Great to watch your latest Graham, lots to ruminate on with history and where we all are. We are fortunate that we have all this in this county- We are The Northumbrians!
Thank you for posting this video. I really enjoyed watching it. Really impressed with your set up as well and the setting of your camp. Makes me want to get out and walk / wildcamp the Northumbria Coastal Path . 👍
Thank you very much, I like this little setup, especially in winter when the midges have gone. Glad you’ve been inspired to get out- the coastal path looks a really nice one to tackle, ATB, G 👍
Spot on Graham, looked like a nice chilled out camp, nothing better, good set up too with some great kit you have mate👌. You need to get yourself a trailstar you’ll not regret it, especially when the wind picks up, they shed the wind great, and easy to pitch, good watch mate, atb Mick 👍
Thanks, enjoyed this little camp. Yeah, that trailstar did catch my eye, it looked a quality well thought out bit of kit. I might look at getting one in the New Year. ATB, G 👍👍
@@DeanCoulsonOfficialPage hey, thanks Dean, I’d like to say I miss my hair, but looking back, it looks absolutely terrible😂 Yep, get out and do a bit of wild camping. You know it makes sense, ATB Graham 👍
Yeah Northumberland is actually a pretty special place, hills, moors, caves, history. Plenty of spaces to spend the night outdoors and ponder the universe. And the best pub in the world!
There’s some lovely little places to camp above Rothbury, Simonsides reward exploration I’ve found. If it’s gonna be cold I always try and eat well, no place for salad in a winter bivy! Thanks very much , ATB, Graham 👍
Absolutely outstanding bro👌😎 The set up was class and so was the bants🤣 I noticed that your head torch stated 'Headlamp' on the band. Which is a good thing for me otherwise I would have been tempted to use it on my upper thigh or perhaps as a waist lamp (these are NOT trending I would add😉) Wonderful as always Graham🏆👏
Oh a friend of mountain hopper. I'm sure I put Adrian onto the trailstar. been watching Tony Hobbs for years and he loves his trailstar. Those hill forts I suspect were for something else besides defence. Imagine a fort that can't stand anything other that a week long siege.? No water.
Hello! Tony Hobbs is a good watch, I’m sure his reviews have helped many folk in their decisions. The trailstar looks great. I think you’re right, the hill forts must’ve had a variety of uses besides defence. Defence was probably part of their function though and as you say, they certainly would not stand up to a long siege (mediaeval castle style) but would probably be sufficient enough to put off reading parties et cetera. ATB , Graham, 👍
No, I’ve always used both despite being a tent man at heart. I find hooped bivy is best in winter when there are no insects about. I made the mistake of taking the Alpkit Elan to Harwood in summer and spent the night zipped up because of the midges- very claustrophobic
I wish! I sometiemes wish I'd done my primary degree in archaeology instead of what I did but I'm happy enough where I ended up anyway. Swings and roundabouts!
