only Exx with EWS in EGS (ie.ISN) is E70, E71. Vin does not stop starting of car, after reading/writing of CAS you need to sync ELV/CAS and it will start. Coding in DME is minimal at best.
Thank you for the video, please tell me Vvdi bimtool pro is better to buy with BMW or cgdi bmw I stand before choosing which one is better to choose to work BMW
One question did the auto gearbox work after doing this mod? The ISN in the gearbox needs to match the ISN in the CAS and DME. If you changed the ISN in the CAS the gearbox will possibly no longer work. The engine will run but no mechatronics in gearbox will work. Did you have this problem or did the auto gearbox still work?
Hello friend. How are you? I watch your videos. You really do amazing work. I want to ask you for advice on something. Which device do you recommend for coding on BMW for FEM on BMW?
This may be a stupid idea... but could you not just take both the DME and the CAS module from the donor car and put them both in the car the DCT is going into and then just use the key from the donor car as the new key? Is there any reason this wouldnt work? I ask because I have a wrecked 135i that I am wanting to take the DCT from and install into my 335i. thanks :) Love your videos btw!
I'm replacing my MSD 81 part # 7592080 with one with the same exact part number. Do I just need to change the VIN on the DME using WinKFP or is there more to it? Trying to just replace the DME but I also have the matching CAS and Key fob from the donor vehicle. If I replaced as a set, do I still need programming of the VIN? Thank you.
I dont like replacing all units although the car will run, but it will think it has the wrong vin number. I am under the impression you cant change the cas vin with winkfp, which is what everything relies on. However i havent gone through it myself, just read about people with issues and looked in to ISN change to make the new DME work with original cas.
Not with this tool. The vin is stored in 2 places on the DME, this can only change one of the stored vins. Mind you that vin change should be fine for emissions checks. You can also update the vin with winkfp.
My car is a 2009 with the MSD81, but with the standard ZF 6HP auto, since it has the newer MSD81, would it already have the software to control a DCT, or am I misunderstanding.
The vin matching I just did with mhd, now I think the car will run with mismatched vin the but cluster may show a tamper dot. However a simple mhd flash will write the vin from your cluster to the dme now.
@@ZeroTo60Tube Interesting I know cars run with VIN mismatching between DME and CAS, as long as ISN matches. I believe MHD happens to re write old donor's car VIN. But doesn't matter since your license will work with your old VIN as MHD also does a check against the CAS and if any of those (DME VIN or CAS VIN) match your license VIN then you are good to flash. In order to avoid tamper dot your VIN on the cluster should match the VIN on the CAS. I've been told this back in the days.
Basically for the car to start all the Isn’s need to be the same in the dme, cas and trans (if the trans is equipped with isn security). I think it’s only the dct that has that on the e9x cars. Once the isn lines up the car should start. You need the vins in each module to line up to avoid tamper dot
@@TML34 well tbh honest i havent personally tested the tamper dot theory, but that is what read. Either way its super easy to match the vins with a MHD flash
@@ZeroTo60Tube So how does MHD flash properly if you’ve now got different VIN’s in the DME and CAS? Or can you overwrite your existing VIN into the “new” DME?
@@TML34 MHD uses the cas to identify the car, and writes the cas vin to the UIF section of the DME. Doing some reading before, the vin is stored in two places in the DME but the UIF must be all that matters. If i scan the car with inpa it now shows my cars vin on the DME after the MHD flash.
Ahhh thats an easy one...... you simply borrow it from your brother in law haha. I will ask him what was involved in making it. Its not ideal, or safe, but if you are careful it will do the job.

interested to know more about the charger please. cheers
Great work can’t wait to see the DCT swap!!!!
You and me both!
Your DIY charger in on another level. Looks really high end.
Pretty sure you can sync CAS and EWS with ISTA too, for anyone without a brick tool.
it wont if ISN is completely different. It will for only CAS2 if ISN are the same but syncing data is corrupted.
Making great progress, can't wait to see it with DCT gearbox 👌
You and me both!
Thank you for including the INPA part, that is always handy for reference!
You make this look so easy. Not many have your all round knowledge. Great content as always👍🏻

Glad to hear it, cos that's what its all about.
Wow i was super nervous watching that but well done mate thats a huge milestone!
Fantastic job guys!. Wow! Glad you are on DCT like me, in a few days. Very curious about the maintenance on this gearbox. Dutch regards, Nico.
Awesome work!! Looking forward to the dct now!
Genius, I can build a top race engine with no stress but that programing stuff gets my blood pressure off the charts.

It did however, e9x series dct and auto do not have isn in the boxes.
Donor car stock wheel size? Mine are cracked and trying to find some

It would work, however the vin number would be incorrect when you plug MHD in, or any scan tool. You would also need to re do the coding on them.

You can change cas with hack tools, just not winkfp. I think......

The MSD81 is compatible with a DCT. So swapping the DME is one step you wouldnt need to do.

crazy you coded your injectors today, I did as well haha, Are you running index 12's?
Yes I am! Luckily this car actually came with index 12s when i got it.
Will you be going XHP flash or the M3 route to get the shiftlogic and MDrive stuff.
xHP all day long. Want the extra clutch clamping pressure and also being able to tune the clutch on launches.
