Thanks for sharing. I was up there three years ago on a long day out. I didn't walk your route through. It's a wonderful place in good weather. As one of your friends would say "look at the views, wayhay". I was up in the Cheviots the first two weeks of July and so many paths that I walked were unused so I battled long grass and ferns up to my chest. Still had an amazing holiday. Hope you all got back safely, look forward to your next outing.
Thank you, we took a different route back and saved 1/2 mile- much easier. Glad you enjoyed your holiday, as we walked back along the College Valley there were a few holiday rentals that looked like amazing places to stay. Cheers. ATVB, Graham 👍👍
Thanks Jimmy, glad you're liking the reviews! Was a canny shank up like, would've been easier to hike up the College Valley to get there, but a great spot, ATB 👍👍
Morning Graham. Black hag is a beautiful hill. That's the worst route up mind 😅. But it puts hairs on ya chest for sure. I love to see different perspectives on camps. Just watched shauns, another fab channel. You had a beautiful evening to spend time with your pals. Loved the joke by the way 😂. A relaxing watch. Thanks for documenting your camps. 😊
Thanks Emma, it was almost comedic how we looked at the map and chose the worst route up 😂 Shaun Mac was pretty handy for sniffing out the best route on the ground though. The conditions were amazing and it’s been one of my favourite recent camps. Cheers, Graham 👍
Man looked stunning, I know what you mean about restoring the mental balance 👍 Lay off beer and chocolate for a dream free night 😂 Powerful beer by the sound of the tasting notes 😂😂
@@dpimperton Thanks DD, great for your mental health just reconnecting and spending a bit of time in high and lonely places. Lovely beer- I recommend it 😉 Cheers buddy
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks. It turned out to be a beautiful if remote place to spend the night. Really stunning and we got lucky with the weather, ATB, Graham 👍
You’ve all had a great camp out, enjoyed watching. I think you’d give a Freud based counsellor a run for the money in deciphering those dreams of yours😂. A good yomp owa the hills.
Thanks for sharing another video of your adventures. I’m guessing that you might have been better off parking at Kirk Yetholm or that little car park near the bridge. I’m knicking that scrabble joke btw 😂😂. Great video, me and Grace really enjoyed it. Thanks again 🙏
Thank you - there is definitely a better route up there somewhere, perhaps from the college valley or, as you say, Kirk Yetholm. You’re welcome to the scrabble joke 😂. Cheers Albert, thanks for watching, ATB, Graham
Loved the idea of the vid Graham, that's a nice tip of the hat to the Black Hag beer - which I've not had the pleasure of sampling yet. But christ - what a slog up! I'd have given in and pitched up well before hitting that hill 😂 it's a lovely area though, remote and peaceful, and bogy. I do love that Nordisk Telemark, it's an absolute stunner, but sadly not my type of tent, but I do like seeing other people out in theirs, it's very photogenic. Appreciate the mention, thank you 😊 Adrian's tarp set-up was very tasty, but obviously the star of the show was Shaun's Mountain Star, what a good looking beast of a tent! Mention to Shaun that if he pitches it Red, White and Blue, then he should have a nice erection in under 5 minutes. Thread the red pole, then the white pole, then fully attach the blue pole in both grommets - which opens out the tent upper, then secure the red and white poles in their respective grommets, it's as easy as that. Great vid, as always, atb DVS :)
Thanks Donna, couldn't have someone camping out in a Mountain Star without mentioning the Queen of Kuiu! I'll tell Shaun to read your comment. It was a proper slog to get there but I don't think we took the easiest route. We followed (or tried to) the footpatpaths on the OS map when it would have probably been easier to follow the quad tracks. ATVB, Graham 😊👍👍
It was hard going and tbh the paths didn’t really resemble what was on the map. I enjoyed it on the end but I’d take a different route if I go back, ATB, G 👍
Tough old route that Graham. I think the quickest route there is from Mounthooly (I could be wrong). By the way, my wife doesn’t watch my videos either, she probably thinks they’re sh*te 😂
I think you’re right. In the morning we headed for the College Valley and came out at Fleahope. Still a canny walk but a bit easier. Maybe our wives watch our videos in secret 😂😂

Stellar camp - living the dream 👌 "it's interfering with my medication" 😆😆 These need writing down!
Thanks mate, really enjoyed this camp, fantastic conditions and a nice beer review 🍺

Love it, mind you may want to get your dreams checked😂
Yeah, I have some funny old dreams whilst wild camping but tbh I enjoy them 😂 ATB, Graham 👍👍
Morning Graham, Bostin as usual. You and those dreams lol
Thank you very much! Weird dreams 😂
The sausages look amazing 😋 . Proper food yum
Moorhouse Farm shop at Stannington are great for sausages! They’re often just the thing that’s required on a camp! 👍

A good yomp owa the hills.
Thanks Nick, it was a canny yomp ‘n all- more than I’m used to. Perfect conditions up there mind. Haha, I love those dreams 😂
Super looking adventure! I understand the "getting out vs family time" conundrum well.
Yep, it’s a tricky balance sometimes but we do have to take care of ourselves, ATB, Graham 👍
Great hike Graham. Have a wonderful week 😊

I have only done it from Halterburn valley. This route looks hard going from Trowup.

A bit of a hack but it turned into one of the best nights I’ve spent in the Cheviots 👍
