being an ex concert band player turned metalhead. Judson's retrospectives are invaluable and incredibly interesting.
One of my favorite lyrics is in the first verse "..go drill your deserts, go dig your graves, and fill your mouth with all the money you will save". Would love to hear something off of We Are Not Your Kind!
Normally I’m not a fan of slipknot, but this song is definitely one of their best at least the chorus , it’s very melodic and pleasing and the guitar 🎸 solos are also very nice as well 😊
I loved this song from the first time I heard it. The harmonies in the chorus are fantastic and so catchy.

After hearing the Rob Scallon banjo cover of Psychosocial, featuring Leo from Frog Leap on vocals, I hardly ever listen to the original anymore. I start listening to the original, and end up stopping it, and playing the banjo version instead. It would make a good video for both of you to react to. That's coming from a Slipknot fan, who has seen them live many times. Corey Taylor even does a cameo at the end of the video.
I would love Judson's take on Dying Fetus, I know he won't like the gutterals at all, but the rest is top notch in my opinion, the groove is next to none and the riffs are so clean, that wall of sound is from just 3 dudes

Since you ask, I’m currently slaving away for my psychology degree and “psychosocial” is just a way of referring to something that relates to both psychological and social aspects and/or the interplay therebetween.
This song seems rather critical of society with the whole “packaging subversion, pseudo-sacrosanct perversion” you know.. so perhaps Slipknot wants to draw attention to the psychological implications for those involved in these societal ’perversions’, whether it be war or simply living in today’s messed up world. Just my two cents, but I’d love to know what they actually intend to say.
I knew you would shit on the Grammy’s, love it. Will you support it the day Judson wins one though?

Your speculation would also track with another song on the album, "Gematria(the killing name)" which is highly critical of the wars america has taken part in, theres also some references to psychological decline in there.

CCR is my favorite band it was the first time I recognized judsons pick. Was cool to hear his take on it.

Here is an interesting experimental idea, get Judson to react to something of Metallicas Lulu album. I am not sure which song of the album as I did not make it half way through the first track. I still think it would make for an interesting reaction and an interesting comments section.

My interpretation of Psychosocial is.. How dealing with society and people can make you mad and feel crazy... Like you either want to run and hide from it/them or lash out... Duality of emotions going on can make u feel like your crazy... But its society as a whole thats crazy... Insert joker face here 😬

The year Metallica beat Slipknot for the Grammy, and I was still somewhat a big Metallica fan at that time, I lost all hope for any organized ceremony. I think Psychosocial was written about the state of society at the time because around that time period is when things started changing drastically but I might be wrong. I could swear I heard an interview with the band and that was the conclusion but I’m not 💯

Ive been watching these reactions for a while... the man clearly is not interested in metal music and he almost never has any points on them ... watching him react is like seeing s.one being tortured. I didn’t care muc for Death Magnetic either. To me it was Metallica purposely trying to sound like Metallica since St. Anger oissed people off. Like the z day that never comes is such a rip off of older and better Metallica songs for one.
To me psychosocial is a word that is just a variation of antisocial or something like that.
Too be devils advocate, St Anger was a masterpeice compared to Lulu. 😅
This song was always extremely overrated in my eyes. the Chorus is catchy enough and the breakdown is fun (altho not very 'slipknot'y'), but the 4x4 Verses are just so boring to me, i could never get hyped about this song as much as other people do. I'll always claim that Duality was a far, Far more interesting and better ''Hit single''. (i know u've done Duality already, just needed to rant:)
