How many Designers are going to go to such an extent to advance their brand? Daniela, you have raised a very essential issue and need in the fashion industry. You would think after all this time this is something that would be addressed. Thank you for doing this! Great job!
I'm sure some Blk Designers are going to the extent but, It's a lot of work that people don't want to pay for. Different color nudes are a problem across many industries. Thank you for your feedback!❤
DIY fabric dyeing is very doable for anyone. I love that you took the time to share the process! I have some tips.....to share! Using hot water as you did in the video would be my suggestion for beginning DIY fabric dyeing. The development of color happens gradually. Allows you to control how dark or light you need it. Boiling method works well if you are not a patient person however the development of color happens fairly quickly. You can do it one of two ways....each way is effective! Last Tip: To avoid the unevenness of color.....keep the fabric moving so that the dye pigments do not settle in one area more than another.
I found this video completely randomly while looking for another dye process...but just want to say..I am so happy to have watched this. It's awful there isn't a more easily obtainable way to make lovely shaded "nude" fabrics. Congratulations on a terrific test!!
omg it turned out great. I tried dying white illusion mesh black with the non synthetic rit because its what I had on hand. after 6 hours.... hahaha it just all washed out the mesh was still white as hell. The synthetic dye is a must
I have been checking Joann’s (online) for months waiting for their darker tones to restock. Decided to call today and the lady said they’ve discontinued the other tones. Why do that when it’s highly needed? Thanks so much for this video! 🙏🏾♥️💐
This is amazing! I never imagined that various mesh and tulle could appear so light, but actually perfectly blend with such lovely darker complexions! I'm fair skinned. Most companies don't make "nude" fabric that is light enough even for me. lol Learned a lot about dying from this video. Thank you, truly!
Though I enjoyed seeing the process that you went through in dyeing each mesh to compliment skin tone including making sure there was a yellow undertone and red undertones. I really wish that we were at a place where all of the shade ranges were available from the majority of the manufacturers. That being said, you are a very talented designer.
Maybe you should get into being a fabric consultant with people who make these mesh so they can make products that suit melanated women. I am a light skinned Spanish women but I know other olive skinned women probably have the same problem you are expressing.
This was SUPER helpful. I’m actually planning on just dying some toe socks for a Halloween outfit and since it’s probably going to be cold I figured oh toe socks but they have ZERO brown socks which is frustrating so I opted for white and to dye and found your video. Appreciate it.
Needed a break from true crime for a bit so I'm here. Also looking for ideas/options for crafting with tulle and similar fabrics for wedding/anniversary items. I'm white though but I was curious and did not know where to start on how to dye tulle and similar fabrics. Hi Daniela. Loved the video!
One of my relatives in the 1970s used strong brewed tea to give laces a warm hue instead of white, the longer the laces steeped in the teas the darker it got. Hours. One could do trial swatches using cups of mugs of teas in different strengths. This before trying to dye big piece of fabric. Maybe coffee would work too. Some leaves, herbs, roots give colors too. Natural fabrics take color. Not sure about polyester, never try.
Do you have a suggestion for adjusting the color of a small piece of illusion on a non-brush dress? I have this fantastic dress that has a small illusion mesh patch in the cleavage area, but it’s way too light. I’ve been looking for a solution, but no luck so far.
The way I gasped when you put that first yellow one up to your chest!! We never have stuff like this readily available! I can't tell you how happy I am that you made this! Thank you so much Daniela!!🫶🏾 My lingerie is about to be next level!
I’ve been following your journey for quite some time. I hope everything has turned around as they seem to have been going. Will you be relaunching your Patreon?
Hello madam, thank you for sharing this precious tips with us ❤ I want to know if I will have the same results with using Rit Dye in dark brown color instead of chocolate brown ? Many thanks in advance for your reply 🙏🏾
Wow, thank you for the video. I’m looking for a way to tint a bodysuit which already have rhinestones glued on. 😢 I think I will try it with coffee or tee. Have someone done this before?
Thank you so much for this tutorial, amazing as usual 🙌🏾 Can I also say, this background music is smooooth! Had me boppin the whole time. Such a good vibe! ❤️
Hey Daniela. Ok...my brother and his wife are coming to Colorado to pick me up and take me to Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. They will also take me to Mood. Any other fabric store you recommend?
Try Chic on 38th I think or Moon, or Gray’s linen (fab!) on 37th (same street as Mood) the whole district from 38 to 36 between 7th and 8th Ave is chocked FULL of fabric stores, have fun!
Hi, thanks for posting this! I know this question is a year later, but do you have any advice for mesh that is already sewn into a dress? Can it be spot dyed or does it need to be removed and resewn??
Daniela, thank you for doing this video. I am light skin and still have issues with getting a match. I think that you could make this a full brand idea for your business. Just saying… you are solving a problem that needs a resolution. 🔥 you have the video as proof of being first to do it so just put it in writing as a patent or something.
Daniela, I feel yah girl. IMO it seems that the fabric designers and makeup companies or either intentionally or not intentionally discriminating against black and brown skinned people. And for this to still be the case in 2022 is a real shame! I mean it's not like all of the sudden black, dark, and brown skinned people just appeared one day ago or something. So for me it's like why am I shopping at a place that's either intentionally or not intentionally discriminating against you guys for no apparent reason. You guys should be able to just walk into a fabric store and pick fabric up off of the shelf like us white people do or go to any makeup counter or store and be able to find your shade just as easily as white people do. This is not to say that dying fabric is not a good skill to have in your pocket or that it's not fun but I guess what I'm saying is that these colours should be READILY ACCESSIBLE for all skin types and shades.
It's an all skin colour issue many different tones to skin we whites arnt all the same shade. I m so over colour victimization. Great your showing people how to do this just leave race out of it.
Are you lost? This video is addressing brown and dark skin tone issues. Why would I know about your white skin tone issue’s? Furthermore, if it was such a huge problem why isn’t there a video from white folks solving your issue? As far as I’m concerned you’re the one pulling the race card. 🙄
You do exquisite work🤎. Excellent dye job, but it's ashamed that you need to do it. Honestly, I was thrilled just to see that they now have three different shades of melanated Band-Aids at the drug stores...Lord Help🤷🏾
We need to do it because white folks own everything so, that their default. They lack understanding of everyone else. That why they group us in "People of color"

It is so great to see illusion and nude fabrics that can match our various shades! Just beautiful - cannot wait to see a finished garment using it!

Wow that was awesome! I had no idea how much work was involved in color matching fabric to skin tones. Great exercise thanks!
Yes it's lot of work hence why its neglected.

I definitely agree. General brown colors should be available
You are the GOAT!! I’m making a gown for a film festival and was struggling to find mesh that wouldn’t make me look ashy. 😭😭

I can’t believe your video popped up first in my search. It’s EXACTLY what I was looking for
This is so helpful I always wonder how big designers get the exact skin tone of the client

Can i dye fully beads tulle? Will it ruin the beads
Hey! Thanks for the information! Can you dye mesh that is attached to a piece of clothing without dying the whole thing?
Wow! That was a perfect match. Great job as always 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Is it possible to do this for a dress that’s already made
Great video !!!! We needed this !!!!!!!
Glad it was helpful!
The end result is absolutely gorgeous. Is there a substitute for the ArtMinds yellow and pink dye?
I absolutely love this!! Awesome seeing you're process and getting such a perfect product at the end of this video.
Thanks for this tutorial ma. Please, what are the names of the yellow and red dyes- the products to be specific.
Wow you did a fantastic job!

At 3:33 min she shows that the dye she use are for synthetic fabrics nylon polyester and acrylic 💖
I think you can save and reuse the dye bath. I like the colors.

Should the mesh be doubled when sewing it?

I just bought a rhinestone appliqué the mesh is white but I need it pink can I still dye it with out the dye staying on the rhinestones ?
Thanks sooo much for sharing your knowledge!!❤️❤️❤️
hI FROM FRANCE ! thank your for your video I have a question if I have 2 meters to dye, what will be the quantity?
The white tulle with yellow is my exact skin tone. It looks so good 🙂
Do you offer this as a service? I need this done for a couple of my dresses
is it possible to use the mesh that's used to make hd lace wigs?
Can you share where you get the 2 way illusion mesh fabric (the swatches you tested at the end)? It was perfect😍😍😍
YESS I NEED THIS❤️❤️❤️
EXCELLENT VIDEO!!! Very very helpful

Yes, definitely try and see. You only learn to trial and error.❤
I have been waiting for this. Yesssssss
You can also use brewed tea and coffee to dye with.
I think tea and coffee work best with cotton. She is working with synthetics which are impossible to dye with tea and coffee.
@@haddiewillsburg1453 tea and coffee can dye synthetics', I have done it before.

The directions tell you to add dish soap to the dye bath , this gives better saturation .
If you can't see IT,
IT is the one.
Thank you for this! Super helpful 🙏🏾
I am so tired of wearing not really nudes. I'll definitely have to try this out. Thanks :-)

Do u know what’s the best way to dye pink tulle to white
@@ayahz.x2577 you bleach it
You’d think that by now smh We have to do our OWN thing! Go for it!
There is a brand called ta-osh that does custom dyed meshes and elastics
Thank you for sharing!
What was the brand used for the undertone dye?
Don't concern yourself with the brand of dyes. Just use colors or stick with the brand dye for all colors
Wow
You are brave Sis putting hot water in plastic. You still rock though!
I was impressed with the quality of plastic. It held up the water really well.
