The KM100 actually has a small reminder alarm when you have the VCI plugged in. It will continuously beep at you once you exit out to the main menu which is a nice feature. The VCI firmware was 1.20, and the most recent version as of today is version 1.24. This is a very good, convenient, IMMO/Key programmer. I just added a second key to our 06 Acura TL it was easy, just ordered the blade type flip open key, had the key blade cut (not IMMO programmed) at my local locksmith. Then ran the Add key steps. It was simple. There's also instructions in the KM100 to add the remote to allow all the buttons to function (lock/unlock/trunk/panic). These are separate steps from programming the Add key for the IMMO, and you don't need to do them all at once.
I have the KM100. I've spoken with Autel technical several times. Once I remembered to ask about the e and x, and what they designate. He stated the KM100 was made for the north American market and told me I didn't want the (e) model. I didn't inquire about the (x). He also stated they were identical in hardware and software. Another Autel tech rep said the straight KM100, no suffixes, was sold by retailers which provide technical support, locksmith suppliers, etc. Thanks!
NGL As soon as you said "I promise you, you are not going to use this. You will never use this" I knew I had to stop you in your certainty and split it in two. If I wanted a Bentley key for my Volkswagen, I would indeed be soldering those 4 pesky wires and charging to do so!
I just bought a 2021 ford and needed 2 things, 2 extra keys and a ODB2 reader. For the price dealers and locksmiths were charging for 2 keys, I was able to buy an ODB2 unit that also programs keys, seeing how I have never messed with any programmers, Just curious about how the one you are using would compare to what I bought, and that is The 2024 XTOOL IP819. So far I have programmed 2 flip out keys for the 2021 Transit and 2 keys for a 2013 F150. And it can wipe out the extra sets of remotes that the car lot said they did not have, which was 3 more, as the reader said it had 4 programmed in the system and they said they only had 1? Plus, I can also read, clear codes and adjust many items of the vehicle.
I just scored one in new condition at a pawnshop for two forty and couldnt pass on it. Was gonna get the launch with their key dock but now i can get the cheaper one since i got this now.
From what I read on Amazon, KM100 is the tool that needs internet connection when doing key programming. KM100X, on the other hand, does not need internet connection. I'm still confused, though. Hi, Great video, Love how you explained everything. I would like to see what you recommend, I want to start programming keys ( not business) for side job, at least for now. Do you recommend this or something like a topdon/im508S/OTTOFIX? ( just genral cars not luxury)I would like to do some light diagnostics since I do some car repairs. Asso, how much can I charge if I'm just beginning my services. Thank you.

Thanks for the detailed explanation and unboxing. I just got a Nissan X-Trail 2017 from Japan and it came with just one 3-button key. I'm a tech guy, so naturally I was considering purchasing this tool to program a second key to work with it. There's also a market in my country for smart key programmers, so I'm thinking that I can get into the market and make some dough as well. Most of the vehicles here are imported from Japan...mainly Toyota and Nissan, with a tiny minority coming from Europe (MG, BMW, Mercedes) Would this: a) Be able to program a second key for my car? b) Be a sensible business tool in my new venture?
Excellent video with explanation. Now got a question. I got a Pontiac G8. Years ago, i got 2 set of Advanced keys systems. Those 2 keys are breaking down now. I got additional new style keys from Advanced keys systems which are not programed. Can I program 2nd custom keys to match the 1st set of custom keys or do i need the original OEM keys to program new custom keys? Thanking in advance.
What about proximity keys? The kind where as you walk up to the car, it already knows you're there so all you have to do is touch the door handle to unlock. Will this program those kinds of keys?
Thanks for the video. Will this work on Chrysler vehicles like a 12 town and country where they just have the square block and non"cut" key? Will it also program win modules?
Ford key programming is confusing 🤔 you said you need 2 keys to program the 3rd, so how could you program the 2nd while you have 1 key only? If it's feasible, why don't you program their key the same way you did for the 2nd key 🤷🏻♂️
Ford programming with this module works with zero keys. It supports all keys lost If you have 2 keys you can program more for free without a programmer.
