t interested in him 🤷🏻♀️.
What I appreciate about your vids is the advice you give. Explaining not only what you’re doing but why you are doing it. The honest transparency. Just wanted to encourage you. 👍🏻 love all your vids mate
Thanks Mark! Really appreciate that 😊
i tottaly agree
Very nice George. Love the extra camera work too. Great teamwork!👍😍
For a moment i thought tommy in george's video was the Green Aqua Tommy 🤣🤣
I love watching you pull a nature aquascape together in a brand new tank. Folks can always go back and pause to get the same type of look or feeling in their own tanks. Looking forward to the follow up on this tank.
Hello Tommy, you handsom little fella, 😘 puppy kisses for you.
Thanks SRL. Tommy gives kisses back !😊🐶❤️
I like these classic nature tanks way more than the crazy hardscape that are taking over the last years. Great video as always! Greeting from Germany
Danke 😊
The gallery is looking great.. Looking forward to part 2👍👍👍
Thanks Vinnie 😊
You had me instantly with your dog. You can tell a lot about a person with how they treat animals and strangers.

Hi George,
Tropica plants are awesome 😍, I use this plants in my tank.

That is a comfortable looking house. That aquarium will add to the beauty of that home. Thank you once again for a excellent video on aquascaping. Even though the tank next the one you are doing is a showpiece as well. I enjoyed watching!
Not for nothing, but you are a genius!
Thanks so much
Always love your work of arts george..inspirational n educational as always..learn a lot from you..thanks for this awesome video
Thanks Shaidi 😊
This is THEE most helpful video i have ever watched in my preparation for my first proper aquascape. Thank you so much 👌
Thx for your content George. Greets from Germany!

1:44 I see the BiOrb Air in the background! Can't wait for you to scape that George! Looking forward to the vivarium/terrarium/florarium series. And as always, great content and scape on this video. Love it!
I’m excited too 😊
Gorgeous scape as usual! Just discovered that a shop near me in the states sells tropica plants. I can't wait to visit them and see what they have.
Great to hear! 😊
Like it very much! That branch sticking out would be a blast of fun for my cat Chewbacca! Best regards, Armando Ruas
Cheers Armando 🐱 🌲 😊
Great size tank, love the Cinematography. Can not wait for the trip to Adam Paszczela's Studio. Good job Guys and keep updating.

Very nice , love that hard scape.
Thanks Steve 😊
Great video George. Looking forward to the next part. I've started using the Evolution Aqua theaquascaper - Liquid Plant Food and really pleased with the results so far!
Good to hear! Thanks 🙏
Great sunday morning video!
Another fantastic video George! You're a wealth of knowledge, thanks for sharing 👍
You’re welcome 😊
I love me some "super" low-iron, "super" clear glass, it's "super" nice and I'm "super" excited!
Super comment! 😊
as always love watching you work and definetly keep the tank mates for Nimrod :)
Thank you 👍🏻
Here is another amazing scape George, looks really good I can’t wait to see when it’s finished

Great work as always.

Cheers Pete! Crypt and Bucephalandra combo for the win 👍
Great Aquascape George. Looking absolutely Magnificent! I will suggest that if Nimrod isn't Bothering other fishes then keep him with tankmates. They do interact you know. Can't wait for Part 2.( Black Neon tetra would look great in this setup)
Thanks 🙏
Great job as usual George! I think Nimrod should stay in the Flex by himself! All that space to himself. Luckiest Betta alive. To slow down the flow of the outpipe nozzle I fed pieces of sponge with tweezers from the back. I’m sure Nimrod would appreciate the low flow it creates. Well done mate.
Cheers Chris 😊
Love it! 2nd filmer made a difference.
Cheers mate 👍
I quite liked the roots on their own. Very nice shape and flow. Big rocks covered most intetesting part of it which would be a great focal point. I would have liked far smaller rocks to complement the wood with finer details in the front.
Nevertheless i know it will look great when fully finished and mature. 👍
Cheers mate 👍
I have Parva in my planted tank too George....definitely a slow grower! I’ve been using s.repens recently. Having some great success with that & it’s covering the majority of the bottom now which I’m buzzing about🙌🏻🌱Great video once again btw👍🏻
Thanks mate. Great to hear!
Haven't watched the full video yet, but I'm sure I'll like what I see.
Love the "above the rim"! Appears all went well with the selection. Would rather have seen said selection perform more duties in the scape.
Interesting and very nice video.
Yet again George is on form....
Cheers mate 👍
Great video George and Bryan. The different shots were cool and the semi-finished scape looks great! Excited to see what you do with the large open area at the back... Sadly Tropica does not have any dealers here in Australia and many species you use are unavailable.
Finally scaping the 600. You've been leaving it open as a tease for a while now. Looking forwards to what's going into the background and for the red colander moment at the end. Hopefully it's coming mid week. Awesome Sunday scape. Glad you stuck to your style. No trident!!! Just saying!

So excited George to see the finished product. Have you decided the type of lifestock you will put in the tank?? Looking forward to see part 2.
Thanks Benji. Undecided on livestock at the moment! 😊
You moved the tanks around in your home :o. I noticed it because in your other videos that's where the Flex and nano was. As always great aquascape.
Well spotted 😊
I'm excited!
Me too! 😀

Superb video 💓💓💓
Cheers Vishal 👍🏻
Looks great.
Great composition! Excited to see what the foreground will look like once grown in🌱. I'm wondering what plants you will choose for the background? Can't wait for the next episode!
Cheers mate
I hope you get the time to do the biorb from oase. Superb job btw!
Thanks 🙏
Let Nim keep his tank mates forsure. They look beautiful in the plants
Beautiful scape yet again George. Why do you top off with powder out of interest? Thanks
I just had some leftover from an old set up. I could have used normal type.
Looking Good! I think the fighter should keep his little mates in the Fluval tank. Doesn't seem like they are having any fights and they add movement. Shrimp for the nano ;)
Cheers Luke 😊
I assume this is your home, if so does the wall absorb moisture from your open tanks OR does that even happen? All of my tanks are closed but want to try an open aquarium

Yes - if you search through my library you should see a couple 👍🏻

Hello George, i love your videos. My question is, what is the underlay of the tank? It seems to float. Looks great. Thank you and many greetings from Germany.
What would count as too close to the glass it makes maintenance difficult? I have a 10 gallon and my hard scape is pretty close
When using Ada Substrate?Does it make the Ph drop?
Yes
Good video gorge, looking for the second chapter.

Ok random comment/question...haha. Is this the same wall where you also have the betta aquascape?
Not any more...
My betta, Drac, really showed his fun personality after being added to a community tank instead of alone. Also are classic george hands similar to jazz hands only much cooler?
🤣
Leave nimrod with the tetras he needs friends, i have just bought a betta and some gold tetra, they share with 3 cherry barbs, and so far all is well 😀
Great video! Looking forward to see next one in this series :) Question: Do you use battery backup to keep your pumps and heaters running during power outages, especially when you're away from home? I live in the north east US, where winter storms are known to knock out power, and my apartment relies entirely on electricity (no gas, no oil, no wood). This can mean no way of heating up water for a cup of tea, not to mention a whole aquarium.
Thanks!
No, no power back up here. Thankfully power cuts are very rare. Maybe one a year and only for a few seconds!
Yes, you can dry plant into any substrate. Thanks wes 👍
As long as Nimrod isn’t being picked on a lot of times in my experience the Betta can get picked on and tail nipped but I see no harm in tankmates and it’s enrichment for the Betta to chase a little and flair as long as he isn’t doing harm to steal your line Cheers!
Cheers Ryan 👍
George Farmer and you still dropped the cheers strong counter... game on
Cheers mate... 😀
Amazing! Really enjoy your videos! Im curious though, how much would a setup like this cost (including tank, stand, filtration, hardscape, plants, substrate)?
Around £1000-1500 depending on specifics
those buces look amazing in this layout 😍 do you plan on adding background plants to all that empty substrate space in the back?
Thanks and yes 😊👍
Hey George I really love to aquascape and I have one aquascape. How much do your tanks cost because I find that they are extremely expensive to set up.
The Aquascaper 600 and cabinet is £399
Wow cool how much did all of the plants and hardscape cost with it? Mine has coast around $1000 I am from the us
Would you scape a salt water tank ? Most are very bland.
Maybe one day but not in the near future.
anyone know where i should take my guppy colony as there breeding too fast and are going to over run my tank(UK)
Sehr Schöne!
Danke 😊
Have you ever done a scape with lava rock?
Hi Mark, yes, I did an iwagumi in Switzerland in Dec. “Search Swiss Aqua Shop aquascape”
Is that a biorb in the distance, my little eye spies?
biOrb Air 60 👍
They are a funky looking piece of kit! I have been looking for a decent yet not too hard hitting tank to make my first move with aquascaping. It would be slightly cheaper to buy the materials to build one, but then I would have to purchase the filter, heater and lighting on top so it's not that much difference, rocks and hard places dammit!!
I also go for the “classic george farmer plants” 😁
Очень красиво смотрится!!!!
Please use some red stem plants so it can stand out from the rest of your tanks ! :)
Thanks Martine 😊
someone having a drink with a villa sweater , but not Toby ;P
GOOD👍👏👏👏😄
