So this dude has all these tanks, children, a wife, a tidy looking house and garden, a successful youtube channel, looks buff and probably a job to finance this. Awesome time-management!!
@@MDFishTanks These are incredible! I've just discovered aquascaping as of a few days ago and feel inspired to start my own tank. I have no concept of what kind of maintenance is required for one of these, how much time would I expect to spend on say a 22 gallon tank?
And now I'm really surprised. I've been watching MD's channel for a few months now but never went as far back as this. What a progress he's made in only three years! And I'm not even talking about the 688K subscribers or his brand new studio. An absolute chapeau bas!
How does this guy find the time to work full time, be a dad, keep a dozen amazing tanks, keep a youtube channel, push mad weight at the gym? This guy is like the Dwayne Johnson of the aquascaping world. Great interview George!!
That's amazing that you were his inspiration and now look at him. I can imagine how nervous and excited he was to meet you, the person that started it all for him.
Thanks for the tour George. My two favorite scapers in one place lol. I cant believe Mark's only been on the tube for 8 months. Seems like I've been watching him for years.
What a great youtube collaboration! MD always has some really cool stuff going on. Also really like how it's a longer video. Really inspirational and informative as always!
As someone who is new to this, I think they are amazing! I first had a tropical tank about 40 years ago as a young teen. It was all about the fish, ornaments and air stones. How times have changed. The aquascapes and even the fish have evolved in the hobby. So beautiful, and very inspiring
My two favourite youtubers collaborating on an awesome aquascaping tour video!! Great content guys! Looking forward to seeing the bromance develop in the future.😊👍
Been subscribed to MD for a while now and I get excited every time I see he uploads and drop what I’m doing to watch. His low tech tanks took away those feelings of overwhelm that I had from researching the hobby. Glad to see him on this channel.
Thank you George for visiting with Marc. I think it's great what he does! See the inspiration you put out? I too really started with the plant side of the hobby because of you. So cool. I love his first paludarium. Which fish for the new scape is always difficult for me😏 Thanks again George for all the inspiration and keeping us all scaping 👍👍👍
2021, as a man who has recently fallen in love with aquascaping working on my first 2 scales at the same time, this video brings me great joy. Both of you are my two biggest influences. I hate that y'all are across the pond. Im glad this video was made. To watch Mark stumble to George that he was his influence was amazing. I got goosebumps for sure. I love the both of you. Thank you.
I’m loving the low tech tank videos! I’m just getting started in the hobby, so it’s nice to see you can be successful without spending a crazy amount ❤️
This was really nice listening to you two just talk about Marc's tanks and seeing them all together in one video. I've been following Marc already since last year sometime, I think. Enjoyed this a lot. Thank you.
I had subscribed to Mark's channel after you set up your bowl and i've learnt so much from his experiments that i set up a windowsill bowl as an experiment of my own with some wild shrimps and guppies. Finally glad to hear his voice and have an insight behind the scenes. Awesome to see such an influence that is being shared in this community!
Thoroughly enjoyed that cheers lads! Seriously inspiring. Soft spot for the paludarium/terrarium style, always wanted to try, love the caves you’ve created with them so interesting and natural looking. Keep up the great work mate
Fantastic video, as always, George! And shoutout/thanks to MD Fish Tanks as well! Pardon the lengthiness of this comment but... Wow. I've just, just gotten into the hobby; no scapes of my own yet. However, I've been subscribed to both of you for a short while now and binging all your videos in my free time. This video upload was perfectly timed for me! So great to see you two together. I know spreading the knowledge and inspiring others is important to you both, and I can certainly say that I have been lucky enough to receive that from your content. One of the things that stood out to me was what you mentioned @ 20:00 . I, of course, was inspired by Mark's style of no CO2 (and other low-tech choices), but the water in my area is very hard. I'm glad I heard this before trying it with a ton of expensive plants in one of my early projects! Also, 20:36 discussion about the betta fight was hilarious! Haha, "......moving on." Perfect. How do I enter to win a free, complete DOOA aquascape from you, George? Did I miss how you plan to decide that? If I'm in the states, am I still eligible? :D P.S. My favorite scape of Mark's is the bigger non co2, no filter, no fert tank. I don't know how he does it, but it looks amazing. Goals.
What a natural! I did very well setting up tanks right off the bat but this blows me away! Fantastic! I love the low maintenance! Fantastic showcase George!
George , started watching your videos about a year and half now , started with my 55 gallon and now I’ve got 6 tanks along with 3 bowls. You’ve inspired me to start aqua scaping as well 👍🏻
Truly Inspired Mark you're awesome.. Thanks for the video George.. some day I'll send you guys the result of your vids in my talks.. Stay amazing as always. :)
Hi George, great video today, I have been really impressed with Mark's approach to scaping and tank set ups. I'm sure he will inspire many people , both newcomers and regular fish keepers. The smaller tanks are really beautiful too , and his videos are made in a relaxing style. Good of you to help expand his site, bravo George.👏👏👏
Thanks for a wonderful video, George. I've been following Mark's channel for a while, and it's great to see you discover it, and connect with him. You are two of my favorite UA-camrs in the hobby. It's a wonderful contrast to have Mark's DIY, low-tech approach, vs your more traditional high-tech style.
No co2 no ferts no heater no push ups, lol. You tube showed me MD after watching one of your vids George, so I took a peak and subbed right away( few weeks ago), cool to see someone so enthousiastic and successful. This is something we can all try sometime , an ADA setup is harder to achieve ( costs). When you have a tank it's nice to experiment with MD s setups. I like DIY but it's gotta look neat and tidy, nicely finished like Marc s. Great vid
If anyone’s wondering, the terrapin tank Mark bought is actually called a “Ciano Tartarium”. I know because I just bought one last week for my own scape lol 😄
Marc's style is so cool and a nice contrast but also pairing with what you do George. I think with all the concerns we face with climate change focusing more on low tech could be a way for us to have less impact on energy usage and consumption. Also his use of cooler water fish and ones that are relatively easy to breed just seems like a sweet way to go. (Of course with the exception of his display tank but he has some nice looking discuss and rummy nose). His aquariums in general have a really natural feel to them. Furthermore, Marc has a great knack for saving money, for example his DIY and discount lights. I have done both low and high tech and enjoy both, but Marc has really inspired me to see if I can get into some even more aesthetically pleasing low tech when I change layouts and equipment in the future. Both of you should keep up some collaboration and friendly competition as this all goes towards community building and is in my opinion one of the nicest things about our hobby. Great video George and good work in reaching out to Marc. Both of you are doing lovely stuff.
Amazing contents It just goes to show that it's not all about the "bucks" you pore into the hobby, but the LOVE you give it... A brilliant idea backed with a few £ can go such a long way... That river hedge tank is SO IMPRESSIVE! Beta tank row-model for ME, coming soon to my house... GOT INSPIRED! Thank YOU George and Mark Stay safe, have fun! Thks for sharing Best regards from Portugal
Thank you, George, for the visit to Marc's fish room. I have been following him for some time so it was great to meet the man and see all the tanks. I was very interested in the discussion on the water parameters. I have medium-hard water here in Hinckley and no problems. I have always expected crypts to melt but they never have yet. I really like Marc's low tech approach. I have 2 low tech tanks and one high tech and it is the high tech that gives the most anxiety.
I’m a bit late on this one, as I’ve only been into aquascaping for a couple of months, but great to see 2 of my favourite content makers together in 1 vid… Really interesting to see behind the scenes on Marks setup (as was then)… Big love from Staffordshire 💙

Awesome, great looking tanks. He has some good stuff on his channel as well. Thanks for making this video George. For the stock I'd suggest the nannostomus mortenthaleri. Beautiful looking fish.
Thanks George, and Marc, for the insight and inspiration! I wonder how many viewers, like myself, have a spare nano laying around and are going to whip it out and give MD's method a go!

So funny seeing MD being serious and going at George's pace, two different styles and approaches to scaping and yet both get amazing results.
Marc - you are very talented. Thanks for sharing this George.
