When programming keys you shouldn’t pick the next one in line because if they order key from dealer it will go into the next slot ( which is the one you used ) always better to go to a higher number like 8 or 9
That's exactly what must of happend to me! The old owner of my car must of used the dealer slot. I've now had a key made from the BMW dealer that will not start my car. Can I use the software to re write the key?

You are the reason I brought my xhorse everything and got rid of my old cutter. xhorse has the integration. They have done great with the obd tool. Just a few more updates and it will be perfect.
For the 52-pin socket orientation, at 5:40 in the video, pin1 is at the lower left corner which should be matched to the onboard chip with the cut off corner. Don't use the arrow corner as a reference.

Thank You for making this video detailing the reading and writing of the MCU bin file. I got a Z3 EWS that no longer works . Easier to reprogram a new EWS with the bin file than to remove the Elmos 10029A IC.

I got a key from Amazon it came with a XT27 chip instead of the PCF7935.... the xt27 is usable in a bmw but needs to be cloned first to a pcf7935 setting inside the chip, the ak90 can not do that! I had the same problem you did at first basically, I spent an hour figuring that out hahaha but I now have PCF7935 chips on the way here and I'll be good to go I'm hoping!

I tried to do 2006 Mini Cooper. Ews 3+. Using im508,Xp400pro and apb114. It read eeprom. Then add key to file but would not save after add key. So I was unable to write file with key back into ews. Has anyone else experienced this?
Just an FYI, you don't have to re-read the EWS with the key in the slot. It's only repeating what you already did when you first read the EWS without the key in it. Read the EWS, the Read the key and you're ready to program it. You don't have to repeat reading the EWS with the key in the slot. Save a little time anyway. Great video.
I did this today on a ews3 everything showed up successful read ok wrote 2 keys ok wrote back on ews ok …I still haven’t tested the keys because the car is not here but when I go to ews analyze it’s not showing up the slots I used still shows up new but when I read the key it says the slot number and the vin and mileage etc……so is that normal? I will test tomorrow afternoon to see if the keys work
Yes thats fine .. they should work.. if the car has too many slots already its better to not write back the position of the key.. you can do that in write ews .. select key positions you want to write and connect adapter and write key positions back to od46j chip

Hi and thanks for the tutorial ;) I followed carefuly all the steps, but when I check the "virgin" key after writing on it, It shows the new key number (7) and not the 86 as showed when was a virgin key anymore, but the KM and VIN numbers are empty... what did I do wrong? Follwed carefully each step... The key stills blank today as didn´t have time to mill the blank key so din´t test it but every video about this shows the new key with VIN and KM numbers....

I guess that the software of the AK comes from a previous version, as I did read a PDF with instructions, same version as mine and showing also these empty slots... What’s the difference between this method and the procedure of matching the keys with the car, turning ignition on and off and pushing the buttons? One is for programming transponder into immo and other one is only to match remote?

Regardless you can still over write keys. And you can do whatever keys for number 1 slot and they will all work.

you do not have to write anything back unless you are erasing keys from the system just write your key and then plug back in ews and start the car.

Ews 3 ..located under the dash on the driver side!! You can create a key with ak90 no adapters needed!

Hi and thanks for the tutorial ;) I followed carefuly all the steps, but when I check the "virgin" key after writing on it, It shows the new key number (7) and not the 86 as showed when was a virgin key anymore, but the KM and VIN numbers are empty... what did I do wrong? Follwed carefully each step... The key stills blank today as didn´t have time to mill the blank key so din´t test it but every video about this shows the new key with VIN and KM numbers....
U probably selected the oem key and not after market..
@@MYKEYSAUTOMOTIVE No I didn't. Today I tried the new coded key and it works perfectly. I guess that the software of the AK comes from a previous version, as I did read a PDF with instructions, same version as mine and showing also these empty slots... hi, great video. Congratulations. I just bought the machine and the key. Is it absolutely necessary to dump the information back into the ews? If I encode a new key using the slot assigned to an old key that I no longer have, would it not be necessary to save the data in the ews? Thank you

Hello Mike can you tell me if I have to disconnect the battery to disconnect the ews to make a key or replace a ews malfunction unit?
Yes disconnect battery before disconnecting ews u might damage something

Not sure if it will work on windows ten .. it will work for windows 7 and xp

What’s the difference between this method and the procedure of matching the keys with the car, turning ignition on and off and pushing the buttons? One is for programming transponder into immo and other one is only to match remote?
The on and off procedure is only for the fob portion..this is for the immobiliser transponder chip

so if all the slots are full the AK90 does not allow to delete lost keys and rewrite to that slot for a new key?
I believe someone told me you can just write any key slot ..but cant delete it without the k"line
@@MYKEYSAUTOMOTIVE I have some lost keys and bought 2 new keys that my locksmith cut using my existing key, I should be able to write the new keys to an old slot and not have to delete it using the AK90?

Everytime I try to "Write EWS" it gives me "Write Error !!!" message. Has anyone ever encountered that problem?
hold the adapter tight on to the chip..
@@MYKEYSAUTOMOTIVE Yes, this is what I do for both reading/writing. I have to apply some pressure on the adapter, otherwise I would get "No pin touch" error.

Why writing back key dump???
Its an example just in case you mess up the original file .. you can write back the key dump..
I can’t write back my original bin file to EWS after adding two new keys. Both new keys work but my original does not. Says “wrong changing code key 1” in bmw scanner? Any help?
