    Great video Mr. Washington. Your presentation of facts and your opinion provide great insight and advice as to who this camera is for and for what cost. My better half and myself both recently purchased the canon r6 and I am still amazed and what only 20 megapixels can accomplish. Watching what the r5c can do is nothing short of amazing. One day both the wife and myself will step up to the R5, with any luck it will be the R5ii...lol.
    As always, keep up the good work and keep'em flying...from the red planet...lol.

    At 6:49 min you mentioned that you can't record 8K at 60 fps. With the V- mount you are using, with the Anton Bauer you can't do it. However, I found the perfect solution. Get an FXLION V- mount battery. Nano One, Nano Two or Nano Three they all support PD (power delivery). I have been doing differently though. I attached the battery on the back of my monitor with an FXLION adapter (Sony to V- mount) in that way your battery is no blocking the view of your screen.
    I have been recording 8K at 60 fps without any problem.
    There are only two brands of V- mount batteries that support PD. FXLION is definitely the best

    Hi everyone, hope you’re well. Need advice: I’m considering the R5C but am concerned about the AF. I already have an Atomos Ninja V - so am I better picking up a regular R5 and using it with the Atomos? This way I retain better AF, Ibis (which will be useful for the photo side) and I’ll have some cinema settings accessible through the Ninja too.
    Second Q would be if recording to the Ninja would still mean huge files?
    Appreciate any advice truly!!

    At 1:46, how did you hold that one handed without any visible signs of struggle? I'm struggling, I've tried with an R5C + 28-70 f2.0, R5 + 28-70 f2.0, S1 + 24-105 f4.0, A1 + 35 f1.2, and all of which I've struggled to keep my arms not shaky from holding it since the first or second hour of shooting on a gimbal. It doesn't affect the image too much, but from what I can see, you handled it effortlessly.

    Hey Brandon. I have Canon R5/R6 cameras with the holy Trinity of RF 2.8L lenses. Wondering what RF lenses you use? I have an opportunity to buy the RF 28-70 F2L, and I am torn. I would like the upgrade but not sure how much better it will be for me. I am living in Asia now and doing mostly photography. When I bought the setup, I was in the USA and doing more video. I wonder if the loss of IS in the RF 28-70 will hurt when I go back to doing video? But then I see you’re using some cinema lenses on your R5C which don’t have IS. So just wondering if you use the RF 28-70 and what you think of it for photo and video?
    Love the channel. New subscriber here. Just watched three videos and plan to watch more. Cheers from Thailand.

    Just like on the R5, Canon didn’t give us CLog2 in the non raw modes. They still say that it can’t take full advantage of that profile, but that just isn’t true. It’s the Canon cripple hammer 🔨 at play. You can thankfully still get CLog2 in post when shooting raw.

    • @bwashmedia
      @bwashmedia  2 роки тому +4

      So I have worked with the clog2 and the shadows are very noisy. I think this is why they didn’t put it directly in the camera. If they did people would just be bashing how bad it is. With a higher megapixel camera like this, shadow noise is always more pronounced.

    So the Anton Bauer Titon Base will not provide enough power for the 8k 60fps with lens support? (The Anton Bauer website says the Titon Base provides 14.4V)
    What will be the best workaround on a gimball to get 8k at 60fps with lens support?

    • @bwashmedia
      @bwashmedia  2 роки тому +1

      So the battery technically does supply enough power but there currently is not a dummy to DTAP cable that will send that power to the camera. The workaround is buying a cable from canon and then attaching a dummy battery to it but it is not very seamless. Working to see if I can get a better solution created.

    Hi Brandon Enrico from Italy. This year I sold my Nikon D850 and 2 Panasonic GH5 and GH5S cameras with their lenses and I bought Canon C70 and R5 C with a single RF zoom for now.
    The question is about ND filters. In C70 there are inside and all is perfect instead R5 C no so If I use it for photo no problem but in video side I ask you what you suggest using RF zoom lenses.

    • @bwashmedia
      @bwashmedia  2 роки тому +1

      I would just pick up a Variable ND Filter for the R5C

      @@ebenatti Ciao Enrico, both Canon and Meike have a solution to both adapt Ef lens on RF mount and have a variable ND system inside the adapter. If you use ef glasses then Meike seems way cheaper and offers also the necessary clear ND (as you would probably need to purchase it anyway) included. Weird also that the quality seems on par if not a touch better on this than the Canon's one.
      Only negative aspects is that at certain strengths of ND has some polarization effects happening, but that's kinda normal with most variable ND.
      I'm also quite tempted by this camera compared to the C70, so would like to ask you using them both which one you tend to use the most for video only shootings?

    • @ebenatti
      @ebenatti 2 роки тому

      @@lucaloschi8958 I used R5 C only a few times so I cannot compare those yet. At now I use C70 for video because of ND and battery more durable. The problem is only the weight where R5 is much more lighter

    • @lucaloschi8958
      @lucaloschi8958 2 роки тому

      @@ebenatti Got it, thanks. As ND I personally use nisi and I find them really not bad at all. Very little color shift, didn't notice much polarization effect, no cross polarization and they also have low loss of contrast when shooting backlit. Great result even without considering their price.
      If I should find a point I would prefer different would be the range of ND, 1 or 1,5 to 5 may be too little in some occasion. Guess they avoided to go too far not to compromise the quality.
      Tilta Mirage mattebox also offers the possibility to have a variable ND in the filter tray and even if seems to be not too bad I don't have experience with it.
      If I would go for the R5c I may even considering the Meike VND.
      That said, may I ask a last question ab the 2 cams?
      Which one you think has the brightest screen?
      C70 is good insight but if running without an external monitor it's really hard to see in direct sunlight even maxing the luminosity +3
