I've been living with 1 key that eats a battery every week since I bought the car. I've refused to pay the dealer and I can't find ANYONE in my area that will mess with it. This is wonderful news!!
There is antenna on the rear bumper support bar, if this is faulty, comfort access wont work for the trunk. As well some models have slider into the glove box that disables CA for the trunk on the E9X platform.
Hi, i have a same issue… comfort access worked normal and one day stopped working. On diagnostics, it shows a rear antenna error (probably the one on the rear bumper). I wonder if the solution to the problem is replacing that antenna or something else?
Andrew is the kind of guy who buys a cow to make a glass of milk 😝 I'm like that too lol,you should see my one time use welders and circular saws. Great work
When the price of a one off new key from the dealer is half the price of the equipment...I always feel that it's going to pay for itself pretty quick...if...if you work on the same type of vehicle a lot.
My car used to have comfort access. The previous owner had it disabled at the dealer because gutter people can scan your key and drive your car away without the key. I’m glad I don’t have it anymore.
i have 2 original keys both with CA. the boot opening should work when the fob is close enough even with doors locked. i rarely use my key fob CA ftw. just make sure got 2032 spares. i wonder if you can fob clone with bimtool
They have a function to read to key data and then write key data, but i dont know if it will wook. I might try it soon. To my understanding the chips on the keys are not writeable wirelessly. So god knows how it works. Would be amazing if they had some instructions..... lol
The risk of bricking things always adds a bit of excitement. Out of interest, if those tools hack the firmware to get keys added, what happens if you update the CAS with ISTA-P and it puts proper firmware back on?
The key remains assigned in memory, an update will just re-lock the CAS so next time you want to make a key you'll need to do the programming again to get the key info ;)

Hey guys. The amp in my e39t has shit the bed. Whats the easiest and cheapest way to bypass this lol. Can i run a headunit speaker output into the amps hu output (where sound goes into the amp)? Does it passively pass through if i dont power the amp? I assume ill run into impedance problems and such if i try to output directly to the main woofer from the amps speaker outputs. Not that keen to take apart panels to replace speakers just yet or fork out for a headunit. So was gonna leave a bt one in the boot if i could lol.

No - You CAN erase the transponder data but.. It's FAR easier to program a virgin key than a 'used key'. Virgin keys are $15 USD on Aliexpress. A used key will need to either have the transponder de-soldered and a new one soldered in ($4 per transponder chip and you should use either solder tweezers or a hot air station) OR you can purchase a PCF79xx Unlocker, or Xhorse VVDI PROG Programmer, and fiddle around with that to erase the data from the transponder. As you can see, you're better off buying a virgin key!!!
it doesn't put dodgy firmware on the CAS it changes to firmware to version lower than Istep 45. So many so called professionals haven't a clue what's really going on. If you have a problem and brick a module doesn't matter what tool you did it with the repair is the same.
Hey i am new to the bmw thing. I lost my key but i have one done by bmw. my question is without the coding, would you be able to pair a new key to the car and for the car to start? or coding have to be done first for the car to recognize the fob to start?
Cas3++, lucky you did not brick the module doing this not using a battery stabiliser. It doesn't hack the cas, it downgrades it, hacking would more apply to f series and fem modules.
Ive lost my ford key an watched about 50 videos nothing is ckesr to make a new key i swaoped the ecu and coil ring around ignition for key with ut to find out the pump also has a transponer on it whicch ive put old stuff back to make a key to fit it and cant find anything i kmow what will do the job
"We have a ke... we have a King having a poo" 🤣🤣. Is that going to make it to a t-shirt lol? FYI, most modules in these things need the ignition on to recode or read them properly.
The CAS has 10 key positions with key IDs pre-written to them. BMW has a database with these pre-written ID's so that, if you need a new key, they can write one with the exact same ID. If you have your own tool, like the VVDI, BMW Explorer, CGDI, or many of the others, this doesnt really matter since you're writing your own key ID's into the CAS and you can easily do an "all keys lost" which wipes all key data and allows you to start fresh with another 10 :-). Of note, you can only have 2 active Comfort Access keys at a time.
I wanted to know if i can program a used key to my car E92, i have the key fob from donor car with it’s cas from bmw E92 and both cars are keyless comfort access and i wanted to program that key to work on my car is it possible?
